Yuma

Wearing this for the fourth time, and it's right in the middle of a very hot day. It's not very redundant to anything else in the "reminds me of" section, as the "spearmint gum" accord is the main star of the show, and the citrus/ginger combo chills in the back. Yuma, just as Anelo, has a powdery musky base similar to the one in Vibrato, but doesn't introduce itself with a blast of grapefruit . It also doesn't carry anything similar to the Jacques Cavallier irresistible ambroxan base found in many of his creations (Tygar included). I could write a few more paragraphs about how it differs from the each member of the Tygar extended family, but... ...back to Yuma. The mentholated aspect of the scent, the thickness of the blend in the air (that cashmeran really makes it cloudy) and the overall aromatic green presence unlocked an association to ?? LAYTON ?? (without the apple and vanilla). Which makes me think, the whole swiss mountain inspiration in the promo material was a valid choice. This makes for an amazing winter day scent! Layton is my favorite "snow day" fragrance and I have lots of incredible memories with it, this could be another one, but.... it has double the price I would pay for it. I can smell the high quality oils, but it's still too expensive for what it is, and has satisfying, but not incredible performance. It's also not from a brand that you can find on discounters, so, Yuma, gets my love but not my money.

I have got a sample directly from Pernoire, they were giving samples for free, and i had to try it. It's giving mountain freshness vibes, mint and little bit of bergamot are loud at first, and then it transforms into a masculine, confident smell, i think it reminds me of Sauvage, but for me, Sauvage is not a favourite parfume, while Yuma has something that makes me like it more than Sauvage, that freshness is something else. Very masculine and confident scent, although im not really sure what is the best season to wear it, it has that summer freshness in it, but at the same time, that crisp mountain air feel also. The price is a little bit higher, so thats only the downside of it. I have only sprayed it on my wrist to test it and it lasted a whole day, even after shower in the evening, I could still smell the hints of it the day after, will post in the future some updates on it Update: After wearing it the whole day from 6 am until 7pm when I took a shower, I could still smell it, although im not sure about the sillage, I think it was moderate after 4, 5 hours, after shower I could still smell it on me. Bergamot and edelweiss is the main note the whole time, musk is getting dominant in the drydown, while peppermint comes and goes the whole time, still after this I like this scent, and I think I'm going to buy a whole bottle after testing it, but im still not sure what is the best season to wear it

For me this is perfect. Mint is my favorite fresh note but is often a short lived note, this flips that notion on its head. The fragrance starts with the Edelweiss flower note that reminds me of L'Air Des Alpes Suisses, its short lived (30mins) and followed by a fresh spearmint note served on top of the ginger-citrus accord found the Tygar-esque fragrances. On my skin, the fresh mint and ginger -citrus notes oscillate for the next 6-8 hours before settling into a musky amber skin scent. This is a beautiful fresh-masculine scent that is perfect in the heat, but also at home in a more temperate setting. I think this is better than Anelo (I find it too sweet) and the best fragrance from Pernoire.

this fragrance opens very spicy, but as it drys down u get more of that green tea freshness. i love this scent it got me a few compliments by randoms. is it blind buy safe? no, as it tends to lend more masculine in my opinion and for the price theres decently better options. dont overspray unless you want to gas out a room. kinda reminds me of tygar extrait with that same vibe. 8.2/10 also this is 100% not a winter cologne, its summer. the dude below me is crazy, the so called "leather" (there is no leather scent in here, closest is musk) note dissipates into a nice fresh tea scent. obviously something is wrong with his nose.

I don't know why people compare this with Tygar, this is more similar to Torino21 (maybe Sauvage) than Tygar, Tygar is more citrusy, gingery and musky smell, more serious, for like some date or a meeting, while Yuma is more outgoing and relaxing, even thou the ginger is listed in the notes, its not really strong, barely noticeable, I'm writing this because I own all of those scents , besides Sauvage)

It's trying something that it's not. 240€ per 50ml is the goto pricetag for something that probably comes right out of Firmenich. Sad. Nice bottle thou. Very meh. No Swiss alps. Nico Mannino and Robin Dünner are trying hard. But not hard enough.

The dry down is extremely similar to Anelo but it’s just that with added mint so it’s a win for me but I won’t be getting as it feels too redundant to own this and Anelo

It's okay, nothing really special and the longevity isn't as good as i was hoping for. 6.5/10

I recently got my nose on Yuma from Pernoire and this one honestly surprised me in a pretty interesting way. It sits firmly in that Tygar / Sospiro Vibrato style DNA... fresh, slightly spicy, musky... but it takes a noticeably different direction compared to most fragrances in that lane. Right off the top, the most dominant thing for me is the mint. But it’s not that sharp, spearmint type of smell... this leans much more toward a peppermint oil / peppermint candy kind of vibe. It’s cooler, sharper, and slightly more medicinal, but not in a bad way. It gives the fragrance a really crisp, refreshing opening without coming across sugary or playful. It actually is a bit of a darker vibe to me. Dont get me wrong, there is a subtle sweetness there, but it’s muted. It’s not a sweet fragrance in the traditional sense... more like the natural sweetness you’d get from peppermint candy without the sugar overload. It keeps everything feeling softly refreshing and controlled. Underneath that, the ginger is definitely present, but it’s not loud or overly fresh/spicy like it can be in something like Vibrato. It acts more like a support, almost like a base layer that the mint is sitting on top of. It helps give the fragrance structure without pulling focus. I can also smell some of the Anelo DNA creeping through in this one. There’s also a soft floral presence early on, which I’m assuming is the edelweiss. It adds a slightly airy, almost “cool breeze” feeling, but it also ties into that faint medicinal edge that runs through the fragrance. It’s subtle, but it’s part of what gives this scent its character. As it starts to dry down, the florals fade back and things simplify a bit. You’re left with that lingering peppermint, a softer version of that ginger-driven Tygar style backbone, and a base that’s very blended. Nothing in the base really jumps out individually... it all kind of melts together into a smooth, slightly musky, slightly woody background. The peppermint sticking around into the drydown is actually one of the more unique aspects of this fragrance, but I could see some people wanting a bit more development over time. Performance for me was decent, but not amazing. It projects well for about the first hour, then settles into more of a 1–2 foot scent bubble for a few hours before getting closer to the skin. For an extrait at $290 for 50ml, I was expecting a bit more in terms of longevity and projection. That’s kind of where I land on this one overall. I do think it’s well done. It’s smooth, unique, and the peppermint twist genuinely sets it apart in a DNA that’s getting pretty crowded. But at the same time, if you’re specifically after this style, something like Vibrato gives you a brighter, more energetic version with better performance at a much lower price. Yuma feels more toned down, slightly darker, and a bit more niche... but I’m not sure that tradeoff is worth the price for most people. Still glad I tried it and I want to try more from Pernoire. I have Anelo and it's one of my favorite fragrances. 7.8/10

Emporio Armani City Glam for Him was my first fragrance, bought for me by my gracious mom a long time ago around the 2000s. It had mint, citrus, ginger, woody notes, and a calm green vetiver finish. It was not strong at all, and that was the only problem because I really loved the scent. It was discontinued a long time ago, and I never found something truly similar to it, even though it was quite simplistic. That type of scent and performance probably would not work in today’s fragrance market and consumer mindset/expectations. Yuma made me remember City Glam. It feels like a 2026 extrait version of it. Of course, they are not exactly the same, and there is no direct comparison even possible for sure, but the vibe and feeling are somewhere around that alley. So I found my sentimental excuse to love Yuma. From a modern point of view, it feels like a combination of Torino 21 and the Tygar/Vibrato DNA, or to oversimplify, like the minty flanker of Anelo. Nothing unique but as also in Anelo it's very well done. Performance is not bad for a fresh fragrance, but not that great either. Overall, it is very high quality, smooth, and natural-feeling fragrance. The premium aspect shows itself more in the materials than in the scent profile or performance mechanics. The problem is the price. I would wear 10 sprays of it in the morning and refresh it in the afternoon, but that is not sustainable unless you are from Pernoire’s own rich country of Switzerland :)

Yuma was a pleasant surprise at first spray, but the more I wore it the more familiar it started to feel. Right away the fragrance reminded me of the modern citrus-amber style popularized by Bvlgari Tygar and fragrances inspired by it, such as Sospiro Vibrato. The opening is bright, sparkling, and clean with that signature combination of vibrant citrus and smooth woody ambers. It’s undeniably attractive and very easy to like. The citrus feels fresh and energetic while the woody base keeps everything polished and refined. The fragrance has a very smooth and modern character that would work well in many situations. The problem for me is that it doesn’t really bring anything new to the table. Since I already own Vibrato, Yuma ends up feeling a bit redundant in my collection. The overall scent profile sits very much in that same territory—bright citrus opening followed by a clean, woody-amber drydown. That said, there is nothing wrong with the fragrance itself. If someone doesn’t already own Tygar, Vibrato, or something in that style, Yuma would be a very enjoyable and versatile scent. For my personal collection, however, it simply overlaps too much with Vibrato to justify adding another bottle. Scent: 7/10 | Longevity: 7.5/10 | Projection: 7/10 | Overall: 7/10

So I've had a couple of full wears out of this but it's never going to progress passed a tester, it's just too much money for what it is. I've never smelt Tygar so don't know about that comparison but do own Vibrato- sorry the only DNA i get is that they are both fragrances but nothing a like! To me Torino 21 & Pacific Chill are closest & IMO both are better & a lot cheaper to boot! You'll get a 50 of T21 for around £100 & PC is £260 but that's for a 100ml. I like the first hour of this but either I go nose blind after that or the Mint disappears & you are left with a fairly decent dry down but one that is too similar to others.

So only an initial test but wanted to put my thoughts down now then will update after a full wear. If you don't like Mint then steer clear! It is very Minty mouthwash/shower gel from that initial hit, all peppermint but not in a bad way. I full expected to love this & be looking for a FB,instead of Pacific Chill, sadly at the moment it's only a like & IMO both T21 & PC are better. Once it dries down there's an underlying sweetness that reminds me of Sospiro's Liberto. I'll update on more thought after a full wear but at £240 for 50ml it's got a ways to go.

It's fresh. It's citrusy. It's slightly minty. It's quite powdery and you can smell ginger. I don't think it can offend anyone and is very likable. Having said that, I had much higher hopes after Anelo. I can see why some people find it slightly similar to Tygar - perhaps the citrus and ginger do the trick. If I didn't have similar fragrances, I would consider getting this one but it is hard for me to justify doing that considering the price for 50ml. I do like it though and it smells very nice!

Distinctly minty in the opening which gives a slight mentholated Vick's vapo-rub, camphorous airway opening effect. I'll admit this doesn't sound good but it is unique and enjoyable. Combined with the yuzu the peppermint makes for an energising and enlivening scent. Not a citrus girl but this is well done.

I loved the first hour of this fragrance at first, but you have to wear it. After an hour, the dry-down is basically just musk with only a hint of mint, which is why others say this is similar to Anelo. I don't understand why so many good summer fragrances have so much musk, it just ruins it for me because after an hour they all smell the exact same. Otherwise I would have bought this after sampling along with Anelo which also has a strong musk base (even though they dont list it here).

This is not for the faint of heart. Yuma is dark, dusty, and unapologetically rugged. You get a massive blast of dry tobacco and raw leather right off the top. It smells like a cowboy’s jacket in a smoky saloon. Definitely not office-safe you will choke people out if you overspray. Strictly for cold weather and leather enthusiasts. I respect the artistry, but it takes a certain type of confidence to pull this off

It’s a nice minty opening. Almost like mint gum. Slightly sweet and not herbaceous. Then drys down to basically a mint tea. Fresh and light.

It’s a weaker, softer version of Bvlgari Tygar, not more, not less. :(
