Vra Vra Vroom

It starts off tart and even a bit sour, which I suspect comes from the magnolia but then it softens into a beautiful apricot scent. At first, I couldn't understand what people meant when they said this smelled like body odor because to me, it smelled exactly like those floral-scented origami papers. But when I sprayed in on my skin I instantly picked up on the cumin note and could see why people might interpret it that way. For me though, it’s what makes the fragrance more interesting. It adds a bit of quirkiness without tipping into unpleasant body odor territory. Perhaps its the apricot but the sweetness in this perfume reminds me a lot of Louis Vuitton Pacific Chill though in a less aquatic and more floral way.

On my skin, this one projects fabulously, not beast but not to silent. just enough for you to smell all beautiful notes. there is something in this scent at keeps me on sniffing on. not sweet but right amount of natural sweetness you get from apricot and mandarin and when the beautiful floral scents kicks in, as if you will get a "sparkling water with citrus and osmanthus tea note while wearing a clean cashmere gloves and sipping between thick trees. It has similar brightness with Dries Van noten's "Fleur du Mal". it stays on my skin for 6-7 hours. overall its a greenish fruity bright scent, slightly clinically-clean medicinal which the collection is all about.

This was by far my favorite of the Potions and Remedies discovery set. It feels so luxurious! I got a bottle for Christmas and it's gorgeous!! It sits very well on me and I get a nice osmanthus from it. Honestly, the leather smells more musky/powdery on me, which is why I am okay with it (not a leather fan). The only issue I have is that when I first spray it, there is always a isopropyl alcohol smell (and apparently taste too, from what my sister said when she was talking to me in my room) that wafts around for a little. VERY expensive though.

The apricot and magnolia stand out to me the most. A very nice sophisticated floral fragrance. It is suitable for a man or woman to wear this but the notes appeal to women shoppers more, and goes under the radar from the male spectacle. Can be described as a blue, young, light scent worn on mild to hot mornings and afternoons. Very playful, safe blind buy if that is what you are looking for.

OH I need this so badly. I fell in love. It's gorgeous apricot-y osmanthus. The dry-down is a bit powdery but not overwhelming, and is rounded out by a tea-like aroma. I'm not really getting any rose. I really know why many reviewers are smelling BO or cumin??? This smells like freshly washed hair. It's not a "dirty" fruity leathery smell, it's soapy.

The wife loves it. I definitely enjoy the fragrance, but not on myself, definitely leans more feminine, smells amazing on her and pairs well with hanuman

Very pleasant, reminds me of Amouage's Journey after the drydown. However when I smelled the bottle it had a bit of Sunshine vibe.

Absolutely GLORIOUS perfume. Osmanthus, magnolia, and apricot makes a wonderful combo. If only it lasted a little longer..

The feeling of biting into a ripe apricot, juice spilling all over your fingers. It's a strong, fruity scent that evokes images of sliced fruit perched upon a bowl of yoghurt, a summery breakfast. Vra Vra Vroom is a little too feminine for my personal wearing tastes, but both a friend of mine and my sister love this fragrance. It gets criticism for being "shampooey", and whilst I understand that critique, I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing. It's not that it smells like actual shampoo, necessarily, but it's a juicy, fruity fragrance that's typical of what shampoo brands sometimes go for. If "smelling like shampoo" really just means smelling like juicy fruit, I'm not opposed to that! And if you're smelling like bath products, that's quite often something people associate with being clean and freshly showered anyway. There's a sugary dry down that lingers for hours after the initial spray. It gets almost a little watery and jammy after a while and stays super refreshing in the heat — it would be great for hot summer days or spring walks through the grass. It does have a youthfulness to it, maybe because of the uncomplicated sweetness, but it might be a little out of the budget for younger buyers. Still, if you have the money to spare, it's got an absolutely beautiful bottle design, a charming concept, and a very lush, ripe scent.

Apricot and osmanthus are often paired, and here they’re joined by a soft, pleasantly smooth leather note; nothing barnyard-like at all. I still don’t fully get along with osmanthus, but I enjoyed this one, mostly because the apricot is beautifully done. Combined with the other florals, it makes for a well-crafted composition. Toward the drydown, I picked up a faint smoky note (though it’s not listed). It’s an easy-to-wear, easy-to-remember kind of fragrance and a charming one at that.

Totally understand some of the rubber/latex comments (leather note can get strong for some of us) but I only felt it if I smelt it closer to my skin. Just a bit off from it and the floral/fruity notes are stronger and nice. Just happened to apply it over a layer of Halfeti hand cream and its sweetness elevated this a little more and toned the leather down, making it quite lovely for me. So I'll probably layer it with Halfeti from time to time.

OOOhh this may be my summer go-to. Fresh citrus dancing over osmanthus, rose, and magnolia...drying down to a leathery incense base is absolutely and utterly fantastic. This scent is fresh and citrusy to be considered inoffensive enough for a daily perfume but the leather, rose and georgywood still have a bite for those of us who like complexity. This is a definite keeper.

Love how this perfume smells in the first stages, a juicy apricot, lush magnolia and some greenness also; but then it evolves into a scent that has a bit of a sweaty note that reminds me of cumin; could be sexy but I'm personally not fan of cumin. Still... the apricot and osmanthus in this is so lovely and bright.

Pretty, nothings special unfortunately and it lasts for a whisper of a moment. Not worth the money. Dissapointed as the notes are gorgeous and blended beautifully.

It's got that Quentin Bisch vibe, definitely flowery and leans feminine on opening. Then the leather starts to come through which is glorious!

Fruity shampoo on tester paper. Don’t get the dislikes lol. Need to try it on my skin because it smells so good.

Slightly troubled by the execution of this perfume. There's definitely a good kernel of an idea here, like I said I think the execution is lacking in subtlety and nuance to say the least. A fruity musk with I can smell Osmanthus, something I'm increasingly more attracted to these days. I can smell fruity accords which are potent and somewhat appealing from a grapefruit/melon (that fruit that is basically a mix of the two, name escapes me...ahhhh Pomelo!!!! that's it!) top to a more enduring 'tropical' fruit accord which is pleasant for about ten seconds then starts to get on your tits, thereafter. There's much less 'air' and that dry, geraniol effect you get in more faithful interpretations of Osmanthus, this is a bit of a syrup, concentrate, sledgehammer which does not do the kinda peach inflected scent any good whatsoever. What's interesting is that I do get a very small hint of a woody accord right from the opening then throughout I was getting phantom wafts of an oud rose perfume accord and sure enough it's listed here in the notes, (well rose and leather) I can't work out whether that's very restrained and clever of the perfumer/development brief, or just a little bit wishy washy and flimsy? It's a fine line not even my arbitration skills can decipher. As far as the ambroxan is concerned, I think Vra Vra Vroom a pretty good use of the material, goes well with osmanthus and any fruity musk stuff if you ask me. I've used Ambrofix quite a bit and although I migrated towards Ambrox super, I still think it's decent. I'm wearing this today and can't help the way I feel, I don't really like it, I don't want to ever wear it again but I'm being prevented from slagging it off because there's enough to think and type about that I can't hate the perfume, it's weirdly appealing in some sense. I did initially note when I wore it on my arm that it was extremely fleeting to the point I'd be pissed off if I paid top dollar for it, well that's not been the case today, it really does cling to clothes and hair, which give it reasonable staying power, but not many fragrances DON'T last on clothes so it's hardly a ringing endorsement, and my skin ate it all up in rapid quick time, something to be aware of.

Vra Vra Vroom... where shall I begin? It starts off light, almost playful—a breeze of fresh peach, a flirtation with osmanthus, soft and sweet, like the first rays of sunlight teasing a cool morning. There’s something almost refreshing about it, a burst of air that whispers “good morning” in your face. But as you're drawn closer, the air starts to draw heavier. The peach, once crisp and bright, begins to thicken, to suffocate the lightness. The osmanthus, which was supposed to dance, now hangs, sticky and humid, clinging to your skin in a way that feels almost too much. It doesn’t feel like a breeze anymore, but like walking through the thickest part of a summer afternoon—sweaty, damp, oppressive. Like a fleeting summer that starts with promise but ends in a sweat-drenched haze. It’s there, but not in the way I hoped, left stuck with the heaviness of its drydown. Vra vra vroom, a fragrance that, way too soon, sees its doom.

Vra vra vroom is the perfect fragrance if you like apricots cause it’s all i smell. There is some osmanthus and later the smallest bit of leather that acts more as something to give it a little bit more depth. I feel like this scent profile does exist and gives me some nostalgia to y2k floral scents as i sworn i probably smelled something like this in my youth. Nevertheless i think it’s well blended and perfect for spring and summer. I get around 6 hours on my skin with a moderate silage

Not my favorite from this line. I agree with the below review that mentions the blast of an unpleasant cumin-like note at the beginning. I believe this is the leather accord that smells rough and not blended well. It then becomes sort of generically fruity/floral and disappears quite quickly.

I agree with the "shampoo" smell comparison. It's actually a very light freshy. I was surprised how light it was. Like a light spring scent. Interesting scent profile, but too weak for me to justify the price point.

All I can smell is apricot. It is nice but fades in an hour from my skin. Not happy with the performance with such high price tag

In the movie This Is Spinal Tap, one of the band's albums was reviewed with just two words: “Shit sandwich.” Well, if that album was a shit sandwich, then Vra Vra Vroom is a stink sandwich: gorgeous top, gross middle, unexpectedly sexy drydown. The Opening: Apricot-rose jam with a citrus twist. 🍑 Decadent, ripe, slightly sour, and just this side of filthy — like someone slathered jam across your cleavage in the heat and called it foreplay. Osmanthus adds that fermented fruit vibe. Bergamot and mandarin keep it sharp, with that bright lemony flick. Not clean. Not innocent. Summer-sticky, jammy, and borderline indecent. The Middle: Here’s where it goes off the rails. Some compare it to cumin. I call it post-coital leather — warm, worn, a little too human. Pretty sure this is the guilty mix: fruity florals, clary sage, AmbrofixTM, leather — all stewing into sweaty skin funk. Synthetic wood (Georgywood) steps in to tidy the mess — like a fresh wet wipe at an orgy. Too clean, too late. The whole clash is chaotic and bodily. The Drydown: And just when you’re about to write it off, bam, it pivots. The leather melts into suede. The fruit fades into a warm glow. It gets skin-intimate, magnetic, and so very come-closer. Totally carnal. Deeply attractive. From “wtf was that?” to “yes, again... slower this time.” To the “shampoo” crew: What kind of shampoo are y’all using? This is fermented, funky, fruity, and flesh-adjacent — not your breezy lemon rinse. Fling poop all day — those shampoo comparisons are still completely off-base. Just because it opens with citrus/fruit doesn’t mean it’s clean. You folks really out here confusing body heat with personal hygiene. Final Call: I love a little filth in my fragrance. And this one has it. But I don’t love this filth. On the blotter: art. On my skin: awkward. Said it would purr and vra vra vroom me — instead, it broke down somewhere between hot and heinous. If it were fresher, less jammy, and skipped that sweaty middle act, maybe I’d even give it the time of day. But smelling like apricot jam isn’t my jam anyway, so it’s a pass. The Potions & Remedies line? 🧙 Witchy bottles, dope packaging, but no spell hits. The collection feels disunited and directionless, like a concept half-cooked. What are the scents? Mood-alterers? State-shifters? Vibe alchemy? No clue. At least they’ve dropped it in 50 ml now, so you can dip a toe before selling your soul. 🍑💦🥵 3/5. If you want to smell like apricot jam fermenting on a sweaty-leather seat in July, be my guest. Go vroom. But “invigorating,” “refreshing,” “revitalising,” Penhaligon’s? My dear sirs, behave.

At least the bottles are pretty for the Potions range. This is fruity but I didn't get apricot at all. It opens very magnolia-forward on me. Fresh, sweet, white, floral. Then the fruitiness comes in - very juicy, fresh but still white, like grape juice. Sort of nostalgic. At 30 minutes it was the same but getting a little more sugary. At an hour it was the same sweet grape juice smell but developing an unnerving background stale element - was this the leather? I didn't overtly get leather at all from this though. It smells a bit sticky somehow, as if I'd spilled a drink on myself. At 2 hours it was the same white fruity floral with a sticky undertone, just fainter and a bit pissy. By 3 hours it had disappeared. Lasted longer on fabric but ultimately gained the same weird, toiletty undertone. Not one for me.

Of all the Potions & Remedies collection this is my least favorite. The notes listed are beautiful and at first it was a lovely fresh spring floral but then the janky body odor cumin stink crept in. This is not my thing. It’s a subtle stink in the dry down that doesn’t go away. I know some people like this but to me it ruins what could be a really nice perfume.

This one smells like Body odor on me. I've tried it many times and I can't get over this smell. It carries into the mid of the fragrance. I've read many reviews of this being fruity and light however alI get is a earthy smell that smells like B.O.

on me it smells like a latex/rubber hospital cleaner type of scent. headache inducing. would not leave my wrist after several makeup and alcohol wipes, so I guess the staying power is good.

Couple of sprays and could barely smell it was there. It smells like the notes present seem to have cancelled each other out. So bizarre.

immediate thought was that i’d want this as a shower gel. smells overwhelmingly like a bath product

this smelled 100% like body odor to me, I couldn't detect any of the other notes (which sound lovely) through that BO opening. I suspect it's the osmanthus which I already know is a divisive note for me in fragrance, since it usually comes off as sweaty

better to have it as a shampoo has a bad chemistru with my skin too fruity but artificial sweetness

I'm completely baffled as to how people compare some of the fresh Spring perfumes from this line to Baccarat Rouge. This one is a fruity perfume that shares no notes whatsoever with BR540 and isn't even in the same scent profile/DNA. If it doesn't have saffron you are making the wrong comparison. This is a fruity aromatic, but I wouldn't describe it as generic because the osmanthus and sage offer a nice herbal-floral touch and a certain sparkling effervescent quality. And apricot is not a commonly used fruit note in perfume. I didn't notice the slight leather note at first but it offers an element of sophistication since I usually don't like it in higher doses. The longevity on this perfume isn't great, probably 2 hours at most, but I do not mind re-applying and I've barely used up my 100 ml over 1 year. This is the closest thing I have to a signature scent (I have about 20). Overall, it's a very pretty perfume and one that I'm enjoying wearing now the weather is summery. Perfume Parlour came out with a dupe so I will be getting that after I use up my 100 ml bottle although it will take me awhile to get there.

I smelled this on a blotter and was blown away and bought it immediately. I sprayed it once on my skin and was repulsed by something weird in the formula that made my skin smell like cumin or taco seasoning. I was able to deduce it down to the leather note. It’s not blended well. But I gave it a chance. The cumin/taco/leather note dries down to an indescribably addicting skin scent. I went nose blind to it after about 30 minutes and the fragrance really bloomed after an hour. I kept being able to smell myself for many hours after that. This is also an attention grabber. I’ve never been one to receive compliments or have people go out of their way to follow my scent trail. But this fragrance takes the number one spot in my rotation. After wearing it for just one day I was complimented by EVERY SINGLE person who I had a conversation with and even passing strangers. I didn’t believe it was possible but please take my word for it.

I bought this in “England” at Epcot and had the bottle engraved - a first in my collection, and very fun and sweet and indulgent. It was my favorite of all the Penhaligon’s scents. I love that it’s bright and cheerful but with a grounded warmth. I don’t typically like heavy leather scents and honestly this is a soft version of leather that just rounds out the aldehydic citrus and florals. I’m sometimes sensitive to perfume and this does NOT give me headaches. I saw a YouTube review that called the dry down “almost animalic” on skin which I don’t experience. That said, I’m comfortable with the power vibes of something that leans that way. Anyway - I ADORE this scent and think it needs more unreservedly positive reviews here. I think I’ll keep it on my bed stand for now and maybe take it to work in a couple weeks for an afternoon boost.

The initial opening is a semi-sweet fruity scent with some citrus blended in. 15 Min - The scent is still quite sweet with undertones of floral notes. 30 Min - I am definitely getting the floral notes along with an undertone of fruityness. 60 Min - I am stil getting a very nice floral scent but it is changing from a Rose note to a white floral note. Dry Down: The dry down of this fragrance is a white floral semi-sweet scent with tones of Leather and Woods. Performance: Projection of this fragrance is Fair with the frangrance creating a scent bubble of about 18 inches for about 90 minutes. The sillage is also Fair with a scent trail of about 2 feet for about 90 minutes. Longevity is fair with the fragrance lasting on my skin about 4 to 5 hours, but becoming a skin scent at about 2.5 hours.

Sweet floral wood under pollen and flower. Starts sharp with the citruses, reminding me of black currant, but that lingers only as a tart fruit note, as sweet resinous bits come in. For the middle life, I get a skin scent oddly balanced between extremes of warm woody resins, and high bright tart fruity florals, with an empty gap in the middle. Then I get a Liddle Kiddle baby doll yellow feel, and it ends up as 100% Apricot Jam at the end of the day. Interesting journey, overall pleasant and easy to wear with enough morphing to keep it interesting. I like it but I don’t need more.

This is gorgeous and doesn't smell like any other Penhaligon's offerings. The fruity and sparkling apricot note stands out and blends well with the magnolia and sage which make it aromatic. And it is slightly soapy. Longevity is moderate on me, but can be lengthened by layering with oud or vanilla fragrances or lotion. I wore this on the afternoon I visited the top-rated spa in the UK and this carries therapeutic and relaxing memories for me.

I rarely ever review a perfume as awful. I usually try to keep in mind that perfume reviews are subjective. However, this perfume was offensive from the initial spray. I have no idea what came through but it smelled like Cumin spice. It was just bad. The entire Potions sampler other than Liquid Love was less than impressive. I’m glad I tried the sampler for the price point of their scents. This one however, was the worst. Do not blind buy.

Dont be fooled by the intimidating base notes , this is very fresh and airy morning fruity floral scent with no obvious leather or woods, , instead the the juicy stone fruits and floral notes are floating around you in a very uplifting aroma .. however , i had to give this away to mom as the magnolia started to intensify after a while .. and its one of my least fav flowers in perfumes, if u dont mind it then give it a try

I used to love this perfume and considered it my signature scent up until a year ago. Then my nose became 2-3x more sensitive and now the musk in this seems harsh and screechy, very shrill. The leather undertone also makes my a bit nauseous too, since it's a note I'm sensitive to. I've sold off 15 of my Penhaligon's bottles including this one and don't own any more Potions.

I like this, it's fresh and fruity and well balanced, but for me it doesn't last any time at all - I could barely tell I was wearing anything by the time I got into the office having spritzed it just before I left half an hour before. to me it's not jammy or cloying at all, it's fresh and bright, just weak af.

Did the discovery kit. This one is citrusy rose. The apricut gives it a sweetness. It’s nice. If I smelled this is a crowded room I would look for a a fashionable looking. Young person, Male or female. If male - kind of edgy, daring. Female a young woman mature for her age.

This fragrance is very nice, uplifting, and pleasant to wear. It smells like the lobby of a beach hotel we’ve frequented over the years and always brings in those summer memories. The fruits and florals are blended perfectly and it’s a joy to put this one on. 8.6/10

it smells like if pacific chill had an older sister. Instead of the minty green notes that pacific chill has, vra vra vroom replaces it with a floral note making it feminine. Beautiful scent have to pick it up soon.

a lovely clean powdery orange osmanthus musk scent, it’s fresh, dewy, and easygoing. smells a lot like laundry soaked in tangerine scented detergent that hasn’t been dried yet, and i love that!
