Tonka Latte

Way back, at the beginning of the gourmand trend, it was my least favorite type of fragrance. I loathed and continue to loathe Angel, and it seemed like the trend was more for girls and young women who wanted to smell like strawberry cupcakes. I was probably missing out on more mature gourmands at that time out of ignorance, but over the years, I experimented with a few, and grew to love some of them, starting with Coronandel. Which brings me to Tonka Latte. In a way, it reminds me of Coromandel, which I attribute to the white chocolate. TL is softer than Coro, very cozy, and perfect for crisp fall days followed by cooler nights, where the fireplace is used for the first time of the season. It smells like a fine cashmere blanket feels! It is creamy and lactonic from the milk and the white chocolate, which I prefer so much more than chocolate or cocoa in a fragrance. The mid notes of tonka, honey, and almond lend a nutty sweetness that is not at all cloying, and the base notes don't stand out in particular, but do provide some underlying structure that holds things together. I own quite a few Dusita creations, and like all of the ones I own, with the exception of Melodie d'Amour and Rosarine, it doesn't have the greatest longevity. The projection is about elbow length at the beginning, but eventually becomes a skin scent on me. Right now, I own a large decant, but plan on purchasing a full bottle soon and using the decant to touch up. I've come a long way since my initial dislike of gourmand, though I am still choosy about what I like. This, along with the aforementioned Coromandel, are easily my two favorites.

I went to the Paris boutique today and I'm wearing this on one wrist. It's not a soupy tonka (although it's sweet), it has more of a burnt sugar, woody feel, very nice. I expected it to resemble Tonka Impérial or Fève Délicieuse but it doesn't, other than being a strong tonka scent. While it's a departure from the usual Dusita floral bent, it still retains something of their DNA. As for the aforementioned Guerlain and Dior cult classics, I prefer this to either of them, as it's less scratchy than the Dior and less saccharine than the Guerlain. Pissara never misses, and this is no exception! Also, I thought I wasn't getting the white chocolate, but it comes out after an hour or so, really lovely. Despite the gourmand note list, it still smells like perfume rather than simply being cakey/foody, and the almond gives a boozy edge.

I’m shocked at some ppl here comparing it to Bianco Latte. If you smell Bianco Latte in this you probably got scammed. They sold you something else. I see here a soft honeyed fusion, milky but not fluffy lactonic. Very well blended with white chocolate and tonka beans. Almonds are secondary to the nose. It’s beautiful, sublime and wearable all year round. I guess some ppl rating fragrances here get nasty because either they don’t like the perfumer or they dislike the fact that they didn’t get a PR/free bottle. Either way you got to be realistic and grow up. This is though very similar to Signature Aurum by Zaharoff.

Airy, floating on a cloud-like perfume. You can smell each delicious note of tonka, vanilla, honey, white chocolate & caramel. The musk & almond is simply gorgeous, makes it have this touch of floral to my nose. Yes, sometimes almond can come off a little synthetic smelling in some products but I love it in this perfume. Dry down is slightly artificial but not as plasticky as BL (and yes I like Bianco latte but I think this is better). It’s got a little more soul. Mouthwatery, delicious & SUGARY. It smells like the inside of a candy wrapper. YUM. Full bottle on the Christmas wish list.

This is actually pretty gorgeous....I wasn't expecting to like it so much as I'm learning I'm more of a gourmand adjacent lover than a true gourmand enthusiast. This opens with the white chocolate note but softens to a warm, creamed honey vanilla. Definitely gives Bianco Latte vibes without the artificial/plastic opening, softer and more elevated, with less projection. It reminds me a little bit of Lira where you get this cozy and comforting creaminess. I think Tonka Latte will be a beautiful one to layer with, definitely getting a full bottle.

To the reviewer below : No, I would never choose Bianco Latte over the beauty that is Tonka Latte. Sorry. Bianco Latte is not ugly but there 0 artistry in it, and it smells chemical. On the other hand, Pissara managed to make a truly gourmand fragrance with nearly 0 sweetness in it. And that to me is a tour de force. She created the perfect buttery milky fragrance, to me at least.😄 Bianco Latte to me doesn’t smell like an actual perfume, but more like a consumer product.🤷🏻♀️

This is a beautiful sweet warm gourmand. I get a lot of tonka and honey enveloped in a glass of warm milk. This is a cold day with a cozy drink ready to cuddle into bed with a good book. This will be a favorite fall/winter fragrance! Note: Tonka Latte is not Bianco Latte at all. They have very different notes. Tonka Latte is tonka and honey milk. Bianco Latte is caramel milk. They are very different to me and I love them both.

I really like this! Cozy, creamy gourmandish but not too sweet. I get all the major notes, honey white chocolate and tonka. One thing I noticed is that it makes me sneeze every time i put it on. Just once or twice just after applying, and then its cool. So strange... but don’t get me wrong I will continue spraying on a daily basis 😁

As a big fan of tonka notes, it’s no surprise I loved this. What sets it apart is the composition and way it sits on skin and clothing. The honey is never cloying and the dry down feels so cozy and delicious. The scent profile isn’t anything revolutionary, but the execution is. My perfect gourmand winter fragrance.

Musky honey with a bit of vanilla to my nose. Honey note definitely the strongest. Lasted about 9 hours on my skin without fading too much (only gone with my shower), but wasn't overpowering. Reminds me of the scent of the honey lip scrub from LUSH.

It’s similar to vanilla sex by tom ford but with a honey note added on love it

Even my least favorite perfumes by Pissara are still magical.

I attended an event in Les Sentures in London today and got the chance to meet Pissara and smell the new perfume. She is really sweet and amazing! I discovered the brand a while ago but haven't got the chance to try it until about a month ago and I am obsessed with them since then. I immediately ordered a discovery set and I've tried around 13 so far. Tonka Latte is very different from its previous floral and fougere releases. This is a warm and sweet tonka caramel latte with some honey on top. It is not sickly sweet and I also find it quite different from Feve Delicieuse. There is a slight burnt smell there, as mentioned by @tshahb. The white chocolate here is not a realistic one but more like an imaginary concept so it won't become too edible. I agree with @tshahb that although this is a gourmand fragrance, it is more like a perfume than a cake/dessert, which is a merit for me. Pissara explained that she wants to create a scent that provides a cosy atmosphere and reminds people that happiness is so simple. Sometimes we just needs to stop for a moment and enjoy a tonka latte to have a getaway from the buzzing world.

Based on a 2ml sample, this is definitely a tonka forward fragrance and I like it. I’m getting the tonka with the lightest touch of honey and bitter almond. I do not see comparisons with Bianco latte, which to me is nutty caramel. If I had to compare this to other well known tonka fragrances such as ‘velvet tonka’ by BDK, I much prefer this one. Velvet tonka was too strong and pungent for my liking At one point in time I was looking specifically for a tonka fragrance and if that was still the case I might get a bottle of this. If I had a bottle I’d probably use it for layering with something a bit sweeter. However, even though I like this fragrance I think I would prefer to smell it on a man vs on myself (female). I’m surprised at all the votes that think this is more of a feminine leaning fragrance as I don’t think so at all. If you are looking for a crowd pleasing tonka fragrance then I’d consider this one over other tonka frags (that are not as true to the note or very polarising)

Really pretty. Gives a cozy, intimate feeling. I find it lasts long as a skin scent, but others do not smell it on me unless they are very close. I have not tried Bianco Latte so I cannot compare, but I don't smell any caramel and I get lots of white chocolate with this one. Update: I initially thought that it didn't project well because I asked a few people how it smelled and they couldn't smell unless they were right against my skin. But recently, I've been spraying a little more heavily and spraying my clothes as well and I am getting a ton of compliments. So, if you want this to be a skin scent, you can have that option, and if you want to project, spray more heavily and include your clothes!

Vanilla, chocolate, coffee... it’s very hygge. Cozy, mildly sweet, and warm. Starts milky chocolaty, warms to almond and honey. Not earth shattering but it’s still really lovely to wear in front of the fireplace watching Christmas movies on this rainy cold day. Edit: spraying again before bed, I’m getting a lot of honey this time. It’s like a mellower Fort & Manle All the Queens Men with a supporting almond accord. A bit of a shape shifter, this one! I love almond so that makes the honey a bit more manageable for me. I was complemented on the fragrance by a friend, so even if projection feels intimate, it’s still there, and it’s pleasant to others.

I've found it's impossible for Pissara Divani to release an unpleasant perfume, and this is no exception. A mixture of milky, almond, and tonka notes, this feels like a comforting hug but without being too sweet. Its downside is that it doesn't develop very much except immediately after the initial spritz: what you smell after the first five minutes is pretty much what you get. It also sits very close to the skin, although that might be nice, especially if you want to wear something like this to the office. It very much has the Dusita DNA, and could pair with any of Divani's other fragrances in the line.

Vanilla, amber, spices, honey, almond and musk. Not to shabby. This leans female it is also a wearable version of Xerjoff’s italica, which is overwhelming. This settles down to a nice, soft, fluffy, powdery, musky vanilla. Definitely for the ladies but that won’t stop me from finishing my sample over time. 6 hours in it is almost a soft tobacco. 12 hours in it alternates between booze and chocolate. It projects moderately for about six hours then becomes a skin scent

Just tried this at Esxence; this a grown-up, elegant gourmand, as I expected from Dusita. If you don't normally love gourmands, give this one a try anyway. And if you do love gourmands, this one is appropriate, even for the office. I believe this one will be coming out in April 2025 (someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I'll edit my post once I'm able to sit with it for a bit longer, stay tuned. Bravissima, Pissara!

Another reviewer described this perfectly - an office-friendly gourmand. I'm actually surprised by how light this is given the notes. I'm not getting Bianco Latte or Escapade Gourmande type of sweetness or projection. The almond, tonka bean and a bit of honey is all I pick up. It's not a bad scent at all, it's just not what I thought it would be.
