Tubereuse Absolue Extrait

This is one that really needs to be worn together: EDP + Extrait is what makes it complete. I own quite a few tuberose fragrances, but these two are my personal favorites. They represent the most extreme and pure expression of tuberose. The EDP version is more transparent, with a stronger green character. The tuberose here feels like a newly opened flower, still carrying the rawness of stems and leaves, along with the floating sweetness of white florals and a faint coolness from lavender. The tuberose doesn’t appear immediately; instead, it slowly unfolds out of the green stems. It has structure and never feels cloying. What makes it special is that subtle green breath rising from deep within the bud, preserving the plant’s freshness and vitality. The Extrait version is fuller, with noticeably greater density and depth. The higher concentration doesn’t increase sweetness; it tightens the structure. It also begins with greenery, but very quickly the tuberose steps forward like a solo singer entering the stage, revealing the moist, slightly raw character of a flower just beginning to bloom. Here the tuberose feels richer and more humid, like a full bouquet freshly cut, still carrying the sap and vitality of the plant. In the middle stage, woods and musk appear, giving the tuberose more weight and a more fleshy presence. If the EDP is like a bud opening in daylight, the Extrait feels like a flower fully blooming at night, almost reaching the point of over-ripeness, with the floral intensity pressing downward. I usually layer the two together. It feels like experiencing the entire life of a tuberose blossom, and the longevity becomes stronger as well. Tuberose can easily become overly powdery or vulgar if it’s not handled well. That’s a common problem in many tuberose perfumes. A well-crafted tuberose keeps the lush floral richness while preserving the living green quality of the flower itself. Perris Monte Carlo manages to do exactly that. For anyone looking for a realistic white floral while avoiding the trap of excessive sweetness or powderiness, these two are well worth trying. You realize that true beauty often lies in a bloom that cannot be held back.

Unrestrained, intoxicating tuberose absolute in all its glory: bubblegum, mushroom and grass cuttings. I would bathe in this if I could. It would make the greatest soap of all time. It reminds me of Jean-Claude Ellena's raw and dirty treatment of Jasmin de Pays for the same house. Tubéreuse Absolue Extrait is tuberose with its camphor intact and an intriguing, deep mushroom quality, the beautiful alto of tuberose taken to a soft, pure, hypnotic, fungal-floral space where it hovers, human-like close to the skin. The green alien core of the stem and the heavily indolic flower: fecund, vegetal, surprising. It really showcases as a soliflore but there is subtle support from chilly galbanum, cedar, orange blossom and jasmine sambac fleshing out the tuberose, with some of lavender and vetiver's aromatic lift in the background. I love the greener aspect of this perfume though it’s not as cold as Frédéric Malle Carnal Flower and more subtle than Serge Lutens Tubéreuse Criminelle — less spicy-soapy. It’s my favourite interpretation of tuberose. Sublime.

I agree that this is sits in the same category as Carnal Flower, it resembles the real tuberose. It's not sweet, it's intoxicating. However while Carnal Flower stays green throughout its life, and arguably louder than Tubereuse Absolue, I think Tubereuse Absolue is more mysterious, because in the dry down this perfume has a dark undertone, the cedar gives off a dark rubbery feeling, which makes this fragrance feels darker. I tested it side by side with carnal Flower, and while Carnal Flower is louder in terms of silage and performance, Tubereuse Absolue has a firmer body that keeps the whole composition together, albeit not as beastie as Carnal Flower. In therms of longevity, both are the same (Carnal Flower and Tubereuse Absolue Extrait).

An authentic, in-your-face tuberose. What makes this one different from others is it prominently features the stem, giving it a very green herbal undertone beneath the creamy white floral heart. It's mildly sweet, with tiny bits of fresh lavender and cardamom mixed in. The herbaceousness lends a sort of roughness that IMO makes this rather more unisex than most white floral scents. Strong projection for 3-5hr, longevity 12hr+. It meets the expectations of a true Extrait flanker. The scent profile remains more or less identical to the EDP, just a smidge richer and fuller in addition to improved performance.

I love it and I have it, but I'm a crazy tuberose lady. If you are not a crazy person then just buy Tuberosis...which is incredibly similar if not just an overall better composed fragrance. If you ARE a crazy person buy both; the dry down on this is more complex! In summary, buy Tuberosis~ If you like to maintain a dragon style hoard of well-composed expensive tuberose fragrances then ALSO buy this!

I've got about a dozen tuberose/tubereuse frags and this is the one I reach for the most. It's perfection.

I am kind of disappointed by the fragrance. I was imagining a creamy tuberose, but this is green and spicy meaty tuberose. I still like it but I wish this could lean more on milky creamy side. If you are into a raw/real tuberose, I would suggest FM Carnal Flower. If you are into a creamy/milky tuberose like me, I would suggest Calaj Lilyn.

A very “Carnal Flower” type of tuberose, with high concentration of tuberose natural extract: Sharp, vegetal, dazzling white, had a “raw” character.

Tubereuse Absolue Extrait by Perris Monte Carlo offers an alternative concentration to the Eau de Parfum (EDP) version. Personally, I prefer the EDP for its richer and more opulent qualities; the Extrait, with its slightly rawer interpretation of tuberose, aligns closely with the EDP, making them both excellent choices for tuberose enthusiasts.

Green magnolian raw tuberose. Quite raw to be specific but not tuberose than mix of white floral as it has magnolia, gardenia, THEN tuberose, jasmines, cedar, vetiver, cardamom, orange blossom, musk, mimosa, galbanum, lime and lavender lime musk mix. It's like a mix of milky tuberose, and raw tuberose in white floral plate. Fair.
