America for Men

Nice, clean fresh, office safe daytime fragrance. Both projection and longevity (about 5 hours) are quite average. This is a scent you might wanna grab for casual use - at those moments you dont want to "overdress" with too luxurious fragrance. It is cheap in a good way. In my opinion suits best for spring & summer daytime wear, but of course being such a clean scent, it can be worn any season, any time. Of course - it has a lot of competition in very similiar scents at the same price range. Scent 6/10 - generic inoffensive fresh Projection 6/10 Longevity 6/10 - ~5hours Value 9/10

this was all my husband used to wear 12yrs ago when I met him, brings back lots of memories this is a great fragrance. He still has a small bottle and I like to sneak in there and sniff the cap, memories back all over again.

I saw the comparison to long discontinued Clinique Chemistry and at $16 for a 5oz bottle I had to check it out for myself. Chemistry was probably one of, if not my first fragrance purchase in the mid 90's. It has been ages since I've owned a bottle or even smelled it, but the first spray of PE America defiantly brought back some familiarity. I love the 90's citrusy barber shop vibes this fragrance gives off. I'm sure you probably aren't getting anything past 4 hours from America, but for that price who cares. I also think this would make a good gym scent. The only drawback is the atomizer and cap both suck. *****Don't get this confused with the newer America, which is an Aventus clone.

A nice fragrance very spicy and aromatic that does it's job. The bergamot is really strong in this one. In the dry-down the sandalwood and musk are predominant. Though a bit to musky for my taste... The smell takes you into the past, it's resemblant to the old-scool men perfumes (but without smelling like an old man!), pretty nice actually. Moderate to low longevity and sillage, suitable for work or any casual ocasions. Beying so cheap you should give it a try

America for Men by Perry Ellis is very nostalgic for me. My older cousin wore this in the late 90s, I liked it then, and I like it now. It can be worn all year, lasts very long, and the price is cheap. I would consider this to be a great cheapie if budget is an issue. It smells masculine and has a bitter citrus opening. Chances are, nobody is going to smell like you. Nice underrated fragrance.

Fruity/Green opening, vaguely aquatic impression a la Green Irish Tweed. Dry down brings the aromatics forward with a bitter/dry impression. Subjective association is new starchy denim over Chuck Taylor's and a leather jacket over a t-shirt. Does invoke an all-American vibe with the hints of leather, mown grass, and casual-leaning bitter fruit.

To me,this smells just like Aspen for Men by Coty. Nice fresh smell.6-8 hour longevity. A good 2-3 feet of projection.Good fragrance for the price. If you like Aspen then you will def like this. I really can't tell the difference between the two. I would rate this a 7 out of 10.

Refreshing and unexpensive; a good fragrance for those days when you are wearing jeans, white t shirt and sneakers or just after a nice cool shower after a hot day during summer. by the way ,not that synthetic at all. 80/100

I paid $8 for a 5oz on clearance and I'm not disappointed!! This is the 90s' "Aventus"!! "Macho man" fragance!! Have the same vibe of Aspen or Cool water but more mature and synthetic!!

This is great, love the pineapple note, super heavy masculine and really gives off the 90s vibe. The opening is harsh but the fragrance gets better after the first few minutes.

I've read where the pineapple in this is compared to the famous pineapple in Aventus, and maybe that's more the case with the more recent unisex formulation in the blue box with red lettering. This seemed much heavier on the bergamot, and not hugely interesting as men's fragrances go. It's a light summer scent, with lavender--it doesn't smell tacky, nor does it smell classy. It's just kind of there. It is VERY inexpensive, though--I got a big bottle of this for under $20 on amazon.

I had the 90s version. Gave it away, performance and scent not that great for me. Reminds me of aspen or a weaker/watered down version of cool water. It is cheap and comes in 150 ml. Which is great because you're going to need to reapply this perfume a couple of times throughout the day

Another "free sample frag" that came with an order. I kind of felt it was like a spicier Cool Water (again, the silly theory they might have of covering all the scent categories in one blend). It's rather strong, harsh and chemically, with a more leathery drydown than Cool Water, but it's the nasty fake Ass-leather note that I get from cheaper aquatics and fruity scents. Sometimes a particular whiff will be repulsive enough that I really marvel at how bad it is. I won't say that I was surprised though.

A very light, synthetic fragrance with hints of fruit, powdery vanilla, anise, a bit of dry greens, dry lavendar and woods. Smells like a very old school slash on aftershave. score 3/10 a nice powdery old school scent, points deducted forless than desirable projection, silage and longevity.

Something old and masculine. It's fresh spicy citrus-bergamot stuff. Mayme similar to Chanel Egoiste Platinum if my memory is good. The sample is strong and cold on my skin. Can be use in the summer or in hot situations. It's not my cup of...not enough sweet for my taste:)

Based on the favorable reviews here on this site I decided to blind buy this stuff. There was only a 150ml bottle left at my online provider, and I took the risk to purchase it. Big risk considering if you don't like it you're stuck with e behemoth bottle. Can I just say, I got lucky, very lucky. If I had to sum up what this smells like? Opens up like Aspen, hits the mid like Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce, and drys down closer to Creed Green Irish Tweed over Cool Water. This stuff is a true banger in my books. What funny is that I really wanted Perry Ellis America the new version bottle 2020 (Blue/Red), but I must say I'm impressed with the quality of this stuff. Got this very cheap and was not blown away from it at all. The 90s has so many ultra masculine, body odor scents. This is just another one. It's nothing too special, if you want to smell like a 90s photo of 90s Johnny Depp sweating all over the place from a 48 hour coke binge then feel free, because that's what it smells like to me. It's not that classy nor is it interesting. It feels very synthetic and leaves a metallic taste in my mouth after the first 40 minutes. The dry down is heavy and doesn't differ too much from the opening, which is just B.O and nothing else to me. There is a frag that smells exactly like this and it's either a Calvin Klein or Polo Sport. 6/10

I only did a dab sampling once. At first, it smells like a Dunhill Desire for Men/Cuba Orange type of fragrance. After about an hour a "synthetic" wood note emerges with force. I suggest just getting the "super cheapo" Cuba Orange. Then, if you like that, the next step up is probably Rochas Lui, or just stay with the Cuba, since it's so cheap.

This fragrance has a bitter synthetic green/ leather bite to it before it dries down, and after that, it smells like fresh laundry, still warm out of the dryer. All in all, it's not a bad scent, and not something I'd mind smelling on someone else, but it's not something I would wear often.

one of my favourite years ago. Light, subtle and the dry down is manly sweet. I don't know how they could mix those ingredients... i didn't even care actually. All I can remember is when my ex GF always wore my jackets. Very nice memory. Scent : 8 Projection : 7 Longevity : 9
