Khayal

I haven't tried PDM Valaya or any of it's dupes by Afnan or Maison Alhambra so I cannot compare those to this one. But on its own it's such a "happy dose" scent. It's sort of like an orange creamsicle, but not in a girly or immature gourmand way, not overly sweet or cloying. Nothing sticky about this one. It's actually quite the opposite, the fragrance is very refreshing and uplifting. I guess for me the creaminess comes from the musky base, the florals in this are very nice and pleasant. I blind bought it, expecting it to be more sparkly citrus, but I'm not unhappy with what it turned out to be. I don't have anything that smells like this, so it's definitely a win. I layer this with other summer freshies. In the UAE heat of over 50°c I'm certainly more into fresh, clean, citrusy fragrances now. And this one checks all the boxes for me. Definitely recommended!

First off I really like this perfume. Is it a Valaya clone? No, but it does live in the same city just not in Valaya's fancy neighborhood. The opening is sweet musk and citrusy. After the citrus dies down that's when the Valaya vibe kicks in. It's not as woodsy, aldehydic, or elegant as Lady Valaya but they're friendly associates imo. Great for spring and fall windy days.

In a few words : soapy, orange musk ! If you have already smell Japanese shampoo you kinda get that same vibe. I was genuinely surprised by this scent in a good way. I really like it, such a clean, easy, wearable fragrance. It’s definitely a bubble scent but I love to wear at home, so cozy

Excellent. I don't like Valaya at all because of the Akagalawood. I'm crazy about Fleur Narcotique DNA, but I wouldn't really say it's in that vein either. But this is just gorgeous on its own or to be layered.

Just first impressions, the opening was a little lemony with a tiny bit of lemon cleaner smell. It’s a little screechy in the opening. I get the tiniest bit of a fluffy almond in the mid, and a strong powdery note in the base. This was a blind buy, it is a nice summer fragrance.

To me, it does not resemble Valaya. It lacks the akigalawood note and other pleasant aspects that Valaya has and feels like a toned down, bland, uninspired clone. As a stand alone fragrance, I would not wear it, as something feels odd when I put it on. Longevity is about 2-3 hours max and projection is not bad. Overall: skip/10

This doesn't smell at all like Valaya to me. But also, I'm not the biggest fan of Valaya. This is very bright, VERY orange citrusy musk (on my skin). I'm not mad at it. I wont rebuy, but I wont declutter either. I will use it up over time. I'd give it a a solid 6.75/10

Smells like a combination of Valaya plus Fleur Narcotique with the citrus dialed up especially at the opening, but the dry down smells like Valaya. Not bad, but I wish the extra citrus wasn’t added. Still prefer Maison Alhambra’s version, it is softer and smoother.

This is a brighter more citrus version of Perfums de Marly's Valaya. It's of the same DNA but not the same. This a little too strong and mature for me. I will say this will last on your skin all day! I prefer the original Valaya take.

It’s not a dupe of ”Valaya” but it has some similarities. I like it A LOT! Fresh, citrusy and a bit sweet. A simple perfume. PERFECT for the spring and summer! 7,5/10.

I get dryer sheets. Now that I’ve had it a while it’s not “stick your face in fresh box of bounce dryer sheets” but it’s def. Still there. I feel like now that it’s settle I get more of the sweetness (by no means is it sweet), but I find it very easy to layer with stuff. Overall not a hate, but won’t repurchase

The scent itself is really nice, like shampoo in luxury hotel. But it doesn’t last longer than 30 minutes
