Eau de Parfum Tea Rose

I’ve been trying the EDP version of Tea Rose for a few days now so I feel like I can write a proper review of it. Please note that the results are only on my skin as I have not smelled this on any one else yet. Without looking at the notes pyramid, I’d say this is a rather linear creation. From the moment it hits my skin, I get green-tinged roses. There are no herbal tones and no other floral notes. The rose I smell the most is, true to its name, the tea rose. There’s a hint of sweetness that rose naturally projects so, thankfully, the perfumers added no sugary notes to this juice. The base reveals a hint of warm musk. The notes pyramid doesn’t list it but I still get this “warm skin” smell. I get none of the cedar or the violet leaf notes. I’ve recently done a side-by-side comparison of the PWS Tea Rose EDT with this version... EDT: Lasts around 12 hours. From top to bottom, this is a rose with fresh-cut stems. Projects to high heaven. EDP: Lasts 12+ hours. I mean, it lasts and lasts and lasts!! This is a green rose, however the fresh-cut stems in the original EDT are toned down about 20% here. Consequently, the vibrant, sharp edges in the EDT version are also a bit more rounded. The musk note at the end warms up the composition and anchors it to my skin better than the EDT version. Projection is about 20% more than the EDT version. One last thing: In the EDT, especially towards the very end, I only get green notes. The rose is almost completely gone. In this version, the rose is a rose all the way to the end. Yes, it’s linear. But I kind of prefer it that way. :) Some of the comments I’ve received about this fragrance... “You smell like some kind of rose. Exactly like a rose petal!” “What is that you’re wearing? It’s not perfume-y. It’s very fresh and pure. Is it some kind of rose oil? It’s so realistic!” I agree with the comments too. This perfume is a very lifelike representation of the Queen of Flowers. Snap this one up folks. I recommend this timeless classic for both genders and all ages. At these attractive prices, no perfume wardrobe should be without it.

EAST Meets WEST. Fluffy, Velvety, Whipped-Rose Classic.... Opens with a burst of rose that's a blend of roses and peony with citrus, velvety and green nuances. As it develops it takes on powdery, whipped, velvety, peppery and fresh facets, resting on a soft cedar base that becomes root-y & earthy as it dries down. In the drydown, the rose blooms, taking on a fluffy, whipped & velvety quality. The rose here is a blend of a vintage-y tea-rose, peony and a what reads like a MiddleEastern leaning taif-rose. Seekers and collectors of rose scents will not be disappointed. Overall: Beautiful rose scent with well above average performance, this is the perfect scent to wear while bridging distances. It's a love for me. 10/10 for a rose scent. Enjoy! Contrast to Tea Rose EDT Perfumers' Workshop: The EDP version smells very similar to Tea Rose EDT, but side by side, you can tell there's a peony & Taif rose in the EDP, taking on more of a whipped-velvety quality compared with the more powdery-velvety EDT version. The EDP is my preferred version due to the fluffy & whipped quality, although I have enjoyed combining them - one to each wrist. Both have excellent performance. Update 03/27/25: Sprayed this on today. It's gotten a lot sweeter and the chamomile has come more forward. Although it's gotten sweeter, it hasn't gotten jammy (neither has the EDT), but it's sweetness is more of a rose-syrup. Although I can smell the peony, it never overtakes the rose (as can sometimes be the case), which I'm grateful for. The EDP is less linear than the EDP, with the rose getting deeper over time. Love it still.

I hated it. I hated it some more. And then I bought it. I bought it not because all of a sudden I loved it, but rather out of respect for Her Majesty Rose. Usually when one thinks of a rose scent, all these associations of powdery raspberries, musky peonies or jammy ouds come to mind. I was expecting the same while hunting for a perfect rose fragrance. When I first smelled Tea Rose, she, the rose, smacked me in the face. I couldn't believe that this mustiness is Her real smell. I tried again and was hit hard again. Then I got back my senses and came to terms with the fact that a rose is not sugared raspberries. A rose is a rose and it has its scent that is pungent, musty, green and yet intoxicating. Tea Rose smells like a rose. A real rose – from petals to leaves and thorns and stems, to the rotting water and moldy refrigerator that the roses had been kept in. If you are looking for a real rose, not the fakeness of the overpowering traditional perfumery additives, and can get past the musty tanginess of this realness, try Tea Rose. I found that Tea Rose comes closest to Jo Malone's Red Roses. The latter is much more expensive and lasts longer. However, it has that honey or beeswax note that on me turns into urine stench and I end up smelling like a public lavatory that has just been cleaned with a rose-scented detergent. This was the main reason I went for the Tea Rose.

This smells like a freshly cut bouquet of roses! The rose here is a fresh, floral, and powdery rose, not an Oriental rose. Though the scent is linear, you get all the nuances of a freshly cut rose; The flower, stem, and leaves! There is even an earthy undertone that's very reminiscent of a real rose. The opening of this fragrance is very synthetic, like dish soap. Once it settles however, it becomes the lovely rose perfume masterpiece that it is. Very potent stuff, a powerful sillage, and certainly unique as far as rose perfumes go. Though this is a very nice clean floral fragrance, you must be a rose lover to fully appreciate it.

Fragrance net is selling testers for under $10. Figured I’d share the information. ☺️ This is one of those perfumes that has such a following that they don’t have to have it in the stores. It’s just absolutely beautiful. Very oily juice. Lasts for hours and I’m so glad my husband got it for me. Happy Mother’s Day! Side note; sometime ago I was looking for a layering fragrance to go with Aromatics Elixir by Clinique. I by mistake bough the EDT which was not quite refined enough for the AE. This however is beautiful and I can’t wait for the weather to be just right to test it out.

same strength as vintage EDT; smells the same far away but up close it is different with a more powdery note; reformulations make me sad; for someone who doesn't know what it should smell like this one would be amazing, strong, long lasting and a true green tea rose but for those who know better, it is not the same

I layer it with Colonia Essenza by Aqua di Parma It is very nice, fresh spicy citrus with rose, like rose in forest field, more unisex The scent is good and simple rose, just go easy on the sprayer and will be excellent for layering. Would suggest you spray the other layering fragrance more than this one

I love it so much!!! The divine Tea Rose EDT has me hooked, and the EDP version is harder to find but it doesn't disappoint me at all. And I have to say I'm fascinated by both. Red Roses, Red Roses, a forest of Red Roses... it's that simple. I will always wear Tea Rose throughout my life.

I spent many a summer in my grandmother's garden in England and this fragrance is exactly like inhaling a bright red tea rose. Lovely authentic David Austin red tea rose scent. I still purchase this as a staple, perfect scent for spring.

This is an ambitious perfume, but you know how sometimes ambition is not enough. I see it is a new perfume, perhaps a ri-edition of the 1977 in EdP. Well, EdT was strong enough. This one is a bit rounder and equally strong. I saw it on a shelf and just had to try it. I'm a sucker for rose perfumes and at the same time I'm never satisfied with them. Tea Rose makes no exception. It starts strong, very intense and keeps so for many hours. Big sillage in the first 2 hours, then it fades, but the scent stays the same and clings to my skin. It smells like rose, of course. Big, big, very perfumed rose, only it is not coherent. On initial spray I smelled a strong rose oil smell and I giggled. I love the smell of pure Bulgarian rose essential oil. Not usually a perfume in itself, but powerful and so relaxing. Then a giant synthetical, chemical, re-constructed rose sets in and break the dream. So which is wedding breaker? Damask or Tea? By the way, is not Damask and Bulgarian basically the same rose? Anyway this giant rose smells more like the lab made rose we all know from "essences", a little like rosey geranium. Chamomille is very faint, Violet leaf, where exactly? Yes, maybe a green tone that the super-kind SA told me it was due to "tea leaves" hence the name Tea Rose... ok. She was so sweet that I didn't dare to tell her that Tea Rose is a kind of rose. Maybe she's right and that greenish tone is a replacer for green tea/green leaves/green notes whatever. So in the end this Tea Rose is good, but not exactly convincing for me. Anyway if you are looking for a rosey perfume, you like it strong and need an affordable pricetag, this is quite your thing.

This is nothing like an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING Tea Rose EDP I had some years ago.....I wonder if anyone can help me find the one I had? It was called TEA ROSE EDP and was made by a company called RIVAL Paris. It was SO STRONG, smelling of REAL Tea Rose. I bought it when I worked in Abu Dhabi, in the Gulf. It was EXPENSIVE then, and friends used to bring me a small spray EDP back from Paris if they went there. It's smell was of true, FRESH roses, the devine smell you get from smelling a real rose close up. It dried down to a strong TURKISH DELIGHT smell (sounds awful - but it was beautiful). People used to actually stop me and ask me what perfume I was wearing. My partner LOVED this perfume - and his friends used to comment on how beautiful this perfume was. Some Tea Rose perfumes can have an "old lady" aroma, but this RIVAL Tea Rose had a beautiful, young smell. This Tea Rose one here is not in the same league...this is roses mixed with, well, whatever - and I cannot bring myself to like it. It did not last on me either. I have almost a full bottle left. I was so excited, thinking I had found a replacement for my RIVAL Tea Rose.... but no way does it come close to the RIVAL beauty. CAN ANYONE HELP ME to find the RIVAL Tea Rose - or what it has become? I cannot even find the company RIVAL in Paris, so they may have closed, but passed this wonderful perfume on? This company did an EDP the same strong quality of the Tea Rose in JASMIN - which was also a DREAM to wear - and smelt of true, fresh, young Jasmine flowers. I will watch on here to see if anyone responds - or you are most welcome to send me an email anytime.

I'm generally a fan of rose fragrances and had been hearing of this one for a long time, so I ordered a small bottle. It is exactly as others have described: a pure, natural, strong rose. I detect nothing else, just a blast of this gorgeous flower, ripe on the freshly cut stem. My nose and botanical knowledge are far too lacking to be able to distinguish between the different varieties of rose, but having smelled a LOT of bad, artificial rose in perfumery, I really appreciate the realistic simplicity of Tea Rose. Linear but lasting, one-dimensional but well executed. I don't know how often I'll be turning to this for everyday wear, but it is a mood-lifter. A moderate like from me.

I was actually a little disappointed with this one. I was hoping for a stronger, maybe a little more complex version of the EDT made by this company of the same name. What I got was YSL Paris on a budget with less complexity and a much shorter longevity than the EDT. Don't get me wrong, I love Paris but I get headaches from all Sophia Grojsman's works. Amazingly this thing replicates the headache too!

Sampling this today - applied an hour ago Full-on roses! Lovely. Good price. Projecting strongly. Update - now five and half hours since applying. Still roses, roses, roses. Still lovely. Now a delightful detect it on-the-skin. No staleness whatsoever. This is why we stop at a rose bush and sink our nose in - because it's just delicious.

Nice full bodied rose. A little heady. Looking at the notes I can tell that it's a blend of different rose varieties and do get a bit of peony. Not much green notes. The longevity seems solid. Six hours so far and still going strong. Mostly linear and rosey.

Blindbought this because I love challenge but ended up regretting my decision. The reviews are right, this is a pure red rose in full bloom, that even smells more rosey than the actual roses themselves. It punches you HARD right on your face. I used 3 sprays of this while I was praying in a mosque in the evening. The man next to me got choked and immediately ran away. That shows how powerful and intense this fragrance is. Maybe I can still still spray this in my room just to appreciate the artistry factor because this is a classic and deserves a respect, but other than that—no. Will never use this to go out again. Scent: 6 Projection: 10 Longevity: 10 Insanity: 10 People will give you your very own personal space when you wear this, trus me, it works.

Smells like laying in a bed of fresh rose petals. This is more of a time capsule fragrance in my opinion, a very 1970s - 1980s scent. Very feminine in the traditional perfume sense (strong, organic florals). A prominent rose opening complimented by leafy greens - like being in a rose garden. Not my cup of tea but I appreciate the composition.

Similar to the EDT but greener, stronger and much longer-lasting. I can still smell it lingering after twelve hours and it doesn't smell as realistic to me as the EDT, which is much less expensive as well.

I went the whole summer itching for a fresh rose fragrance. So when I ran across this on sale I figured it would be silly not to try it before the weather gets too much cooler. So I just blind-bought this to try it out. If nothing else, I expected a simple soliflore that I could wear as a casual skin scent once in a while. Sadly though, this one doesn’t fit the bill. With two sprays, I was overwhelmed by a strong, concentrated rose water scent, like what you’d smell at an antique store filled with old books and second-hand decants. A garden rose smell can be very pleasant, but with this, the effect on my wrist was sharp and musty, and two sprays had my head aching shortly after I sprayed. To be fair, I love that antique rose smell, but it’s not what I want my pulse points to smell like all day long, and the fragrance is so linear that there’s no escaping that opening – a super-strong blast of garden tea roses and wood, which never evolves or develops with anything warm or sweet. I admit I wasn’t really expecting true-love-rose. And for this price and the reviews I already saw here, I knew to keep my expectations grounded. Rose scented perfumes are tricky, and require a delicate hand to blend into truly wearable scents. And tea roses in particular are a BIG hit or miss for me, in terms of notes. But here my skin just wouldn’t wear it, and I was happy to wash it off after a couple hours. Now, I don’t like wearing this fragrance, but I DO like smelling light whiffs of it in my living room. I’ve found that a single spray works marvelously as a room spray, and it could be useful for making scent pouches, too. So it won’t be going to waste.

I was really intrigued at this but held off because, honestly, it's ten times more expensive than the EDT but unlikely to be ten times better. Still: I've always preferred the rounder EDP concentrations and this is no exception. Though it is definitely not ten times better than the EDT, if you like a big rose note, you'll probably prefer the EDP. My nose doesn't get as overwhelmed with this one compared to the ETD. Parfum Tea Rose is a fuller, slightly less chilly scent than the EDT. You definitely get that florist's fridge coldness and the ozonic/watery facets of a cultivated red rose first, but you also get a hints of more warm rose headiness and herbal aspects, which I find really appealing. It's like a less expensive and more potent version of Jo Malone's Red Rose except less citrus, more cool herbal water.

After reading so many reviews of the EDT and then recently reading of the new EDP I had to try it. Nothing terribly complex or sophisticated, just a very straightforward, fresh, green rose scent. Actually kind of a jaw-dropping value. A whopping 4 ounces for as low as $8.69 on Amazon. I have endless rose fragrances and this compares favorably to Jo Malone Red Roses, Paul Smith Rose, Diptyque Eau de Rose, for a tiny fraction of the price. Fairly linear and astonishingly strong. One spray should do it, and this coming from someone who is usually a very heavy doser. I sprayed one spray in the air in my living room last night and it was still quite present when I came home from work tonight, 27 hours later. I have no idea how they manage to sell it so inexpensively. Awesome value!

Uh, yeah, big fat NOPE from me. I generally like rose perfumes but this is too much. The green rose just freakin' punches you right in the face, it's WAY, WAY, WAY too loud for my taste. It's like old fashioned rose scented hand soap (it's that type of a rose smell but not actually soapy) was reincarnated as a heavyweight boxer. So, if you're looking for a rose fragrance that will beat you over the head, beat you bloody and then go on to knock out anyone within a foot of you for hours on end...stop looking, this is the one for you.

This is a beautifully linear rose scent but the trick to this one is layering. I layer the Rose with a vanilla oil (vintage Kiehl or Bigelow Pharmacy or a vanilla attar) and green tea scent (usually Elizabeth Arden). The combination of the distinct rose sweetness (with some greens), the warmth of the vanilla and the sweet, slight tang of green tea make this my most 'WHAT are you wearing?" fragrance.

This perfume is strictly for rose lovers only!!! 🌹! It is a strong strong rose that will choke u out! It’s a beautiful scent to me but I would only spray one to two sprays max with this or it can be too cloying! This is very similar to the EDT but this one is more stronger punching scent per spray.

Smells like the edt but less potent and slightly less green. I think this one is better as smells less synthetic than the edt version.
