Emerald Isle

I used to love GIT, back when it had the Millesime tag and the scent notes were natural and rich. The violet and bergamot were particularly evident and long lasting and for me, defined the distinctive nature of this classic fragrance. The last truly lovely bottle I had was 2013. Since then it has set off in a different direction and I feel it has become more muddy, almost flat in its notes. Less complex and vibrant and with poor longevity and sillage. Here is where Parfums Vintage excels. They drill down into notes of fragrances when they have been at their best and in my opinion, they do this really well. I haven’t tested all their fragrances, but the ones I have really capture the DNA of their influences. Emerald Isle pulls together that mossy, earthy richness and slightly dank, oily violet note, with sharp and fresh verbena and bergamot to almost identically replicate my first bottle of GIT. It has clearly been created by someone that understands what makes the original GIT so unique and special. Longevity and sillage are moderate, which I think are correct for this fragrance - certainly performs better than current GIT - and the scent profile evolves beautifully in the dry down. I love it.

I was interested in trying this scent profile out. I have a decant of GIT 2024 from 2024. And I have samples of PV Emerald Isle and Verbena Fields. I have done several side by side comparisons. The Verbena Fields is definitely closer to the current GIT. My partner said she could not tell any difference and I think it is very close. However, I had read that the Emerald Isle is supposed to be based off of any earlier vintage of GIT from pre 2010's or something like that. I have not had a chance to sample any older versions of GIT, so I cannot speak to the accuracy of the dupe. But I can say, I like Emerald Isle far more on my skin. It is not as harsh and angular as GIT in the opening and seems to hang on to the fresh green notes longer into the dry down. I think it also has a more sandalwood in the heart of the scent. Overall, I love this scent more than GIT but they are definitely different. I did not really dig the intensity of GIT up front and it does not seem like something I would spend a bunch of money on. However, I do plan on purchasing a bottle of Emerald Isle. I really do like it.

I have GIT and got a sample of this along with a number of others from Parfums Vintage. Got to say this is an excellent fragrance. Very, very similar to GIT - the nuances in fact improve the fragrance. To my nose, the fragrance is smoother due to the sandelwood, is fuller bodied and projects slightly better in the first hour. Longevity is good although no better than GIT. Very, very impressed by this fragrance - shouldn't come as a surprise as PV have a few bangers UPDATE: Now have a bottle of this and have therefore had the opportunity to wear it more. In my eyes it is an improvement on GIT - at least a recent batch I have. It smells better and projects far better. The first two times of wearing it my wife said she loved it - she never does this. The only department GIT wins is in longevity - it remains a skins scent longer on me. Emerald Isle lasts long, but GIT remains crazy long. I feel GIT will sit pretty on my shelf whilst I wear Emerald Isle. To be fair it is a beautiful bottle

I have a sample of this perfume. It lasts between 9-10 hours. With a medium intensity. I tried this perfume with my husband and we concluded that it is a scent that suits him better. It is a perfume that is not complicated in aromas but that works extremely well, as a whole of aromatic plants next to sandalwood, lavender and gray amber. Bergamite comes to refresh aromatic notes much more. Fresh, aromatic ... Aromas that form a perfume that is not complicated, it is not extrabagant. What it is is a versatile perfume, easy to use at many times of the year or moments of your day to day. A good perfume with which you know you smell good and with good quality of duration.

This is almost identical to Green Irish Tweed on the dry down. I highly recommend it if you want to see what Green Irish Tweed smells like or if you don't want to fork out all that doe for Creed.

This is on point. Smells just like GIT has great projection and lasts all day. Couldn’t be happier

Wife bought me a few Parfums Vintage testers, and the battle between Emerald Isle & Verbena Fields vs GIT seems to be the debate, rather than enjoying the scents as they are. If you're going for a clone race, then Verbena Fields is the winner. If you're going for which one you enjoy more, you'll have to buy them for yourselves. I like both a lot, and Emerald Isle has some characteristics I like more, sporting that fresh cut grass, on a dew covered morning, April 28th, which happens to be the first mowing of the season. A different journey than what I get with Verbena Fields. I won't drop-in on the clone discussion, but I would recommend you get your nose on this, and VF to see what you like. The fragrances last a good length on me (6 hr range), and have a nice sillage. Day time preferred, and Summer/Spring would be best. If you work in an office, you can get away with it if you're in a less formal position.

Hmm. . . So I have quite a few PV I absolutely love and this sadly isn't one of them. I had Verbena Fields before this and I love that one, this sadly however has a mid note that puts me off. Which sucks because I was truly hoping this would be a tad bit sharper. It is weird this and Verbena Fields smell so different to me, though I have noticed similar between some of the Aventus dupes ie: Same fragrance different bottles smelling off from each other. I would pick Verbena Fields over this 100%, it is not a spot on clone but does a good job albeit not enough to replace the OG, luckily I am stocked on older GIT bottles. 4/10

I paid the higher price for this clone because some people swore up and down it was the best clone of green Irish tweed on the market. Well if this is the best then you might as well not bother trying to get a GIT clone. This scent is extremely soapy to the point of almost smelling rubbery. I can tell it has some similarities to GIT but it’s like they turned the soapiness up to 10 and earthiness down to 2. Definitely disappointed.

Emerald Isle is another solid offering fro,m the Parfums Vintage house and to my nose is the closest clone to GIT ! With that said this just did not mesh well with my skin chemistry. It opens up smelling very much like GIT (Slight harsh opening and all) but once it dries down you get that richness and smoothness just like GIT. Unfortunately though this just did not mesh with my skin chemistry unlike Verbena Fields Which meshed beautifully. I’m pretty sure the reason being is that mint is a note that turns bitter and sharp on my skin and that’s what happened with this fragrance( So I need to be fair) After the hour and a half mark though that harshness fades and I’m pretty much left with GIT but GIT is just perfectly smooth where this does have some sharp edges. (I highly prefer Verbena Fields as I like the brighter more aromatic take on GIT) s Performance on this was 6-8 hours with very strong projection for the first 2 hours. This didn’t last longer than Verbena Fields but it did project better. Overall rating —6.5 out was of10 ! Im sure on others this would probably work better but it didn’t work on me. Sidenote—- I tried GIT,Emerald Isle and Verbena Fields on my arm and asked my fiancées opinion and she hated Emerald Isle as she said it was to bitter and sharp,liked GIT but really liked a Verbena Fields !

Well...I received this fragrance a few days ago. I also have a decant of Git. The opening is extremely harsh and after it settles down to something bearable approximately 20' later, it is already a skin scent with a mere GIT like scent. Cool water is way better

I'd love to have smelled this scent and be able to post a review, however instead I feel compelled to warn other potential customers of how atrocious Parfums Vintage's customer service is. I ordered Emerald Isle from the company's website on 5 January. Despite receiving a confirmation email for the order, I then heard nothing from them for almost three weeks. When I chased them on 23 January, they eventually responded with a curt message - addressed to me only by my surname! - that they would be unable to fulfil the order. They stated they would refund the payment, but due to currency fluctuations and them performing a refund rather than reversing the original transaction, on top of everything else, I ended up out of pocket. They made no offer to let me know when the product would be available. I told them (25 January) that it was extremely poor service not to have notified me of this before I chased them. I asked for the contact details for a senior executive at the company, so that I could write a proper complaint, but of course they have not bothered to answer that message. My previous experience with the company, about a year ago, was little better, but at least that order was fulfilled and received (eventually, after a wait of many weeks). The fragrance market is a highly competitive one. Parfums Vintage has priced its products at a level not matched by their service levels. Not even close. If one searches online, these sorts of problems are rather too common with this company. I would urge others to think carefully before dealing with Parfums Vintage. They clearly have little time, and no respect, for their customers.

I just received a whole bunch of 5ml samples from PV, and started here. I have to say, I'm really surprised that anyone is still recreating this scent. It is really showing its age; it was cutting-edge 20+ years ago, but now it just has a familiar cleanliness that's hard not to enjoy, but with a boring sense of nostalgia attached to it. What I mean by that, is that as great as this scent ever is or was, it still was never as cool as, say, Drakkar Noir or Acqua di Gio. Just my opinion. Having said that, I actually find this fragrance reminds me more of Bond no 9 Riverside Drive than it does Creed GIT. I mean, all 3 are meant to mirror each other anyway I think. This particular version by PV is very strong but not overwhelming, just one spray lasted me an entire work day! Only because I no longer gravitate toward this type of scent, I won't he buying this, but I'll enjoy the hell outta this sample.

This is the closest, most natural smelling alternative to Creed's Green Irish Tweed. Extremely similar. It even has the grassy opening! The only difference here is the amped up sandalwood towards the mid and the dry down. I'm personally not a fan of the heavy sandalwood accord here. But if you're a fan of sandalwood and GIT, you will be extremely impressed.
