Eve Goes Eden

If I take into consideration the longevity and sillage, it's not worth the price. However, I do love the scent. I've tried a few cherry fragrances from big brands to smaller and more affordable names. Most of them in my opinion is either syrupy, or medicinal. But this fragrance is another thing: On my skin, it smells like sour cherry. It's delicately sneaking under a leathery note. The opening smells like you spill cherry juice on a leather jacket, but I smell the leather mostly. Then, it dries down fast as delicate, warm and cozy cherry floral scent. Regardless of its delicacy, which is supposed to be a turn off, turns out to be something I really enjoy. I don't recommend this to someone who are into beast mode fragrance or fruity scents.

The story goes that when Eve and Adam were in the Gardens of Eden, there was one tree from which they could not eat the fruit. Everything else was allowed except for the forbidden fruit. Eve then went along and took the fruit... well long story short, here we are on earth! Philly and Phill is a German niche perfumehouse with some excellent perfumes that I have come to smell only recently. I already did a review on Date in Downtown, and two other are still on my to do list (Romeo on the Rocks, and Railway to the Rooftop). Here I have the most feminine of them all... Eve Goes Eden! When I try perfume houses I usually get one for myself and one for the wife... how can she get mad if she gets a present herself 😅. As for the scent, this is a great fruity leather scent. It starts of with a blast of cherry, bergamot and violet. Very feminine! Eventhough the initial opening fills up the room fast, it isnt invading. It really pleasent and not overly sweet. In the dry down the leather, birch and patchouli come to play, in a very sensual and seductive way. Funny, its actually the other way around with Eve and the forbidden fruit, here in the perfume the fruit comes first and then the seduction. It is a lineair fragrance between two layers, with which I mean to say that at first its much fruit little leather, then more leather and less fruit. Its starts joyfull to become seductive later. For those who have watched the Netflix serie 'Lucifer', this is exactly how Eve (Season 4) is portrayed in the serie! Joyfull, playfull and seductive!

I bought this one in a sample set of three, beause I was curious to try some more expensive perfumes. I usually fall for a "bargain" in full bottles, but they usually turn out to be not so much a bargain because of poor longevity and overall performance. At first I was a bit confused. I hardly recognized them as perfumes at all... and decided niche perfumes must be beyond me... but trying them again after a couple of months, they must have matured because they are now completely recognisable. They are not niche enough not to remind me of other scents, but they are very distinct and with no irritating artificalness. To me Eve goes Eden is sweet, but not in the most conventional way when you use that dicription: much more full bodied. I recognize the leather although it doesn't smell like leather, but I suppose it is what anchors the other ingredients towards a more mature sweetness, to my nose at least. I like it very much but can imagine some people to be disturbed by it, so I will choose more carefully where to wear it. But, regarding all three of this saple set (Boudoir Belle, Date me in downtown), although I am pleased by the scents per se, I am completely disappointed as to performance. I had certaintly expected them to at least last for half a day. On me they do not. So, I in no way would have recognized them as niche if I hadn't paid the bill. Waaaay overpriced.

For leather lovers with a fun part, thanks cherry & violet notes. A picture? A biker girl with a fun attitude during a road trip. Sexy, yes! Fun, yes! Moderate sillage and longevity.

it smells like jam spread on a leather bag. i dont smell cherry, it gives me a berry jam smell, but mostly leather and patchouli, the base is strong even in the opening

I don’t get the cherry at all. The opening was juicier and more tart but then it quickly became sweeter. To my nose this is quite sweet actually (not in a gourmand way tho) and also somehow soapy - perhaps that’s the purple florals. It’s not for me. For context, I only tested this in store on a strip and on my wrist.
