First, just a heads-up that the gift set is currently selling for $32.50 at Macys, which consists of a 100ml bottle and travel rollerball along with free shipping. Although not a favorite, it's a very good full-bodied Comme des Garcons fragrance at a bargain price IMO. Check it out if you're interested. I just ordered a bottle since it's bargained priced. Anyway, I sampled 'Dead Girl' perfume in the Fall of 2014 at my local Sephora. The fragrance was in the women's fragrance section and, after talking to a sales associate, it was noted that the ladies (staff and customers) did not like it because it had a very masculine opening. But I was also told the drydown was quite nice. Needless to say, I haven't seen this fragrance in the stores in at least six months. To my nose, the opening was messy-masculine. I have heard it described as a dryer sheet...absolutely, just add a cup of fabric softener, toss in a packet and table pepper and throw in a handful of dirt and that's what I take-away during the first few minutes. I found it to be bit odd...but it was certainly masculine so it didn't bother me; certainly not like it would some of the ladies. However, a few minutes later Girl transitioned into a decent woody, flowery, earthy scent that is very dry. I am not a fan of powdery fragrances, however 'Dead Girl' was not overly-powdery to my nose and the Iris was well-done. Conversely, I didn't detect any vetiver in this one. To my nose the resulting blend in drydown is a pleasant, warm, creamy cedarwood (smelled like a cedery sandalwood) with some violet and earthy patchouli rounding out the background. Not too shabby and better than expected. At times (fleeting glimpses) I could detect some slight similarities to something like a Bois des Isles or Trumper Sandalwood but, as I said, those moments were fleeting, at best, as Girl is oddly-unique to my scent pallet. This fragrance projects pretty well (it doesn't push-out, but it leaves a nice scent trail on my skin) and the 3-4 times I sampled it lasted 8+ hours on my skin (I would be surprised if it didn't). Overall, I feel this scent is worth checking-out (it's a good frag) but it's not quite my style and/or I have other perfumes in this genre that I really love. C'est la vie! Moreover, since it's bargained priced it may be a good blind-buy some men and women who like a ballsy type fragrance. Regardless, I was pleasantly surprised...really nice peppery fragrance with a loud/sharp iris note that was not overly powerdery. Moreover, the woods/vetiver and patchouli combined with the pepper and iris give Dead Girl a very nice dark/woody/spicy vibe that is lightly perfumey. While I balked at the $100+ asking price, I have no problem paying $32.50 for a bottle of this juice. And yes, the bottle is quite fugly.

This is absolutely perfect scent for man or woman who’d like to make statement that they are EXCENTRIC and slaves to abstract ART. My immediate visual imagery pulled Kazimir Malevitch “Black Square” - iconic to seeking minds and general-public-opinion’s disaster. IT is unbelievable in its longevity; and I think, in general, it’s just accidental struck from other dimension that happened to come through Pharrell. Commes des Garçons, from other side - are so expected to be found behind thing like this! - ha-ha just twist their name gender-wise and here you go! This Violet note always stands out - Fahrenheit, eau de Gaga, Jil Sander Man, BH Metal Jeans (I believe), e.g. etc. ..but ‘Oh boy’ (or shall I say here - ‘Oh girl’!) Violet here is abducted into some futuristic alliance.. All ingredients named - are quite familiar.. how come this perfume twisting my olfactory brains!? There must be something else there, or maybe they irradiate it by laser beam while mixing.. I promise you - U WON’T LIKE IT - cause IT’S made NOT 4 LIKING!! IT’s for making the person who wears it to fall out of ordinary, to generate disturbance and to challenge feelings and mind - as if some ultra-violet alien hides behind their human form. Don’t be scared now to try though- it’s perfume by all definitions and there’s nothing unpleasant here. Brilliant (well, quasi-brilliant) perfume. Any age any gender can pull it and be challenged by it. As much as I like to pull “macho” majority of the time - I have days when I want to listen only to David Bowie and wear silver plastic shoes on bear feet and not to comb my hair, and put all my jewelry at once and go to wine tasting with friends.. is it ‘girl’ in me? cause on those days this perfume is the “bulz-eye”.

One of the best celebrity scents I've tried! I thought it was going to be more feminine, but this is indeed very Unisex. I agree, more masculine than feminine, but still perfectly Unisex. There's nothing synthetic about it, and it is very nichy in scent. If Bond No. 9 and Montale had a baby, that company would produce scents inline with this one. Without looking at the notes, I was thinking cotton candy, hazelnut, violet, patchouli... but looking at the note pyramid, the iris must be softening up the vetiver to give it that nutty vibe. The amount of sweetness is perfect, not too much, but not so little as to allow the notes to be too controversial to be unisex. Also, the iris doesn't stand out as a singular note. I've never smelled iris mixed or masked or complimented so closely as this before, so I must say, I'm wowed. This is not the basic woody or citrus or generic "I just want to be even more famous" type of celebrity scent at all. There was some real thought put into this scent and it wears WELL above its price tag! The only negative for me is that the bottle is a little childish to my personal tastes and reminds me of the spongebob and marvel/disney scents, but who cares - it's what's inside that counts. Props, Pharrell. This is dope!

Scent: 10 I was looking for this fragance but It is not easy to find It here. Endly i found It in a perfumes online outlet for a very good price. The smell is wonderful for me. It is soapy, creamy, powdery, Woody, flowery and very very spicy. It makes me remwmber of other comme de garcons parfum but i cant remember which one... Cdg quality for a Zara price. Longevity: 8 This is not de most long lasting perfume i have, but It is better than most of the perfumes which can be found nowdays un the market. Sillage: 8 His projection is quite good as well. This fragance is not a beast but it goes with you and after you for some hours Quality/price: 10 As i have said before, i find It quite as a niche fragance for the price that a supermarket perfume costs. It really worths his price Versatility: 9 I think It is a very versatile perfume. It could be a oerfect perfum for a daily use case of his soapy and powdery character... But It is strong and spicy enough yo became a nice company for night out or yo assit todo different events. Global: 8

I blind bought this because it had been on my "to try" list for a while and it was on sale for almost nothing. When I took my first spray onto my arm, I thought I'd made a terrible mistake - the irises and violets are really strong, and it smelled to me like an old lady's handbag. (I would later get used to the opening.) Leaving it on, though, it morphed into something quite different. I think this must have been the pepper and the woods coming through. My skin tends to make everything smell a little soapier and cooler in temperature, and I think that helped too. It has a real slouchy, chilled-out air about it, and the flower punch at the beginning makes a lot more sense when you've smelled the drydown. As a Pharrell scent, I think it totally works: it's slick and cool, with a bit of a quaint classic charm about it. It's also weirdly non-gendered, rather than unisex - less "for men and women", more "that wasn't even a question in the first place".

So I blind bought this perfume based on the post-mortem hype this one has recieved, as I was looking for a unique addition to my office-rotation. The notes seemed office-friendly, and the reviews seemed promising, so I managed to cop one of the last in stock from a discounter. For $30 for a 100ml this felt like robbery. Me being the robber. A distinguished, smooth and unique violet and iris composition, which fit perfectly as a daily driver, as it's very office-friendly. It has some classical elements to it, while still being a completely modern scent. It has this comforting effect with the iris and violet leaf, while at the same time the woods and pepper give it some character. This lasts an entire day at work and then some. I cannot express how glad I am that I pulled the trigger on this one. It's a strong like bordering on love for me.

Beautiful violets and woods. This is a smooth, almost creamy concoction with sharp peppery facets. Just really nice. Iris smoothing it out to balance some masculine notes, and it comes out very unisex to me. An earthy, woody patch of violets. Because of the sharp pepper woods note over violet I visualize this scent as a soft pastel purple cotton ball with metal studs. The dry down phase of this is mostly patchouli and thin woods. This reminded me of JLo's Glowing in some ways in the heart. I like it for the same reasons I like that one. This is less fluffy, more unisex though. I have the tiny size without the weird bottle. I wish I had the weird bottle. Update: I can't tolerate whatever makes this peppery/woody. My nose has learned to find a similar aromachemical in some other men's colognes also and it's so annoying.

One of the best bang-for-buck fragrances I currently own. I must be one of the few people who actually likes the fragrance all the way from the opening to the dry down. I am getting the sense that this fragrance was presenter quite ironically, with its juvenile bottle (designed by KAWS for the collectors out there) and its completely misleading name. I could not image a fragrance that was less “girly” than this one is (if we exclude the house of Aramis). If you want a niche experience for a cheapie price, I would definitely start with this one. Enjoy this fragrance for what it is, and take every review with a pinch of salt. When coming on here to leave my review I was shocked to see the low score. I would say buy a sample, but for the price this is currently trending for, I would argue a blind buy might be in order.

If you are looking for: * A more feminine Lalique Encre Noire; or * A more masculine Guerlain Insolence; with * A dash of Perles De Lalique Here you go, Girl by Pharrell. This perfume is gorgeous and delightfully androgynous. The violet lends that slight green floral but watery transparency to the vetiver. The lavender is not very pronounced and the spice adds uniqueness. This can be worn in all seasons and by anyone. I am wearing this on an 88F humid summer day. Exactly what I would expect from Pharell. A serious floral vetiver. A meeting of the genders in the middle. Ten years ago, I would not have appreciated GIRL. This requires moderate fragrance experience to understand. Great value as well. So happy that I found this one. Longevity is amazing, at least 8 hours. I'd guess silage is moderate.

G I R L is aptly named because it's quite feminine, in my opinion! Maybe tomboyish but not masculine at all. There is a sweet powderiness to it from the musk and lavender that I can't imagine on a man. It is a quirky scent, for sure. One of the few fragrances with noticeable vetiver that I actually enjoy--my other vetiver-heavy favorite being Angel Muse. Vetiver can come across as very masculine and mature and unwearable for me but this is a lovely representation of it. Fresh and peppery florals and woods add depth and make this an instant favorite of mine. This is a good low maintenance casual jeans and t-shirt kind of fragrance, reminiscent of CK Obsessed in its vibe. It's also super strong and has crazy longevity, I can smell it on myself the next morning.

This is a very unique perfume. Niche quality at really low designer price. The notes you get keep changing with time. My wife was disgusted with the harsh violet and peppery opening and told me to get rid of it immediately, but hours later told me "this" one is so much better than the previous one. She was shocked when i told her it's the same one I was wearing all the while. This perfume gets bad reviews for so many reasons: tacky looking bottle, being a celebrity perfume and also the challenging opening notes. Give it a bit of time and the true beauty of this lovely perfume is stunning. it's smooth, aromatic and woody with niche quality. I strongly urge you not to judge a perfume by it's bottle and give it a try..

So I have had this several days and applied it many times. I was really excited by the notes, violet, vetiver and patchouli being among my favourites. I really think this tends towards the masculine rather than the feminine and if were marketed as such would be more popular. The bottle is unusual (read hideous) and does not add to the product: I kinda want to cover it in black gaffer tape or something. I actually was hoping for stronger violet (I verry much love Grey Flannel) but to me this is subdued. There is an underlying sweetness, which reminds me of Oak by Bath and Body Works. The woods and spices balance the sweetness and make this an interesting, but not unnerving fragrance. .

Initial blast - for the first couple of hours, it's very similar to Narciso Rodriguez for him: the violet is nearly overpowering and catches in the throat. Later, the heat has died down and the iris comes through I think. The scent is calming and pleasant - I understand what people say when they talk about a "plastic" smell. Maybe that's the styrax. My nose cannot detect a resemblance between this and Farenheit - but I only have smelt Farenheit Parfum. So maybe one of the other versions of Farenheit is close. The bottle is a bit odd - like something from a Ren and Stimpy cartoon, and the packaging a bit irritating, since I can't get the bottle in and out of the box very easily.

Loved this fragrance from the first try, which was on the reccomendation of a friend. A youthful, neon, synthesized opening with lavendar, followed with creamy pepperiness and a pretty violet note that endures the whole journey. Dries down with slight grassiness and wood. To me this is evokes a pretty-boy skateboarder dude at the skate park in summer or waiting at the bustop in the rain that evening. It was ahead of its time and ahead of its innevitably mainstream audience. If it was Comme des Garçons-branded it would have flown. A daring endeavour, and I'm glad it happened. If perfume had a forever shelf life, I'd by 10 bottles to keep in storage.

At first i didn't like it but then i realized i sprayed too much on. It soon became a very addictive scent,so much so that i bought another bottle as back up. You know what it kind of smells like to me? smoke machine smoke... like theatrical smoke. It's a very pleasant unisex scent, but not in the usual aquatic CK One style unisex. The violet is so nice and then it has a great sandalwoody dry down. Smells similar to Narciso Rodriguez for Him, another great unique frag. In the end: great smell if you want something different but not too challenging... and how can you go wrong with Comme des Garcons quality for 30 bucks? Just go easy on the trigger.

*why* is this not more raved about? it is spectacular imo. if it were sold by cdc it would get the accolades it deserves. i am smitten (and i love the bottle, too. the cap -- not so much :-) so: it's a dry, woody violet with a very small sweet tinge in there, which latter is not immediately apparent but definitely there in the dry-down. shades of fahrenheit and the original NR for him. addictive. use sparingly and get a bottle before it disappears (it's been discontinued.) a major find for me, along the lines of caron's 3me homme having been a major find for me at the time (no relation scent-wise, though.) and yes, i'm a woman.

This is excellent! It's bitter, energizing, very energizing actually. So the opening is not so great to my tastes, it's a bit sweet but then it gets to like an almond apple kind of thing, then the vetiver and wood and some nice bitter flowers come in, and omg its sooo good. I think it's predominantly male as the most of the effect. I feel manly and on standby, energized but not agitated. Full of potential to act but remaining in calm, and precision. Not under the domain of desire. Very cool! Highly recommended. It projects for about 4-5 hours on my skin, then remains for your own satisfaction for maybe 4 more hours easily.

Girl smells a LOT like my vintage Worth Je Reviens. I like this very much. It definitely has a gamine quality. For rainy days. Edit: Now that I own and have tested both, I can confirm this is VERY similar to Dior Farenheit. (I still think Je Reviens is similar but this is much closer to the Dior.) Violet and vetiver are the predominating notes. I actually think this smells higher-quality than the current formulation of Farenheit EdT (which performs like an aftershave or eau de cologne.) Projection is enormous and longevity is above average. One spray is generally enough, and I'm an oversprayer.

This is one that will smell according to its surface and environment. Initially, I had huge reminiscent of Dior Fahrenheit, as I’m sure was intended by Pharrell. It then got smokish and feminine but changed to sweet and masculine. It switched back and forth many times and I love it. It’s like wearing 2 different but similar fragrances. For a bold, extrovert, like myself and Pharrell, it fits very well. I am 17 years old but I feel my grandma with a similar personality as mine could wear this. If you try this fragrance out, don’t let it wear you. Overall: 9/10

Wow. I love this scent. A blast of pepper greets you upon opening, but Girl dissipates quickly into a unisex floral vetiver. The lavender is here but it’s light and not overpowering. The spicy wood notes hold up the base, and I get great performance, a little over 4 hours and it’s still going. I commented years ago, here on Fragrantica that I liked the bottle, but I assumed the juice was not for me. So glad I got to test Girl because I’m purchasing my next perfume now. Best budget celebrity scent I’ve come across in several years.

I'm glad I was told this was unisex because the "GIRL" name misled me. This stuff is awesome and definitely niche quality. Nothing else that I own whether niche or designer smells anything like this. There's something in this that is so addictive to me that makes me keep smelling wherever I sprayed it. Very interesting, unique, yet crowd pleasing at the same time. Don't let the price tag fool you. The price only dropped due to poor marketing. When I run out I will definitely be repurchasing. Great scent for any guy any age.

This is DRY, on me. The opening is rather scattered, mostly peppery, pleasant but directionless. Then there is almost an hour of puffs of vetiver/lavender. This feels somewhat masculine, yet remains pleasant. From there on out it's smooth dry wood with powdery florals. The blending settles in at this point and is downright gorgeous. After about 6 hours it's a skin scent, but on my skin it lasts. My 6 year old said, during a hug after I'd been wearing it over 10 hours with no resprays, "too beautiful" with a deep sigh.

I loveeee this so so much bruh why’d they have to discontinue it TT I wish cdg would rerelease this under their name only or something plz! This is one of my signature scents, but it’s getting harder to find :c I love layering this with a dab of patchouli oil on my wrists, neck, and knees so it’s extra earthy with that violet 💜 also tried that with sandalwood oil, but love it a lil more with patchouli 🌱 I might try layering it with untitled l’eau from maison martin Margiela hmmm

What a two-faced frag! It started harsh and very dry - lot of dry wood, dusty vetievr and harsh pepper. Definitely masculine, I thought! Aften an hour warmed by the spring Sun, violet and iris came. Gentle and bright, slightly sweet and cosmetic powdery. Definitely feminine! I love the base - very mild and at the sime time fresh cedar and veriter which turns from stucking in the lungs dustiness from the opening into gentle and sweet lemon.

This was a blind buy bc I enjoy unisex scents and Pharrell as an artist. I can see this easily becoming a daily wear. The iris pulls more towards orris in the dry down, and is all but non-existent in the open. The styrax and alcohol gives the opening a retro, Calgon-esque feel, a trip to the 80s/90s that I wasn't expecting. It quickly mellows out into a well blended, unisex fougere that lasts for 10 hours and is more than worth the price.

The Fahrenheit-connexion made me a bit weary of this scent, because Fahrenheit is bonded with some fairly bad memories for me (as our brains do with perfumes and memories good, bad and ugly). But I am glad I tried this perfume. Cheap as chips and amazingly beautiful. It has the same metallic violet- note as Fahrenheit, but in an inoffensive way. It has a niche feeling, special and less boring than most unisex fragrances. Recommended.

I really like this, I tend to avoid celebrity scents but got this for a good price and the notes are right up my street. A blast of pepper settles down to a lovely woodsy fragrance combined with patchouli, cedar and vetiver with a waft of iris. I really don't understand why this isn't more popular it's really rather lovely. It's not a girly girl perfume but it's very unisex, I'm glad I bought it before it disappears.

This perfume is very unique. That's why I bought it. It is good quality, but not a safe scent. If you like floral, pepper and wood... this one will please. It will open up in that order of notes. I like pepper and smoke and wood so this is up my alley. I like new, different and interesting scents. This is not a clubbing, panty dropper, working scent. I think it's purely just for self appreciation and enjoyment.

Masculine. Spicy & Fresh. Unique, sophisticated, classy scent. 👌 Very good longevity 8hrs+. This had so much hate due to its old price ($120ish) however, this goes below $40 now which makes this a steal! After all, this is a collab between Pharell, Kaws & Commes des Garcons (CDG). Perfect for daily wear in the office or casual meetings. Excellent performance.

What a gem I have found in the rough... The opening was quite reminiscent of For Him by Narcisso Rodriguez, but then it slowly turned into this more pleasurable Fahrenheit. This fragrance will be something to reckon with once all the stocks dry up and the prices skyrocket. Like someone already mentioned, you won't like it because it is not meant for you.

Wondeful perfume, embarrassing affiliation to a lame celebrity who wears a giant, glans-shaped hat. Who cares though, I'm still wearing it! It's violety and smooth with a sort of hot chocolate undercurrent (patchouli?), but not at all sweet. Very strong too, even after showering. It's very similar to Fahrenheit, but stands up on its own.

I got this as a blind buy, 99p for 10mls on ebay. Its an intruiging blend that isnt overpoweringly floral or feminine, although I picked out the violet note I didnt notice the lavendar until I read the notes here. On my skin it warms up to a gorgeous mild white patchouli and violet with a touch of lavendar (which I dont usually wear)

It’s fresh, green, woody and somewhat peppery. It has interesting dark (slightly smoky and musky) undertones on my skin. On the skin it’s less green and more woody but those woods are softened by powdery iris. Can definitely feel some earthiness from vetiver or/and patchouli in the base. Nice, I think the quality is really good.

Sharp. Powder (violet & iris) and pepper. Reads more guy than girl on me, but suitable for anyone. Quite a noseburner in the beginning, becomes smoother after about 15 minutes but keeps some sharp edges. I can still smell it on myself after 12 hours, sometimes even the next day. I really like it, but not an everyday scent to me.

Love this fragrance , had it for the last 4 yrs I would say it’s a very pleasant masculine scent . One thing about it that I am not satisfied is the longevity is moderate and sillage performance is poor. Other then that e smell is great on my skin. Recommended to those who want a subtle woody dry down on your skin.

This is just one of the best perfumes I've tries. I'm usually into unisex perfumes so it works for me really well. The smell is so strong And lasts for a long time even if you washed your clothes. highly recommend it to anyone who's into unisex fragrances. Just one of the best!

Tested it today. Liked it. It is an intriguing find on the drugstore shelf. I was also wearing Dior Homme Parfum at the same time. That was an interesting combination. It gave some edge to Dior Homme and elevated the iris in Girl. Being a female I find it completely unisex.

I knew this would not be a run of the mill celeb fragrance. I personally love the design and the bottle. The fragrance smells of powdery wet concrete...in a good way. Soft and creamy with a sharpness of pepper. Its art. So not surprisingly it won't be to everyones taste.

Am I crazy? I get little to no violet, at least in the vein of Narciso Rodriquez For Him or Fahrenheit. I get no pepper, no wood. It's just a beautifully musky, sweet ambroxan scent for me. I love it though, especially at the cost.

This is a great fragrance. I get tons of compliments. Truly unisex. No one will dislike the smell of this fragrance that comes in contact with you when you are wearing this. I do about 10-12 sprays and it lasts about 8 hours.

Girl reminds me of a type of mosquito pesticide (Egyptian incense) If you don't know, now you know. But somehow after a few wearings it grew on me and I think it smells intoxicating and pretty dam good. Kudos to Mr. happy.

Not a scent review: doesn’t sound like something I would like, but I do love the unique, pop art bottle. I love the character and colors, and it looks like a nice thing to hold in your hands. Props to the bottle designer.

Like a friendlier, more universal Fahrenheit with a touch of comforting baby powder. It’s really good and available at a snip. No brainer.

I like it. Reminds me of: the smell of rain + violets + woodsy + laundry in a subtle way. Update: I now own a 14-year supply crate of it.

Lots of pleasant wood. Top notes disappear quickly. Not abusive or suffocating. Lovely, but nothing special.

I blind bought this because it was a ridiculously good price. I had read about all the notes and read a lot of reviews and I was aware that it is very hit and miss and love-it-or-hate-it type of fragrance. Because of that I got two family members (one female and one male) to try Girl with me and whoever liked it best would get it. We thought, at least one of us would like it. When it arrived I loved the bottle (as did my female relative, my male relative was not keen and was confused by this being a unisex fragrance called "Girl"). We then each sprayed it. On my male relative it was well balanced, smoky, spicy, floral with a hint of sweetness in the background from the neroli and the lavender. On my female relative it was screeching with smoke and was sharp and had no balance at all. On me it was an absolute disaster, it was like I was reeking from a chemical fire, it was acrid with a chemical, tar-like smoke that was choking and this just overwhelmed all the other notes. It is not the pepper that was the problem (as other people have reported) as I often have pepper in my perfumes with no issue. I suspect it is the styrax and vetiver as I don't have these in my other fragrances. We all let Girl develop for a few hours. On my male relative it just developed and was lovely, it calmed down on my female relative but it still was not pleasant, on me it just became less aggressively offensive but was still horrid. The decision was unanimous, Girl was delightful on my male relative, unpleasant on my female relative and hideous on me. Girl has become a signature fragrance for my male relative and he has bought a few more bottles of it. If you blind buy this, my suggestion is you have a few candidates to try it. I would hate for one person to buy this and have the same experience as I did. I really like it, just definitely not on me.
