My Philosophy Truthful

This smells like it is somewhere between old-fashioned or getting too old. This smells like something am older person might put on in an attempt to smell fresh.

I don't like this. If you spray it on, you will smell pleasant, no one will be upset by how you smell. Even walking around you may think, "oh, I smell nice." But when you whiff your skin up close, you will realize what a mess this is. It starts off very lemony green apple, sharp, sweet, tart, juicy. This phase is pleasant, if generic. What I don't like is what happens next. You know if you smell magnolia petals too closely, they have a lemony astringency to them, the scent that you might get from a cheap cleaning product or a bug spray? It's a chemical sharpness that zings into your head and gives you an unpleasant headachy feeling. This is the type of magnolia in this fragrance. I don't understand why they picked the least pleasing aspect of magnolia to feature in a perfume... Overall, you will smell clean and fresh, and I suppose trustworthy, if trustworthiness and innocence have a smell. But when you get close, you will realize that there is something ugly and also banal underneath...

"It's a worry free, Philosophy, hakuna matata." Sorry, can't help but sing this tune every time I see Philosophy products. My sister bought this for me, at my last birthday, and it's a lovely fruity floral, crisp, and clean. Magnolia and apples are a great pairing. It's no muss or fuss, you can wear it all year round. And each time I wear this, DH always says I smell good.
