Ellenisia

A very special scent given to me by a very special woman who is, sadly, no longer in my life. This scent is extremely gorgeous and though "marketed" to women is warm and just fruity enough to work on my skin. For Mother's Day this year, I got my Mother the antique Penhaligons hat box (complete with green velvet bow) filled with three shower gels and three lotions, for all the wonderful things SHE buys me throughout the year. Upon inspecting her collection, we discovered she had NO Ellenisisa perfume, so my 10 ml mini is now safe and secure in her Hat Box with the coordinating body products. Though I no longer "Have" it (much like the wonderful gal who gave it to me) it continues to haunt me with its beauty and grace... Upon applying this perfume, my mind wanders to sunny days, long walks in a flower dotted meadow and lovely green leaves all around me; a warm glow of happiness and that feeling that somehow, despite all life's little tricks and drama, everything is going to be okay. As "she" opens up to me, I get the pure rapturous florals of rose (mmmm!), jasmine (creamy and dreamy) and swirls of whipped gardenias...an elegant portrait of floral beauty, obviously inspired by Mother Nature herself. Tuberose, normally so "dirty" and powdery, here is well-behaved and adds a subtle sensuality as opposed to an overtly sexual (or "naughty") vibe; although she is somewhat carnal, albeit in an innocent and playful way. Although the listed notes say the drydown is but plum and vanilla, the beauteous chorus of flowers continue to sing even after some time (which is a true wonder, on my flower eating skin) and this finishes in a haze of fruity vanillic sweet, almost gourmand, bliss; without being too sickeningly fruity or extract-y. She is elegant, poised, not afraid to taste life's forbidden fruits and, make no mistake, she IS every inch a lady! Sillage: very good Longevity: above average Overall: 4.25/5 It is better to have loved (and sniffed) and lost...than to have never experienced such joy and rapture at all! The brief time I was with both Ellenisia and the one who gave it with unconditional love are fond memories I shall not soon forget. A brief "soul dance" is better than having never danced at all... ;)

I LOVE this perfume! Where has this been all my life?! This may even replace or equal Fracas in my heart. If I ever was to become a one-scent woman, this may be it. If! ;) This scent is so well made. Stunning, really. The separate notes are clean, pure & high quality; there is NOTHING fake about this scent. It makes me think antique - NOT old fashioned but the way high quality things used to be made. It's not full of freaky, teenager, chasing-every-fad notes. This scent is classic & classy! So ladylike. The Jasmine, gardenia & tuberose all seem equal but they come out a bit stronger at different times - genius. The rose is more background to my nose & so pretty. And that mandarin orange & violet leaf hold it all together. I barely notice the plum & vanilla but I think they are holding those white flowers in check & keep any of them from going screechy & over-the-top. There are no dirty notes, no musk, no decaying scent, and it stays that way until the next day. This is one of the very rare scents that I could happily drench myself in & float on a cloud of loveliness. The jasmine is that lush, opulent jasmine I get in the Arabian oil scents (similar to "Full" by Al-Rehab ). The tuberose is not the Fracas, buttery/carnal type but a gorgeous sweet floral; so pretty. This gardenia is perfect on my skin. I often have trouble with gardenia going sour/screechy but not this one. This gardenia is pure, flowery, green gardenia. I do think if you dislike white floral scents, you may like this one. It has a fresher, more real flower scent; more like a garden of flowers. Get a sample though, this EDP is EXPENSIVE! This lasts until I wash it off the next day. Even standing in the steam of the shower, I get gorgeous floral notes. The sillage is very good but not room filling unless you really overspray.

I was searching for a feminine white floral scent that is lady-like, feminine and beautiful. Ellenisia fits all my requirement. This perfume was originally inspired from a bouquet of a perfect wedding flower. Penhaligon’s tried to recreate the beauty (with added airy sweetness), and it's wonderful. Ellenisia is a popular wedding fragrance that is so British and kinda vintage(ish), but not old. More like something a princess would wear on her wedding day. The scent is complex and heavenly, soft but powerful, a little bit sweet (because of the plum & vanilla) and airy. It is not sharp and smells sooo royal. Is starts with a soft flowery green with a tiny hint of citrus, then I can smell jasmine, tuberose and beautiful soft gardenia with a little hint of rose. They all blended so well. The dry down is more like soft plum-vanilla-gardenia on my skin. It is really smooth. On me it stays all day on clothes, 5-6 hours on skin, the longevity isn't best but I don't mind reapply. Silage is decent but not overpowering. My husband could smell it in the room, but I'm not sure outside. This heavenly scent is favored by my husband too. He immediately said "mmm this is beautiful and lovely" before I even say anything. This is so me. Totally a FBW if you like sweet floral rich and feminine scent. I can see why people say this kinda similar to Chanel Gardenia. But to me, it is a different scent from the opening to the dry down. Chanel Gardenia is more modern(ish)-sharp-fresh and Ellenisia is a bit vintage(ish)-smooth-sweet. I love both of them tho.

EDIT: I wrote the below review on first acquaintance with Ellenisia... and I was WRONG. I could not have got something similar somewhere else for less (or not easily.) I have a huge appreciation for this perfume after living with it for a while. Also, although I may not always smell it on myself, when my 23 year old daughter wears it, I'm in perfume heaven everytime I go near her, so perhaps projection is more than I realized... It is a downright classy, superb quality perfume, made with skill and grace. I LOVE IT. (Also, I will definitely repurchase, lol.) Previous review: A blind buy - this is a pretty, floral, soft & lovely scent. It really reminds me of The Bodyshop's Moringa - I have the shower gel of that, and I keep thinking of it when I smell this. Also, in the drydown reminds me of Guerlain's Champs Elysees Eau de Toilette, which I have and really enjoy. I love every note in this fragrance, but I find the sillage a little on the low side for me... longevity is great, but it is a skin scent on me, where I was looking for a cloud of loveliness to surround me. :P I feel like I could have got something similar somewhere for less. Happy to have it, though, and will enjoy my bottle to the end, just won't repurchase.

This is what Princesses smell like, I’m sure of it. Your classic European Princess Diaries type of princess, with the castle and all This is no heady white floral. No bubblegum jasmine or tuberose. This is an elegant floating creamy but clear white floral. Clean, sweet, Slightly soapy, a slight tang with raw green undertones. My absolute favorite white floral. So much quality and what a story it tells. It lingers and lasts and retains it beauty from the first spray to the last hour. A maternal smell, non offensive but not homely- it is elegant and mature, although a young lady can wear this perfectly with the right outfit. You can wear this with an elegant dress or a casual pair of well tailored pants, a little to heavy for work however. Perfect for outdoor spring and summer outings and events, and a perfect bridal fragrance. I will be buying a bottle of this classic and will wear it for years to come. Edit: very Similar to Chloe Narcisus but Elenisia has an ethereal quality, and lighter, more green.

Ellenisia is a fresh garden full of tuberose gardenia roses and jasmine.It remembers me a sunny day during summer when the sun warms flowers making them release their fragrance in the air and you walking trough this luxuriant garden are wraped by it. When i first smell Ellenisia it starts with fresh notes that mixed with flowers make a creamy and fruity combination on my skin, it remenbers me of mature red cherries i really do not know why...then it grows in its heart leaving the flowers emerging and dancing around the queen of this fragrance: THE GARDENIA that shows itself in all its opulence.The drydown is enriched by vanilla and plum that give more sweetness to gardenia. i love this fragrance that at first opens shyly but then reaches in its heart strenght and power.it's perfect for girls and weman that wanna be feminine and sensual.i recomend it from my heart!!

Oh my goodness.......if you like white florals and violet notes, this is a must-buy. Even if, like me, you hate vanilla notes this is still a must-buy. There's no vanilla accord whatsoever. Nor do I detect any earthy tuberose. This is beautifully blended. The violet leaf stays into the drydown and the cool, bright florals are heaven on earth. Perfectly English. A perfect blend of old-fashioned soaps and modern perfumery. Staying power isn't great on my skin, but I don't care. This is FBW. I also adore Penhaligon's Violetta (another FBW one). Ellenisia however, is easily the "best" white floral I've ever come across. This even beats Chanel Gardenia as my favourite white floral. I must try more from this line! Edited to add: If you're looking for a honeysuckle frag, there's a fair amount in here, mixing with the gardenia and jasmine. Perfection.

Just like the reviewer below me, this was so familiar when I first applied it, I knew I had experienced it many years ago. Finally it dawned on me, Ellenisia reminds me so much of Casaque, a fragrance I wore when I was about 18, and one that I absolutely adored. I’ve tried a few Casaque-like fragrances over the years in the hope that I could recapture the beauty and delicacy of the original - including Irma Shorell’s version and Lalique L’Amour, but so far nothing has come as close as Ellenisia. A tumble of fresh white florals, a bride’s spring bouquet - just glorious. Moderate projection and pretty reasonable longevity. By no means a beast mode fragrance, but it’s so beautiful and so nostalgic to me, I can live without the other features.

Well, well, this is exactly my cup of tea.. A sweet and romantic floral with some fruity undertones. I smell mostly tuberose, jasmine and gardenia, but the orange, plum and violet leaf is also there. I would describe this as a very feminin fragrance, almost on the girly side, but yet sophisticated and quite elegant. I use it in fall/winter mostly daytime as a work fragrance, but summertime I tend to use it more in the evening when it is a bit cooler. Have found that some white florals tend to smell bad on me in really hot weather, but that is probably just an issue I have with my body chemistry. Longevity is medium on me, about 4-5 h. One of my faves from this brand for sure.

I find myself wishing this perfume could be turned into little, sugared white petal candies, that I can pluck from a crystal dish, pop into my mouth, and let melt on my tongue. Such a delicate, sweet, yet clean floral. The vanilla note, to me, does not register...it's more of a quietly sweet crystal sugar, complementing the floral-sweet of the snowy petals. Not a gourmand perfume at all, yet as one who thinks flower petals seem deliciously edible, it makes my mouth water. (I know....odd) I treasure my little Alice-in-Wonderland-esque bottle, with the little card tucked inside the box that says "Keep Me".... Happily!! :)

She is a dainty, unconventional very English treasure. The scent screams Alice in Wonderland as a floral medow envelops her. She is the subject of intrigue and exudes a naughty sophistication with an inviting waft of vanilla which fights against the crisp and sunny gardenia, jasmine and violet. The plum is jammy and takes centre stage on my skin. When I was gifted this at 16, it was tuberose. It is fresh it is powdery and warm. It's truly captivating and that's the character. A charming woman. This perfume captures the effervescent mood of youthful charisma. And she is gone! Sadly discontinued.

What a lovely lady like fragrance but I have Chanel Gardenia and don't see the similarity. On the opening it is very obviously all about white flowers. I get a wonderful creaminess which I swear is musk. No screechiness here. Sweetness in the background from the plum and orange. A nice bit of kick from the violet leaf all along its timeline. After 30 mins or so the fruit becomes much more prominant as the white flowers fade considerably. It has now become quite sweet and fruity although this is in no way a powerful scent. The plum is very evident. Moderate longevity and sillage.

I love this perfume. It hit all the right notes for me and slightly powdery which I feels add to the warmth of the perfume. I did not really get the top notes which is fortunate because I am not overly fond of any perfume which is over citrusy in a floral perfume. The rose and jasmine mixes well and form the 'bulk' of the perfume. My skin chemistry do 'eat' up this perfume so I need to apply the body lotion to lock the scent. The dry down is a nice vanilla scent which is usual for me because I notice that I tend to 'amplify' vanilla scent towards the end.

With the predominant notes of gardenia, jasmine and tuberose, Ellensia has the potential of being one of those heady, room-filling floral powerhouses. Yet, it's not. Ellenisia is soft and elegant. It smells traditional, but not dated. The opening is all gardenia with a touch of bright green violet leaf while the drydown is all tuberose, but a subtle skin scent tuberose. While I hesitate to wear other white floral perfumes to work, I have no reservations about wearing this beauty anytime or anywhere.

I ́m a Tuberose Lover!! and Elenisia for me it ́s perfect. This is the Tuberose that a typical british Lady would use: gentle, refined, fresh, natural, very decent. I really appreciate the Tuberose scents that achieve to project, to be there without screaming it loud, bothering and invading the others. This is absolutly not polite at all. Elenisia make itself noticed peu à peu, involving you in ist floral freshness, having a great projection. My next purchase for sure! Highly recommended!

ooh my gosh i never smelled the penhalion line before and when i smelled this one i was blown away! soooo torn between another one and ellensia wich is so beautifully blended bouquet of florals and very fresh summer fume...the only thing that hold me back was the price :( lasts quite long too! *sigh* why does that happen when i deceide im going on a perfume dieet edit: proud owner of a bottle ;)yummy!

Ahh, love it, I have a mini from a Penhaligon's set, a perfect replica of the FB. In the shop this smelled like nothing, I had just tried Bluebell and Halfeti and Juniper Sling and many others, my nose was knock-out... But at home its lovely, brings to mind real honeysuckle flowers, although its not exactly the same, and its fleeting, its still wonderful!

Ellenisia is a bouquet of delicate white flowers, not overpowering but lovely like a wedding bouquet. The sillage is moderate but the longevity is phenomenal- I can smell it when I wake up in the morning. My male cat seems to like this every time I put it on, rubbing his face into my wrist. I get the same reaction from my husband. :)

Soooo gorgeous! This is so well blended and smooth and sophisticated. It's very delicate, it works for elegant and feminine outfits. It's also a bit green, an almost powdery white floral. Unfortunately it turns into a skin scent pretty quickly (2 hours tops). All in all fantastic, too bad it doesn't last longer.

I think this is tottaly adorable! It does remind me a bit of Juicy Couture, but much finer! The tuberose is unbelivable strong and so so feminine. On the skin it does warm up resulting in a very gentle, feminine, attractive smell. Very " come to me " fragrance! My favourite at the moment. Love it very much!

One of a Pengaligons miniature set. Very pretty, I only get the gardenia and very weak, lasted less than an hour on me. As a little girl I loved the Pengaligons shop in central London, all the pretty bottles and scents, as an adult I find the collection underwhelming and not worth the price.

This fragrance is lovely. Green orange in the opening, with white florals and a hint of sweet plum. Very fresh and pretty. I like this one very much. I am not sure if all of Penhaligon's fragrances are skin scents, but all the fragrances I have tried from this house have been very intimate.

I have smelled something like this before, somewhere in my childhood, somehow. Best words to describe this scent is floral, slightly powdery with hints of fruit and fairy dust! Pure child fantasy in a bottle!

What a wonderful fragrance! As Golden said its really long lasting. This scent is a kind of aromatherapy, you feel yourself in a blossoming flower garden.

Beautiful!! Love it! I absolutely smell the tuberose, gardenia and violet leaves, not so much rose. Too bad it is a little low in longevity...

Why do houses always discontinue their most beautiful perfumes? I just don’t understand... please bring it back 🙏

I've had this for quite some time now, but have hardly worn it. I'm going through this period where I am focusing on the many fragrances I've purchased, loved/liked, then promptly forgot about as the next fragrance comes along. Regardless of how old fashioned they appear to be, I have always had a weakness for white florals, especially gardenia. Curiously, I knew this was a white floral, but didn't recall the notes. The thing that made me happy was right off the bat, I smelled gardenia. Of course, it's just a trick of the light, or scent in this case, there was no mistaking it for tuberose - which does emerge later - and before my nose was more properly trained, I couldn't tell the difference. Here I definitely could. However, it's not my favorite gardenia. That honor would likely go to Van Cleef & Arpels Gardenia Petale, followed by Annick Goutal's Gardenia Passion. There's something fairly vegetal lurking in the back of this one that is sharp enough to interfere with the otherwise creamy juice. That's not a deal breaker for me, though it does make it a Like rather than a Love. I've given up complaining about longevity and projection, as it's almost a given due to the never ending bans imposed on the industry by the IFRA. You really need to go with independent perfumeries if that's what your after. I wouldn't hesitate to mention Jeffrey Dame, not only for the performance, but also for the creativity. I am certain this will get more use this time around. I think it's over priced for what it is, but if you can find a deal and favor white florals, particularly gardenia, then by all means, pick it up. I think it's safe to blind buy if you're a white floral fan.

I like it! I really like it!! Which isn't surprising given my love for gardenia and other white florals. This feels very ladylike and refined. It's not groundbreaking, but I certainly don't believe, nor want, everything to be so. Sometimes, I just want to smell pretty, and clean, and Ellensia fits that to a tee. It starts off a bit heady with the white flowers, but quickly calms down and avoids oppressive territory. It is not Carnal Flower, nor Fracas, nor any of the other monster tuberose/gardenia/jasmine bombs, which I do love, but are a bit "extra" for a spring or summer day. I would be comfortable wearing a light spray of this to work. In sum, if you want a pleasant, ladylike, white floral you can easily wear in the spring and the summer, I highly recommend Ellensia. Now I need to try Penhaligon's Lily of the Valley! I love exploring perfume houses that I've never worn before! EDIT 7/22/2020 - I now own a full bottle of this, and I have downgraded it from a Love to a Like. Maybe I applied too much, but for some reason it smells a bit artificial to me, and slightly cloying. I think I could love it if it was an EDT and more sheer, but I am going to have to play with this. I will try mixing a few sprays into an unscented body cream, which might be very nice for summer.

Ellenisia is a sweet, youthful floral. Like many Penhaligon's fragrances (except for Amaranthine) it is well-mannered and oh-so-British. There is something slightly precious and "twee" about it that makes it endearing. In fact, I can't help but feel that this would make a lovely first fragrance for a young girl. It has all of the elements that fragrances marketed to younger women today have (vanilla-fruity-floral notes) but is much more ladylike and restrained than most mass market scents. The bottle is an absolute treasure, too (the current one has the pink bow). The heady floral notes of Jasmine and gardenia are most prominent, tempered with a hint of green from the violet leaf. Vanilla amps up the already-sweet floral notes, bringing an almost creamy deliciousness to this scent. The dry down remains bright, sweet, and fizzy -- never veering into powdery or musky territory. Ellenisia is just downright pretty! It's like a smile in a bottle: playful, young (or young at heart), and very emphatically flowery. The sillage and longevity are moderate - this seems to be the case with most of Penhaligon's scents, but it shouldn't necessarily be a deal breaker -- reapplying is quite a pleasure ;)

ELLENISIA is so pretty and happy, like a clear morning in spring still clinging to winter’s chill. (LOTR fans should get that reference.) Sometimes violet can make me sad, as in Apres L'Ondee, but not Ellenisia. It stays green and upbeat, all the way through. It's slightly green opening is surprisingly similar to AL'O but without the anise. Although I love AL’O, I think I would prefer Ellenisia as it must be the anise in the opening that seems to pull my mood down. This is definitely FBW for me. I can close my eyes and see the first green shoots poking through the gray cold earth - one of my most beloved harbingers of spring. The jasmine, gardenia and tuberose all play so nicely together that no one stands out in a harsh or headache-inducing way, making it a white floral that some white floral-haters might be able to wear. Dry down is a pretty violet and plum, although it could be a little woodier. I would love some smooth wood here. Vanilla is around just to give a little depth, not noticeable as vanilla. Moderate sillage and excellent longevity, going on 6 hours and it is still going strong. Perfect spring scent!!

I indicated autumn as preferred season for this scent - I usually like florals in autumn and winter and avoid them in spring - but I think this would be wonderfully perfect in summer. Its orange presence, taming the white florals, is a stupendous twist for winter (I am enjoying Ellenisia a lot these freezing days). But it would be likewise wonderful in summer, on those summer evenings when the heat is not terrible, you are not sweaty and a stole on your shoulders would be welcomed if you stay in a garden or walking along the seaside or a lake. The white flowers are beautiful, not too strong and, as others pointed out, this is perfect for those who do not like white florals. The gardenia, a note not usually easy to achieve in a scent, is beautiful and not artificial smelling at all. I can sense it paired with the jasmine while I do not feel the tuberose. Very ladylike, very elegant, classy, not too formal, not cloying, not choking, perfect in its simplicity but not banal or boring. One of the best Penhaligon's, I would find it the perfect wedding day scent. Any season. BEAUTIFUL.

I have just finished my third bottle of this, but I think that it may be my last. The first time I tried this, it was instant love - white flowers are absolutely my jam - and I loved how light and fresh it seemed compared to some of the heavier tuberose concoctions I owned. Perhaps familiarity has bred contempt, but I'm now just a little bored of this one, and long for something with a bit more oomph. That's not to say that YOU won't love it though. If you love Gardenia but need something fresher and greener for spring spritzing then this may be what's missing from your wardrobe. The longevity and sillage are actually fairly potent, but this doesn't sink into the skin and stays mainly on its top level for the whole wear time. It's really beautiful and smells just like spring blossoms, but ultimately I don't think that it has enough heart for me anymore.

Great, Fragrantica threw me out just as I was going to submit my review. The review by "Guest" below is mine. This was one of the very first niche fragrances that I tested over a year ago and I instantly liked it. After using up my sample, I ordered a full bottle and this has been my go-to-scent for spring and summer, both work and free time. Easy to wear, beautiful, happy, ladylike and classy but not in a too stiff or buttoned-up way but rather a cheerful and happy way. All the notes are easily distinguishable, too. The opening is fresh, heart is distinctively floral but not in a screechy way, though there is a slight sharpness in it. Towards drydown, Ellenisia becomes softer and sweeter and also weaker. However, it does linger on clothes quite a long time. I'd say the projection and longevity are both moderate.

My sample is from Penhaligon's scent library, so it is just a small phial and therefore very difficult to get the right dosage. I feel like I don't have enough when applying a few dabs. However, this rich white floral is pretty strong at the beginning. Iteven has an animalic note. I don't really recognise that as tuberose, but it certainly smells old school in vein of Lanvin's Arpège. It is slightly skanky, however this does notlast very long and it quickly becomes a skin scent. So far this is my favouriteof the scent library. Iris Prima, although being rather lovely, is so light that it disappears almost immediately. Not enough of an impression on that one to write a review. This one, Ellenisia, definitely makes an attempt at a statement.

This is a very pretty floral scent. Probably best for mild (or even chilly) days; I think it could be a bit overwhelming on a hot day. I think it would pair perfectly with a sundress or nautical wear, on a breezy spring day. Great longevity (over eight hours), and low sillage (but lovely when it wafts in a breeze). Lots of white flowers (I smell about equal amounts of gardenia and tuberose, backed by a light jasmine), with a lovely fruity underpinning of plum. Interestingly, I sprayed this about half an hour ago on one arm, and Serge Listens Cedre on the other arm, and now I genuinely can't remember which is which! 🤔 I wouldn't have said they were similar, but there you go! Maybe that information will be handy to someone one day!

I think the scent is absolutely beautiful, such a creamy floral and so ladylike. Overall a very elegant fragrance however the longevity to me is so poor which really let's it down. The openings last for about 30 minutes or so before drying down into a really creamy gardenia yet after that it becomes a very flat, skin scent. After 4 hours I smell absolutely nothing which is such a shame! I think it smells very similar and invokes the same feelings as Tocca Florence, if I were to choose between the two it would be the Tocca as it just lasts longer on my skin and is also a much more reasonable price then Ellenisia.

Just like someone else mentioned, this reminds me of Dior Poison, the first and classic one. While I can't stand Poison even in small doses, I really like Ellenisia: it's refined, ladylike -unlike its Femme Fatale sister- elegant and just a little bit powdery. If not for its price, I would consider buying a small bottle of it, even though gardenia kai florals aren't my thing; but then I do have to have something to wear that smells just pretty and nice instead of spicy and heavy. However, the price along with its lack of staying power, make this a no-go for me:(

On me, this is very nearly the identical twin of Chanel Gardenia. Chanel has a tinge more dry vanilla, and Ellenisia has a tinge more heady floral, but they are so alike I would never need both. Since the disappearance of Chanel Gardenia edp and parfum, I am delighted to have Ellenisia. To me, Ellenisia smells like a bright jasmine with very dry vanilla undertones. It doesn't smell at all like the gardenia in my yard, but it does smell like the Arabian Jasmine. Ellenisia is a fragrance that transcends time and fashion and just smells beautiful.

So elegant. So sophisticated. Classic. Yet youthful, flirty and fresh. Ellenisia offers a white floral scent, without being sticky, cloying, heavy or ranky. The creamy, white gardenia is like a soft blanket, and the tuberose is tamed down to it's anti-carnal sister-version. Kinda. To me anything with gardenia in it just triggers the "monoï-oil" part of my nose. And Ellenisia does too. Well. Kinda. If the monoï oil was used by an elegant english lady in an elegant english hansom that is being pulled by elegant white english horses that is.

On my skin, Ellenisia is rather soapy. It starts also like a very mature woman, almost an older lady. Sometime later there are two notes that kick in (vanilla and I suppose the orange) that give a sparkly twist, what makes Ellenisia appear a little younger. At one sniff I think it would be a great perfume for when I'm 30 or 40, at the other I would like to wear it now. One thing's for sure: it is English, indeed.

I bought this scent in Hawaii at the Penhaligons boutique in Honolulu. I wanted something to remind me of my trip there, and it does. Its a very nice white floral scent that does not get too heady. However I did have a client say she didn't love it on me. It was very expensive though and I sometimes regret my decision, however its 3 years old now and still has its quality.

This is a strong like. I like wearing it on those spring days that are hot as you go into the summer. This + a white blouse = beautiful. This is also wonderful for special occasions. This a bride. A girl wearing her very first “grown up” perfume as she heads to prom in 1955. This is what “adult” smells like to a little girl. A rite of passage in a bottle.

i want to tell everyone gardenia dos not have perfume, and in " gardenia" scents there is tuberose and vanilla, so in this one there is a very beautiful tuberose but a diurne tuberose not a nocturne, with fresh and sweet depart and a green end but a very fresh green not earthy at all ! i will not buy it cause i prefer much more Beyond Love tuberose

Oh yes! This is right up my alley! Happy white floral which is absolutely not overpowering. I sense a lily-of-the-valley (which is an illusion)-- maybe this is honeysuckle, as another reviewer noted. Not powdery on me. Not soapy on me either, but it does smell clean and fresh. Just a burst of springtime. Oh, I like this one!

This was too sweet for me at the beginning, but settles down to a lovely fresh smell. I want to love it, but unfortunately I can barely smell it an hour later and the longevity is terrible. I'll give it another couple of tries, but I'm disappointed.

This is a very pretty feminine scent. Very white, delicate and soapy. I like it very much but my heart does not flutter but is still fb worthy if the price is right. Very Brit for sure.

I really loved this (especially around the pandemic oddly enough) but now I find it intoxicating - and not in the good way. Too many florals for me.

it is pretty , refined indeed. Little sugared white flowers. only problem to me is longevity, which seems to be a mere 4-5 hours.
