05.may 2013 THE MIRACLE HAS HAPPENED! Recently after attending a concert of my favortie french singer for the 3rd time in my life and experiencing an extase for the ears and eyes durig the perfomance i have also had an accident chance to meet this fantastic woman in person and even take a picture of us both. Honestly, i never imagined that a star (and in my opinion she IS a STAR) can be so down to earth and radiating a most positive energy even after perfoming 2 hrs on stage a fantastic show. No diva attitude at all, very simple and charming. The autographed tour programme and a photo is a treasure now in my collection. MANY MANY THANKS, mm-le Kaas! I also got a several sample tubes of her perfume with my purchases of merchandises of the tour. I was extremly glad to get them and as soon as i got home i tested it right away. To say i was dissapointed is not exactly how i felt. NO, i wasn ́t dissapointed, i nust didn ́t like it for the first time of using it. I don ́t know why, maybe because i was still overexcited over the "meet and greet" experience, maybe i had some old perfume on my wrist layered, maybe the stars in the skies weren ́t in the right position, i don ́t know. I must say that within my huge collection of vintage and modern scents this is one of the most unique scents ever. Ok, i must say this "i didn ́t like it" also not correct term to use, i didn ́t get it or i didn ́t understand it is more exact. This fragrance has a quality of a niche fragrance. That ́s my honest belief. How to describe the scent? Well, somehow i don ́t se it as a chypre or maybe my uneducated nose doesn ́t really know the meaning of the chypre as it is? I was actually expecting something very different: more woody, more smokey, more simple. This is a unusual (unusal to me, since i don ́t smell a lot of niche fragrances adn that ́s why maybe) mix of sweet fruit notes with cold lily and bitter orange. It has actually that reflection of one of my favorites like Bogner "Woman III" (listed here as "Bogner Bogner women"). That fruit note in the opening minus the sourness is quite close to Bogner. The first time i just didn ́t understand the addition of the lily note. That scared me off, made it less pleasant. Then there is a sourness in it, that didn ́t quite well work with my chemistry. Is it oud mixed with orange?? But anyway it was very intrigueing experience. And when i feel intrigued that usually means that there is a chance for a good relationship between me and perfume in a future after several attemps. Since then i was wearing it several more times and i ́ve grown to like it. Maybe the first impression was because it was still sealed and right upon opening the very first application was too strong? Don ́t know, since now after several attemps i find it very pleasant and outstanding perfume. Nothing like a mainstream today, moderatly sweet, slightly sour and very juicy but not in a way of modern perfumes with exotic fruit notes which smell very artificial. This is a grown up perfume with a very good base indeed. After all those tests i am still intrigued every time i wear it. And now i do see it as a fruity chypre indeed. A very best quality chypre which is actually an all-year-round use perfume. I haven ́t tested it yet in defferent temperatures but i already can imagine that how it will smell in different time of the year: more sweeter in colder in the autumn-winter time and more fruitier and thinner during the warmer time of the year. I am going for the full size bottle, i just can ́t resist. UPDATE: The site of company producing and selling this fragrance is for France only BUT if you send them an inquiery and ask about shipping they are willing to calculate the shipping charge for your country and you can get it this way. Hoever it took me several months and 2-3 emails to reach them first. :) UPDATE: (06. november 2013) I have read that the favorite perfume of Patricia Kaas is actually Clinique ́s "Aromatics elixir", it suppose to be her signature. Of her fan forums some people have stated that this "K by Kaas" perfume is a copy of "Elixir". Well.... They have nothing in common! Two completly different fragrances, however i can clearly imagine her wearing both of them: her "K" for daytime and "Elixir" for evening. Honestly, i thought at first that "K" would be more in "Elixir" vein, but they are worlds apart.

Very decadent, very black velvet. It's in the same genre of wilted fruit in a wooden bowl as Badgley Mischka used to be, but different in essence. Ylang makes it vibrant, sultry, it is quite heady in the opening notes. I enjoy the grown up base passionata20 mentions, the oudy-woody base, very warm and grounding. I can't wait for it to become available on their French site, something strange is happening there..
