Oh wow. This brings back the best memories of being 12. The opening is extremely “Grape Crush.” It’s not just a jammy grape, there’s this playful fizziness to it too that makes me think of drinking a grape soda on a hot summer day. Many other fragrances with fruity top notes fade fast (at least those that I smell). Not Purpl. True to itself, it is “Purpl” all the way to the base, though the grape matures over time. After a few hours, the grape becomes more of freshly sliced grapes, and the vinyl note becomes more prominent. There’s also a powdery “undersmell” (as my mom put it) coming through here. Picture putting on a Brittney Spears CD, playing in your mom’s eyeshadow palette and opening up the new red lipstick you got from the drug store. Your best friend is sitting on one of those plastic inflatable chairs and reading a magazine. You’re both snacking on sliced grapes and strawberries. The end of this fragrance was the most surprising and just so delightful. I have no other way of describing it...it smells like a swim meet! Not just like chlorine, but the snacks, swim caps, giggles, sharpied arms, and cheap shampoos of the locker room. Even though the memories linked to these scents are juvenile to me, I don’t think this is a juvenile perfume. It’s incredibly well balanced and has such an interesting progression. If you like makeup smells or grapes, you’d love this. Those are not notes I typically gravitate towards, and I can’t get enough of this. Purpl is by far the most interesting and delightful fragrance I’ve ever had the pleasure of sampling. It’s not for everyone, nor is it for every day wear, but it is such a treat. One of my favorite perfumes I’ve ever sampled!

It took me ten days of wearing and emptying the sample but now i think i could write something about it. I feel this was the hardest one in the collection for me to express my feelings. Here though. Very simple. Purpl is drunk. It is drunk with joy, lust, thrill, dare, with everything that makes you young and stupid. Purpl for me is pure fun. It is a shield for you, so that nothing serious or mundane can penetrate. It is the smell of the stupid laughter of jocks spiking the prom punch with vodka. Meanwhile it is the merry thoughts of a fresh graduate who planned every detail of his/her start-up that is most probably going to fail. But whatever. Purpl is courage, it is about being happy without having to think about the consequences. It makes you feel better. What more to expect from a perfume? And now the boring part, Purpl, like the name suggests, has the prominent fruit notes such as strawberry and grapes, but after this fruit kick that hurts for a some minutes, while still carrying the grape to the end, mixes it with an iris and various musks combo. Omer Ipekci in his previous collection launched perfumes around themes, with his own interpretation of course, but still they were themes, patchouli, rose-oud, aquatic, etc. However with this Reset collection you can see his creative mindset to the full extent and how he wants to evoke feelings. This is true niche.

This is an interesting fragrance. I would say this is absolutely NOT for everyone. Very artistic, yet still usable for a night club. Raw, unapologetic. Best way I can describe this fragrance and try to visualize it for everyone is this: You are on a snowy mountain, inside of a wooden shack. There is a fireplace inside, but you can still feel the dampness coming from the edges of the windows and the door, since they are not competely isolating the inside. You are laying on a, some would say, comfy sofa, alas not a visually pleasing one. You got some somewhat fresh produce from a closeby village, and got some grapes as well. You are drinking a tad fruity soda, and eating those grapes that are somewhat "fresh", they went sugary, but still delicious. Because of the dampness, you can feel the wooden house breathing somewhat, and get some woody backbone. You can feel the thin blanket heating up from the fireplace, and get a fluffy musk smell from that. This would be the only way for me to visualize this scent honestly. Sweet, fruity, but unapologetic from deep within because of the plasticy and some animalic nuances. I would say that this is a good club fragrance if you want to make yourself the center of attention. Could be too heavy for daily use, but could shine on special days on the colder days.

It's fruity, it's animalic, and there are Nasomatto musks in the mix making this BEYOND UNIQUE -- this is fragrances art right here, niche/indie art, whatever, it is AMAZING. I have smelt quite a lot of scents in the last 10 or so years, and NEVER has something 'stood out' like this. That isn't to say that this is my favourite or anything like that, but it's DISTINCTIVE. For me, the grape/animalic elements create an accord similar to sarsaparilla soda from back in the day -- we used to call it 'Sars' back then (LOLstalgia / names that didn't age well) as well as something 'sweet' -- and by 'sweet' I mean manufactured sweet, like chewable candy or bubblegum. That might be the grape element coming through, I guess... I love this. The more I whiff it, the more I convince myself I need to buy it...

After an initial blast of artificial grapes, for the next few hours I get that classic OG Red Bull aroma (!!!), eventually settling into base of strawberry cotton candy and salty oakmoss. Addition of florals gives a level of sophistication, so the scent never feels childish, just fun. As for the "vinyl" note - I can't make the obvious association to it, rather that the whole fragrance feels artificial and "plastic". Regarding "animalic" notes listed here - official site does not list them, just "sweat" (don't worry it's not sweaty at all). Projection for the first hour is great, then it sit closer to the skin, but still ok. Longevity is 8h+ Overall, this fragrance is incredible, and I’d recommend it to any energy drink lover.

Opens with a blast of grape candy that is accompanied by a musk that smells a bit salty or sweaty As it dries a bit the grape candy is joined with strawberry, still very fruity, artificial and sweet, also juicy The musk is coming off very dirty/sexual in this sense especially after it is joined by vinyl note in the dry down Imagine wearing a full body latex bodysuit and a fur coat over it, going clubbing/sweating in any other type of way in it ;) + add the fruity notes Shame the fruity notes aren't as long lasting

So, uhhh...I've kinda shifted my view on this. It's too faecal animalic. Once the fruity-sweetness goes, it's a little too musky-poopy for me. Everything else about this is great, however...

this smells like a grape swisher but somehow sexy?? I feel like I get an incense note from it as it dries down that isn't listed.

After the grape blast, for animalic notes remind me of corn tortillas for some reason! It’s a sweet and savory gourmand for me.

Purpl took me back to my childhood when I eat strawberry lollipops a lot and also at that time my dad used to buy cotton candy before going to the movies. Purpl took me to those memories. It smells like syrupy strawberry and cotton candy at the opening. After 3-4 hours sweetness gives way to animality but the change is happening slowly. So it can be little bit boring. But after all, everyone I sniffed was so surprised... This is not a scent you can find in perfumes, this is a scent you find in your olfactory memories. Performance is amazing like the other perfumes in the new reset collection.

Bubblegum and grape koolaid. It's very sweet and intoxicating. It smells just like grape candy. The drydown reminds me of make-up. It smells like an expensive menswear shop. There's something buttery in the end, next to the vinyl. It stays close to the skin, it smells very familiar and spectral. It smells young and expensive and it reminds me of "getting high." Grapey and narcotic. It's a cool concept. Grape crack powdery-marshmallow. i like it on my skin. it could be an every-day, it's well-balanced.

This is for someone who wants a fun and fruity scent but different to other offerings on the market. Very medicinal grape soda dominant. You could imagine a vape smelling exactly like this. Personally I'm not really getting any obvious animalic flair with this. I was hoping for a more vintage animalic blend with moss with the fruity aspects, but really this is pure dominant medicinal grape soda. Many may find it too sweet and too cloying. I know it's discontinued now and hard to find, but if you want this sort of fruity flare but with a more musky animalic spin then Magenta Pop is definitely more something I would recommend.

I have tested the entirety of both the collections Pekji has available, and none’s been a bigger disappointment than Purpl. Introduced as “the final stage” of the Reset, Purpl’s supposed to be absurd and to correlate to divine madness. I was ready to experience something utterly otherworldly, and could not imagine anyone better than Ömer İpekçi to pull such a concept off. To my dismay, my ideas of “absurd” and “divine madness” are extremely far from his. I do not see the vision. Yes, Purpl is unique, mostly due to the overwhelming inflatable plastic scent it has, but it’s also extremely generic, because it smells like cotton candy, which is the element that seems to have been carried over from Yes, Please as each fragrance in the Reset collection seems to share one aspect with its predecessor, creating a prolonged, uninterrupted, unbroken narrative. Of the four, it’s also the only one in which I cannot detect any aldehydes. The moment of the spray is gorgeous — it’s a blast of delicious grape candy, my favourite from my childhood, but even more fleeting than that. I get none of the other notes except for the throat burning vinyl, which along with the unlisted cotton candy dominates over this grape candy note, pushing it to the backseat. Despite sitting close to the skin, this concoction is much too cloyingly sweet for me, enough to be suffocating and threatening a headache. This is pure artificiality, and as such, the farthest thing from “divine madness”. It’s really such a shame that the journey that begins with the incredibly original Blacklight and Flesh concludes with such a generically sweet perfume.
