Factory Edition: Just Bergamot

@John Legal (the guy below) Now, I understand that scent is a little subjective. Especially when a fragrance has a "pear" note. Not everyone will think it is pear; maybe some will think it is apple or mango. But they should ALL pick up on something fruity. Maybe a listed note is "sandalwood" but someone might just think it's a woody aroma chemical substitute, maybe even cedar. However, EVERYONE should smell something woody. (I'm not saying this fragrance has woody notes or pear, I'm just using this as a general example). This is why I can't take John Legal's review seriously. No florals? Are you kidding me? It's fine if you think it's not real orange blossom, pettigrain, or neroli. It's even fine if you do not like this frag and think it's flat. But if you cannot smell florals in this, especially 5 minutes after the citrus dies down and well into the mid, then you really, really need to train your nose. Or go to a doctor. Some of these reviewers... I hope I don't sound like a snob, but there's no way smelling strong florals in a fragrance can be subjective. It either has strong florals or it doesn't. They have very distinct aromas. You can't confuse it with woody notes, for instance.

For me, this doesn't smell that close to Bergamot 22. Bergamot 22 has a creamy vetiver, which is absent in Just Bergamot. The profiles are just different, Just Bergamot goes white floral whereas Berg. 22 goes woody. Even from the opening they are not that similar. Side by side, Just Bergamot feels a little "scratchy". By itself, Just Bergamot is nice and got me compliments. Just Bergamot isn't bad at all, and it reminds me of a couple of different things. It also reminds me ever so slightly of Colognize by Nishane, because it seems like they're using the white florals the same way. This one's missing Nishane's nice vetiver dry down though. The vetiver in Just Bergamot is very understated, and it dries down musky, not woody. The DNA is quite common-bergamot citrus with white florals (ala neroli portofino, etc). But if you're looking for a 1 to 1 of Le Labo, you won't find it here. Yet, has that gorgeous opening, very juicy, and expertly done. Not to mention the bottle and sprayer are top quality.

this smells exactly like a honeysuckle bloom to me 10/10 was not expecting this at all. i get mostly sweet + green floral and background of light light light woods (wouldn't ever think this was a wood dominant scent)

Just Bergamot is very close to Bergamot 22 to the average nose. Other people notice it as well.

It performs best when applied to clothing, where longevity improves noticeably. On fabric, it lasts around 7 hours max., with an intimate projection that stays close to the skin. It can be considered unisex, with a well-judged balance. Its affordable price also makes it a solid option within the fresh citrus category.
