Coconut Lagoon

I just received my bottle today and I've used it twice, once this morning and again in the evening on a different area to check on it and it's performance etc. It really is too early as it will need to develop, although touted as a freshie, kind of freshie at least, I know it's supposed to be hyper sweet and perform really well. After all, it comes from Paris Corner's Ministry of Gourmand label. So my initial thoughts are that it does what it says that it is a sweet, desiccated type of coconut but not overly sweet, at least not right now and it definitely is like a pastry that you get from the patisserie. I don't get too much citrus but I did smell a note of it so let me see how it goes after a month or two as I'm sure it will develop being a Middle Eastern fragrance. I love this house and have bought many from them that have never let me down and they are super well priced and always deliver. I bought this and Voux Zesty as it's now summer and I love a strong citrussy blast and so far the Zesty is good and sharp lime whilst not overtly acidic, just blended with sweet notes but again it will maybe need time. I must say that the presentation of both, especially the Coconut one is fantastic for the price. Maybe a bit gaudy but what the hell, it's around £25 or $30 and for that you get a very heavy clear bottle with a solid, very heavy metal cap that is punctured with 100 little zirconia gems on the top that look fantastic if you're into that sort of thing. I normally prefer something plain and prefer the cost of manufacture to go into the fragrance itself, but they really have pushed the boat out on this one and I've put it on centre display in the shelves next to my designer ones that cost up to 20 times more. The zesty bottle is bright green and fuzzy with a gold coloured solid metal cap and is far better than a cheap plastic one. Kudos to PC for making the experience a good one in both feel and presentation. The juice will no doubt be good and I'm really looking forward to updating in a while. If it is as sweet as it's supposed to be, I'll be moving it away from the Spring / Summer selection as it may be too much for my heat as I'm currently in 44C so around 110F and rising.

G̲̲̲̲̲E̲̲̲̲̲O̲̲̲̲̲ Made an account to review this. Best singular thing I've ever smelt. Tropical, refreshing, sweet lime with a coconut background. Long lasting, slightly above average sillage. Unisex leaning slightly feminine. Half-gourmand. Mostly no coconut, and no caramel at all to my nose. This is the only fragrance I've ever rated 10/10, and the only fragrance I have 2 full bottles of. Only reasons for which you should possibly ever convince yourself to NOT buy: 1. If you don't like sweet | ...this is non-cloying, but some noses might find it sweet. It's a mostly-sweet fragrance, that much is true. 2. If you're looking for a coconut forward fragrance |... this is not coconut forward. This is *lime* forward (for the first couple minutes at least). Candied coconut is in the background -- and many don't smell it at all. 3. If you want something strictly masculine |...this is unisex, and it's possible you may find it too feminine. It's absolutely not too feminine, but your nose could disagree if you're prone to that. It's feminine 52.5% /-/ 47.5% masculine. 4. You want an exact-duplicate clone of Virgin Island Water. Coconut Lagoon 'rhymes' with VIW, but it's not a clone of the scent. It's an original creation. So: don't buy this expecting something non-sweet; something with obvious coconut; or something overtly masculine. Even if you wouldn't want to wear it -- if you like sweet, you're forced to agree this smells amazing. And, if none of those 4 are explicit issues: you HAVE to buy this, it is the perfect summer blind buy, and it just smells good... trust. I'm certain I'll never find a scent that smells this good again. I'm mostly gatekeeping this but there's no chance it doesn't blow up, so I won't lie on here. As someone who primarily wears masculine fragrances (25M) i was not a fan of this fragrance initially due to it smelling too feminine in the opening and having absolutely no longevity. I came here today to discuss how I feel about it now after three months of maceration time. This fragrance is quite linear from opening to dry down. It is a light airy fruity coconut fragrance. It gives coconut sunscreen vibes for sure. Does not give me gourmand vibes at all, despite being in the notes as well as in the name. You get a heck of a fragrance for the price. This one is on the lighter side, so you do have to overspray with this one. I find that five on the neck and three on each arm (11 total) seems to be the magic routine. I must admit, after maceration, it does lean more unisex than when I first bought it. Overall, for the price, you cannot beat this fragrance. This is a great gym/daytime summer wear. I have received multiple compliments while wearing it. Lastly, I’m very impressed with the bottle/packaging quality. Scent 7/10 Performance 7/10 Bang for buck 10/10 Overall 8/10

Nose Note #204 I bought a decant of this alongside with Malibu - Party at Bay as I desperately wanted to try something close to VIW Creed, which is too expensive for me even in the form of a decant. It plays out differently on a paper strip. It's better on paper than on my skin. Well, the two happened to me rather different. PaB is purely coconut with lime, no extra sweetness. Coconut Lagoon is very sweet, but not like BR540, but much sweeter then PaB and that I didn't appreciate. Unfortunately, I think this sweetness is making the fragrance a bit vulgar and with the sweetness comes this not very pleasant undertone. Maybe it's the coconut that is here just a little bit annoying. It's not like the photorealistic coconut in PaB. With PaB it's all very clear for me. It's easy to wear. Coconut Lagoon - that one I have to wear out more. Hard to make an opinion about it. Upd.: I think the sweetness is killing the vibe. It is like pina colada, but too sweet. Closer to a milkshake or a tropical yogurt. Such a shame. It could have been the GOAT.

i'm not big on coconut, but this is the perfect coconut fragrance for me. admittedly, i don't smell half of the notes so some of the complexity is lost on me. but what i do smell, i love. the opening is a burst of citrus, and while lime isn't listed, i guess the combination of the fruits reads as lime to my nose vs lemon and orange. i don't smell apple at all. the coconut isn't a toasted or overly sweet coconut, more of a young coconut. i'm not getting the watermelon, nor the caramel or vanilla-- maybe just a touch of warmth and sweetness from those notes, but only because i'm sniffing for them. this is really just a coconut freshie to me, it smells like a coconut daiquiri (without being boozy, just the coconut+lime combo) and i'm absolutely here for it. i can't wait for the spring/summer, this is a super refreshing fragrance that gives major vacation vibes. i suppose it leans feminine to others, it seems unisex to me because it's not overly sweet. i think this would smell great on a man as well.
