Cologne

My current favorite clean, fresh out of the shower scent for summer. It has a great, bright lemon note that sticks around for a good hour. Smells classy. I’ve been wearing this often along with Frankincense and Charcoal and the three share an addictive organic-smelling freshness and zing. It makes my mouth water and I kind of want to drink the stuff. Perfumer H, like Miller Harris before it, is a great place to look for classical cologne structures made unique, each with different theme and ingredient. Very natural, and good quality. I know there are also Oriental, Fougere, Floral and Chypre style dotted throughout the repertoire among others, but these bright Perfumer H tonics are all wonderful. If I remember correctly, every summer and winter she releases a citrus, a green/fern, a floral, an oriental and a wood and then the favorites of these are moved, still available for purchase, to the archives. They are unfortunately pricey and a bit difficult to sample or obtain outside of the London shop, but you can save a little by purchasing the amber refill bottle with travel sprays. And you can request a catalogue via email if you have the courage to blind buy. The premium bottles, however, are among the most beautiful and timeless perfume vessels on offer anywhere today. So maybe go there with the intent to splurge.

I have the hand wash & I love it so I figured this was a safe blind buy. At first I was liking the samples I received of Lemon Tree & Petitgrain better. I guess there’s validity to letting a scent rest because the very next day it smelled like the scent I enjoy-citrus, mint & a little vetiver (not too much thankfully!). It’s quite nice. I enjoy the Lemon Tree & Petitgrain too & I need to try Bergamot. Update 3/2024~Looks like it’s discontinued, at least for now. Not on the website. ☹️

Tart Bergamot, then lots of what I believe is Tarragon; I also get some Galbanum. Late dry down smells (almost) like burned/smokey sage. Not sure if I like this one. A pass.
