Philosophy A Fragrance For Your Soul I'm not sure why there aren't any reviews for this one when it's been around since 2006 and it sells on Amazon.com and eBay. Maybe because it's an indie niche and not a big brand label fragrance selling at Macy's. This cologne is my signature scent. It's classified as unisex citrus and I might add citrus green floral. I picked this one as my signature scent because I'm a philosophy major (University of Los Angeles in California as well school of hard knocks) with my own liberal philosophies and I usually gravitate toward citrus based colognes and greens. Smells like sitting under a lemon tree in the middle of spring or summer. It's a little orchard or a breeze blowing over the leaves and you get hit by an apple like Sir Isaac Newton when you suddenly get an epiphany about the meaning of life and the laws of physics. It's like a lemon juice made for philosophers. Starts off with a fresh and hesperidic lemongrass. The scientist and chemist in me can identify the distinctive chemical note of Cymbopogon (lemongrass) which is herbal, green, aromatic and white-floral. In this formula, the jasmine note is clearly there. I get some fresh dewy hyacinth but the greenery around the florals keeps this in the unisex territory. I smell leaves and grass, but they are in the aroma therapy category. At times one might say that this cologne is medicinal and soothing. Therefore this scent can be used as a room spray for pure aroma therapy in your home. Never cloyingly sweet. Fresh and green. The dry down stage reveals amber, sandalwood and musk. There are no additional woodsy notes but the sandal is potent enough keeping this fragrance in a mini-Oriental stage, with a warm citrusy amber. Simple and to the pont. A fragrance which can be worn even by people who don't care for fragrances. Evocative of old citrus colognes from the Renaissance based on extracts of orange and lemon, and the white floral extracts and green leaves. Herbal and pleasant. At the end of the day I like to put this cologne on in the hot weather whenever I'm in Florida, Arizona or California, especially revitalizing me after a hard work out so that I can relax in the citrus juice. A perfect, absolutely perfect unisex citrus. Why it hasn't received any love or attention from Fragranticans is beyond me. I hope my first review helps. Highly recommended citrus floral fragrance.
