Big Floppy Flowers

On first sniff ~1 year ago, I mostly got the florals, which are nice, but not really what I gravitate toward in a perfume. But going back to this fragrance sample the other day I fell in love with it, super green, the celery and grass notes work very well to off-set the florals, and tend to be stronger for me on my skin. It very much gives the image of an open field in the spring, which has been great during my cold winter blues. The opening is very a bright and cheery green, followed by the florals coming out, which smoothes the green as the perfume dries down. Alie’s perfumes are all very evocative and playful, yet super well composed.

This feels like childhood, a time when we were much closer to the earth, constantly tasting things. Tasting the ground and plant debris smattered on our fingers during a summertime romp through the yard. Sitting at the dinner table, senses cleared, smelling this on your fingers. Not taking a shower, smelling this as you eat, and falling asleep on the porch.

The first thought that immediately came to mind was Dorothy in the poppy fields in Wizard of Oz. I could smell but couldn’t identify the flower scent until I checked the notes. Once I read “daisy” it made sense. There’s a major green aspect in the opening reminiscent of flower stems and grass. There’s also a chic perfume accord that reminds me of high end floral classics. Scents such as Carnal Flower come to mind, if you can imagine a “daisy” version of CF rather than tuberose. Drydown also reminds me a bit of Diors Dune somehow, but more floral, less bitter, more wearable and IMO much more enjoyable. I really like this one. It isn’t a super girly floral and isn’t sweet, it’s more unisex and natural, yet maintains a niche quality to it. I don’t immediately recognize celery as it comes off more like celery powder in the spice rack—dry, bitter and herbal opposed to fresh and wet. I really like this and will need to test it more as I’m contemplating a bottle. It wasn’t the typical white floral bomb I expected but I really enjoy the uniqueness, realistic-ness, and niche quality to it.

7/10 a nice grass whimsical smell. I would definitely test before buying. I usually HATE green/grass smells especially in masc perfumes. They smell like hay fEverclear. But this is nice. It's strong, but very mystical. This is how I think Winnie the Pooh would actually smell like because he's plush being dragged in the forest and grass by a child. It also does smells like Demeter's Dirt which isn't a bad thing. DD is the cleanest dirt smell ever. I bought the tester and while I do like it, I already have DD and I want a more dark floral smell for me personally. I will not be buying a full bottle, but if I had it at a discount sure I'll use it.

exactly what it says on the tin: smells like walking through a field of flowers— not too wet, but maybe it rained last night, decidedly warm and sunshiney to my nose, maybe midmorning, dewy?.. doesn’t smell dirty, but there’s definitely a sense of the whole field (dirt, grass etc included), not just the flowers. i can smell the birdsong too :)

so delighted to find what i assume to be the one new york stockist of pearfat in one of the boutiques above 75 e broadway in chinatown. This is one of my top 2 after sniffing the whole line: near perfect rain scent, maybe doing a bit too much with the sweetness and lemon, not sure if i want a bottle but i definitely like it

Very gorgeous. The celery note is prominent and it doesn't fade but compliments the flowers. Very green in the sense that it smells like you're walking through a prairie. Reminds me of going to the botanical garden with my mom

I like the celery note much more than I expected, but I think that and the pepper are a little strong on me. Like others have said, it's the whole field of flowers- or on me, maybe just grass. Very fresh!

very green and pulls incredibly vegetal on my skin. smells like failed diets, pressing my face into flowers until i sneeze, and a combination of strong body odor + grass. not a huge fan of this personally, however, i do like that it exists. incredibly odd but somehow charming, i feel like i would enjoy smelling this on another person but not on myself.

it’s a no from me dawg. smells like white flowers atop pond water. there is decay lurking. but also signs of new life. i respect it in that aspect.

This one is strange. I get pink pepper right off the bat, it punches you in the face. I smell fresh cut flower stems and grass, it smells like when you're a kid and are super curious as to what a flower tastes like so you bite into a Daisy and it just tastes like greens. Not what you expect. It's a very herbal spicy green floral. It does have a watery quality to it. Like a freshly watered garden. The dry down has a stalk of celery covered in dirt quality to it. It's not bad but it's not my thing. It seems like it could grow on me though. It's a scent that is sure to wake up your senses.

Celery....celery....and more celery lol. This reminds me of the green machine flavor from Nakd Juice and not in a good way. This opens with a crazy strong celery note with the smell of orange peels and some freshly mowed grass. You lose most of the other notes when it dries down and all that’s left is just a watery celery. This one was a definite no for me, but at least there’s points for realism bc wow they got the celery note pretty spot on

i really wanted to like it, but unfortunately the sweetness and the celery blend to my nose in a way that feels almost rotten/fermented. the only scent from the discovery set that i dislike, which is a bummer because the notes are so cool! maybe on somebody else.

this just smells like straight up celery and cucumber on me. my skin can’t seem to pick up the florals and it just makes me smell like a freshly picked veggie which is unfortunately not my vibe at the moment. i appreciate its uniqueness!

definitely pond water with algae. again I love the photorealism from this house but aquatic smells don't work on my skin. Love getting to smell this though!

something about this that is really plasticky...smells like getting your sinuses filled with pollen you're allergic to and the nasal rinse you use to relieve yourself all in 1

I can hear birdsong in this. It’s like a dream. It’s neon iridescence. It’s also the crispness of biting into something crunchy and juicy but without sweetness. It’s very bright and without a shred of darkness present. It’s like when the light is so bright after a dark winter and the grass looks so green it’s like turning up the exposure on a photo. I’m at once blinded by the sun and feeling the light within at the same time! Someone said it reminded them of dumping too much pepper on their food (that cardamom bite) and someone else said Snow White vibes and I agree with both but also get this totally interesting note that reminds me of being at a roller skating rink (sweaty socks at a gym vibe haha) or near a pool, weird notes that are completely nostalgic but I like. really enjoy the whiffs I get of it. It is peculiar and pleasant. Puts me in a good mood. Dries down a little celery-esque. This perfume overall gives me wearing bell bottoms in the 60s in a meadow completely immersed in the brightest sunshine. I am thinking about getting a baby pear of this because I like it so much.
