Panache

This is billed as a unisex fragrance from niche DelRae. It's very sweet by male standards - for me more of a warm, feminine fragrance with some substance (maybe the definition of unisex...whatever). On me its warm, sexy, and long-lasting. It borders on gourmand without going into spice-cookie territory. It also doesn't contain patchouli - alot of fragrances in this category do and patchouli and my skin just don't like each other. I also love that it's not a readily available fragrance. I constantly get compliments and men seem to really be attracted to it. It's also my 11-year son's favorite fragrance on me. I bought it during the cool weather months and love it. I'll have to see how it works during the summer - thinking it might be a little too intense. It's pricey but you can buy a sample on Lucky Scent.

I have a giant bag of samples to test, and I like to choose one without looking at the notes ahead of time so that I get honest impressions. For the first 30 minutes, it smells like a very sweet, creamy and powdery vanilla-heliotrope-almond fragrance. Now that I have peeked at the notes, Panache is nothing like I guessed! In the floral-woody-musk category, yes, but it was not easy for me to find any white florals or any honey. Kind of like how Nuits de Noho has very different notes from Angel, yet it smells so much like Angel. I smelled a good dose of amber in the heart. Panache has very powdery top notes, but I wouldn't say it smells musky necessarily, and the powder dissipated significantly once the perfume settled on my skin. Also I noticed that the bergamot never lets up and remains pretty obvious the entire time it's on my skin. On the whole, I think Panache is really beautiful! While it it's apparently not one of those heliotrope-almond perfumes, I'd recommend it to those who love that type of scent. I find it very sweet and feminine, rich and creamy.

Wow. To be honest, the brand is not a one that 'speaks' to me. I have briefly tested a few of their scents and never stopped for longer on any of them. Just did not seem very interesting to me. I stumbled across Panache by accident while looking through my sample box, and what an amazing surprise that was. I could definitely see it on a man and on a woman. It is slightly powdery, slightly sweet, musky, woody. So well blended. I can definitely pick up vetiver, ylang-ylang, jasmine. Nothing really stands out more than other notes, they dance on the skin all together, creating this wonderful woody, sensual melody. Later there is a slight medicine note appearing- but I can only smell it with my nose literally on my wrist. Yes, it has jasmine and honeysuckle and amber, making it sweet, but the spices are wonderful- they an the woody notes are what makes this scent more masculine in my opinion. I would be very impressed if I smelled it on a man.

It is too strong for me. I couldn't even come close. And nothing special about this scent. Just a normal overwhelming musky scent.

The creations from Parfums DelRae are not easy to wrap one's nose around. This one, Panache, strikes me as far more masculine than feminine, but it is also very complex, with tons of weird notes all combined to produce an unpredictable scent. It really seems to vary as the different elements wax and wane. Here are the notes listed at another site, which includes also the aromachemicals in play: Top: Ambrette seed, Bergamot, Magnolia, Pink pepper, Rum Heart: Oak wood, Honeysuckle, Geranium, Haitian vetiver, Iris, Jasmine, Cardamom, Ylang-ylang, Cedarwood Base: Amber, Cosmone, Hawaiian honey, Moxalone, Serenolide, Frankincense I am simply assuming that moxalone, cosmone, and serenolide are synthetic molecules. These must be what account for the strong musky quality of the composition, though musk is not listed (and all musks used these days are synthetic anyway). I cannot decide whether I like this or not. I own a small bottle but rarely reach for it. Panache has an unapproachable quality to it. I find it interesting and never boring, but I do not feel joy while wearing it. More of a cause for reflection than pleasure. Some reviewers have characterized this perfume as sweet. I am wondering whether there may have been a decanting error involved in the preparation of some of the samples, because this bottle is not sweet at all. On the contrary, this strikes me as a very woody-musky, somewhat floral and spicy but savory scent. At the same time, it seems rather alien, like a perfume for an extraterrestrial being.

Intensely sweet captivating fragrance. You only need a little spritz of this stuff cause it really makes it's presence felt!! This is one of those perfumes that the wind carries ever so intensely. A couple of hours after appling it I stepped out and was all at once confronted with the overpowering swoon of sweetness that is Panache! I do think however it's more fem than unisex.Exceedingly luscious all the same!

Very musky, almost borderline calone aquatic? I hope this one develops more on my skin. Update: Im getting some vetiver and musk late in the drydown. Its nice but nothing special.

I get musky ambrette and vetiver. It's interesting, but it's not a favorite. Yet I don't want to give up my bottle now that Parfums DelRae is defunct...

How can they call this Panache when there's another Panache already on the market? It's made by Lentheric or Yardley and it's really nice.
