when I first got this as a sample, i just liked it. pretty much exclusively wore it with my pajamas, for days lounging around the house- that i really wanted to be days lounging on the beach. samples are great for helping you judge skin chemistry, but i find they rarely give you the full picture. the sheer amount of perfume from a spray bottle is more than what you get dabbing your wrist from the sample vial. longevity, and some nuance in the notes, i think is lost in that little dab; compressed. TL;DR, I got a bottle and now i love it. what was a sweet and salty coconut has become more layered and dynamic as i move to deeper waters. more petitgrain, and savoriness. the kind of seaweed that wraps around ur ankles and gives you the hibbie jibbies. there's sand drying on your skin on the drive home. the jasmine starts distinct, before melting into everything else as it dries down. still is rather sweet on my skin, one of the only sweet scents in my rotation. as others have noted: not sugary. reminds me of this day when my friend and i both drove 3 hours to meet at montaña de oro to swim:) 'broke my own heart' as in every time i wear this, it's bc i'm wishing i was somewhere else. you might notice there's no saltwater note; add sweat (or tears) ! lasts a couple hours, but there's just remnants of skin scent at the end of work. longevity is maybe 5 hours on me? but i only do about 3 sprays on work days. does last better in hair. sillage is good (more than arm's length) for less than hour, then it starts to sit close. notes from pearfat's website: Top - Hot cocoa, petitgrain, teen angst Middle - Toasted coconut, jasmine, favorite sweatshirt Base - Seaweed, sandalwood edit: the more i wear this, the more i appreciate others' comments about this being a gourmand ...such an interesting and beautiful perfume! ty alie kiral for sharing your nose🙏

This scent is YUMMY. I hated it at first because all I smelled was coconut which I tend to stray away from but, it really grew on me after giving it more chances. Another scent that I classify as a gourmand because of the heavy Toasted Coconut and lactonic vibes I get from this. But it's so complex which is what draws me in and why I can see what others mean about it not being a gourmand because of how tropical and marine/aquatic it is. The Seaweed element in it is delicious. I feel like it can be worn any time of year and day. It smells like when you're sad on a gloomy autumn day and your partner hugs you to comfort you and you break down and leave your salty tears all over their sweater. It also smells like a warm beach day with a coconut ice cream in hand, salty sea mist getting all over you, salty gritty sand getting in your mouth, and your feet getting tangled in seaweed when you take a dip in the shallow water. I can't wait to buy a mini pear of this.

this fragrance is fantastic. immediately upon spraying this, i picked up on the coconut note, followed by an old house kind of smell. the dry down is warmer and cozier, very wearable in my opinion. wearing this, i’m reminded of the bygone summer i spent doused in coconut-scented sunscreen, crushing on a guy that i never ended up being with. it smells nostalgic and wistful. like coming home from the pool after a long day in the sun, the scent of chlorine and coconut sunscreen still lingering on your skin, and wondering if u should text that guy. and then once u do, feeling incredibly disappointed that he hasn’t texted u back. this perfume transports me back to that summer, and while it makes me kind of sad, it also comforts me. i really love this.

Upon opening you get a big dose of a creamy coconut note that’s somewhat sunscreen adjacent and a hint of some beachy seaweed. It smells like the beach, but more so like a small little secluded coast. It smells like you’re vacationing in a quaint little beach house with one room and a broken down porch that’s nestled right in front a small little private shore. The jasmine creeps in as an airy and sweet floral and mixes with the coconut to make a a subtly sweet aroma. The seaweed doesn’t stick around for too long, and you get a lot of that sandalwood in the dry down. It’s a softly sweet and creamy airy beach type of scent that feels comforting and subtle.
- em inglês
I would argue gourmand because I want to drink it... Sweet, milky coconut further propelled by creamy sandalwood. Bits of smokiness (coconut husk?) and a powdery facet I would relate to the hot coco note listed on PF's website. Salty like sweat and skin as opposed to a very marine seaweed/ocean. Less sunscreen, more tanning oil. My mom in the early 2000s putting on Australian Gold to go to our apartment complex pool. Extremely warm, almost a little plastic at first. This scent was left in the beach bag and slightly melted from the hot sun. Stands out from other Pearfats with its richness, while others seem to lean more light and airy.

absolutely love, my favorite from the pearfat sample set so far. my immediate impression on spraying was that this smells EXACTLY like the sweet sticky rice dessert you get at thai restaurants. sweet (but not sugary), creamy, nutty, and slightly savory (which i imagine is from the seaweed note, though i don't recognize it as such). i don't really get a beach/sunscreen scent as others have mentioned, but this does feel very much like a summery/warm weather scent. i wish this lasted longer than ~1-2 hours on my skin and had a little more projection, but it's a subtle, beautiful gourmand.
- em inglês
wore this around the house yesterday and really liked it:) coconut is a little sweeter than I usually go for, but it's not sugary or overpowering here. Overall treads gently, like a well-loved pj shirt or a favorite cardigan at the elbows. Definitely reminds me of the early 2000s beach aesthetic a la Zoey 101 i noticed i was way more into how this smelled in the crease of my elbow, than the underside of my wrist. so pair w sweat. !warning! may summon sunshine

This may be my new fav, it feels very familiar. To me this smells like I’m in high school, I’ve just taken a shower and I used coconut conditioner, and I’ve gotten into bed but now I’m slightly sweaty because it’s so warm. Somehow it works lol. Wildly disagree with anyone saying this smells like sunscreen - very different kind of coconut. Wish this came in a larger bottle because I’d purchase immediately
- em inglês
Finally found "my" coconut scent. This is so interesting. I get a strong hit of petitgrain at the top, followed by savory seaweed and toasted coconut. Doesn't feel gourmand. Reminds me of the smell in your car after it's been sitting in the sun at the beach all day and you track in sand and seaweed remnants. You used one of those coconut-scented sprays to give your hair beach waves on the way there.

oh my goodness, my favorite of the pearfats i smelled <3 such a romantic and well balanced scent, classy and totally not cloying. totally get that sense of longing, summer love, late nights up dreaming of someone... to describe it, it's like a white floral with slight oceanic/marine notes, a teen girl's room by the beach, ocean breeze and sunscreen. such a great scent, deeply endearing
- em inglês
the scent of my lonely baby-gay tween-hood. summer evenings where i would bike to the local pool just before close, followed by a shower with coconut shampoo, then go on tumblr for a few hours. fresh, cool and clean toasted coconut. i want to sweat in it and make it saltier. it’s a lovely scent, but i love it more so for the memories and the feeling it evokes.
- em inglês
I bought multiball from this house but I have blown through my sample of this and crave a full bottle. This is so comforting with a millennial girl aspect. I get hot chocolate, coconut hair product and slept in bedding. SO ADDICTING. Wish it lasted a bit longer on skin though.
- em inglês
a bit harsh at first spray, but dries down so beautifully - just wish this had more projection/longevity. probs gonna blow through the whole bottle and unfortunately for my wallet i will be purchasing again
- em inglês
coconut sesame peanut crackers (from the can) and sunscreen. not sure if i get the seaweed but there is a really nice saltiness that comes through. this smells like the summer from an old memory.
- em inglês
Screaming! I just love this it’s so pretty and nostalgic but I can’t pinpoint why. The coconut and sandalwood are so good together
- em inglês
Romantic, warm, creamy, salty coconut. What I imagine a siren to smell like

my sample of this from the discovery kit actually immediately broke all over my pant leg when i tried to close it it, (good time to note- be careful and gentle when u handle these samples! mine broke from the bottom, i put a little too much pressure on it trying to push the lid back in. on the plus side my pants smelled really nice for date night) but alie is a mind reader and put a fresh sample in with my amicus cumulus order, so i get to enjoy it on my skin after all! i don’t consider myself a huge gourmand fan (they are lovely i just don’t usually want to smell like a cookie!), but if i were, i don’t think i’d ever take this off. this smells almost like a caramel brownie on me (heavier on the caramel than the brownie), but it also isn’t overly sweet, there’s a little something (forgive me, i’m not great at identifying notes yet) in there anchoring the sweetness and keeping it from going full bakery, which i appreciate. perfect for a lazy day at home, or whatever else u feel like doing, really.
- em inglês
Salt water and seaweed! Opens a bit soft and confusing, takes time to fully develop. After 20 minutes or so, my skin smells like I just climbed out of the ocean. No sunscreen, no florals, no sweetness. This is a dry, herbal, salty aquatic beach. The subtle coconut adds a dry raw nutty skin accord and thankfully doesn't come off plasticky like many other coconuts I've tried. This doesn't smell gourmand to me, unless you consider a mouthful of seaweed-y ocean water to be gourmand. I get a bit more sandalwood further in the drydown, gives a sense of driftwood and beach trees and bushes. Nothing stands out as a typical perfume or cologne type of scent. This is far more realistic in the sense I do get saltwater and seaweed and little else. Unisex, but I see this being enjoyed more by men, as it doesn't have very noticeable florals and has no sweet notes. Perfect for people looking for a realistic beach scent who aren't into "perfumes."

You have to endure the first 30 seconds of the freezer-burn, chemical sunscreen-y opening (is that what petitgrain is supposed to smell like ?), but it dries down & becomes so so comforting. It captures a lesson in manners from early childhood, when you are hanging out with a new friend for the first time and their car and house and clothes all have a funk... not a bad funk, but just distinct from your own family's imperceptible funk. You are polite enough to avoid bringing it up or making a face, but you never really get used to it and every time you sleep over at their place you wonder what the origin of the funk could possibly be: it bears no resemblance to detergent, or Febreze, or some communal family shampoo situation, it's just something inherent. Wearing it makes me feel like I can see myself from the outside, and I could be someone else.
- em inglês
i struggle with coconut a lot--it usually smells really synthetic to me, but this one is so good. sweet and salty and tropical but not sunscreen-y. it's the type of summery scent i feel like you could totally wear this in colder weather. it's a good "missing summer" scent. i love how nostalgic every pearfat scent is: this feels like what you wanted the coconut body sprays at the mall to smell like as a teenager. not to say it's not unique, though! i find it really interesting, although there are other scents from the discovery kit i'm more interested by. that's more my personal taste though. this is so good if you're looking for something tropical.
- em inglês
Smells like dry shampoo and sunscreen. Very reminiscent of the last summer you spent with the girl you had a confusingly homoerotic friendship with that later went down in flames. I'm not a huge coconut fan so I don't love it enough to buy a full bottle, but it definitely creates the nostalgic memory it's aiming for.
- em inglês
This is someone else's smell that feels familiar yet distant. It smells like hugging someone, getting a whiff of their hair...like coconut scented hair product and a bit of personal musk. It's also reminiscent of coconut shavings that have most likely expired. I would never wear this bit it's executed well.
- em inglês
Reminds me of being in elementary school, going to a slumber party, and having a crush on the girl hosting it. Buttered popcorn, polyester sleeping bags, sweat, coconut hair spray, the slight damp of sleeping in someone's basement. The seaweed note is nice. It's innocent, yearning, a little lonely.
- em inglês
Soft, slightly soapy jasmine. Coconut at its most balsamic. A hint of brisk green petitgrain. A salty breeze. This one is dreamy and wearable but not the most “me”. I ended up giving it to a friend who is a cashmere- and linen-clad bohemian angel — it suits her gorgeously!
- em inglês
a creamy and slightly lactonic jasmine. floral scented sunscreen, coconut body spray, biting into a sugar free cupcake, and rinsing sand from clothing. pulls incredibly sweet on my skin and i love it. sweetheart certified.
- em inglês
This perfume smells exactly like the kool-aid type powdered drink mixes of my childhood. It’s a winner for me. It fades after a while into a mildly sweet scent. The longevity isn’t amazing but it’s a lovely fragrance,
- em inglês
this reminds me of one of the harajuku mini perfumes i had as a child and i’m obsessed. it’s like if the show h2o was a perfume
- em inglês
Okay southeast Asian gourmand! Reminds me of Indonesian peanut sauce, to go alongside sate or gado gado
- em inglês
this perfume is a sweet beachy medley; the opening is a fun coconut sunscreen blend, artificial of course but not in a nauseating way. after a few minutes, once the overpowering coconut note reels back some, the subtle aquatic saltiness of seaweed and warm sandalwood come through to soften the summery sunscreen bite of the opening. there’s a touch of skin-like saltiness to it as well, coming from that seaweed note, which in a strange way makes it feel distant yet familiar, like the distinct scent of someone else. your best friend's bedroom during a sleepover, too-warm and swimming with coconut detangler and the secrets of girlhood. that cozy, homey feeling is accentuated by the powdery hot cocoa note that cools in the dry down. i'm so conflicted about this one. on one hand, it starts off quite artificial until the dry down, which by then is very faint and doesn't project. that, and i'm really not a fan of coconut, which i would say is the main note here. on the other hand, the experience and imagery it evokes is so reminiscent of summertime in my hometown in florida, which i find really comforting and nostalgic — but maybe it's just not the most wearable for me. if anything, i can see myself using up the rest of my sample on sunny pool days this upcoming summer.
- em inglês
the opening is quite chemical & cigarette-y. I personally don’t mind. The dry down still carries the cigarette note on the skin but it’s subtle. I really like it, quite nice as an every day spring/summer scent. It does smell like memories as intended. Edit: If you’re a fan of sunbum products and the vibe that gives you this is somewhat adjacent to that without the overpowering banana note. final edit: after wearing this for a month, i can finally officially say i’m not into it; and i personally don’t think this one is worth the high price tag :,(
- em inglês
Clean and herbaceous coconut that brings about imagery of someone else’s old sweater and wax paper. This is foreign and rounded, and reminds me of a yellow lit room that you must sit in for a long time. There are dust particles flying through the air. It becomes smoother and coconuttier, and almost more comforting. The smells like you’ve taken a sedative. Another one of those sense I appreciate for its artistic merit, but would not want to wear on the daily, but I’m getting the sense that that is going to be my experience with Pearfat.

Gourmand who?? I get spicy cedar chips. The description for this perfume was highly appealing: "Hot cocoa, your favorite sweatshirt, a bit of leftover teen angst." Honestly that sounds like my dream perfume and this unfortunately evokes none of that for me. I really wanted to love Pearfat but they've missed the mark on everything I tried from them.

seaweed and playdoh with no longevity, unfortunately. this was actually the sample i was most excited for and i do enjoy the seaweed, but the coconut in this is just playdoh to me which is.. not pleasant! and it doesn't even last half as long as the others i've tried from pearfat thus far. disappointing. overall rating: 🩷🩷🖤🖤🖤 2/5

i recently bought the pearfat sample pack and was very excited to try this one in particular. unfortunately i ended up having to scrub it off. a pretty odd combination of notes that unfortunately did not gel together on my skin. i broke my own heart when i sprayed this :(
- em inglês
At first it smells like you're having coconut curry with a strong lemongrass smell as well. Then dries out to an old dusty brown paper bag that has the smell like coconut curry used to be in there. I really don't like this.
- em inglês
This was never going to be my kind of scent, I'll be up front, but it reacted on my skin even worse than expected. Pearfat's connection to Michigan instantly made this remind me of when the Great Lakes get covered in lichen and pollen floats on the water. It's the first time it's warm enough to swim in the year so you go in anyway but the sweet briny scent clings to your skin and your legs feel slimy every time they touch on the walk home. This caused a visceral scent memory but not a good one; at least toss in a salt water taffy from the general store next time

I had a little intentional mission to rewrite what I broke my own heart means to me by spritzing it on liberally before attending a concert on my life’s bucket list last night: Camera Obscura. The last time I wore I broke my own heart which was over a month ago -with its bittersweet symphony of notes, the cocoa interlaced with toasted coconut sand dunes wafted around me while “Torn” by Natalie Imbruglia played in the background at my job until something very poignant happened toward the end of a night. I left work and replayed the same song in my car, tears streaming down my face and feeling exactly curious to my perfume, like had I broken my own heart with its way too tender interior, heart on my sleeve love for humankind? I closed up like a little clam after that night, trying to open up to my sweetness day after day to no avail. I felt acutely punished for being so tender. Something I appreciate about perfume is you can remake the association a perfume has with you; it doesn’t have to stay with that ex-boyfriend in the past. If you feel courageous to remake that association, I believe you can. While the band played “Tears for Affairs” and “My Maudlin Career”, the salty dust in my eyes from this landlocked perfume transformed back into a second skin as I got fuzzy goosebumps when Tracyanne Campbell in the final song for their set sang “Expecting softness can lead to foolishness” singing my favorite song of all “Razzle Dazzle Rose.” I felt the seaweed around my ankles, and the salty tears in my eyes. I felt warmth emanate around me with the sensual sandalwood at its base. I’ve never smiled so much at sad songs and felt such relief singing along to lyrics that hit so close to home lately “I wish my heart was as cold as the morning dew, but it’s warm as saxophones and honey in the sun for you.” I could not have picked a better night to redo I broke my own Heart than by feeling my way back to the core of my tender heart at such a beautifully melancholic concert. I broke my own heart is brown sugar sans the sweetness, it’s a vegan breakfast of toasted coconut and cocoa nibs in your granola that someone fresh baked for you, and it’s that taste of licking a salty tear that’s fallen down your cheek and smiling and feeling silly and foolish for loving the world so deeply as you do but without any regret.
- em inglês
I’m honestly really enjoying how this smells! It feels like a perfume I want to sniff away at curiously. I am catching the coconut and the chocolate now with the backdrop of seaweed. It definitely evokes a kind of nostalgia of junior high vibes when my older sister’s would sit at our old school vanity getting ready for school, blow drying their hair, looking at magazines and trying to be what’s in style going to high school while I stayed trapped in the junior high world, only dreaming I could be half as cool. I think fans of vanilla musks and powdery skin musks would absolutely adore this and it is on my list to get a bigger size. It is really something else, kind of ambergris-esque to keep it sensual and funky with the innocent vibes.
- em inglês
I don't think I've ever unlocked core memories with fragrances before, but this one is exactly like my hometown besties room when we were growing up. Like the exact scent of coconut she always liked to wear. I used to go through her seventeen's and sneak read her journal entries about me from when we would get into fights. She had a canopy bed and we would stay up taking turns playing mariokart on the DS and then whip ourselves into hysteria about the noises the heat vents made or cats running around in the bushes outside. The beauty of a world of emotion you could share with someone in safety, even if that meant being extremely petty and ridiculous. <3

This one is very weird on me. At first it was all dried herbs. Basil, oregano and maybe some cilantro? Then the coconut came through. It was pleasant and airy, a little beachy but still maintained the herby-ness. Like eating a coconut shaved ice after eating a kinish on the beach. Sandy. Sweet. But a little savory Then it went weird on my skin after about 3 hours. The only way I can describe it is Ikea furniture. It wasn't bad but just strange. It was definitely nostalgic. Reminded me of my first apartment in college after putting all my cheap furniture together. All in all I liked it but not as much as others from this brand.
- em inglês
The seaweed and petitgrain is extremely strong in the opening and for the first 15min on my skin. It’s very salty and savory. If I sniff for it, I can find an air of coconut milk in the background and it becomes stronger at the dry down but the seaweed is still there in a leveling way. While I don’t like sweets this could have used a touch of sugared vanilla, maybe a sweet patchouli. Overall this is a no for me. This fragrance reminds me a little of Ellis Brooklyn West in the way that I pick up the basil as the predominant note while others smell citrus.
- em inglês
reminds me of: adding coconut flakes to your morning yogurt because you’re trying everything to lose weight, writing in your diary about how awful he is (knowing he never cared about you in the first place), ripping out and balling up the paper before you miss the trash can, reading romance novels and replacing the characters with yourself and all your many crushes, slamming your fists on the bed, kissing trees like mary katherine gallagher, rewinding the same vhs tape over and over again just so you can see your favorite actor’s abs...✨
- em inglês
I got the discovery kit and this is one of the fragrances i was most excited about, but sadly i think something happened during the shipping process that made the sample go bad. It’s got tiny yellow chunks floating and i didn’t smell any of the notes. It didn’t smell “sour” necessarily, but it also didn’t really smell like anything the notes listed. Now im just thinking if any other of the samples also went bad but i didn’t notice. Overall though, the samples that were fine i enjoyed very much, especially 2030 park avenue!
- em inglês
Like Kewpie Doll, this is not my memory. I'm not usually a fan of coconut unless it smells like Harajuku Girls G. This isn't an extremely sweet coconut, and the seaweed does give it an off-putting smell, but that's the point. The theme of Pearfat is childhood memories. If her stories to these perfumes don't resonate with you, you'll feel indifferent about it. I would still recommend that everyone exploring niche perfumes try out the discovery set.

Toasted coconut doughnut sitting on top of seaweed sheets. Slightly gourmand, gives a bit of a Killian vibe. Sturdy sandalwood base holds it together. Doesn't project.
