Rabbit Rabbit

the zoo is empty and all of the animals have gone on strike. the close, sultry sun is baking down on the piles of uneaten apricots, carrots and halved apples left outside for all the little marsupials to snack on - but the marsupials have long gone, leaving only the distant scent of their furs. the hay bedding sweats and exudes that rich, dry, musky undertone, while the fat berries of the juniper bushes rot into mush on their stalks. spat-out pips, seeds and apricot kernels are crawled over by lazy ants seeking out the syrupy fruit sugars. beneath the earth, spicy roots sweat out their aromatic secretions. fruit bats with long tongues dart about in the orange sky. there is a haze of ripeness settling over the place. the branch of every tree swells heavy with fruit.

Was lucky enough to attend one of Alie's perfume making classes (if you are in Chicago, be on the lookout and sign up! She is such an informative and kind teacher/community creator in addition to being an incredible olfactory artist), where she graciously gifted us a sample prior to Rabbit Rabbit's launch. I brought this tester everywhere. I offered it to everyone. It's too good to gatekeep. So spicy, delicious, home-y, and just plain fun. "Sexy carrot cake," was the general consensus from those I offered a spritz to. Pairs well with my favorite drink at The Hi-Lo in Humboldt, Square Roots (a carrot, ginger, honey, tequila, and spicy rosehip bitters concoction).

Ohhh my golly. This is such a cute little scent to me. It starts out VERY strongly with an astringent/alcoholic quality, but quickly it becomes a fruity lil spring day. For some reason on my skin it gives a perfect mix of Fabuloso and sour gummy worms. It's juicy, slightly sour but mellows out. There's something very gently spicy on the edge, like the remnants of that astringent hit in the beginning. Only thing is sadly I don't think it lasts the longest, it becomes kind of vegetal over time, but that's only if you inhale very deep. Other than that it just is a little bit weaker than the initial hit. Still a 5/5 tho <3

This is a snarky fragrance. Whenever I wear it, I feel like a coquettish forest sprite that delights in the slight misfortunes of others. The juniper absolutely slaps you in the face as your nose plays cat and mouse with the carrot cake note. It's green and fresh in a way that embraces nature, and likewise what a body might smell like rolling around in it (Not for too long, though!). Gourmand, but not overly sweet. Unisex without being too masc leaning. I love it. I have also recently found out that this fragrance smells lovely in the heat. If this scent were a song, it would be Lawn by Aldous Harding.

This perfume was an unexpected favorite from Pearfats collection as I expected it to be a heavy sugary gourmand with prominent spiced cake notes, however the gourmand aspect of the perfume came in a bit less intense, and its more of a light fizzy sugared scent.. it almost smells like a fruity apricot soda and it smells akin to a lush bathbomb! I get a bit of the cake note but its not in the way that you would expect, and its not a sickly sweet perfume. I love this fragrance and it's perfect for all seasons in my opinion! It's fun, sweet, fizzy and light, such a good potential signature scent!

That's a very cute one. I blind bought and I do not regret at all. First, I don't understand the main accords chart above. To me this smells fruity, sweet with just a little bit of spiciness from the ginger (galanga) and maybe the turmeric, not sure. The aromatic notes are probably just there to tame down the sweetness a little bit. It's a gourmand but not overly sweet, no vanilla (finally, a non vanilla gourmand). I agree with some comparisons below with "walking in a Lush store". Kind of yeah. But a Lush store serving freshly baked carrot cake :) I will wear this one a lot this Spring !

I have only heard one other Pearfat fan mention this while talking with them in-person, but Rabbit Rabbit on its initial spray smells EXACTLY like opening the door to a Lush Cosmetics (which, Alie if you're reading this, I mean that as such a strong compliment) . After that first spritz, the carrot cake and apricot and earthy grains sweep over in a way that really reminds of baking something during the spring with spelt flour. She is nutty, sweet, and warm - an absolute gourmand dream.

Well, I'd hoped to add more than it smelling like every Lush store in existence but. I mean thats exactly what it smells like. That dry, oily, salt and starch crumbling into a fruity fizz. Creamsicle water shimmering orange and milky. It bursts open like a shaken can of soda. Incredibly fun and bright. Then it dries up quick, sweetens, and leaves with only the faintest trace of apricot and carrot sugar. Love this far more than I expected to. I only wish it lasted longer.

Alie the woman you are this is amazeballs, it smells super reminiscent of Bitter Peach by Tom Ford, but leaning more towards carrot, cake, and tumeric. I could definitely see why people say it smells like a Lush store, it somewhat does, but it doesn’t have that punchy in your face immediately when you walk in feel, this is very inviting and not insanely overpowering. I will absolutely be getting a full size of this

my perfect spring scent. it does smell like lush in the opening but after its a sweet and fruity thing, i love that though! its fruity without being overwhelming or artificial which i love, cuz i normally dont like that kinda scent. the background definitely mellows it out. i cant really accurately describe it so its probably the barley/ginger? you can get a very faint spiced feel from it

Fuzzy, spicy, vintage. Like a velvet flocked porcelain figurine in an antique store cabinet. Spring but not too bright or sunny, more warm and vegetal, tingly and rootsy. A favorite from Pearfat, although their Only A Witch Cat deserves a fragrantica page so I can gush about how it perfectly captures the film Hausu (1977).

This is the perfect spring fragrance and my current favorite scent. I can’t get enough of this. It’s delicious. Like enjoying a slice of carrot cake with just enough spicy sweetness at an Easter morning picnic. It’s earthy, herbal, and fruity. The galanga addition is perfection. The yummiest, coziest gourmand.

I adore this fragrance! The apricot and barley sing beautifully on my skin, while the juniper & galangal keep it from becoming too sickly sweet. It leans into skin-scent territory, but I have gotten compliments from others an hour or two after spritzing, so it's possible that I'm experiencing nose-blindness.

Spiced apricot 100%! To me its almost fizzy?? Idk but I LOVE, genuinely the perfect mix between herbal and fruity! It reminds me of the way sun feel on a perfect spring day and is deeply nostalgic to me. I will say that if you're buying this for the note of carrot cake DON'T, you will be deeply disappointed.

This perfume has changed everything for me. The galanga gives it such a beautiful earthy ginger-adjacent quality that rounds out the sweetness in a very unique, fuzzy way. I hope this is eventually added to the full collection, because I genuinely don't know how I'll live without it once I finish my 50 ml.

Smells like an apricot-carrot cake bath bomb from Lush. Powdery in that same, almost fizzy, way. My fiance thinks it smells citrusy, and I don’t entirely disagree. The gourmand for gourmand-haters

This perfume feels like poprocks for my brain in the best way possible. I cannot stop spraying this and wouldn't be surprised if it became my top Spring/Summer scent for '24!

at first i thought i was smelling pine or maybe mint, but after looking at the notes the juniper made perfect sense. it is definitely a fresh scent! the fruity aspect is surprisingly subtle, but not in a way where it gets overshadowed. honestly, there is so much happening in this fragrance that it almost feels like every note is competing for center stage. somehow that sounds like a criticism, but i actually mean it affectionately. it is like the fragrance cannot decide exactly what it wants to be, but every direction it takes is working out anyway. does that make sense? lmao i think that is what makes it so interesting to me. it feels a little frantic, a little chaotic, but still balanced somehow it also reminds me a bit of men's body wash, which is funny because i do not actually think it smells particularly masculine. if anything, this might be one of the more genuinely androgynous fragrances i have tried after reading other reviews, i completely agree with the comparisons to walking into a lush store. that honestly captures the feeling better than i could. it is a little bit of everything all at once, but somehow it comes together into something really unique and surprisingly wearable. i like this one a lot!

A cupcake spicebomb for springtime play. Very sundress-and-sneakers. If Rabbit by Zoologist smells like a Beatrix Potter critter, then Rabbit Rabbit must smell like Lola Bunny. I get A LOT of fizzy ginger and candied carrot, but very little starch. There’s tangy, pulpy apricot in the mix which was delicious on fabric/paper but unfortunately a total ghost on my skin. In terms of sweetness, R2 is somewhere between gourmand and gourmand-inspired, which is my favourite way to take my olfactory cake. Performance was very outgoing for the first three hours, and then it either evaporated or I went nose-numb. Bright, punchy sweetness! This is an adorable scent—energetic, vibrant and fun. When bunnies are excited they "binky" (fast, uncontrollable jumps and twists), and this is that sort of rabbit. A very happy one who just had a delicious apricot treat and can't hold back their joy! All those reviewers who mentioned this smells like a Lush store are correct, though personally I feel it's a little more subtle and clean. It reminds me of a fruity, youthful shampoo, and at first spritz it's like I just stepped out of the shower. I don't get a lot of spice in this, but that's ok because I prefer the fruitier smell. As for its longevity, it's a bit fleeting, but that's like a rabbit I guess—quick bursts of joy before settling back down.

This was my first blind buy ever. I love the creator Alie and her company Pearfat, plus all the responses I’ve seen convinced me this would be a love. I keep my collection tight and I don’t have room for scents I’m not crazy about, but I should have stuck to my no blind buy policy. Thought it would be more sweet and cakey but I don’t get any nostalgia from the scent and I am bugged by the turmeric. If I keep it, I will wear it only on the first of the month for good luck, but otherwise I won’t reach for it. I do recommend her discovery set though—all very interesting scents, and I feel like there should be at least one “love” for most who go through them. There were at least two that blew my socks off!

7.999/10 I just wish it lasted longer Pearfat is always going to be interesting and this is no exception. It's a lot of things at once. You have the apricot smell that's fruity at first, but it has an aromatic galanga and carrot. But it's slightly gourmand and woody. It does smell like a picnic but the only food is cake. I can see why it's compared to a lush store because you have a lot of scent families pulling you in different directions, but it works! I'm going to make an argument that this is a year around because if you pair this with the right lotion it makes those aspects pop. It's really the ideal perfume to wear on the first day of each month.

omg? this blew me away. i didn’t have crazy high expectations as typically when i blind buy i try to be realistic. however, im so glad i took a chance and stuck with my gut because this will absolutely become one of my favorites easily. its a perfect blend of aromatic spice, fruit, carrot, and a little earthiness from the barley and juniper. its not sweet like a traditional gourmand would be. it’s more sweet in the way, well, carrots are! not sickeningly pungent or overpowering. absolutely gorgeous and versatile. i can see this working incredibly with other fragrances with saffron and amber. 10/10 for me

This one was a bit too strong on the juniper for my liking but it’s otherwise a really lovely scent. It opens with a heavy hand of that juniper and some herbal/aromatic accords. It’s very earthy and fresh. The carrot cake note here is interesting bc it doesn’t read very sweet. It smells more so like a carrot cake baked with no sugar and the sugar was sprinkled on top afterwards lol. This is definitely in the gourmand esque territory but it maintains a lot of fresh greenness and earthiness to it. It’s like if the rabbit baked the cake in their earthy little home in the woods.

The scent opens with a fresh blast of pine and spice—likely juniper—evoking the image of a rabbit rummaging through the forest floor. It then transitions into something cozy, as if that rabbit wandered into Grandma Bear’s cottage while she was baking her famous carrot cake. It becomes slightly sweet, powdery, and absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed the dry down; it feels like a perfect scent for spring—not too sweet, with a nice fruit lift that balances the earthier notes.

Warm and fuzzy, it makes me visualize running my toes through 70’s rust colored shag carpet, while my great aunt bakes carrot cake. If green and blue can describe fragrance types, I think this defines an orange fragrance type. The carrot and turmeric are front and center, but are softened and warmed by the cake and apricot. A fun and cozy perfume, I’d associate it with spring, despite it being so warm. However I don’t much subscribe to fragrance seasons.

Love this, easily my favorite from the discovery set. I agree with another reviewer that this does initially smell like walking into a LUSH! I think it's the juniper. I get more apricot and galanga than carrot. I wish the carrot cake and barley was more prominent but OH WELL because I love it anyway. I need to test the longevity more because I'm not sure if this is on the weak side or if I'm just going noseblind to it.

When I first sprayed it, I literally said out loud "omg it's Lush", not in a bad way or anything but it's definitely spot on. On my skin, after it dries down it smells a little bit more dusty and earthy in a way I really like. Smells like the romanticized ideal of a farm. My only complaint is that it doesn't last very long and needs to be reapplied often. Goes well with Pitch The Baby - Cocteau Twins

this one makes me so happy. it smells like the ghost of a carrot cake. like the remnants of the batter sticking to the mixing bowl, spice and sugar in the air. the cake is long gone, though. the apricot shines like no other here, ripe and bubbly. the juniper is also quite nice, makes it just sharp enough for some nuance.

This....smells like walking into a Lush store! Kinda fruity and kinda herby and definitely crunchy in some way. This is like carrot juice and the fruit leather that your friends mom tried to convince you was a substitute for candy. It’s fizzy and fun and honestly signature scent worthy for a silly goofy girl!

Too sweet. The dry down is all sugar to me. I do get some of the orange, ginger, carrot cake once you get past the sugar (deep in your nose). I'm not sure that would carry through in the projection. It would have been more interesting if it was more balanced without the sweet overwhelming the other notes.

smells exactly like walking into a lush store to me. the notes are well blended so that I can't exactly pick them apart from one another but there is something herbal, something fruity, something sweet. really pleasant-- wouldn't buy a bottle myself but will enjoy the sample very much.

I don't think I get any carrot notes but I do get cake and apricot, maybe a hint of the barley and juniper. Smells nice and classy, not overpowering like some sweeter perfumes can be. My cat loves it (=^ェ^=)

For me this is bright, juicy, tart apricot. It's spicy and starchy but very ripe and fruity at the same time.

I love how many reviews call this adorable or cute because it really is but not in a juvenile way. It really just smells bright and bubbly, I can't even smell any specific notes. It smells good. It smells like a nice walk with a light breeze. I can't be any more specific than that. Unfortunately, it's a skin scent after ten minutes and gone after thirty

totally agree with the “smells like a Lush store” comments - very much an indecipherable mix of herbs and sweet smells - not bad but also not anything to write home about

Me: Thought this would be an easy like, but sadly no. The (apricot?) on top is sickeningly sweet. Not sure whether to describe this as earthy or desserty. I swear there's a note of vetiver underneath. Him: I don't like this one. It smells kind of like candy to me. She said it smelled earthy which I think is crazy. Didn't sniff even an atom of dirt in this one.

The opening smelled like Pez candy on me when I sprayed it at home, but the drydown on me changed to something I had to scrub off at work. It smelled like old Persian man cologne. Don’t know where everyone else is getting the sugary fruity notes.

I received a Baby Pear size of Rabbit Rabbit yesterday. I spray it first in the air in front of me and immediately I smell the spice of the turmeric and galangal. I sprayed it on my arm, sniff it, and ask my mother what she thought it smelled like. She inhales, and goes, “why does that smell familiar?” I say, “Citronella candle?” She replies, “Lemon Pledge!” She thinks it’s ridiculous, but I rather like it. Sometimes I get little snatches of sweetness from this perfume but overall it’s the turmeric and galangal that are the stars here for me. My only complaint is that I wish it lasted longer on the skin. I feel as though I can barely smell it after a few minutes.

So disappointed by this one :'( Judging by the notes i expected it to be a serious contender of the bunch of samples i ordered from pearfat and it could have been, if only it was at least 5x louder. This smeels so nice tho, a very lush like vibe, fruity but not too sweet, with the galanga adding a nice original touch, a very playful almost gourmand. But sadly I couldnt smell it no matter how many times I reapplied; which is a bummer because all of the other samples had a nice sillage and staying power, this house usually got it on this aspect. A really nice idea but a miss for me..

Can verify that this is a lush store in a bottle. Burns through my nose on the first spray and can't identify anything for a few hours after. Through the burning there is a waxy, spicy play-doh smell, alongside maybe dusty carpet or hamster shavings. Like walking into the American Girl Doll store after exiting Lush. I'm shocked to learn that everyone else associates Lush with a specific smell rather than the sensation of becoming suddenly anosmic.

God, I wanted to like this SOO bad; I love rabbits! It's such a cute concept! My first childhood stuffed animal is a rabbit, that I named "rabbit" in my mother language LMFAO. If I liked this, I definitely would have instantly bought it so all the rabbit names could be together, my stuffed animal can have a signature scent LOL. I think I should try it on my skin next time. It did smell very rabbit on paper though- *literally* animalic.

Surprised more people aren't mentioning the apricot! That's the dominant note for me, however the herbal and grainy notes are noticeable enough to keep things interesting and not too sweet. After the initial fruity blast it settles to something more woody and aromatic. Not normally my kind of scent but unique enough that I'll probably use up my sample! Good for anyone who likes fruity scents but doesn't like strong gourmands.

To me this is mostly a spiced apricot. My boyfriend thinks it smells like pee. Apparently juniper can do that?
