18 Intense

I gotta admit.. This is one of the far better offerings by Perry Ellis and I’m pleasantly surprised. Over the years I’ve bought quite a few bottles of Perry Ellis offerings , and always missed out on this one. I wasn’t part of the Fragrantica community like I am now, so I never knew that there was a way to review a scent before a purchase so I was a lot more picky when making purchases, now I am more free to make better purchases because of the wealth of information online. Fast forward to today. I was at a shoppers drug mart and seen this one being sold in the $19.99 isle. Upon reading the reviews this was compared to Issey Miyake so I purchased it without hesitation, and honestly, I’m glad I did and here’s why. In the opening you can really pick up the melons and a small amount of citrus, once the mid hits you can really pick up the wood. I’m not a huge fan of woody scents, and for a second I thought that I was going to be stuck with a woody scent, but then it changed again. This is a true pyramid cologne. You go on a journey between the opening and right to the end. One could argue that all colognes have pyramid, but if they’re not blended properly you won’t get to experience what you’re supposed to, a journey of layers. The dry down to my nose consists of the watermelon, musk, and the sea notes, think watery that has a saltiness to it with some cedar. Sometimes I get small whiffs that reminds me of a saltier, more bitter Acqua De Gio, but it’s far from a clone of that. This stands on its own, and in my opinion not a dupe of Issey Miyake like mentioned below. This is a solid enough cheapie that if you put another high designer name on the bottle the praise would be much higher. This is a solid 8/10 for me.

OH LAWD this stuff is strong. Last summer I applied one spray to each arm and it was so potent that it gave me the weirdest reaction.....heartburn! Folks, this summer my nose has changed. I don't know if I have the covids or what, but certain things smell slightly different, or not as potent as before. This stuff is still fucking BEAST MODE , but somehow more tolerable than last summer. This is L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme on STEROIDS. Perhaps this is how it originally smelled before being reformulated into lightly scented water. If you like Mr. Miyake's signature scent, then you need to seek out PE18 Intense immediately. You can find this for under $20. Just start off with a single spray because this stuff is NO JOKE. Also, the notes listed on the page here are absolutely incorrect. That's my public service announcement for the day. Carry on.

I picked up a gift set of this at the PE at the citadel outlet $26 for a 3.4 oz bottle, traveler, deodorant and aftershave. This is my 3rd buy from PE. PE 360 RED smells like Aqua Di Gio.PE by PE smells really good and on reviews say it smells like Blue De Channel, But I haven't smelled it so IDK. This right here smells like Issey Miyake. I sprayed this on my arm with a tester then walked to the perfume outlet and smelled the Issey, to me they smelled the same, with a more black peppery feel. Perry Ellis could be called a knock off king, but I aint complaining. All 3 have good longevity at an amazing price. I recommend checking out the 3 I got from PE and PE Cobalt for sure.

Great stuff! Not really like L’eau D’Issey, this is more aquatic, less woody, a little sweeter, cleaner, and more modern. This is what I’d imagine Dior doing if they did an lighter aquatic flanker to Sauvage, it’s the bergamot, lavender, ambergris/ambroxan in this that does it. This even has a spicyness that I pick up on, maybe from the rosemary or an unlisted pepper note. Either way this is a summer banger with good performance.

Very crisp citrus scent, with hints of aquatic notes and also some pepper. Very similar to the classic Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme. Projection and Longevity is about a 6 on a scale of 10, approximately 4 to 5 hrs on my skin. One of my wife's favorite.

This is a fantastic fragrance! It's citrus and slightly fruity but with a darker side to it with the lavender. It also has a spicy part like it has a black pepper note maybe. It smells masculine and fresh. I love it!

Wearing this now. It does open up a bit synthetic but it mellows out. 2 of my female coworkers love how fresh it smells. It smells exactly like Issey miyake but at a lower cost.

Fresh Melon, Spicy, a lil bit Aquatic and Sweet. Longevity 3-4Hours on my skin. Overall, smell is Good, but for Me this stuff's nothing special. 6,5 out of 10.

Very spicy and love it. The only issue is the longevity. It gives me around 4-6 hours only. 8/10

Being a big fan of L'eau d'issey, since it came out, I saw a Boise version on duty free and bought it (incredible wood made bottle, white cap). Now, my regular bottle still had some juice left, and was from like 6 years ago. I compared both, and the wood bottle juice is less intense than my old juice and not at long lasting. Maybe is the wooden bottle, or maybe all of them are like that now, after some reformulation.....watered down basically. 18 intense is 90% exactly like that juice of Boise. It is a little more pungent at the top, but after a few minutes, the florals come out, and they are basically the same. Base...the same woody feel. My girlfriend loves L'eau on me, and she always tells me, they smell exactly the same to her. Conclusion, if you really like L'eau, and accept a more pungent top (a few minutes, that is all), then go for this one, you can get a whole set, including a 3.4, a travel mini, deodorant and shower gel....for $25 to $30 easily. Approved.

Just got this in the mail today, first spray i thought: Wait a second i know this" then it hit me, L'eau d'issey, not as strong however. not going to bore you with crazy details, average everything, 7.5 out of 10 from me, just because its so simplistically easy on the nose. Would i buy it again- No. I'd rather save up and buy L'eau D'issey is it good for the price- Yes, but very unoriginal and not just because of L'eau D'issey EDIT: Scratch that, Just smelled L'eau D'Issey again for the first time since last summer, and i must say it Smells worse than this, so they both suck.

I was about to say that all of you are liars and ask what was wrong with you, but yeah after 20 minutes this is definetely a L’eau D’Issey clone, with a few notes missing. The melon is definetely more pronounced. As a college student with a crippling fragrance addiction, I think I’ll use this as a daily driver to conserve my LDSY bottle. Times are tough man.

It's a nice scent , Fresh, Clean and Aquatic. A bit generic but it smells so good. It opens up with like fresh citrusy , fruity and green notes in the background then dry down is musky woody. The Melon note is dominant in this perfume. This is perfect for the spring and summer. I like 18 Intense EDT Perry Ellis. Longevity is good. Thumbs Up. Rating : 8 / 10

Who said this is strong? Mild as f for a intense. Might buy it some year since it's cheap and for a 100ml but yeah it's only like Issey Miyake for a few seconds, and wayyy milder. It's kinda close to Ferrari Scuderia Red.

Hello, Cireal, totally agree with you, it really looks like L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme, the difference is that in my country: Brazil, does not come cheap. Disappointed.

L'Eau d'Issey? With pepper??? L'Eau d'Issey is a mile higher.... easily.

This is so strong and spicy and woody and strong as i spray but for what.... for it to not be as strong the longer you wear it it diminishes exponentially like really fast. Smells like pine tree that burns nostrils to me.

Too bland and synthetic. Impersonal, feels like a machine - if that makes sense

American Psycho (2000) Patrick Bateman and his circle of businessmen. Lean build, slicked back hair, suit. Smooth, composed, slick, sly charisma, knows when to be charming and/but not in a wholesome way, slightly aggressive but in a downplayed indirect way. Overall, there's a lot of slick, sweet, smoothness on the outside, in the silage. But just like Bateman, there's something a little off about it. The closer you get to it, you notice as if something about the strange combination of notes and the edginess of the wood leaves you with an unsettling feeling. I like to think of the opening of this fragrance as a young Bateman, lanky and awkward who was bullied and misunderstood, which caused him to develop into his slick, successful form. But his adult self retains that angst of his youth and it manifests in his behavior if you are keen to it. Not listed, but the note combinations give a very much transparent chili pepper note. There are also moments where I think it smells like Taco Bell's fire sauce. The edginess of the wood gives a cloudy, black pepper vibe.

People saying this smells like Issey Miyakke need their noses tested. It does NOT smell anything like it. It smells cheaper slightly citrus with some wood.That's pretty well it.It's fairly strong for the first 1.5 hours I sprayed it twice on my wrist and it's projecting 3 feet no problem. Not bad just not my thing. I got it for only $20.00 may use it as car air freshener. Newbies to the frag game wouldn't mind this at all!

Blind bought this and tried it out on paper first. At first I was thinking WTF, is this bug spray? It died down quite a bit from its initial blast, but I did not detect any citruses from this at all. I get a little sea note, cedar and rosemary. Smells synthetic. Not a bad looking bottle though. Will probably swap with someone that might enjoy this more than I do. Overall 4/10

I like this .... noted I like fougere’s in general .... not my favorite, but it is rally nice, not even sure if it should be classified fougere! I’m in to heavy winter type stuff ... so my opinion is removed, from many , I’d call this a freshy ... it’s green as herbal ! ... a little bit spicy ! Performance is 2-4 hrs maybe , it’s cheep and worth the cost ... for some!

Quite briefly & simply ... If you can't afford a new bottle of 'Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme' then this is your friend. I think anyone who catches a whiff as you stroll by will be hard pressed to tell any difference ! (The notes listed appear to be incorrect & don't seem to bear any resemblance to this particular fluid by the way !)

Perry Ellis 18 Intense, really should not have the word intense in it. The fragrance is honest a lightweight copy of 'Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme'. It doesn't last or project like Issey but its not terrible. I would suggest laying both Perry Ellis 18 Intense and Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme.

This smells very similar to Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme. Floral and crisp would be the best way to describe the way it smells. Longevity is alright with projection being just as average. I would say that this is a good alternative to Issey Miyake for less than half the price.

I have over 300 fragrances in my collection. I sprayed it at Shoppers Drug Mart today and knew right away that it smelt very similar to Issey Miyake. Of course a cheaper version of it. For $20 fragrance you can't go wrong.

Smells great. Its a fresh clean aquatic scent thats very masculine. Problem is longevity and projection is terrible. Lasts about 2-3 hours but projects alright for the first hour.

this is strong , it burns my damn eyes, I kinda like it, similar to issey miyake only with crap loads of pepper to make your eyes burn,, Yup this ones a winner folks,,,

Nice and long lasting citrus fragrance, very very refreshing for casual wear.
