Perry Ellis Red

An unspectacular fragrance with alluring powers. Perry Ellis Red is a haunting ghost. It is impossible to find because Perry Ellis sells FOUR other fragrances creatively given the name "red". I have my doubts that anyone will ever stumble across this web page to read my review. I picked up this version of "red" up in the form of a gift set with a damaged box from Ross for around $13. You want to know what's so wild about "red"? "red" is my most complimented fragrance in my collection. "red" to me smells like walking up to the unattended men's fragrance section at a Belk with used tester strips haphazardly shoved in the little boxes. It's fresh and spicy with noticeable juniper, sage, and sandalwood notes and a vague fruity accord I guess they wanted to call "red" apple. It's a clean, modern, fresh masculine without any aquatic, tonka, or ambrox notes. Maybe that simplicity and slight sidestep of modern tropes is why people seem to demand I tell them what I am wearing when I don "red". Family. Cashiers. College girls. Older women. Landscaping coworkers. Office coworkers. Random people walking by. Unsolicited compliments are honestly a pretty rare occurrence for me but it was my daily driver during the summer of 2018 and I felt like a Youtuber puffing up their compliment count when I wore it. "red" sits at the back of my collection but even still, wearing it once every probably 2-3 months, I still seem to get random people complimenting the stuff whenever I wear it. Go figure. If you find this floating around somewhere for $13, scoop it up and give it to your lame nephew. Change his life.

Lady at Dillard's sprayed some of this on a card for me today. I really do like the smell. Not offensive at all and quite easy to please with this one. It smells extremely similar to some other scent I couldn't quite remember at the time. But, it would be a pretty safe purchase in my opinion, especially if the price drops to bargain bin like most of the others from this house... I would definitely snatch up a bottle without a second thought.

Solid, if not spectacular fruity freshness. It's crowd-pleasing, but I wouldn't call it generic. The performance is mediocre, though that's to be expected from this house and for the price this goes for. I could see this as a good choice for a high schooler or someone who's just getting into fragrances, and I might actually take it over any of the other fragrances in the Perry Ellis box-shaped line.

I love the way this one smells! Such a bright crisp apple note in the opening. Later it dries down to a mossy aromatic scent with a distant leather holding onto the reminiscence of the brighter fruity notes. Sadly the problem with this wonderful fresh scent is the same for many others in its category. The performance leaves something to be desired.

This is a nice inoffensive daytime fragrance and if you spray enough it lasts quite well. Sweet, spicy, and fresh. AUD$20. Bargain

Don't know why people are saying this smells like apple. Sprayed it on in the shop today, it's very similar to davidoff hot water and in the dry down almost identical to very sexy for him by victoria secret, but not as dirty. Nothing to rave about. Not masculine, could see a flamboyant guy wearing this at a club, but not for every day use.

I'm into edgy sweet oriental fragrances. This one I really didn't like, it's a very generic fragrance. Its only statement is "I'm a male". I'm sure you can find a lot that smell like this. I wore it to the gym just to smell of something.

This sounds good. Looking forward to trying it. It seems that something happened to Perry Ellis over the past year, something good. They came up with the Oud collection, and I don't have to mention the hype that's going around Black Vanilla Absolute, which is still out of stock.

Why is this being confused with 360 Red? The reviews are for PE Red but retail searches all bring you to 360 Red. Does anyone know where to buy this? You can find the other 3 flankers but this one is always so hard to find due to the confusion.

I am reminded of Aigner Man2 when I smelled this scent. Calm, inoffensive. Good for everyday or office wear. Citrus turns to peppery dried apple turns to soft sandalwood. It lasts for 4-5 hours on 2 sprays to the body. 7.5/10
