Thailand Oud in Cairo

Never smelled xerjoff Luxor but this one for 47AED hardly 12.80$ is a steal imo. It’s dark,mysterious,ashy,Smokey and very woody. The oud in this one is more murky and astringent. In my opinion this one is like Encre Noir If it was a middle eastern creation and was targeted for an older audience. Ministry of oud line up on its own has a lot of good gems. The incense,cinnamon and tobacco are the first things that’ll hit you and the rest. Is this a bad clone?idk it’s pretty tight It has a very loud opening and an amazing dry down.some hate it some love it Is this a bad fragrance on its own? Nope not at all it projects somewhere near 8-9 hours for me because my bottle has been macerating for the past 2 months and I don’t regret my decision of buying this at all. My bottle projects 8-9 hours but first 4 hours solid projection and sillage for sure It’s been 8 hours I can still smell it on my hand Lasts and projects somewhat better on clothes aswell Longevity for me tho it’s definitely 12-13 hours minimum.Overspraying can extend that And for 12.80$ I must admit the quality of the materials used in the juice is super niche quality nothing synthetic (varies Batch by batch) This is deffo a winter and night time scent Who should buy this fragrance? Someone who wants a super masculine woody edge in their fragrance. Someone who wants to smell oriental and as hell Someone who likes middle eastern fragrances Someone young in their 20-30s who wants to smell 10 years older Someone who’s definitely in their 40s What image does this fragrance create in my head when I smell it? I imagine men in all black suits like John wick and rich middle eastern men in a majlis(tent)smoking hookah while luban or myrhh is burning in the background. Like I said before the opening is very harsh but not synthetic and there’s only a hint of sweetness but that’s okay I personally layer it with lataffa’s raghba wood intense because they smell similar.Raghba wood intense is must a mellower but sweeter fragnance still kinda woody but eh it’s mad good So yea Price:10/10 Presentation:8/10 Juice:11/10 Longevity:9/10 Projection:9.5/10 Sillage:8/10 Worth the purchase? 100% Note: First 2 months or 1 month it’ll only last 7-8 hours but trust me personally you won’t get anything better for 12.80 hard to get stuff that lasts even 3-4 hours in that price range at times EDIT 2025: The fragrance is on it’s last few sprays and it has been super well blended. Also smelled Luxor irl THIS IS 98.9% ACCURATE and that remaining % is just the lack of skankiness that the ratios of real oud absolutes are included in the fragrance. Anyhow imo just as potent and kinda more well blended and aromatic. Luxor is more oud heavy yet the character remains the same.

Initially, it boasts a robust sillage, but this too quiets down rather swiftly, much like the sun setting over the Nile; its presence powerful yet transient. However, its blend is still very much cherished for its intriguing and slightly feminine touch, incorporating a sense of animalistic mystery that's hard to ignore. The name, Thailand Oud in Cairo, encapsulates the essence of this fragrance perfectly, hinting at its exotic and complex nature, a fleeting pleasure, much like the memories of a distant land. In pursuit of this olfactory treasure, I explored three different variants from the Ministry of Oud. However, due to their hefty price tags, they were returned, leaving Thailand Oud in Cairo as the chosen scent, not only for its relative affordability but also for being the most compelling of the lot. It's lauded for its exceptional originality, especially the animalistic oudy notes which are generally particularly adored by me. The fragrance is characterized as balsamic, spicy, sour, and distinctly leather, creating a sensory experience that's far from ordinary. Thailand Oud in Cairo is not a fragrance crafted for universal appeal; it is a personal indulgence, a secret shared between the wearer and those closest to them. It's a scent that chooses its wearer, not the other way around, making it a special addition to any collection. Bottom line: A modestly priced fruity-oudy that I really enjoy! Presentation: Simple, solid bottle. Feels sturdy and heavy in the hand. I appreciate that some additional expense was incurred to offer such weight. The cap is purely friction, no magnetic lock. Fragrance: At this price point ($19 USD) it's not entirely surprising that the opening is strong perfumer's alcohol, though not as offensive as some Lattafas I've sampled as of late. The alcohol distracts from a fleeting volatile mint that I was surprised by, I actually jumped with delight for the few seconds it was present because it was reminiscent of the shocking commencement of Frederic Malle's Geranium Pour Monsieur. Thailand Oud in Cairo is spicy, enjoyably so, with a pleasant and inoffensive oud in the background. As others have noted, there's apple here, but my interpretation is not of apple pie but rather a freshly cut mild apple and a bit of wild grape. Don't worry, there's no sour Granny Smith (no digs on Granny Smiths, they're my favorite variety). The fruit eventually matures to become a mulled wine. Something about Thailand Oud in Cairo melds beautifully with my natural scent and that's ultimately why it's a keeper; after several hours it assumed this ambient quality and became a part of me. Do not expect a powerhouse or sillage for miles, this is not a nuclear oud that tries to distract from its deficits with bombast. Cairo Oud is subtle, even a tad bit classy. As this Ministry of Oud concoction punches well above its $20 weight class and it inspired a few surprised reactions, I may consider it an autumnal casual office day or weekend regular that beats many more expensive contenders in my collection.

#640 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Between the cinnamon and cardamom I'm picking up apple pie here. On the lighter, sweeter side, not the heavy, earthy oud you get from some oud scents. Hint of incense, tobacco and leather, but just hints. Carpool, elevator and office safe. Good for casual wear too. Mild projection from a single spray, but I think that's the right amount. Over-spraying this would be a mistake as the sweetness would get very hard to take. Moderate longevity as a skin scent. Killer low price. Just not something I would regularly wear as it borders on gourmand to me. So I'll give this one to a friend.

On my skin I get a lot of smokey-incense type of smell, mixed with some woodiness. I don’t know how it should remind me of Thailand, in some way it reminds me of the herb/drug store near my granny’s house over there. I enjoy it, but it’s pretty strong so be careful with the amount of sprays.
