Rush of Unicorns

I just delved into the world of Parfums Vintage and I guess im slightly underwhelmed with one exception - this fragrance. Imo, I disagree that these can truly be likened to other niche offerings. Not that I cant see the similarities but they dont quite come close. Sunset in Heaven isnt enough of a match to BR540, Vintage and Xbatch arent close enough to Aventus, etc. There is something little missing in each that doesnt quite complete what masterpieces the originals are and for their own good, I guess I am glad that the niche are still special in that way - kind of justifies the hefty $ premium people pay. Looking at a Parfums Vintage Bottle is underwhelming as well. The box is decent but the glass bottle is simple with, from my experience, a sticker stuck on that was not completely flush and with a chintzy cap. But after being less than blown away with Sunset in Heaven, I decided to take the plunge on a few samples which ended up being a smart decision. Despite my criticisms thus far on a full bottle I purchased, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by my sample of 'Rush Of Unicorns'. While it isnt a replacement to Millesime Imperial, I find it so enjoyable that I might actually get a bottle of this. A few days with the sample I ordered will help me determine if I end up preferring this to MI. It is a fusion of MI with Guess Suede. While that might not sound so pleasant, the smell is captivating, smooth yet versatile . Update 1: I continue looking forward to and enjoy smelling the scent of this juice that I went ahead and purchased a small bottle. I anticipate it makes my top 10 and possibly my top 5 for the spring/summer rotation.

I'm not sure what kind of experiences people have been having but I have several PV bottles and every one of them is excellent quality and arrived as stated. This is the only PV frag I own that I dont also own the original to compare it against. All of the others are at least as good or better than various vintage productions of the original. (Imbue smells like a niche interpretation of Gucci Pour Homme 2 with matching improved performance) Rush of Unicorns is super fresh and sexy. Very very salty. It took me a while to get used to, having mostly been exposed to melon notes in lower end fragrances. I smelled it in cold weather for the first time and thought it smelled like 90s shampoo!! Well I love it now in the heat! The melon note is distinctly higher quality than most melon notes I have encountered (melon note in Apres La Mousson is also excellent) and the thick, heavy salt is sultry. This fragrance is not very citric to my nose, being rather all about the melon and salt. Simultaneously rich and fresh.

This is fun, casual, and clean at its best! I was looking for a good summertime scent that was long-lasting and didn't smell like one of those horrible linear cheap body sprays. After doing some research, I ordered a sample of Rush of Unicorns and found exactly what I was looking for. Superbly blended, this is a warm-weather fragrance with a main accord best described as aromatic-salty-melon. It's refreshing and a bit citrusy, but also softened by amber and warmed with sandalwood. It's simply juicy and delicious. I've never smelled Millésime Impérial by Creed, but if this is as good a clone as people are saying, it's totally worth the price, which pales in comparison to MI. Thank you for another accessible masterpiece, Parfums Vintage!

This scent is as good of a clone to MI as I would need to switch over - this may be the only scent the house is worth imo. This one is heavy on the Melon and Salt which is my favorite part of MI. I wasnt much a fan of the other samples I tried despite the hype. Perhaps the Elysium 'clone' might be worth a try but Ill look for it on ebay. Easily the WORST customer service. I ended up getting what I wanted but I would avoid PV in the future. Someone needs to buy a large shipment and redistribute - I would pay extra not to have to deal with the woman that I had to deal with. Attitude and excuses galore. Their customer service is a huge shame for the 'house'.

Have only tried the new Millesime Imperial, Rush of Unicorns crushes it. Rush of Unicorns opens very salty, and over the next 20 mins the fruit creeps in. Dominant fruits to me are melon and bergamot, with a drop of lemon. Remains quite salty, develops a little more over time but is fairly linear after the first hour. Far more fruit than new Millesime Imperial. Performance is near nuclear for me, detectable from an arms length on skin for around 7 hours and remains a skin scent until you wash. I don't understand the comparison below to Invictus, I don't get that at all. Nicely done Parfums Vintage plan on getting a full bottle of this soon.

For those of you who have sniffed the original MI (gold bottle). This is very close to that. It’s a lot more heavier on the sweeter melon note than the newer versions of Creed MI. That is what people genuinely love Mi for. It’s got better longevity and projection than MI generally speaking. I say that because of the batch variations of Creeds in general. If you are on a budget and don’t have the funds to shell out for Creed Mi, look no further. This will cover your needs for a much better price point. The only thing that I question is the source of their materials. If you aren’t concerned much about that, it’s a great buy.

Love this fragrance. It smells regal without being stuffy or formal. Fruity cantaloupe accord with this breezy saltiness. The scent smells beautiful and familiar, never generic. I can’t say that it ever feels “woody.” Perfect for summer. Performance isn’t the greatest, arms length at best, skin scent after a few hours, but close up its such an inviting scent. For me, more a casual scent, definitely unisex. (And fwiw, though I don’t know what it has to do with a fragrance review, I’ve had no issues with PV customer service — and I’ve ordered 3 bottles and countless samples.)

Rush of Unicorn Intense: Whereas the original, was reminiscent of sweeter, muskier batches of Millisime Imperial, the Intense version recreates those saltier and much airier batches of MI, with amped-up ambergris. Sweetness is still there just toned down, and the overall scent feels more balanced and breezy. With that being said, this is still a freshie and performance is moderate, I get about 4-6 hours. Much more refined and luxurious, than the horrible Armaf which is harsh, synthetic and riddled with ambroxan.

Rush of the Unicorns smells just like older batches of Millisime Imperial which are much sweeter. I'm not really a fan of the sweet accord in RoU or MI as I find it too sweet and it throws off a noticeably synthetic vibe. (Creed does this too.) I much prefer the non-fruity, salty, musky, heavy ambergris batches that are reminiscent of a coastal sea breeze. But that will mean I'll need to batch hunt and I'm not down with that. Now if PV were to create a salty ambergris batch -- that I'd buy in a heartbeat.

This scent is amazing. It’s great for brunch dates or just a chill night out or even just a gathering where it a social event. This one is strong, sexy, invitng and playful. I wouldn’t wear this to any office setting or meeting though. If you were looking for a quality scent forcheaper then this would be it. The opening projection is loud and will fill up a small room in my opinion. It’s fruity and aquatic but the aqua isn’t so loud. I feel like I smell pineapple too. Overall great fragrance 9/10

I just got this Fragrance today ! It is amazing, Bergamot, Melon, & Sea Salt! Can't wait for warm weather of late spring and Summer for a full wearing . I will come back with an update. Update: Wore this all Summer, beautiful scent. It sits close to the skin, not alot of projection. Great summer scent, I will just spray plenty on and carry a small decant to reapply every 4 hours.

First of all, I can't believe how good the longetivity is! As for the scent, it starts aquatic with candy-like sweet fruit (melon). Dries down to mostly a musky ambergris and stays on skin for incredibly long, considering this is a fresh scent. Great casual scent with amazing performance. Definitely worth a sample. I am without doubt picking this up for summer.

Wow - just wow! Surprised I love this so much as MI leaves me completely indifferent. I'm only familiar with recent batches - this may be why. With a few tweaks, the fragrance has gone from indifferent in MI to amazing in Rush of Unicorns Parfums Vintage have done an amazing job.....again!

I absolutely love this fragrance, I have a sample of millesime imperial from Creed and it smells exactly the same as Rush of unicorns. Rush of unicorns is a super fresh scent that can be worn by anybody anywhere anytime I highly recommend it. I give Rush of unicorns a 10 out of 10

@grooveK must be the wrong fragrance. If anything at all, it could be Emerald Isle or Verbena Fields, PV’s take on Green Irish Tweed (which to me smells solidly of clovers and dirt.)

Pretty good but the intense version is the best

On my journey to find the perfect MI clone to recreate what I felt 10 years ago when MI was the best perfume in the world, I had to give this one a try. As a standalone fragrance, it's honestly great. It smells awesome, high quality, very pleasant, airy, ever so slightly salty with a hint of fruit. 9/10 easily (although the performance isn't that great which is a bit off putting given that the PV variants are supposed to have much better lasting power than the frag they're based on) As an MI clone, I'm very disappointed. About 60-70% similarity. It's much more of a clone of the recent batches of MI than the older ones that I fell in love with. Far too watered down, way too floral, the opening (by far the greatest part of the original) isn't MI at all. Overall this is going to be a thumbs down from me. If you're after a very nice smelling slightly salty slightly fruity frag, can easily recommend this. If you're after an MI clone reminiscent of the older batches, honestly just go for Armaf Milestone. That thing gets you 90-95% of the way there for a fraction of the cost. While I'm here, I'll also leave my impressions of Dua's Imperial Pastique as it's relevant. That thing is atrocious. For whatever reason, some of the Duas I've tried have a horrible heavy waxy undertone that kills the whole scent, even after letting them macerate for weeks. This is absolutely one of them. Even ignoring the wax/oil smell, it has absolutely zero saltiness and freshness. It took the fruity notes of MI and turned them up to 11 and that's it, nothing else. Pure waxy fruity sweetness, and absolutely not worth purchasing.

This smells very close to Millesime Imperial and so therefore appears to be high quality, even up close. It is very linear and doesn't develop much but don't see this as an issue and believe this was very much intended. It is also slightly more masculine than the Creed. Longevity on skin is also very decent however I'm not convinced projection is that great after 1 hour. Think it sits very close but will test further. I have received several nice compliments on this but they weren't as intense as the complements I received from my Creed packaged sample of M Imperial, which were jaw dropping "you smell amazing" type stuff. I think this might due to the Creed having better projection and sillage initially. Still on the fence as to full bottle this or MI. Comparison aside, this is a great smelling fragrance and is worth its salt (no pun intended) as a non-clone

So at first i did hate this scent, it smelled like moldy ocean puke with hints of disgusting melon. It's been sitting for about 2 months now, i just sprayed it and it smells much better a very natural ocean/aquatic type of scent with just a little bit of powdery melon/citrus in the back Maybe my batch just needed to mature cause i did get it right when Rush of Unicorns dropped so idk sometimes frags need a few weeks to develop (so i hear) when they are fresh off the line. It's good and the dry down is pretty pleasant to me, opening is maybe just a tad bit too salty but i think that's just a preference. If you buy this i think you will be completely happy, even if it starts out moldy just let it sit for a bit and i think it'll come around (hopefully) but it is a nice fragrance for sure and smells high quality and natural

Enjoyable fragrance though, I wouldn't bother buying a bottle. The melon-y scent carries similar to Invictus, along with the black current underneath. Gives off a grape jelly vibe. As it settles down, it turns more powdery, and I'm not about to smell like a freshly huggied baby. Also, not looking to smell like koolaid...Oh No!!!!!!!!! Side note: I've ordered from PV a ton, and never had issues. Don't plan on buying more due to unhappiness in finding a scent I want to buy a full bottle of. I've gone through so many, and there are only two scents I own full bottles of (one was a B-day gift). Evolution De L'Homme Soir Parfums was the only one I bought, though it doesn't project terribly off my skin, it still smells great, and is a nice clone to Elysium.

a millesime imperial alternative? No. Unicorns isnt as vibrant but it has that slight identity. what i pick up in this juice is musk,melons and diluted sea water and it seems to have some amber in there. How close this is to Millesime imperial,,,,,%60....this juice does perform better than millesime imperial but it is nowhere close to reaching the heights that i experience with millesime imperial.

I just get a lot of salt in the opening. And some citrus and florals. Not sure what millisime imperial is supposed to smell like, but this one is meh for me. Powerhouse projector, but not my scent. Not ideal for men, since the florals kinda take a prominent role. 5.5/10 for me

Rush of Unicorns led me to quite an amusing experience. First, I had a decant of its inspiration, Creed's Millesime Imperial. I fell in love with how it smelled, but was skeptical of its cost vs. its middling performance. Rush of Unicorns got me curious and I got a decant of this scent. I found this scent to be vastly saltier than the MI I knew, with the fruitiness almost taking a back seat to the salt. I was confused about how people were saying that this fragrance was a well-made interpretation of MI. So I went out to a local outlet and tried the MI on display out for myself. Alas, the MI also had the same dominating saltiness! I don't even know which is supposed to be the batch that everyone refers to anymore. Well, with the staggering extent of Creed's infamous batch variations now in mind, I would also say that Rush of Unicorns is a well done replacement to those saltier variants of MI. If you like that direction, I'd strongly recommend giving this a shot. (i.e. try before you buy.) Unfortunately, I will have to look elsewhere for other, fruitier batches of MI.

Hard no... Got it to see if it was similar to my much loved Creed MI (CM3318K01 batch). ROU does smell very vintage but it's very harsh and musty. Grandpa smell to me. I did a side by side comparison with MI on my skin today and I only see a bit of similarity in the top notes. After a quick dry down it doesn't smell pleasant and actually wanted to wash it off. After 2-3h the dry down is getting a bit more pleasant but still not what I'm looking for and still don't like it. Is does last long. Currently After 8h it's still noticeable while MI has dried down to a skin scent already few hours ago. Overall 3/10 Not pleasant, harsh, musty, very vintage indeed and does last long.

Success! If the goal was to create a fragrance in the spirit of Creed's Millesime Imperial, then Rush of Unicorns (RoU) is a smashing success. Unfortunately for me I have discovered, after acquiring both fragrances, that I am uncivilized and uncultured as I don't care for either scent. They remind me of salty Play-Doh. I can admit I am the odd one though and most love them both. Scents being remarkably similar; I found RoU to be superior in performance to Millesime Imperial, for less than half the price, which makes it the preferred choice.

Don't be alarmed if you are wondering why your Rush of Unicorns doesn't live up to these user reviews. Mine is a big letdown for now, waiting for my scent to mature. I ordered the first offering of a new batch. Thank you so much, Cursive123, for your post so I know I am not alone and to be patient. Will add to this review after a couple weeks.

Terrible trash company. Dishonest reps. Bad customer service. Take your business elsewhere. Not worth the niche price for a clone house run by a Damien s Bitchers.

I just sampled this and honestly it doesnt smell good. It stinks and first few minutes It smells of curry or something. I’ve tried the original before and it was a fresh salty airy fragrance. This is dense and disgusting. Sorry but far far from quality. And look at the prices they charge. These guys are greedy. For a clone lol

Acquired 10ml and I want to chime in on what's already being said about this pretty under-the-radar fragrance. The comparisons to Creed's Millésime Impérial are very much warranted, but as is usually the case with clones, they're not exactly the same. For those who don't know, Rush of Unicorns is a niche fragrance out of the UK based Parfums Vintage and they've got a bunch of interesting clones (and more, surely) namely, X Batch, which is pretty interesting, a Sauvage and Aventus mash-up that leans Sauvage, haha. I believe there's a Green Irish Tweed one, etc. Many people will have noticed the lack of specificity on the MI Fragantica page regarding the "fruity notes," but I think watermelon or melon is a safe assumption, and as far as RoU is concerned, the fruitiness is far more round, prominent, and lasting with the inclusion of black currant, something I personally associate more with Mancera's Cedrat Boise, or even Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Aqua Celestia Forte. The fleeting sophistication and aquatic quality of MI is replaced by a feint floral lavender. Despite ranking second on the note list, sea salt might still be harder to detect for some users, or at least, be might be considered less effective without anything marine... One spray to the wrist maybe 5 hours ago has turned to a skin scent. Haven't tried wearing it properly for a whole day, or to see how it interacts with high heat, but I think as far as development is concerned, it's relatively linear. Anyhow, I'll probably be wearing this lots this season, but it definitely isn't an MI killer to me. It's of a good quality but there's something about MI's scent, barring longevity, that can't really be replaced. Think of CDNIM to Aventus... there's always got to be a catch. For me, with CDNIM, it'd be the lemon and the slightly sharper or synthetic quality. For MI and RoU, it's the blending, and that light and airiness that is missing.

December' 18 strange to see reviews like MKtexan here reviewing it in September and dumbing the fragrances down and then adding in December a new additional review praising it. Why get a fragrance and trash it to rush to claim hype before you've given it a few weeks of wearing?! I have PV Intense which is more consistent than Aventus and the batch variations however Rush of Unicorns is the impressive release for me. The quality is on par with Creed's Millesime Imperial however the Performance of Rush of Unicorns is superior and by quite a measure. I get 7 hours of longevity (4.5 - 5 hours with Millesime Imperial) and even more impressive is that Unicorns still has the nuanced qualities the original's fruity and salty accords. There are companies who have cloned Millesime Imperial previously and they have had a high concentration of oil to alcohol which in theory produces greater longevity but in practice results in an oily consistency sat on the skin. There is none of this in Rush of Unicorns and the projection and sillage as a result is also stellar. Overall rating: 9/10 BUT it's a 10/10 compared to Millesime Imperial as the recent 2016 batch that I have is watered down and the 2017 batches are the same. Very sad to see Creed do this to one of their finest fragrances.

I ordered some samples from PV. Using the tracking number of the shipment, I noticed that the parcel is stuck in custom since six weeks. I contacted PV customers service for a new shipment or a refund. Their answer was that the postal service in my country is the worst in EU and that I have to wait and hoping one day the parcel will be delivered. Do not buy anything from this company, they don’t care about their customers, more further they sell copies of famous frags at an unjustifiable high price, since they just copy and paste frags using average quality ingredients. BTW I ordered several stuff from US companies and all the times the goods arrived in reasonable time and without any issues. Only once one parcel was stuck in custom for two weeks and the company, without my request, contacted me and sent a new parcel free of charge. Few days later the original parcel arrived and the company offered me to get also the second parcel with 50% discount or to decide to ship it back without additional costs. I bought also the second parcel and I still ordering products from this company regularly since then. That’s the way a company should behave with their customers. Bye bye PV I’ll never buy anything from you again.

Creed MI is the GOAT of summer fragrances. I don't care about ratings, batches, or opinions. Salty or fruity. Its the best for so many reasons. We all know it. Creed MI is a must for any collection. You must get your nose on Creed MI in your fragrance journey. But now we have an imposter, a pretender to the throne. At 70% less the cost... Hmmpf I want to save 70% on this scent... MI is only slightly better than ROU in freshness. After hours of wearing ROU it is MI all the way through. This is not like other clones that are notes off and change dramatically during dry down. ROU feels exact. I do need to do a side by side at this point. The collector in me wants Creed. My budget demands Parfums Vintage. Our budgets may dethrone MI.

I tested this fragrance on my arm in comparison to a Millesime Imperial batch from 2014, and then asked 4 people in my house for their opinions. Rush of Unicorns won convincingly each time. I’m now an hour in to the dry down, and Rush of Unicorns is projecting much more strongly than a supposedly good batch of Creed’s version. In the opening, I feel as though Millesime imperial is more ‘rich’ and salty, whereas Rush of Unicorns is more fresh and sharp. However in the drydown, Rush of Unicorns beats Millesime imperial hands down. In my opinion, if Rush of Unicorns garners more compliments than the older batches of Millesime imperial, there is no point buying the newer versions.

Everything that needs to be said already has been - Rush of Unicorns indeed DOES smell VERY similar to Millisime Imperial. If you've smelt MI then you've smelt this. End of. This is by far the best interpretation I've tried from Parfums Vintage (I still have a few samples to do side by sides with the originals and if any beat this I'll update). Performance is good too. A job well done. Based on this, and better delivery times, things are looking better for Parfums Vintage!

I ordered a bottle and it smells like chemicals. I let age for two months and it has not changed one bit. When I contacted Parfums Vintage, they're response was rude and three weeks late. After 5 pleading attempts they still refuse to give me a refund or exchange. Do not buy from this house!! Thank God for the internet. I will be posting about this on every frag platform. Scummy companies like Parfums Vintage don't last long in today's age.

This isn't even a viable option anymore considering armaf milestone can be found for around $40. Rush of unicorns smells good but nowhere near $180/100ml good. If you're looking for a millesime imperial clone do yourself a favor and get club de nuit milestone- its a no brainer

to me, it smells nothing like MI. just get a blast of menthol and dirt. like if i dropped a peppermint candy onto soil in the garden. no salt, melon or marine notes. it makes me think im smelling the wrong fragrance... i got a decant off ebay but from a very trusted seller.

Very well done. The opening reminds me somewhat of Fahrenheit maybe because of the Sandalwood, Bergamot and Lavender notes. There's a bit of gasoline going on at the start but all in all it's a fresh, clean and bold fragrance. I like it.

Worst customer service I've ever encountered. They didn't ship the item a month later after purchasing and didn't even bother contacting me about it. Even had the audacity to insult me and blame that it's my fault. Ridiculous.

Makes millesime Imperial look like the clone. Just superior performance and Millesime Imperial is just too weak that it's difficult to argue that the quality of MI is better when it's gone in 3 hours - literally.

Worst blind buy ever for me. Like PradaGodFatha just mentioned, go with Armaf Milestone instead. It’s a whole lot smoother and not musty smelling.

Awful company, terrible customer service. Just makes copycats at niche prices. Will never buy anything from them.
