From the very first spray, it’s perfection; no aging required! Now, let's talk about something that drives me up the wall: the misuse of the term "maceration" by TikTok and YouTube influencers! In the realm of perfumery, maceration refers to the process where various fragrance oils are blended together in a solvent, usually alcohol, over a specific period of time. During this maceration phase, the fragrance oils dissolve into the solvent, resulting in a cohesive scent. After the desired blend is achieved and fragrance is bottled, then “maturation” or “aging” phase begins. While maceration focuses on the initial blending of the ingredients, maturation is a later stage where the perfume is allowed to settle, allowing it to refine and develop its aroma further. You would think these influencers would take a moment to educate themselves for the sake of their credibility! Instead, many just regurgitate the wrong terminology they picked up along the way, assuming it’s all accurate. But sadly, that’s often not the case! It’s a shame that many influencers lack a real understanding of the correct terms and the fascinating intricacies of perfume production. And by the way, let's not forget—many exquisite Middle Eastern fragrances don’t even require aging!

I've had this for about a year and i have really enjoyed it and used it a lot. Compliments: When i have asked people about how they like my fragrance no one has told me they did not like my perfume. Additionally, most of my friends have also commented on my fragrance without me prompting them. Girls love this in my experience. Use: I let this maturate for 1-2 months before i started using it often. At the beginning this would have been wincing when i intially sprayed it. After maturation, the opening is still very strong but, it settles fast, i use about 4-6 sprays, and i really wouldn't use more than that. It lasts 8+- hours, very solid on my skin. Eternal on clothing. Smell: I have tried side effect multiple times and it is very close, but there are key differences that hold this back from being in the 90-95% closeness. 1. This is less sweet and not sparkling as i feel side effect is in the opening/first 30min 2. This dries down darker and woodier. Someone said there is a oud accord somewhere in the drydown and i agree. Not animalic or strong at all, but it is that type of woodiness imo. It is nothing to worry about at all. 3. A personal caveat/quirk. I cannot stand smelling this after nights out where the perfume gets mixed with cigaret smoke. I loathe the smell of it in the morning haha Grade: 7-8/10

i went of reviews and man... if this smells like initio i get the hype, this slaps and it’s seductive/addictive i keep wanting to smell it it’s not fresh at all which is a plus, some diversity, i don’t have too many perfumes like sub 20 but it’s easily top 3, oh and i don’t think there are any blue batches lol, either way i think it’s gonna get stronger and better smelling over time after oxygen goes in the fragrance and it starts maturing, keep for dates? like that special fragrance i think it’s best suited ofc u can wear whenever u want like any perfume Edit: changed a lot with maturation, and this is weird but i liked the cherry vibe i got in the begin more... now it’s like how niche perfumes smell, grown, dark, but good, don’t get me wrong, also my skin chemistry isn’t amazing with this one on clothes i like it more, but people smell it really well and they like it so happy with it 8/10

I bought this perfume for my SO and I can’t disagree more with comments that smell vanilla, fruits or really any close to sweet. Without a skin test but a spritz in the air gives out 2 strong notes: leather and oud, cold and dry. I don’t see it in the notes but it’s a clear oudy scent. There is a tiny hint of tobacco but it’s so little that I won’t add it. Some saffron but it doesn’t last, it has a moderate projection but certainly on a stronger side. To me, it is very much alike some of the Atelier Cologne scents, it smells expensive and there are no synthetic notes that are a turn off. To summarise, this is a 35+ male perfume and not a casual wear. It would go well in colder seasons and at night. This perfume isn’t unisex or female in any shape or form. It’s not fresh, I would describe it as animalistic and metallic.

After meseration for about two months, I can honestly say this is the best clone of Initio Side Effect I’ve tried. From the opening to the drydown, every note is about 95% similar. If I smelled this on someone else, I would definitely think it was Side Effect. I’ve tested many clones, but Farah stands out as the closest and most well-balanced. If you want Side Effect but don’t want to pay the high price, get this — nobody will notice the difference. I’ve also used After Effect, which leans more woody and harsher, but Farah delivers that smoother, perfectly blended opening and then dries down exactly like Side Effect. Truly impressive work

I have the OG, and I also have Alexandria Fragrances Upside Down, and I have After Effect... I did not get After Effect after French Avenue remixed it and put their stamp on it, as I was burning through my initial bottle. This is the best clone out of all of them, and comes closest to the OG. I would say its about 90% there, but it's very smooth and captivating for a clone. This is the type of fragrance you keep going back to sniff. It doesn't have the push of Upside Down, but it is no slouch, and is very boozy. Love it. 9 out of 10.

this is way more sweeter than after effect, after effect has a weird sharp metalic note and the leather is more pronounced in it , even though leather is not listed as a note i can definitely sense it. in farah the notes are blended at perfection, i can even smell that cinnamon touch that is present in the original side efect, whereas in after effect i can only smell 3 things: medicine, leather, metal , overall this is the best clone for side effect imo.

Beautiful work by Paris Corner. They catch the beautiful essence of Side Effect, complementing it with a slight Middle Eastern, powdery twist, which reminds me of the ''Middle Eastern nature'' of Lattafa's Qaa'ed. Great longevity and projection. Bottle is new, so can't wait for it to develop. Edit: This smells a lot like Ameer Al Oudh Intense from Lattafa on my skin, which i've grown to dislike as a whole, and never really find myself reaching for.

I agree with other posts, you HAVE to let this macerate over 3-4 weeks before making a judgement on this fragrance. When I first smelled it, the booze was very pungent and was very overwhelming. Almost a tar like smell. But after testing it out after a month, it has smoothened out a whole lot and now you can pick up on the tobacco and cinnamon. Went from a 5/10 to a 9/10, a beautiful boozy tobacco scent.

this has developed a lot better since initial opening and i saw someone under me mentioning there’s no tobacco nor rum, which is false not even a debate, he might have to get his nose checked lol, it has developed after 2 weeks or something much more mellow, dude should try some maturation before commenting maybe idk.. don’t wear it when it’s hot unless there’s tons of air conditioner

Compared to the original, it’s pretty good. The original is much smoother and has way more almost fruitiness to it. As well as booze. Farah is a little harsh in the opening with a shit ton of saffron, which is pretty far from the original. The dry down is amazing tho, almost giving it a cherry feeling mixed with the tobacco.

Rich, masculine, beautiful fragrance at a great price. Love the booze, smoke/tobacco and woodsy notes. This was a GREAT blind buy. This is just the sort of thing that makes collecting fragrances fun. Just get this stuff. It's REALLY good and what the heck is the risk?? Overall - 8.75 / 10.00

Received today but already like this a bit more than Aftermath. Slightly spicier and not as heavy on the cherry/vanilla like Aftermath. Edit: Only negative after day one.....I wish the bottle was a deep dark purple

The way any new clone of the same fragrance gets hyped is insane. 99% mindgames .....biggest difference is skin chemistry. Stick with what you like or you will forever search for the "best" version

Received it as a free bonus from order and I thought I'll hate it because it has tobacco note and i didn't know it's supposed to be an inspiration of a niche fragrance, when it first arrived I hated the smell but let it settle for days and I actually liked it , however this kind of smell is not my type but I would like it on someone else. This is absolutely a winter night time only fragrance it's very heavy.

Farah is a sweet, boozy fragrance with a subtle cherry note that feels elegant . Inspired by Initios side effect. Gentleman. Smooth and polished, it’s made for special occasions rather than daily wear. Something more for grown ups with solid performance with moderate projection and good longevity. I would buy it again.

Beautifully mysterious fragrance, the boozy notes flow perfectly with tobacco and cinnamon. I also have a decant of the after effect and can tell this one is the better fragrance. However, there is a distinct dusty aspect of after effect that I wish this one also had. 8/10

Not sure if a bad batch. But this does not smell like the notes that are listed. Massive hit of ambers and woods. Spicy and tobacco. Not bad. But not for me. Was really expecting something much more different. Much smoother, more boozy and tied up. The dry down is alright, but again. Nothing luxurios. It's a simple fragrance. But not wowing. If this is what It's supposed to smell like and close to the orginal though.... Yeah $530 AUD is way too much for what it is. Again, I'm not saying It's horrible. I'll still wear this. But didn't WOW me. Smells similar to many other things out there.... Atkinsons Pirate Grand Reserve is much more better for me. Paris Corner Farah. 6/10. Not bad. But I'll use it as a work scent on my daily tradie job out in the open. Maybe I'll grow to like it eventually. Performance and longevity are great though. Just the scent not for me. A dupe of Atkinsons Pirates Grand Reserve though..... Now that would be something special.

This has the same vibe as side effect, beautiful bottle and presentation as well. I’d say in the air of someone was wearing this I’d think they were wearing side effect, you’re getting great value for your money with this one, definitely a winter fragrance,but you can pull it off on a cooler summer night. Probably best for date nights or clubbing. You’d want to wear this dressed up as well, and when I say dressed up I don’t mean black tie, just that you have style, can be any style as long as it’s done well.

Not powdery- DRY. Spices I smell are cloves, resins, cinnamon. Needs more vanilla. Tobacco should be sweet but it’s not. No rum at all. This fragrance would’ve been so much better if there was a noticeable rum, vanilla, and sweet tobacco.The scent is ok but it smells unfinished. This was a blind buy. . If I would’ve smelled this in the store, I would not buy it.I Unisex

Reminds Side Effect on the opening, but develops absolutely differently and not very nicely. No tobacco or rum here. Instead, it smells like some cheap candies from my childhood.

I purchased mine in May from Aroma Concept. I let the perfume mature for 4 months. The scent is great for 10 minutes. I cannot smell anything after 10 minutes at all.

@RozM you cant be any further from the truth. instead o asking chatgpt what maceration means, go pick up a perfumery book by any master perfumer like jean claude elena or even 'scent and chemistry' and you'll find out that 'maturation' means to age the concentrate (prior to dilution by ethanol) for several weeks, while the term 'maceration' means to soak/steep, which signifies a long process of dissolving in ethanol in which many different chemical and physical process occurs, some taking months to be even noticeable. one such chemical process can be the smoothening of aldehydes, which can self polymerise and become smoother, less sharp and thicker (one example is vanillin which darkens and becomes softer, creamier and more powdery) another is resinous acids like benzoin (most resins are acidic when dissolved in ethanol) or just straight up phenolic acids like vanillic acid that reacts with ethanol and forms esters like ethyl vanillate. this is a very time consuming process as esters are usually formed faster with heating under reflux. esters are usually more fruity and sweet, but very strong. thats why after 'maceration' fragrances smell stronger and different. before sprouting nonsense, please get ur sources from trustable sources.

the opening is a blast of sweet and boozy rum with saffron and i can smell woods(cedar i assume since it's in the notes) and a light tobacco. no vanilla inthe opening but for me it smells heavnly. it actually changed since i've got it 3months ago and it less middle eastern type smell, 3 month ago the saffron was overpowering. last 6-7h and projects beastly for the first hour then it's a nice scent bubble. it is a heavy scent so i suggest to spary 3 times on the arms possibly or on the back of the neck so u don't get a headache

This is a boring DNA. I don't know why these companies insist on cloning this. If the fragrance being cloned sucks to begin with, why do we have fifteen clones of this? Side effect, paragon, luminous night, they all smell the fucking same. And when you total all the redundant dna's involved, there are like 50 clones that cover this dna. Please fucking stop. Clone some discontinued stuff that maybe the community actually wants. There are literally dozens and dozens that they could resurrect.

One of the most saffron heavy fragrances I've smelled ever -- it's only slightly boozy, the rum note does not stand out in particular to me in contrast to the spice. To me there's a strong fruity note with a jammy undertone -- like the smell of an intense pear and cherry marmalade or a black plum spread. Farah comes across almost gourmand to me because of this. Very beautiful and unique.

So it’s very similar to Side Effect and if you’re on a budget it will scratch the itch. But smelling the OG on one hand and the Farah on the other, I pick up more of a medicinal cherry note in Farah and a smoother finish in the OG.

Has anybody got the new batch? I’m seeing that there is a perfume by Paris corner named farah edp but it has a blue color? I doubt it was for legal reasons since the bottle doesn’t even look life side effects!?️!?️

This is identical to French avenues after effect, probably 5% less sweet. Pick whatever is cheaper.
