Rose De Nagada

Looks like I am the first to review this scent. I had a chance to purchase at low price Nagada and its 2 flankers (Fauve and Rose), so I did, not quite banking on the flankers and thinking the prime to be the head boss. So I tried Nagada, and Fauve de Nagada, and they are, respectively, great chypre floriental and vanilla spicy scents, especially for the price (they could garner way more revenue by selling them at x5), and when they are finished I'll gladly get new bottles. And then I tried the peachy coloured sister that I almost didn't get since I am not a huge fan of rose based fragrances. Ooh mama, was I wrong: this is heady rum, plum, bakery spices and dirty rose for good measure. Add honey and the usual oriental base notes, and this gorgeous brew emerges. This is a definite looove; the dirty saucy sister of classy Nagada and sweet Fauve de Nagada, this Rose is one sporting the most gripping type of thorns, and once hooked will try her best to keep you there. This might be screaming on some people, but on me it whispers alluringly and convincingly. This is a lovely Siren in my book. ps, it reminds me of an early 80s scent in a frosted bottle that a neighbour wore and the name of which has escaped me since, but I loved it, and this comes closest. So yeah. Keeper!

This perfume is a really soft sweet rose, I can’t feel notes that well but it’s smells really unusual in a good way. Wearing it on a sunny day really helps the sillage!

Came back here as I feel my previous review might be a bit misleading. There is a beautiful rose, but it is overpowered by the quite uncanny and sickening juxtaposition of a pack of cigarrettes and a plastic doll head. While this is a very complex, entertaining perfume, the result is nevertheless jarring and unpleasant.

The skin of a plastic doll, a bouquet of dried roses, a pack of cigarrettes. Dark berries and honey. Spicy spirits. Lipstick, pantyhose, mothballs. A very strange night, indeed.
