Voux Patisserie

Let’s get one thing straight, this is gourmand BUT if you DO NOT LIKE cardamom, saffron, or STRONG BOLD fragrances-do not get this! You will be yet another one complaining in the reviews about how you hate it. ...BUT if you’re like me, a person who appreciates a gourmand that is not for wilting delicate flowers or simplistic single note enthusiasts, you will love this. It has a delicious warm milk accord going on here underneath the tangerine(that reads like an orange creamsicle) and an apple/rose note that is you’re similar to the apple rose note in Qissa Pink. Opulent is a word that comes to mind when I’m wearing this. Rich, luxurious, sensual, spiced Basically this perfume is: Rummy, almond paste. On top of orange vanilla creamsicle. Cardamom milk froth, warm milk. Flaky butter pastries. Luxury middle eastern boudoir sandalwood incense-without any smoke I actually smelled this first on a coworker and had to ask her what she was wearing. It commanded my attention so much I couldn’t help but notice. The very first impression I got was a delicious crusty croissant with orange creamsicle and a candy-ish vanilla. Projection is also next to beast level and it lingers for hours on me. Overall one of the best gourmand fragrances I’ve ever bought. Worth every penny spent on this.

This was my first Xerjoff clone and I still haven’t smelled the OG but its also my first intriguing and somewhat “exotic” or foreign (to me) gourmand in my collection. I wear it layered with lactones and vanillas really often. Since I didn’t experience middle eastern desserts and spices until well into adulthood, I’m learning that I have an early childhood smell association with saffron and cardamom that reminds me of herbal hair pomade. The translucent ones with specks and flakes of ground herbs and spices that would get stuck in your hair after you used them, but your aunties swore it kept your scalp and hair healthy (it did.) Anywho whenever I manage to not think of getting my hair braided too tight on first whiff, its one of my favorite fragrances. Its rich, aggressive, complex, and sultry. Its sticky sweet and reminds me of a beautiful south asian woman making baklava for her lover, a warm day in the oven-hot kitchen with sweet spiced pastry soaked in rose water honey and garnished with a citrus zest, attar oils radiating from the back of her neck.

I'm not sure where the hate is coming from for this one. It was loveeeeee at first spray for me. You get a jammy whiff of tangerine marmalade mixed with cardamom, milky caramel, and creamy vanilla. I don't really pick up on any apple or any "bread" notes. It sounds like a strange combination but it all pulls together beautifully. This one doesn't need to macerate but I imagine it will get better and stronger with time. Perfect as is. It lasted on my wrist all day and I was wearing something different to our Christmas Eve family get together. If this is what Italica is I am even more excited to own that one in the future. This is way cheaper and arrived pretty quickly. I only paid like 16 dollars on sale! The bottle is sexy orange velvet. Nothing feels cheap about this experience. I am holding myself back from drowning in this damn bottle. I feel exceptionally dark and delicious, enveloped in a sexy gourmand, soft blanket of happiness. This is everything. If you don't like it, I pity your nose.

Really nice cardamom tangerine scent! I’m a teensy bit disappointed it’s more spicy freshy than gourmand, but if I hadn’t been expecting “pastry” it wouldn’t be an issue. I do get some apple, but to my nose, this isn’t buttery, vanillic, or almondy (as others have suggested) which I think WOULD have given it a bakery accord. Layering this with those kind of scents would take it to the next level! This would be AMAZING with something like Bianco Latte, Chocolate Greedy, or especially Sweet Vanilla (which screams buttery dough). I do like it, but you have to be cool with cardamom. It really reminds me of a girlier Liam Grey, minus the tea note. I haven’t smelled Italica, but I blind bought this because of the comparison. I’ve been DYING for a better performing version of Dua’s French Macaroons, and Italica is supposed to be the deity other almond perfumes pray to... TLDR: I’m glad I have this, but if you want a buttery fresh baked pastry, be prepared to layer.

I really can’t relate to others who have said this was immediately good for them. Straight out of the box this was not something my nose enjoyed in the slightest. Screechy, sharp and disjointed. I stuck it in a dark drawer for about three months and whipped it out the other day and gave it a quick spritz into the air. Oh boy! This has evolved, developed and really come together to form a fluffy spicy marzipan-vanilla bomb! I braved two spritzes into the air and let some settle on my skin this evening and my partner, who normally doesn’t give a damn about my perfume situation, has been unable to resist shoving his nose into my neck. I love this. LOVE this. But it needed to sit a while. So glad I committed (AKA forgot about it!). Will be getting a backup for sure! UPDATE: on a whim I just layered this with Khair Pistachio. WOW! I smell like some kind of delicious nutty, spicy, sweet pastry. YUM!!

UPDATE: I am in love. It's a photo realistic baklava scent. It's not a fantasy approximation of "this is the idea of what baklava smells like," but rather similar to visiting one of the local Middle Eastern bakeries in my area and sticking your nose into the parchment paper of freshly baked baklava—all of the nuttiness, chewy orange blossom honey, saffron, and rosewater with the buttery flakiness of the dough. Please note that it is NOT a traditional cake pastry type scent. Many hear pastry and will think cake. Instead think of pastries that involve phyllo dough or puff pastry like baklava or a Kouign-amann. Think flaky, buttery, and syrupy rather than the denseness of a flour based baked good that relies upon traditional white sugar for sweetness. I think that this could be worn well into the summer without being cloying.

Did I get a bad bottle? The opening notes are so good, a very unique and herbal sweetness. I assume that is the cardamom, tangerine, and saffron. Then after that, I just get waxy crayon. A whole box of waxy crayons. Unrelenting waxy crayons. It definitely lasts because I sprayed a bit on my hand yesterday evening, washed my hands several times yesterday evening just as a matter of basic hygiene yet the scent was indelibly imprinted in the spot I sprayed. I woke up this morning and got a light whiff of something that smelled great. It was the vestiges of the frag left on my hand after numerous hand washings that included copious fully lathered soapings and scrubbing. However beyond the amazing top note and the last dregs of that base note...all I get is waxy Crayola. I am saddened.

Why all the hate 😅😅 This is MY perfume, I bought an unhealthy amount of backup of that perfume and I will make sure I buy enough to never run out 🫣🫣 On me it smells like buttery almond croissant with a hint of fresh tangerine, I get compliments on a regular basis and this never happened to me in the past , I’m always the girl who smells good but now complete strangers ask me what I wear. This perfume performs amazingly well , 8h plus on skin and I have to wash my clothes for the scent to disappear. Mind you I’m a baker so this is right up my alley, it is completely unique and I wear it all the time , any seasons I don’t care , now each skin is different but on me it smells heavenly... OBSESSED 🤩

I think I like this even more than Italica! Voux Patisserie is verrrrrry lactonic, sweet like a creamy dessert and has a pinch of saffron and an orange tangerine/apricot feel to it that is consistent with the orange velvety bottle. Voux Patisserie has a little bit of sharp almost spicy and bitter opening while Italica opens much more nice and blended and very realistically gourmand. Italica opening actually smells exactly like a dessert made with milk, cream, almond, rosewater and suger. After about an hour these 2 smell very similar, voux Patisserie smelling more creamy and sweet and soft and nice, and Italica smelling a tad more oriental gourmand with less cream and more cardamom and almond.

I smell orange, almond, vanilla, baklava, and butter. A rich, dense pastry that you ate but wish you hadn't. Opens a bit strong and harsh, but calms down after 20-30 minutes and is quite nice. Unisex but leans slightly feminine. Pretty. Strong projection at first, then settles down. Lasts a good 10 hours on skin; pretty linear throughout. Not bad at all. Fall/Winter scent. Similar to other frags in my collection, but with a bit of a twist. Warm and inviting. Not expensive, so worth rolling the dice on if you're into these types of scents. Definitely not for the high heat, but I'll roll with this when it's cold outside. Think Nebras with orange and almond notes.

Voux Patisserie is such a beautiful Gourmand and is so much more approachable and wearable then Italica which always came off way to coying. So coying I decanted part of my bottle and added other vanillas with it in order to make it more wearable and likable. So when I received Voux Patisserie and it was ready to wear upon first spray I was so delighted. In the opening you do get the burst of Tangerine but out the gate you're getting the lactonic notes and it's so beautiful. This wears well alone but I love layering it with other Gourmand fragrances🥰👌🏾

I got a little sample to try first. I wasn't sure about it when I first tried it. I think the cardamom was a bit strong and off-putting to my nose. Strangely enough, I found myself craving this scent. It's spicy, sweet and creamy. I swear I smell some kind of bread/baked good note. It's so cozy! It has rose listed but I don't smell any, thankfully. I ended up getting a full-size bottle of this and can't wait for late Fall & Winter so I can wear this regularly. It's definitely too much for warm weather.

I have this for a year now, and I can definitely prove that it smells 99% like Italica now. I have both and I compared them on each wrist. They are almost the same. The only small difference is not in the scent, but projection and longevity. OG projects slightly better and lasts longer, but as I said, the scent is now 99% identical. When I bought it I couldnt wear it, it made me nauseous and it was only slightly similar to OG. But Im so glad I let it macerate

When I tell you I got yelled at, at work about how freaking good I smelled you wouldn’t believe me but it’s true! I first smelled this at my mom’s house and fell in love. It’s a true almond cookie gormand that got me plenty of attention today, so introverts beware lol. Longevity is 8+ hours I still smell it at 6:30 pm sprayed it at 9:30am, it’s that Flippin good, will be buying a back up, and the other flankers if possible, ok Paris corner I see youuuu!!!

I was recommended this as a good dupe for Italica, just like the other reviewer said, it is not close but it smells good as a stand alone fragrance. On my skin it smells clean, like a sweet woodsy soap. I like it a lot, it’s just not Italica. **UPDATE** Let it mature, after letting it mature, it smells very similar to Italica, I just got my second bottle of this!

I understand why this may be off putting to western residing people. It's spicy like a good desi chai with a side of baklava. It's so addictive and complex... it's also a good italica dupe. I love this scent so much i have a back up since I worry it will be discontinued because whiny people can't handle the elegant spice. It's a masterpiece

You literally need to wait at least ONE YEAR before this fragrance reaches its peak level. I have had it for longer than a year and it wasn’t so good at first, but now? I love it! Smells like orange cream and sugar cookies on me. It’s definitely not a safe blind buy though. I must say I do like it much better than Italica.

As others mentioned - it needs to sit for a couple of months, then its almost identical to Italica. Great sillage and longevity. You just need to be patient with it

I feel orange, saffron, almond milk, and honey in it. It starts spicey and ends with sweetness.

This is nice, but not impressive. It's a cozy scent, to me it smells like marzipan. Update: The name of this perfume is quite fit, really reminds me of a patisserie. The marzipan smell is there all throughout the wear, but in the background now, while other notes get on stage. Sometimes I smell candied green apples, with some red berries and milk with powdery saffron (this combination makes me sneeze and reminds me of golden milk), and a faint note of coconut oil. Other times I smell vanilla ice cream or cookie dough with vanilla and rum essence in which were poured slices of mandarine and some spices, mainly a cold saffron. It's interesting and weird at the same time. I would never wear this in summer because those lactonic notes can be extremely bothersome in heat. I like it, but not love it. I must be in a certain mood to wear it. The longevity and sillage are great. On me, it last on skin over 12+ hours, and on clothes until you wash them. This scent is suited for fall and winter in my opinion.

Let me just say the bottle is ugly. It reminds me of the 70’s. It’s velvet! I just got my bottle. It is kind of weird and synthetic, but I kind of like it. Definitely a marzipan vibe. It’s giving Danish pastry vibes and actually reminds me of these almond butter horn pastries they sell at the grocery store here in the U.S along with the plastic wrapper lol. I have high hopes for this one after maceration. I do think it has a nice scent trail, but up close it’s kind of strange. Definitely unique. Will come back to my review. Edit: It is giving burnt plastic mixed with marzipan so a little odd, but I layered with Zara Deep Temptation which has BR540 dna. Pretty good combo. Hopefully Voux Patisserie will get better with time.

I have Italica-copy-oil which is heavenly. Based on the reviews(Italica too), I was afraid this would be something else, an overpowering cardamom or musk, but no. This is identical to my oil. This just requires maceration. But the scent itself; I'm not surprised that this divides opinion, if I had to describe the scent in just one word, I would say "waxy".... You know, the kind described as a "candle scent" and oh boy, how I love that effect! The scent itself is a very milky toffee apricot jammy to my nose. Have you smelled Avon's Far a way Rebel? It has something in common with this. But this is full stuff. 10/10 indeed.

Citrusy fruity floral rosy saffron opening. Slightly juicy but dissipates quickly as most citrus always does. Dried down into a soft floral, woody powdery sweet vanilla sandalwood that sticks around! Very unisex. I think this is traditionally a Fall/Winter type fragrance but this will layer really well with my sunscreen this summer! The Hidden Fantasy Britney comment was spot on, this is less citrus candies cupcake more dry unisex version lol.

I bought this 7-8 months ago and immediately hated it! I put it in a drawer to eventually give away and forgot it there. I started reading that with most Middle Eastern fragrances you have to let them macerate...which unknowingly I had done. I pulled this back out and WOW!! There she is! The reason I bought her...fruity tangerine, soft apple with a hug of vanilla! I don’t get the sweet pastry reference as she’s more fruity floral on me.

I own Italica and i bought this one as an alternative. To my nose the opening is different from Italica, and i prefer Italica's opening, but the dry down is indeed spot on dupe on Italica. Just wait for some 10 mins after the fruity notes settle down and then you're getting an almondy milky desert. But the base of this fragrance is not as smooth and milky as Italica, this difference can be felt after some hours of wear...

Reading the reviews, it feels like everyone is smelling something different. For example, this is giving serious This Is Her (Zadig & Voltaire) vibes to me and I am surprised nobody's mentioning it neither it's in the "This perfume reminds me of" section. Anyway - I'd buy it if I was sure I would get the same thing that I smelled in the store but I'm worried the reviews might be right and every bottle might be different.

This really smells like walking into a French patisserie — you get all the pastries: almond, tangerine, macarons — and yet it still reads as a perfume. It’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea; it’s an acquired scent, like those luxurious desserts that divide people into two camps. I love this, and even with an extensive collection, it feels unique and absolutely worth repurchasing.

I ended up buying the OG without realizing this was a dupe but I’m glad I did. I think the chances of this being really good after sitting for a year are high, but I’ve only had it since June, so we’ll see by next fall. Like I said I’m glad I bought the real deal. This has a lot of potential

What I smelled from first spray was a bit of citrus, almond, vanilla, and sandalwood. This projected for about 8 hours and the skin scent clung to me up to ten hours. It is a bit spicy and a bit powdery. I’m looking forward to a long time in time-out as the profile matures.

This is lovely, but very similar to Hidden Fantasy; the cardamom gives it a bit more depth, and the orange is a touch less "orange candies", but I would say, if you have Hidden Fantasy you don't need this (or vice versa), unless you really love this DNA

After this has been sitting on the shelf for several months, does anyone else get a green, almost sweaty note here?

Uniquely fruity yet warm and a bit spicy. Kind of get hair conditioner vibes, but overall this is very interesting.

If you're looking for an Italica dupe... This is at 80%, maybe a bit lower. The pyramid differences Fragrantica registers are true – this one has a prominent cardamom note, while the original is milky and almondy. The original lasted 14 hours on me (sprayed some time before bed), while this one I can't smell after a bit. I sprayed it 2 and a half hours ago and have completely forgotten about it since it went away. I must say that it might be specific nose-blindness, in which case – I don't go nose blind to the original, YMMV. I'll check with another person tomorrow and be back with an update. Italica is one of my favorites and I was looking forward to finding an affordable substitute, since I had good experiences with some other Arabian clones, but I'll probably be rehoming this one. Not a bad scent, just not the best dupe. If it works for you, great, you have an affordable perfume in your hands.

A fruitier take on the Italica DNA. I assume it’s made with the idea of “Italica but safer for general public”. A citric fresher opening, a zingy fruit vibe throughout while still remaining true to vanilla heavy base. If i were new to fragrances/didn’t have a gourmand preference, i would prefer this over Italica. But i still prefer Italica. The same way Khamrah is not an Angel’s Share clone but moreso inspired, this is definitely doing that too. 7/10 as a fragrance itself 4/10 as an Italica alternative

Vanilla, honey (unsure), apple, tangerine with a hint of cardmom and saffron in the background. Smooth, sweet, rich, fruity gourmand, and soft spicy. Strong sillage and longitivity. Edit: the vanilla scent in here that is initially pronounced is present in many Xerjoff bottles with vanilla accord, I'm very surprised they were able to dupe that part correctly.

Something terribly unsavory about this one. Maybe it is the combination of tangerine, cardamom and saffron in the top that does it, but to me this smelled... how do I say this... yucky. :( I'm not a fan of gourmand fragrances for context, so perhaps it's a me problem.

Smell is great, performance is god awful sadly. Longevity is good but projection is literally 2/10 unless ur intimately close with someone its impossible to smell. Sucks because it smells great 10/10 but doesnt matter if no1 (including the wearer) can smell it....

It smells like a sharp sweet cardamom for several hours. The deep dry down is dreamy milky yummy gourmand smell. I hope it will change since my bottle is new. But for now I smell nothing but cardamom.

For me, this is less patisserie and more boozy, in the style of Angels Share rather than their recent Tiramisu Speculoos. Quite interesting, just not what I expected

Does this ever lose the rank Cumin note? I have a new bottle, need to know whether to keep or sell/bin!

disclaimer: i have not smelled xerjoff italica. to be honest, i have no strong desire to smell it if it smells like this fragrance. unfortunately, i bought this based on prior notes posted which included caramel, milk, and almond-- and maybe they are actually in this in order to mimic italica. sadly, all i've gotten for the majority of owning this fragrance is a few seconds of a bright tangerine opening, followed by an incredibly dusty bitter almond, cardamom, and saffron that clashes with crisp apple and lasts until the fragrance dissipates. i don't get the milk and cookies, bakery, almond biscotti (not really but that's the closest i suppose), lactonic fragrance that others pick up, to my dismay. i've owned it for several months now and while it's gotten smoother and less pungent, i still don't find it wearable. it's still sitting in my closet while i figure out what to do with it/who i can give it to, but for now, it's a no for me.

Good thing I got a decant first because it makes me slightly nauseous. I thought I was overreacting but someone else said the same thing. The opening is the worst part of it, then once it settles down it becomes tolerable. But this has nothing to do with pâtisserie. Edit: I take it back, the dry down was not tolerable. It bothered me all day so unfortunately the longevity of this perfume is great.

smells SO artificial and plasticky. it reminds me of something I smelled a lot in my childhood, perhaps crayons?? or play doh?? God knows but this is not something I would want to smell like. some of the reviews here are giving me hope about trying it after a year... so for now im keeping this aside for a longgg time

I was sure this would be right up my alley. I'm so glad I got a decant first. The opening is amazing, but the mid and dry down smells like sweet, creamy, lactonic... cilantro. It's better in the air, it got better over a few months I've had it, but still the cilantro note is way too strong. Sadly not for me.

This one is just way too much for me. It has a really synthetic smell. I only put this on when I work from home (alone) in a bid to get through some of it. Im worried it will be too much to wear out in public. Its a shame because it has fantastic performance its just way too weird smelling.

I bought this for my girlfriend for her birthday, but when I smelled it, I bought her something else because this is very bad. The opening is so sweet and chemicaly, and I dont know if it's just me, but it smells like a rotten orange.

i have 3-4 paris corner fragrances on my wish list but i'll probably never buy them because of their lack of consistency. no two bottles come from the same batch, it's like yes they're 'cloning' fragrances at the speed of light but also 99% of the time you're not even sure if you'll get the same quality. their quality control is getting SO BAD that people are wondering if the bottles they're receiving are fake. at the end of the day, yes their prices are good but no i will not be buying from a brand that barely meet the basic quality demand of a fragrance. if you want good clones and dupes just buy b&bw, they have sales almost every month and the body sprays perform at the same level as paris corner eau de parfums. that being said this smells like alcohol and the velvet on the bottle peels off.

Cherry flavored bitter almond cold medicine vibes...not for me...hard pass...really doubt maceration will help in this case...wouldn't recommend blind buying...the drydown is slightly better as it turns into a more creamy tangerine Creamsicle but I'm not willing to wait for the drydown to enjoy it... Edit: Retested after maturation...still medicinal sharp and bitter....I don't wanna smell like tangerine flavored cough syrup.
