Field of Flowers Violet Blossom

One would imagine Laura Ingalls smelling of this, walking through the meadow on a lovely sunny afternoon in her little calico dress maw made for Easter. I find one of the sixty minute Little House episodes lasts far longer than this scent does though. The bottle is cute, but not near as expensive looking as pictured...or perhaps I was just lost in the magic of my own imagination. I don't think I'd be happy if I paid full price for this. This is a pretty innocent little scent with a cute bottle. I paid twenty dollars and I'm glad to have this. If violet isn't a favorite of yours, it probably isn't worth the twenty dollars for you. I don't think I'll recommend this to anyone without warning first.

This is b far the best scent in "the field of flower's" line by philosophy, I don"t like any of the other scents in this line, This scent is absolutely fresh and clean .. the lotion is even better the scent lasts forever..

this is exactly what i expected it to be. its a nice violet scent and i appreciate that it has bath/body products. as for the scent, its more of a like than love. i like violets and ylang ylang and that is what i got. it isnt very unique or showstopping, but pleasant.

I agree, I do not smell the violets in this fragrance at all. It is quite pleasant, and I do like to wear this during the week in the spring. I do not think that the staying power is there. When this bottle is out, I won't be repurchasing.

This is a pretty, fresh green violet. It's not too sweet, and it's quite light. I enjoy this in hot weather. I bought it mostly for the pretty bottle, and I like the scent way more than I expected to like it!

A light fresh everyday scent. Subtle violets. Can imagine appealing to young (first scent) and old.

Picked up a small bottle of this at T.J. Maxx as I had run across it while searching for violet scented fragrances on the net. It was not really what I was expecting. It did not really smell like violets or anything close to violets, to me. It had a very powerful alcohol scent at first spritz and I had to wait patiently for the actual notes to show up as the strong alcohol smell dissipated. Once I was able to get a clearer idea of the scent, it reminded me of Crabtree & Evelyn Wisteria fragrance, floral and a tiny bit aquatic, but not really violet at all.

I picked this up at Marshall's for $19.99 and took a chance based on the few reviews here. I love violet and have many violet scents but many of mine are very mature, expensive, and sophisticated night time, cold weather scents. I wanted something light and fresh for spring. This is a very benign easy to wear fragrance, clean and light. It is also nice and green, which I love. It is not cloying or overly sweet, nor is it a child's first fragrance. I like it. It stays very close. I can still smell it on my wrist after a late afternoon walk in warm weather but it is so subtle that my boyfriend doesn't even smell it on me when I wear it. I like that it isn't artificial and headache inducing as many cheaper perfumes are. This was a nice buy and very enjoyable for the price. I think it is appropriate for casual wear when one wants to feel feminine, clean and fresh. I detect violet, powder, and a bouquet of soft spring flowers from the farmer's market, none overly sweet and no fruit, which is refreshing as I tire of those at times.

Violet Blossom starts off with a blast of synthetic "blue floral"- later, when the actual violets appear, they are joined by a dry, woody accord that smells a little like pencil graphite, and something oddly metallic. It reminds of of Ellen Tracy's Bronze, Annick Goutal's La Violette, and Sonoma Scent Studios Voile de Violette. I like my violets more on the fresh/dewy side. Staying power is longer than expected-

To me the powder comes out right at the opening with the violet. The wood shows up at the dry down, and there's just a hint of leather accord. I got it as something to layer with other perfumes. First report: it layers beautifully with L'Occitane's eau de vetyver, bringing out the nutmeg and making the vetiver just a bit smoky, like my lapsong soochang tea.

Powdery violet. HOWEVER. I sniffed this the wrong way once, and get a definite sunscreen scent. And now that's all I can smell. A powdery, violet scented sunscreen. Tocca's Violette is much more powerful of a violet scent. But hey - a few bucks at TJ Maxx to smell like violet sunscreen....I could smell worse.

I didn't pick up on any violets. I searched, waited and hoped. The base and middle notes had a dull and flat Glade room freshener vibe to it. This lingered longer than other Philosophy scents, though. Rare on that fact alone.
