Orange Blossom

Found the last bottle of this discontinued beauty in Penhaligon’s boutique in Edinburgh. It’s fresh, feminine, very sensual fragrance, which makes you feel real good about yourself. I guess that there are plenty of white florals fragrances available which made people neglect Penhaligon’s Orange Blossom and as a result got it discontinued. However, if you like this profile and still can find it in the store, please give it a try! You are fresh from shower, wearing a pretty white dress in a garden full of greens and flowers and all you have to do is enjoy here and now. Not too bad, ha?! Husband loves it on me too!

Love this one. I adore Orange blossom and there are quite a few scents out there, but many opt for a light, fresh, summer cologne approach but i prefer my Orange blossom to have oomph and sexiness and very few scents go down that path. This one does,there is sensuality, depth and presence, a strong body rather than the light ephemerality that appears to be de rigueur with so many Orange Blossom. It has some sweetness which I am comfortable with but it is not cloying and as with most Penhaligon's creations, it has complexity and multiple layers. As I said....I love it.

This is a beautiful fresh orange Neroli perfume enriched and made creamy and slightly Indolic with Tuberose and Jasmine.This is followed by a warm woody Drydown.There is enough warmth for this floral to be worn in cooler weather and longevity is pretty good.The warmth can be attenuated by combining with Jo Malone Nutmeg and Ginger which shares a comparable Cedar base. Orange Blossom is a highly underrated stunning rich Orange Blossom fragrance that is vastly superior to the Sweet popular orange Blossom scents that currently seem to rule the roost.

Lovely scent: so fresh and sweet, it smells like a beautiful summer night in the country. Neroli and orange are prominent but the tuberose is so creamy and sweet, so enchanting. It's rather rare to find a fresh smell that manages to layer some sweetness without getting cloying or boring: this does it perfectly. As with others Penhaligon's classics, sillage isn't a strong point: it's a quiet scent, that stays close to the skin and even longevity isn't great. In 4 hours is gone. Pity, for such a wonderful scent.

This has to be one of the most beautiful smells, ever. I've watched a review of this, whereby someone describes this perfume as encompassing the whole orange tree...and I totally agree. Elegant, beautiful, summery, happy, refined. I just can't stop smelling myself when I wear this. A wonderful spring/ summer scent. As with all Penhaligons...quite expensive. But this is one that I will always repurchase. Well worth it.

This is the perfect summer scent! Very gentle, clean, floral orange blossom, not a bitter or woody neroli. It's a young fragrance, very innocent, paired perfectly with a touch of jasmine and peach; the faint note of tuberose helps to ground it. Inoffensive and beautiful perfume. A safe blind buy if you like suble florals, or if you wish to layer an orange blossom over another soft scent.

I love this so much!! It’s a creamy, fresh, orange blossom that I can’t get enough of! It’s a straight up orange blossom scent! It opens up spicy but dries down beautifully!!! The longevity on this is all day and it’s Sillage on me is amazing! This is one of the safest scents I can wear around everyone without offending anyone. It’s a classy scent 🥰

Lovely stuff. Orange blossom meets other flowers. Slightly on the feminine side of unisex but I love wearing it. I bought it at the same time as Castile (which is also Orange Blossom based though very different in execution) but so far at least it's this one I wear most.

I am loving this definitely. My daily go to scent now and I only got this in the 30ml so I feel the need to restock! It changes though. Some days it comes off sharp but sometimes it comes off creamy which is intruiging. Some may say it’s linear but it isn’t for me.

Orange Blossom is a comforting scent for me that creates an aura of calm. It has a creamy neroli and soft white floral opening. The drydown turns a bit more like sandalwood. I love Orange Blossom for before bed or when I want a tranquil feeling around me.

Creamy orange blossom on a sunny day. Small hints of jasmine in the background. Zero tuberose, thankfully. It's light and fresh and sophisticated. Nothing like Diptyque Do Son, which is heavy tuberose and gardenia. Really lovely, summer scent.

Penhaligon's has perfectly captured a warm evening spent relaxing among orange trees, their intoxicating flowers in full bloom. There’s a little citrus in the air but the star of the show is creamy, sweet, honeyed orange blossom.

The longer I own this, the more I love it. It's sweet and soapy but also spicy and woody. Why Penhaligons would choose to discontinue this is beyond me.

Lovely and light. Reminds me of my first summer in London. I wish they were still making it.

Bought this at a bargain price and for a long while, it remained in its attractive black packaging. When I finally got around to uncorking the bottle and taking an initial splash, I found it just a pleasant orange, but nothing more. Revisited again recently and really took time to explore the scent, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that there is so much more to it than the sparkly bright orange notes I had picked up and dismissed. On first application I immediately smell orange and (strangely) smoke - quickly followed by an overwhelming bergamot, which with earlier notes gives an impression of sun-bleached grass. This layer lingers like the diva's end note - but for the duration of the song. Although the perfume doesn't contain it, I detected what smelled like incense starting to peek through somewhere in dry down - it must have been the sandalwood. The orange disappears, and is replaced with a musky base note and spicy vanilla essence which clings to the skin and reminds me of the faint scent of old paper and hot dusty library. I admit that this is perhaps not everyone's idea of lovely, but then I've always enjoyed the scent of things that others find odd - like incense, tarmac and creosote. Penhaligon's Orange Blossom is a warm and comforting scent, a long-lasting base note clinger with very little sillage (at least on me anyway). I can't stop breathing it in.

Tuberose disguised in an orange blossom bottle. The top notes are very tame, transparent and complex. Citrus from neroli, transparency from violet leaves, a hint of contrast from pink pepper. So far, it's true to its name. After 20-30 minutes, this fragrance unfurls into a tuberose scent on me. A touch of orange can be detected. The orange note is sweet rather than zesty or overly citrusy. After the transparent top notes are gone, the perfume becomes quite dense and plush. The tuberose in the heart is similar to Diptyque's Do Son edp, opaque and peppery. This dries down to a sandalwood-heavy musk. The more time I allow this scent to develop, the more intense it gets. I agree with a previous reviewer who mentioned the interchangeability with Diptyque's Do Son. The expression of tuberose is very similar between the two fragrances, having said that, Penhaligon's is overall more complex and offers a old-world-like muddier, woody dry down.

i think this fragrance has macerated quite a bit because it is so much creamier smelling now and lasts longer than when i first opened it several months ago. it was a blind buy because penhaligons was having a huge sale of unboxed inventory. i think this is a very true orange blossom. honestly i don’t pick up on any other notes except maybe a bit of musk. it’s grown on me a lot. i don’t know why, but for some reason this seems to me what joan didion would have smelled like. something about it just exudes california in the 1970s, in a grove of orange trees by a patio and pool in spring. it’s a little mature but not to a point where i feel like i as a 23 year old smell too old when i wear it. it’s just creamy and nice. i don’t think it’s worth the full price however. it lasts about 5 hours on me. i adore penhaligons bottles so i love the look of this.

This is a truly authentic orange blossom scent. It's not necessarily what I would call pretty, but it has depth and complexity and is quite intoxicating. It opens with a burst of citrus and leafy/stemmy notes, before settling down into a deep and slightly soapy neroli, with woody undertones. It's very much a 'whole tree' scent. I do understand the criticism that it might seem overly masculine or rough to some people. Orange blossom has never been a delicate scent to me, but I wouldn't call it masculine either. To me this scent is truly unisex and ageless. I'm very interested to compare it to Jo Malone's take on orange blossom.

I've sampled a lot from this house and while I think they do a lovely job with their frags, florals and green scents rarely work with my skin and thus nothing from this house really suits me. If you're a floral/green scent person I say they are worthy of a try. With that said, of those I've tried, I find Orange Blossom the most pleasing on my skin and to my taste. With the notes I was expecting a "citrus" but It is a lovely soft and creamy neroli, clean and soapy as others have stated, sweetish and very comforting on my skin. Nice.

My gf brought a tester paper of this and i was in love, so we ordered and waited deadly. First spray just made me forget about this melting weather. Look at this variety of notes, its just so many of them but surprisingly nothing pops out or play separately. The combination is just so right and they only make the orange flower even prettier. Very suitable for summer. Its the simplest citrus scent ive ever tired but i want to give it the highest value.

Nice neroli comfort scent, long lasting for an EDT: over 4 hours and it hasn't turned into a skin scent. I agree with other reviewers that there is a lot going on in this bottle, I can't pull out all the individual notes. That doesn't compromise the scent, or my opinion, I still like it. Maybe not groundbreaking but I can imagine I would find a lot of opportunites to wear OB. Contemplating a purchase.

This is a really nice orange blossom fragrance. As others have mentioned, it does encompass the entire orange tree with woody, green, and soapy floral aspects to it. I actually love this scent, but the performance is atrocious (at least the current formulation). If it performed better on me this would be full bottle worthy. I find this similar to Obvious' Une Fleur d'Oranger and Diptyque Eau des Sens.

I feel like I get much more of the spice in this one on my skin than other reviewers; on me this is almost too heavy for spring. I enjoy it for late winter into early spring, in spite of it admittedly having way too much going on, and not lasting particularly long on me. Orange Blossom is if Remarkable People from Etat Libre d'Orange had an uptight older sister.

Neroli and bergamote are noticeable among the top notes, and the scent is bitter and fresh. Some minutes later it softens and gets sweeter and soapier, and on my skin I get lots of orange blossom and maybe some rose. The drydown is quite sweet and musky. It has very good lasting power and medium sillage.

This is gorgeous and gives my current favorite orange blossom perfume (Houbigant's) serious competition. I love the sparkling zesty orange note here that balances out the heady orange blossom note (that can get quite stuffy and bathroom-cleaner'ish in other renditions). Lovely perfume.

If you already have Do Son Diptique - you do not need Orange Blossom Penhaligons. The opening is too similar. More citrycy version of Do Son to my nose. If you do not have Do Son - this frag is lovely, floral, feminine, summery!

Too much tuberose for me, and I think a bit too much for a fragrance with the name "Orange Blossom." But definitely a good choice for a softer tuberose - it's not overwhelmingly cloying like many tuberose-focused fragrances are.

Very redolent of my childhood - slightly cloying with a strong musk undertone. I don't dislike it, but it's too sweet and not citrusy enough for me. It's not a young perfum at all I don't think.

I tested this on my arm with Chabaud's Orangerie Musicale on the other. Its summer where I'm at (31 degrees Celsius). It opens with a blast of citrus and A LOT of FLORALS. It smells like lotion or soap to me and leans on the "classier" side of fragrances (compared to Orangerie Musicale which, IMO leans on the "fun and pretty" side). This is a good choice for summer or spring. As it dries down, it becomes a floral-woody combo on my skin (Orangerie Musicale dries off sweet and floral on my skin due to the sugar-almond-vanilla combo). I actually prefer Orangerie Musicale to this. But I like this better than Diptyque Eau des Sens. des Sens is too sharp on my skin and it smells really synthetic on me.

Opens with sharp and slightly medicinal greens, evolving into sweet woody florals after some time on the skin. I didn’t get much citrus. I was surprised at how heavy and medicinal Í found this perfume, kind of like ointment? Ultimately a very complex scent that evolves a lot on the skin and ends with warm white floral drydown. I would imagine it would fit well in a springtime garden party.

The opening has a slight spice but this scent is mainly citrus with a hint of floral. It has a soft projection overall, and only had decent sillage for about 2 hours. The drydown is a really nice sweet floral musk but it's a faint skin scent at the 5 hour mark. I'd say this leans feminine.

too many not well mixed notes. a mess. the tuberose orange blossom mix is excellent, but it is a pale imitation of the masterpiece serge lutense fleurs d'orange mixed with the great castile. 5/10

Very nice indeed, but in this range you have to look for something long-lasting and more affordable.

Maybe someone should tell the Penhaligon's nose than less is more? Orange Blossom is obviously a fragrance with a lot of orange blossom, but there is also a jungle of notes that end up being unrecognisable. A big floral bouquet with everything mixed in it- some spices, some woods, some flowers. But it is a bit messy. There are no phases here, just a bunch of all of those notes mixed together. A floriental scent with some greenery and musk. It definitely has got the Pehnaligon's pleasant creaminess about it which I absolutely love. But... well, it is not enough to make me like it. There is at least a dozen fantastic orange blossom fragrances I can think of at the moment that do the job a lot better.

I recently received a sample of Orange Blossom, and sadly, this fragrance expressed far too powdery on my skin. The neroli and tuberose diminished within the first minute, and the cloyingly sweet powder notes took over, giving me a headache. Within 5 minutes of applying, I could only detect rose, jasmine and musk buried in a powder cloud. Maybe this one isn't compatible with my body chemistry, would be willing to try other Penhaligon's fragrances with different notes.

This was so disappointing, I was expecting a lovely, feminine neroli scent, but in return I got a bitter and green mess which reminded me of some old school male cologne. Really, the fragrance is not what one could expect from such name. Anyhow, I don't like it. It's too bitter, too messy, too masculine, too rough, too soapy. Sad.

I grew up with a huge navel orange tree in my garden and this fragrance makes me wonder if perhaps orange blossoms are an entirely different species of flower in England. There is nothing but soapy powdery musk on my skin. Nothing floral, no citrus at all, just a headache and regrets.

This scent reminds me of vintage 80s Orange Flower Water by Crabtree & Evelyn. It came in an indigo blue glass bottle and I was so sad to see it discontinued. I'm getting the same kind of vibe from Penhaligon's Orange Blossom, except naturally the Penhaligon's is much more potent...more than a few squirts and you run the risk of overdose. Bertrand Duchaufour did a masterful job with Orange Blossom. I react to "musk" differently than most people, it can really be a turn-off for me, but here in OB, it is not an issue whatsoever. Nor is the "citrus" an issue, which my skin chemicals normally mutate into something ghastly, here in OB, it is lively and fresh throughout the opening and mid-way point. Sometimes the indole factor in certain jasmine varieties can be somewhat revolting, but here in OB, I'm not detecting any indole skank at all. This is for the most part a white floral scent, yet halfway through, the rose becomes quite apparent. I normally have issues with rose being mixed with, just about everything, but here in OB, it somehow works. Perhaps it's a white rose. The tuberose is spectacular, on par with Fracas. My hat goes off to Monsieur Duchaufour for crafting this amazing white floral fantasy. I am also a big fan of his "Sartorial", also from Penhaligon's.

Orange blossom is an orange grove in the spring time. Cool breezes caress the orange trees and bring out the aroma. This is a delicious orange scented perfume. If you like orange blossom, this will scratch your itch. It smells exactly like orange blossom. But it has other things going on. At the first spritz it's a neroli and citrus. Fresh, sharp, and enjoyable although quite strong. The other floral notes that join the orange blossom include rose jasmine tuberose and orchid. They can't always be detected but the rose is a citrus-rose not a green rose or powdery rose. The jasmine is also present. The citrus/orange blossom lingers the whole time and finally the fragrance dries down to woods and vanilla. Mature, elegant, fresh and floral. I wear this in the summer time and to wedding gigs where I perform as a paid wedding singer. Orange blossom is a traditional bridal flower, but one that has become less popular compared to white flowers of gardenia and lily of the valley. I do love my orange blossoms.

box stamped 83471, online order from penhaligon in uk: i don't get it. for me, feeble orange. although sprayed on my skin, the effect is as if it were sprayed on cardboard. flat, no projection at all. doesn't seem to warm up or expand with time. after reading all the positive reviews, i was hoping for a light orange punch, uplifting and sunny. since i have only a few neroli/orange fragrances, i wanted to explore additions to my citrus grouping because i love the smell of freshly peeled oranges and mandarins. having lived in california where orange trees with their neon orange fruit provide an aura of perky sunshine through the winter months, i wanted something that could be fun in warm weather and cheery in the colder. maybe a cool overcast day is not the right time, but i was hoping to brighten things a little.

I am wearing this scent combined with Douro also from Penhaligon's. I really like the pureness of the Neroli that comes through in this creation. I think this is the kind of scent that an individual would wear for their own pleasure rather than for the enjoyment of others. What is most enjoyable about this scent is the subtlety. Neroli is the dominant note in my mind. I am currently wearing it on top of a multiple of scents; I washed with Molton Brown's Bushukan and applied Blenheim Bouquet lotion on top. A generous spray of Penhaligon's Douro followed by Orange Blossom to finish. The end result is a nice smell of citrus on the skin. I feel the Orange Blossom can mix well with many Penhaligon's scents. I think it would combine amazingly with Juniper Sling.

Sampled this in the shop a week, or so ago. I felt instantly in love with this so realistic orange blossom frag. I actually was in the shop to buy The Ruthless Duchess Dorothea and after the shop assistant applied OB on my wrist I knew I will definitely get it as soon as I can, for now I only got the hand and body wash. Pure bliss in my morning shower. Orange blossom is obviously about the flower itself, however there are more notes which makes it very sophisticated and elegant and yes there is this kind of soapy clean feel attached to it as well, but not like in a detergent product, and like in a freshly washed skin with a luxurious soap. Really love that one.

I used to love Orange Blossom by Jo Malone until they got taken over by Estée Lauder and the quality dropped off. I was given the Penhaligons Orange Blossom as a gift and it instantly got me over my sadness about the JM. It's a bright, happy citrus forward floral. It's beautiful on it's own but it layers so well with other fragrances. I especially love it with fluffy vanillas or musks. I currently have about half a bottle left and I don't know how I'll replace it when I have used it all!

I find this to be such an underrated perfume; a wonderful tribute to the orange blossom. It can be worn comfortably in all seasons. It is not “diapery” powder but something more refined. I feel especially healthy and somewhat beautifully earthy when I’ve gotten a medium natural tan, my skin is moisturised and glowing, and I’m fit, wearing this fragrance.

i ordered a decant of this, allthough the notes sounds like it could be sweet, well its NOT :-( tried it on paper and on my skin, IMO it smells like a mulheuns 4711 cologne with some floral notes :'( such a shame! i had high hopes for this, very dissapionting

All I can smell is bitter violet leaves from this perfume. Later on it turns very faint vanilla. I was expecting floral, refreshing blooming perfume. Unfortunately, this perfume doesn't meet up my expectation. Very disappointing.

A sweetish orange-blossom/vanilla combo with a subtle floral accord. Nice if you like the genre but far from being a standout. Rating: 6/10

Floral orange. Good sillage for first 3 hours. Turns a bit soapy on my skin after an hour or so. Not bad, but wouldn't buy a full bottle.
