This fragrance is a zingy gourmand that was launched in 2014. The nose behind this composition is the talented Silvia Monti. ⭐️The fragrance opens with a complex blend of floral-musky angelica seeds and salty caviar. ⭐️The heart of the fragrance is dominated by benzoin and leather. ⭐️The base is a beautiful blend of a chocolaty patchouli, a medicinal vanilla and a sexy musk. The scent as its name suggests, is defined by the brand to be "an aphrodisiac with venomous character ». Cantharidin has indeed a long, infamous reputation for being an aphrodisiac and is known as Spanish fly in the vernacular. Historically, it has been used as an aphrodisiac, an abortifacient, and a veterinary medicine diuretic. In my nose this creation is a very smooth and well structured fragrance to wear preferably during Spring or Fall season. It is definitely the kind of gourmand scent that I like to wear because it is not too sweet for my taste. I like traditional desserts that are not overly sweet like apple pie, vienoisserie, strudel, maccarons and the same goes for my gourmand taste. I was really curious to feel what the caviar note would create in a gourmand perfume and I was finally seduced by the spicy side it brings to this composition. Sillage is good, projection is moderate and longevity is between 4 and 5 hours on my skin. If you like fragrances like Musc Ravageur by Frederic Malle, Black orchid or Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford, you will probably dig this creation. Overall a sexy and aphrodisiac composition to share in an intimate ambiance with your beloved one.💘

Cantaride has become my favorite fragrance in my collection; It's a sophisticated vanilla fragrance that transitions on the skin. It becomes a wonderful skin scent after about 2-3 hours, and it continues on for around 10 hours as a sexy close encounter fragrance. I can't stop smelling myself

The name of this creation comes from Cantaride, a drug that was widely used in European medicine and also in some beverages, because of its diuretic and aphrodisiacs factors. Even today, although toxic, is still used in aphrodisiacs and also in remedies for wart removal. It is obtained from the Cantharidin that, in turn, is achieved through the Spanish fly (Lytta Vesicatoria). It has everything to do with the creative concept of the company and brings the contradiction between the aphrodisiac and the poisonous. In its composition, notes of Angelica seeds and caviar, in the head; benzoin and bright leather, in the body; vanilla, patchouli, and musk, in the base. On the skin, however, the scent revolves around the nuances of vanilla and benzoin. There is a touch of leather here, a chocolaty nuance of patchouli there, but nothing too obvious. Cantaride is sweety and creamy, full of sensuality and elegant appearance that are peculiar to vanilla. Is perfectly unisex, but it's not the kind of fragrance suitable for warmer climates, because it can become nauseating. In the cold, however, works beautifully! In the name, there's a word (in parentheses) that says: pennellature, from the Italian. The translation means brush strokes. I found no official references, but I think it should have some relation with the method used to apply the medicine in the past. Cantaride is quite linear, has median projection and high durability on the skin. A beautiful fragrance for lovers of compositions that are rich in vanilla.

True, i can sense a tracing of caviar in this as the vanilla is trying to hide it's rancidity. It's like sweat covered by fragrance or a perfume, while the only note that is supporting the caviar rancidity is the musc besides the kind of leather in here is as well could be a supporter, playing the tough guy role. A bit angelic is there and no patchouli so far. It is a great fragrance to be honest and i was shocked that it smells good tho although i didn't have that high hope of sniffing something of interest.
