Ophidian Black Cherry

Ophidian Black Cherry opens with a vibrant burst of cherry, YES. There's CHERRY. Thick boozy cherry with raspberry, and bergamot—an inviting trio that instantly awakens the senses. It's a heavy perfume and longevity is about 7 hours. It projects nicely and leaves a nice trail within the first few hours. Someone said, "it's a Vampyre perfume". Lol. I have to agree. It does really give off the dark and mysterious gothic vibe. It's very similar to a combination of the Burning Cherry perfume and TF lost cherry. The bottle is very cool and absolutely gorgeous.

I have been wanting this but hesitated bc of the oud. After just finding an oud fragrance that agreed with my chemistry, I bit. Very glad I did bc umm, this is the dark, sultry, cherry I have craved. The opening is a lil boozy cherry blast mixed with the other fruit. Then the praline smooths the slight bite from the raspberry & bergamot. The heliotrope adds a sweet yet subtle powdery essence which smoothly blend to the rose as it comes in. The rose is not dark, it’s more like a pink rose bud. The oud welcomes the base notes which are a lil spicy on my skin. The dry down maintains the spice blended flawlessly with a cherry oud. I have edited bc this has changed, it is sweeter, still everything above, just a touch softer. Lasted 8 on skin, gotta wash the clothing. I layer over Cherry Kiss oil, perfect together. 50/10

This is very unisex. There's a dark black cherry opening that sticks around, theres also florals, lots of woods, you can make out the guaiac and Palo Santo .. with maceration the woodiness of this fragrance got stronger.. and it's not too sweet to be Feminine and not too woody to be masculine either.. either view it as a sweet masculine fragrance or a darker sexy feminine fragrance depending on your perspective. If you're looking for something more sweet and feminine (also lasting) that still has a nice juicy cherry note and florals but less woods, try afnan cherry bouquet. To me that is more cherry in the dry down. The Woods in this are not too super-ambery thankfully so it's not sharp, it's relatively smooth which is nice. It smells complex and perfect for fall and winter. Great scent.

I don't get why Cherry is not listed as a note here on fragrantica because Cherry is very prominent to me in this fragrance.. it has a very juicy black cherry that is prominent throughout and stays on your skin unlike the kayali version which fades away. This is a very boozy woody fragrance though with a bit of florals so you have to like all those notes in combination, but it doesn't have any strong ambry-base notes though unlike some middle Eastern fragrances it's still quite smooth in the base. I don't know why on some people it doesn't last to me it lasts a long time I've sprayed it the night before and still smell it in the morning. Do we have the same fragrance? Cherry is the main note here just confused why it's raspberry because I don't get raspberry.

This scent is everything i wanted in a perfume. its dark, on me i smell it very smoky (something that i love). At first i can feel the cherry but in a few minutes, i can really smell the oud (not the biggest fan), but when its all set, gives the perfect dark, elegant, mature perfume. But my problem is the bottle. im not a fan of extra bottles, even tho this one i kinda like, is still very unpractical. i got this perfume TODAY...and the cap comes of so hard, that when i tried to open the bottle...the snake literally fell of. and the leaf is hurting my hand when i try to open the cap. based on the scent only...this perfume is 100% worth it.

I blind thought this based off reviews and so glad I did.. I'd been looking for a perfect juicy black cherry fragrance that actually lasts and this one absolutely lasts. Also I didn't want any other strange notes like leather to take away from the Cherry but the notes here just enhance it. I can safely say that if I never try another cherry frag I'll be happy to stop here. But I always like trying new ones. It's not really a dupe for kayali... The cherry part smells similar but the dry down isn't the same and with kayali it fades faster. Ok but the lid sucks I have this and mango bliss and the lid is near impossible to get on lol

I LOVE this scent so so much, I fell in love the first time i used it!! But then it broke my heart that it faded away so fast... It is a very lovely sweet cherry scent, with a slight smokyness/woodyness to it. The cherry is not at all synthetic like most cherry perfumes that smell like cough syrup. Its dark and boozy. But on my skin it fades rather fast, especially the cherry note.. Its gone after 1-2 hours. The sweet base stays a little longer, but overall Im not satisfied with the longevity.

Probably the most sensual perfume I own. It's boozy cherry but more on the dark and mysterious side, with a background of praline and wood, very silky and alluring. I would imagine this perfume being worn by a Bond girl, dressed in nothing but lace, seducing Bond into making him do whatever she wants :)) Just lovely.

This is my first cherry scent and I am in love with it. It is juicy without being too sweet. This is one of those perfumes that makes me feel like I nailed my scent profile every time I wear it. I pair it with Sand and Fog Vanilla Sugar for a beautiful and lasting experience.

One of my biggest fragrance loves of all time has been Elisabeth Arden's 5th Avenue Royale , what a wonderful surprise that I found here similarities with it! This just has a lot more deep and potential, and this really is a Cherry scent. Wonderful.

I simply do not agree with the reviews I've seen. Maybe it's how Ophidian Black Cherry smells on me. It is a very strong Bing cherry and whipped cream smell. That's it. Nothing complicated. Very straightforward.

Love this so much more than the Kayali fruity apple one (too much like air freshener). I get sour raspberry/tart cherry, sweet pear, and soft woody notes in the background. Love it.

Not candy sweet, not overly sharp. Just a rich boozy cherry that settles into warm woods and amber.

Ok, the notes listed here are not complete. There's an incense note that is definitely there and at initial spray a cherry note that continues on to the middle notes. This perfume is bold it is for people who love the attention. Definitely suits both men and women. Dark smokey and a little sweet not too much just enough not to be harsh. This was right at first spray from the bottle, might edit after i leave it to mature and comeback if there's a change. Score: 5/10 Edit: it's been three days and i like it more now. The incense note is less sharp, well blended. Right after initial spray i get a creamy coconut note. The tonka is there not sweet, the sweetness is balanced. The cherry does continue from beginning to dry down (dark cherry) very good Score: 7/10

This fragrance smells exactly like what you smell when you bite into a black cherry in all its depth with a little added sweetness and less earthiness like when you are eating black cherry ice cream or drinking cherry coke. I would say that it's more suited for warmer weather and it's perfect for layering with something else that has sweet and spicy notes (or a rum note) even with it's fairly strong sillage. I don't regret buying this blind. It smells exactly like what they named it. I should also add that the box and bottle are aesthetically beautiful.

So I've been sleeping on this one because the first time i tested it on paper it smelt like a sweet fart. But I tried it again at the shop and with all the positive reviews adn hype around this (plus the beautiful bottle) I bit the bullet and got me a full bottle. I realised the first mistake I made was test this on a tester paper and not on skin.. on teh tester it smells off. But on skin it blooms and the beauty of the fragrance is revealed. Very elegant, refined scent that is well blended. Smells more expensive than it actually is. What a beauty.

Exactly as the name implies it’s a dark sweet syrupy, almost boozy cherry, it’s not fruity this is dark slightly spicy with deep woody base (i get a palo santo and tonka🥹) but not strong or overpowering. It does have slight tobacco vibe (not particularly smoky). For 20$ it’s surprisingly good, it smells rich (not the best ingredients quality but the vibe overall is expensive, for sure better than lost cherry, la petite robe noir etc.). Strong like for winter🥰

I like this! It’s a deep, dark, intoxicating, smoky and slightly bitter cherry scent. However, I do agree with some people- I wish the cherry was a little stronger. It is similar to Kayali Burning Cherry, but that one seems a tad bit brighter and juicier to me. Overall I highly recommend this one, so worth it for the price. Also, the bottle is interesting 😍 I don’t like snakes, but the gold snake on the bottle is quite cool.

@Blossomlove I thought I was the only one who don't like the cap because it looks like Delia Deetz's sculpture. LOL However,I do like the snake. For the scent itself, a lovely dark and creamy cherry scent which is not too sour or medicinal. Love at first spray. BUT very weak....if it was stronger this would be a big love for me. Maybe my bottle need to macerate a little. Overall, a happy purchase.

Smells like black cherry cola syrup with wood. Strong. Likeable but I prefer cherry ambition which is more of a sliced warm cherry.

This is red-fruity wine, think sangría, cherry included, with a sweet woody base, patchouli, and a bit of incense. In the drydown, I also get a bit of coconut, though it is not listed, mixed with vetiver and patchouli. This is nothing like TF Lost Cherry, TF Cherry Smoke, or any of their clones. I have not tried Kayali’s Burning Cherry, so I cannot comment on that. However, this does not go into cherry-almond territory at all. It is moderately sweet, dark, unisex, and quite long lasting. As a scent, it is interesting and smells complex, but for a deep, vampy cherry, I prefer La Collection d’Antiquités 1505 from Lattafa. The notes listed here are wrong. The actual notes from the Paris Corner website are: Top notes: cherry, raspberry, bergamot, woody notes. Middle notes: praline, heliotrope, rose, oud. Base notes: tonka bean, patchouli, vetiver, incense.

I have just sprayed this out for the first time after receiving it and I have to say the bottle is gorgeous, but I'm not so sure the fragrance was what I was expecting. It smells very medicinal like cherry mixed with TCP and then a sprinkle of baby powder thrown into the mix. I wonder if like all other middle eastern fragrances I should leave it to sit for a while? It has a very soft projection and sillage. Edit: I have now worn this two days in a row now and I will say that this is a lot stronger than I first thought. It lasts for hours on skin and clothes. I still get a baby powder scent to this which is not off putting at all as I like baby powder, but something else in the mix is playing havoc with my sinuses. I just can't stop sneezing when I have this on. Maybe I will try to be a little less heavy handed with my sprays.

First and foremost, the box lists Cherry as a top note but it seems to be absent here on fragrantica? This isn’t bad but I wanted this to be more Cherry focused like the name implies. This really is a woody-oud amber fragrance before a fruity one. Deep, rich, and velvety, but within a minute or two after the initial spray, the cherry is gone and whatevers remains of the Raspberry is left doing the heavy lifting. I wouldn’t recommend this to someone looking for a Cherry perfume, but would to someone looking for a woody, sultry, feminine addition to their collection. 🤠

I waited several months, but this fragrance still fails to deliver. Whilst not unpleasant, it lacks the jammy, thick, and seductive black cherry I anticipated. Instead it evokes the scent of faded, scented paper. Even the palo santo and vetiver do not emerge, neither on skin nor clothing. So if you don't like loud fragrances, Ophidian is perfect. 🍒 But if you are seeking a mature, woody cherry, I would suggest Lattafa’s La Collection d’Antiquités 1505. Alternatively, for a jammy, dark and playful scent, Mayar Cherry Intense is an excellent option. 🍒

Attractive scent. A dark sour cherry, but very poor performance imho. I have spray and spray and spray and spray. And 5 mins later... nothing... so I wait and later spray again and again and again... on clothes and skin eventually maybe I can smell myself and it’s coming ff the clothes not the skin. And yes I moisturize. My bottle is about 3 weeks old. Maybe it needs more time but... There’s a reason why designer perfumes are more expensive. I’ve never had a designer one that i couldn’t smell.

Gave this a try as I already own Kayali burning Cherry, which this is supposed to be a dupe of but I find this slightly more lighter , fruity and less boozey like the Kayali. This is ok but I found the cherry more light and it fades faster and its missing that sweet dense base that kayali BC has. Its a like but not enough to own a full bottle because I prefer Burning Cherry better or Tom Fords Cherry Smoke. 6/10

No cherry to be found. Bought this instead of Kayali. Choked with myself, should've bought the OG & not wasted my money Woody Raspberry. Lasts 15mins at best. Totally agree with the other user that mentioned Bath & Body Works body spray like preformance. Quickly dries down to a powdery, herbal deodorant type scent.

nice cherry fragrance. It is well blended where its not a synthetic cherry or smells like cherry cough medicine. I just wish it was more sweet in a creamier way, personally i think its a bit too dry for me.

This is a slightly more synthetic and generic take on every other dark cherry scent on the market right now. There are so many affordable options with the same DNA- this would not be my first choice.

Theres a soft drink in NZ called Ch'i which is made out of Kiwifruit juice, honey; and Chinese herbals like Ginseng and Gotu Kola. I SWEAR, This perfume smells like I fell into a vat of Ch'i.

Something almost gasoline-esque and bitter on my skin. I really wanted to love this but it’s a hard pass :(

I blind bought this over six months ago, and with time, it has only become more sour and woody. Now, all I can smell is an intensely sharp, screechy wood bark—no cherry, no praline, no fruitiness except for a very sour vinegar like raspberry, no tonka, and absolutely no smoothness. It’s so harsh that every attempt to layer it with another fragrance has failed. I have tried Lattafa's Eclair and sprayed a lot of it with a touch of black cherry but it doesn't work as black cherry is very sour and just doesn't play along with eclair . When I first sprayed it, there was a slight sweetness, a touch of sparkle, and it was less sour. Unfortunately, as it sat, those qualities disappeared completely. If anyone has found a way to successfully pair this with another fragrance to make it less sour and more balanced, please let me know!

FYI: Whoever added all the notes up here - the notes listed on here are wrong. And this is a cherry scent, with cherry in the name, and you didn’t even add the cherry note. According to one of the other websites I looked at, it is inspired by Lovefest Burning Cherry | 48 by Kayali. __________________________________ Edit: I bought a sample. After the spray, I get a blast of a not very sweet kind of medicinal cherry cough syrup smell with a hint of cinnamon in the background that makes it smell like a hot cherry (as in heat) from the spiciness of the cinnamon. This isn’t a very cherry-forward perfume and the cherry note doesn’t last very long - skip this one if that’s what you were hoping for from this perfume. I imagined this perfume to be much sweeter, much more gourmand and way more cherry-forward than what it is now that I’ve actually tried it. I wouldn’t say this one smells sweet at all. I also wasn’t expecting it to be so weak and short-lived - the blast of cherry lasts a few seconds after spraying and then the perfume becomes very weak quite shortly after that. As far as cherry perfumes go, I haven’t tried many others to compare this to - but by far my favourite (and the only one I’ve smelled so far that IS actually a cherry-dominant perfume), is Hamidi’s Divine Cherry (not to be confused with Sublime Cherry). I blind-bought Divine Cherry by Hamidi not long ago because I was so curious about it and was looking for a fruity perfume and really love gourmands and most of the notes listed (all of the ones I’ve smelled before!) and luckily, I LOVED it and it quickly became my new favourite perfume out of my small collection. So, I’ll say if you’d like a more gourmand, more sweet, more cherry-forward perfume that smells reminiscent of a creamy cherry bakewell/marzipan/a sweet amaretto, where the cherry note lingers around the entire time and the perfume seems to project a bit better and last longer than Ophidian Black Cherry, then I’d recommend you try Divine Cherry over this. It won’t be a beast-mode fragrance, but the performance still seems much better than Ophidian Black Cherry, and a much more cherry-forward scent. I also think Divine Cherry just smells much nicer in general (in my opinion). (Although a word of warning: Hamidi’s Divine Cherry - and all Hamidi’s perfumes - are alcohol free, so keep that in mind. I’m not sure if it would stain some fabrics, but it was fine on my pink acrylic knit shirt and my white cotton shirt. I’d be careful with fabrics like satin that are prone to showing obvious stains, though.)

Bottle is cute and scent is on the vampire side. I get an initial blast of cherry, some raspberry afterwards a hint of florals and some woods. I can tell this is rich but it seems well blended enough to where I can’t pick out a single note outside of cherry and a smidge of earthy woodiness. This has great longevity and projection though, it lasts over 7 hours for me. I’m sure this just needs some time to macerate in order to deepen up and smell richer because straight out of the box it’s quite nice and easily a crowd pleaser but I was expecting a darker fragrance. This is a good blind buy especially as an intro to dark feminine scents.

Really disappointed. I fall for it every time! People describe the scent as jammy, boozy, sweet etc.... Let’s be real. It’s dryer sheets! It smells of nothing but powdery, generic dryer sheets. Nothing mysterious, nothing vampy, nothing sexy. Very boring and not something I would choose to smell like. 😩

I used to love Fragrantica and found it quiet helpful, it is really sad how more and more Fragrances the Notes are incorrect, this one has about half of the notes wrong compared to the website of Paris Corner, it is called black cherry but here it doesn't even have cherry in it

Opening week is oud, like real assam oud (very surprisingly) and not much else - does anyone know how much time it needs to sit before any other notes come out? Edit: weak sauce but the profile is cute, a hindi oud accord + cherry+heliotrope. Veeeeery very very VERY mild tho.

Why is this perfume named as it is when there is no cherry in it? Also, how does it then remind people of other fragrances that do contain cherry as a note? Raspberry and Cherry are not the same.

This is. Nice Cherry but very poor performance. Will not buy gin. Bath and body works spray last longer. Not worth the money even though it is cheap.

To my nose this is a dark sexy cherry fragrance, something a vampire would wear on date night . I personally love it and the bottle is just stunning
