Pure Grace Endless Summer

A Magnolia Tree with Roots in a Vegetable Garden & a Watery-Green River... This is inspired by Un Jardin Sur Le Nil Hermès with a twist. Opens with a burst of iced-litchi & tomato-leaf accented with faint berries, and already the similarities to Un Jardin Sur Le Nil Hermès are showing through. As it transitions to the heart there's a blend of pomelo-tinged magnolia & clean jasmine, while the base notes are mainly floral support. Altogether a compelling fruity-floral blend that leans watery-green, with veins of green-tea & spa-products/shampoo running through. The longer it's on the skin, the more the magnolia shines through. This scent made me go back and look at Un Jardin Sur Le Nil Hermès differently. I was tipped off by the tomato-leaf note, but I compared them side-by-side and Pure Grace Endless Summer was definitely inspired by Un Jardin Sur Le Nil. The top notes including tomato/tomato-leaf are dialed a bit more forward in UJSLN, while the magnolia is dialed forward in PGES in a clever twist. Although they're not found on the Nile to my knowledge, magnolia grandiflorum are often "found on the edges of bodies of waters and swamps" in well drained soil (Wikipedia). If anyone knows of magnolia trees on the Nile please let me know. Although the presentation is softer here, performance is better than expected based on the ratings with soft but present projection and a skin-scent remaining at 5-6 hours (average performance but with a soft profile that might make it seem below average for some). Performance would likely improve with dark storage. As it is, it's a light & fresh spring-summer wearing experience. I'm a longtime fan of magnolia & UJSLN, so it's a double love for me. Enjoy! Update 07/22/24: Sprayed this on today during the dog days of summer, and it really shines in the heat. Still reminds me of Un Jardin Sur Le Nil Hermès, but there are some similarities to Bright Crystal Versace as well except for the tomato-leaf note in the top. Refreshing, cool, ice-watery, aromatic & fruity. I love this so much in the heat and the performance has improved to moderate but perfect for summer.

It was weird, I found this at Goodwill. I picked up the bottle to sniff the cap, and was in the process of setting it back down to move on, when my hand shot back up for another whiff! This is so much more interesting than I expected! Admittedly, I was merely smelling it out of curiosity because I'm "meh" on Philosophy, and 'Surely a summery Grace fragrance isn't gonna be much...', it just goes to demonstrate how you shouldn't write stuff off. Initially you smell more of the aquatic musky wood, despite those being base notes. But...after a second you absolutely do smell a kind of sour (in a good way), tangy greenness. It's not tomato leaf IMHO, but it smells how tomatillos taste! It's quite weird actually, and I don't believe this deserves to be put in the box it comes in, a display of generic looking palm trees within a sunset. No...this is green, floral, chilly, wet woods and clean, starchy laundry. It's SPRING as hell, but done in an intriguing way. It smells like late March or early April when you still might get frost on the ground, but some things are sprouting. This still has that familiar Philosophy Grace musk (which doesn't smell similar to sweet, floofy musks of GenZ fragrances), which is slightly abrasive. I never felt that "Grace" was very fitting actually, because it feels unblended. That's fine by me, I like unblended sometimes. But the musk combined with magnolia and a weird green fruit accord might be too strange for some folks, this is not a safe blind buy. I do have an issue with longevity here though. It's not actually as poor as some of the Grace line has been, but it becomes a skin scent relatively quickly. Whatever though, I can't personally complain as I got mine for cheapsies!

Loved this as my fragrance of the summer. Smelled like fresh, mouth watering fruit. Not heavy at all, but more depth than a simple body spray. During the summer it lasted longer and had a stronger sillage on the humid days, but on regular days it disappears within an hour. I will always associate this with good memories :) Edit: I have worn this fragrance throughout the summer months and on particularly nice weather days this whole year, and I've changed my opinion on longevity. Depending on where you spray it, this fragrance lasts a fairly long time, i.e. it lasts 8-10 hours in the crook of my elbow, but 2 hours on my wrists which are constantly rubbing on my desk or keyboard. Still a nice, fruity summer scent.

This was one of my favorite fragrances that Philosophy evr released. Gee whizz it smelled so good...and I found it a lot more complex than many other Philosophy smellz. It's very different than the gourmand and spicy-leaning perfumes I'd usually gravitate towards, but it wore perfectly in the heat of summer. I'm reminded of sitting on a beachside patio when I think of this one...super chill, super refreshing, and even a bit sensual.

Smells like a more watery and transparent version of Bella Essence or Burberry for Women. Probably the Citrus/Berry/Amber combo. Where Bella or Burberry are more berry & amber heavy, Endless Summer has more citrus. Maybe even a bit of Dolce and Gabbana light blue vibes in here. Either way I am reminded of other perfumes when I smell this and considering the unique inclusion of notes like ice, litchi...I am disappointed..I want more tomato leaf. If you are including Ice as a note, I want a cooling sensation when I smell this. All I really get is like a nice body spray with a bit of a fresh salad thing going on. I wanted to try Desert summer, but now I am worried the clay or cactus..aka the interest and what makes it desert-like won't even be detectable.
