on my skin- pinetrees, wet wood, vodka. the mint is cooling but not particularly "minty" on me.

I’m continually fascinated by how differently a fragrance can express itself on a paper blotter vs. the skin. Definitely a lesson in testing scents IRL — I often skip the paper strips altogether. Last Word, on paper, is a cooling cucumber laced with mint. Almost like a leveled up version of Bath & Body Works’s Cucumber Melon from the 90s. But on the skin, I think I’m getting galbanum (?) the most. (With these less common notes, I’m always a little hesitant to identify. Can’t really run out to the garden and smell galbanum for reference lol.) It’s been a while, but I know Regimes des Fleur’s Rock River Melody is galbanum-heavy and I do sense that note here as well. However, RRM is way smokier, heavier, and more MasculineTM️. Paired with musky Angelica root, Last Word softens and sweetens the galbanum in a different direction. It’s...dare I say, almost figgy? I don’t know how, but I’ve tried it twice and both times it does take on a sweet creaminess. It’s quite nice and a lovely gentle green scent that isn’t “bracing” like other vegetal scents can be. I feel like this scent would’ve been perfect bottled as Sycophant from the summer collection.
