Rose Whip

This opens as a yummy bright jammy rose. I lose the blackcurrant for a bit, as it very quickly then gives super sweet candy rose as the liquid is drying. But after a few minutes it starts to settle, the pink pepper comes through, but gently so. There’s a freshness in the middle. The osthamus is lovely here as it gives the sweet jammy rose a hint of fuzzy ripe apricot. I’m not getting any nutmeg, I can smell the woodiness coming from the base. The amber, musk and cashmere wood in the dry down are really lovely. Benzoin and sandalwood aren’t listed in the notes, but I’m defo getting a trace of Phlur’s distinct DNA which is lovely here and adds a tease of creaminess at the base to this fruity, sweet rose. Despite this opening as a bright, jammy gourmand-esque rose, it has settled into a beautiful, ever so slightly spicy, fresh & slightly woody, fruity rose with a warm ambery, slightly musky, base that gives it a tease of an intimate, sensual rose. Beautiful! This is really lovely. It’s one of those rose perfumes we’re a person will say “I don’t like rose” but possibly change their mind when they smell this. Very nice indeed.

Don’t think for a second that this is a dupe for Delina E. I mean, I guess I can sort of see how they sort of have the same vibe as they are both very rose forward and Carry kind of a sweet muskiness to them, but they’re just not the same. For the record, I love them Both but for very different reasons. Rose whip is absolutely stunning. It’s very warm and musky and spicy and subtly sweet. It’s also quite soapy. There’s something in the complete dry down that kind of reminds me of eggnog. To me it actually aligns more with for her musc noir rose. But it’s a bit more sweet. I freaking love it. I keep smelling my wrist every two minutes cause I love it so much. I’m trying to think of a proper occasion for this stuff..... rose Garden tea party maybe? A lunch date with all your besties in the fall? I don’t know. It doesn’t really seem like a date night or for the office frag. Phlur is notorious for having crappy longevity and projection. But this one is pretty decent I’d say. I get a solid three hours out of it. And I get wafts of it every now and then so I think the projection is pretty good. overall, 9/10

LOVE this. This rose is strong and bubbly but tempered by the cashmerian wood, musk and amber. (I'm a STELLA ride or die girl so you know i like my roses, big, bouncy and jammy. This is not that BUT it has a similar vibrance & peppery kick enhanced with blackcurrant & nutmeg.) The sillage is strong - my partner hunted me down through the house to ask if i had lit a new candle, then demanded i list all notes til he could identify what he was smelling. (I think it was nutmeg?) 24 hours later after a shower it's still detectable on my skin as a light powdery rose with musk and amber. My partner said it reminded me of his grandma in that she wore rose powder. I'm not normally big on musk but this is not overpowering - somehow at all stages it is neither too musky or too powdery. It is as close to perfect as I have found for me. A-men.

It’s rare that I find a rose fragrance that I love this much! I’m usually a vanilla gourmand lover. I’m so surprised to see people comparing this to Delina. To me the pink pepper and nutmeg make it so much more interesting and seductive than Delina. It’s not the most unique smelling fruity rose but to me it’s the best smelling one. Starts off fruity and bright. Turns warm, sweet and jammy at the dry down. I can’t tell if it’s the pepper or osmanthus that sticks around and keeps the fragrance exciting rather than turning into a basic sweet rose scent. Longevity is 6+ hours on me. Projection is great up until the 4th hour after that it’s more intimate. I have a travel size and debating getting a full size once it’s done. An absolute love!

Hmm, this one has everything I love in Commodity's Gold + and none of the staying power. At least not to my nose. I agree with others that the opening notes are kind of fizzy, fun, but a touch chemically for literally a minute or two, until the fizz settles. Then it's literally beautiful. The Osmanthus brings a lactonic, almost whip creamy (without the sweet) smell - I remember making home made whip cream any time we had guests, that fresh -whipped creamy, lactonic, somehow smooth-creamy-sweet smell. But, then...where does the fragrance go? It's a fun comb of notes that works but I'm either anosmic to it or...I just prefer something that lasts longer. *note: if you spray it on your clothes that 'sparkly' opening lasts a long time!

The sample bottles I tried had a distinct peppery opening that nipped at the inside of your nose. I can't seem to get any pepper from the travel size spray I bought, which is a little disappointing and makes me think the "whip" part of Rose Whip is more akin to whipped cream instead of flagellation, but it's still a lovely fragrance. Rose Whip goes from a soft, sweet rose to an even softer and sweeter musk that teases the line between floral and gourmand on my skin. An addendum: Rose has never been an "old lady" scent to me. My grandma's signature perfume was Angel by Mugler, so go figure.

A great surprise. I wasn't expecting to like this fragrance, but I do! She's such a sweet, yet spicy 'jammy' rose. She's playful and flirty but not 'childish ', or ' mature'. A great balance of the two. Just the right amount of sweetness for me. I have Delina La Rosee and they are 'kin' but not twins, maybe cousins tmn. La Rosee is an aquatic rose tmn. Rose Era is another 'kinfolk', she could be a sister. But she comes off sweeter and a lighter rose. Layered together they are beautiful. I will add Rose Whip to my fragrance wardrobe in the near future. Perfect for Fall to me.

I got this as a sample from Sephora. This dries down musky/woody that means more male and I love it. I’m not a rose lover as I feel they smell old lady and this isnt that girl. I’ve been wearing this for 4 hours and it’s still STRONG (to the point I wish I sprayed less because I’m giving myself a headache). Not sure why people are saying it doesn’t last because it’s lasting on my sweatshirt currently. I really really enjoy this. It’s not like anything I have and I think I need a full bottle if anyone hates theirs and wants to get rid of it :)

I would wear the is perfume every single day for any occasion, but on me, the longevity is HORRENDOUS. I don’t understand why Phlur fragrances have such bad longevity. I get about an hour of scent and then nothing. It has the Phlur musky DNA that is so comforting. It’s a gorgeous, jammy rose with that cozy musky base and is so beautiful but I really wish it lasted longer. I only have a small size now and would purchase the full size in a heartbeat if only it lasted longer. I have to douse myself just to get a little scent. Tragic!!!

This scent is sexy and seductive but also classy and intelligent. This scent is not for the girls. Picture a woman with in a black cocktail dress, black heels and a wine red lipstick. This is by far the sexiest perfume I've ever smelled and it low key makes me wanna do it with a man in Armani suit. Rose forward with a heavy undertone of amber, wood, and cashmere. A little spicy in the opening. It's literally sex in a bottle.

This is a very juicy rose scent with musky, spicy undertones. Feels very sultry and sexy without being too dark. The rose harmonizes really well with the other notes instead of veering into old lady-territory, like many other rose scents do. I didn’t detect the leathery base. Perfect for a date night or any other time you want to feel desired. I really hope Phlur releases a shower gel version of this scent 🤞🏻

The opening is a sweet, spicy, fruity rose which dries down to an earthy, jammy, musky note. Reasonably long lasting on me for a Phlur fragrance. I get the comparison to Delina and as I’m not a fan of the sharp rhubarb note in Delina I definitely prefer the warmth and spice of Rose Whip. I love it more every time I wear it - i have a travel size and will be getting the full size now.

Someone on IG recommended this fragrance, I tried it the other day and couldn't stop thinking about it. I went to the store today and bought a travel size. It is a beautiful rose, modern, bright and uplifting. It is a fruity jammy rose with musk. I enjoy it more the more I wear it. It is more suited for colder months, but can also be worn in the evenings during summer.

This is a warm Rose fragrance. It's spicy, almost oriental. The woodsy notes, make this perfume more sophisticated than just a plain classic aquatic or powdery rose. It does have a powdery aspect to it but then it fades into a sweetness. Not sure where the sweetness comes from. I can also smell and feel a leather component. I like it, I will wear it on colder days.

The BEST modern rose perfume hands down. This strikes a great balance between Lush’s Rose Jam and Kayali’s fleur majesty. It’s a beautiful jammy rose with a hint of dark intrigue. I think Phlur was trying to invoke the image of a whip made with rose thorns: a little sexy, a little edgy. Beautiful to wear on a night out or even for daytime. Very versatile scent.

I look forward to trying this. I have 3 other Phlur fragrances and I have been pleasantly surprised by their sillage and longevity on me. I have bought far more expensive fragrances that disappear very quickly. I understand that their fragrances do not break the mould in any way but I enjoy them for what they are - uncomplicated and long lasting on me.

love this! I’m not a rose scent girl, but I love a rosewater/pure light rose scent. I can’t stand how so many rose scents have such a large citrus note... this one’s lovely if you want a lightly sugared jammy rose water. I expected to just smell it- but I fell in love & had to buy immediately, I mixed it with tihota and i’m OBSESSED

Do I think this smells like roses at all? No. Did I forget that I sprayed it on my arm at Sephora, then come home and keep catching whiffs of a delightful sparkling floral-fruity-ambery scent while I cleaned my kitchen? Yes. Am I going to go back to Sephora later and buy it? Also yes.

Beautiful , didn’t enjoy initial first spray but dry down is stunning. This perfume also was still present on my skin hours later. I can’t stop sniffing my arm , I’m not usually a fan of rose dominant scents but this is done well it’s blended well and smells creamy and smooth.

Straight out the bottle, this scent had me gasping the first try, from how gorgeous it is. I'm so sad that it dries down to a more subtle, more generic rose scent. I think this is the biggest difference between initial spray and dried down, I have experienced in a perfume.

I recently fell in love with Atomic rose by Initio which is $300+. Rose Whip is her younger sister. Definitely not a dupe but a more affordable option if you love rose. This one is a lot sweeter and more playful than Atomic Rose. This is an underrated Phlur for sure.

Imagine a rose wearing lingerie. My immediate reaction was "oh my god this smells like turkish delight" sweet rosey with a slight kick of spice. Dries down to a mellow woody rose. Really liked this. Smells sexy and fun

I'm in love with Phlur Rose Whip. It smells like rose gelato with whipped cream, but with the warmth of osmanthus & nutmeg. Never thought I'd love a floral gourmand the way I love this one, but here I am. LOVE.

The scent that made me rethink everything I previously thought (I disliked) about rose fragrances! The black currant, woodsy-amber, and pepper notes blend and balance so well together with the rose-cashmere.

The opening is absolutely magical. Sadly the dry down is way more weak on me and disappears after a few hours. -Which is actually great because then I can freshen up and experience the opening again.

Oh I love her. Such a beautiful deep and elegant voice rose that’s also a little sexy with the nutmeg and cashmere wood. Highly debating buying her for a spring special event/ going out fragrance.

This is a delicious, juicy, edible rose (reminding me of Rose Jam by Lush!), with a spicy, musky kick! An interesting composition with more power than many other Phlur fragrances.

This is so dark and sexy...totally unexpected from Phlur! It's slightly floral and sweet, but with deep amber. Date night, summer night vibes. This is so beautiful.

I have been looking for this scent for so long. Not powdery enough to be “elderly” yet not too young and sweet thanks to the balance of wood, amber and musk

This is so nice. Juicy, soft rose. Nothing unique but very pretty. Longevity is not good, this is only minus.

If Rose Whip has no fans then I am dead

I got a sample set mostly for their other scents but I felt like trying something different today, so I casually sprayed on some Rose Whip. It’s not at all like anything I would normally wear, but I actually quite like it. Its opening smells a lot like what I assume most people associate with “grandma smell,” perhaps a tad bathroom-air-freshener to me. After a few moments, I grabbed the package to look at the notes because it became a bit jammy and sparkly, which intrigued me. It started to warm up a good bit as well. Upon examining its contents, it started to make sense. I’ve been liking black currant lately, but my everyday reach is almost always something musky, ambery, and/or woody. I do also enjoy a sprinkle of spice here and there. The early dry down is a pink pepper/black currant/cashmere wood/musk with a rosy polish on me. The nutmeg is just barely perceptible, but I can tell it’s there. The amber brings a warm sweetness rather than a nauseating one. It makes me feel feminine—a feeling that I don’t usually lean into, but am not opposed to exploring. As it starts to warm up to me, it comes across as a thick, musky, peppery black current with a splash of rose water and the *tiniest* sprinkle of nutmeg lurking in the background. Like a warm fruit tart sweetened with rose water syrup with a nutmeg crust. All that’s missing is a scoop of vanilla ice cream! I wouldn’t call this a gourmand though, it’s definitely more fruity floral with pizazz. Then about 3 hours in, the black currant and spice fade out and it settles down to a lovely amber and musk with a tinge of rose/currant. I love it. I can’t speak to longevity or sillage as I only applied one spritz on my hand, but I did enjoy it a lot. I’d get wafts of it and it’s a welcome surprise every time I catch it from my movement in the air. I think it might be too overwhelming in the summer, but I’ll have to test it out. I like it on this 50-55(F) degree Sunday evening at home, though. I feel like I’m smelling something from the mid-19th century. Rose water (scent) and (culinary/medicinal) black currant were both quite popular in the early 1800s. That is, before rose/rose water was replaced by vanilla as the popular scent, and black currant was banned in the US due to its threat to the white pines. By no means does it smell “old,” but it smells like something from another time, in a good way.

Very pretty. NOT a delina dupe, but it does have similar vibes (fruity rose). It's a jammy rose, not a photorealistic one and the rose is very present and forward on first spray but the rose fades on the dry down and leaves more of a fruity musky scent. It's very pretty and if you're looking for something in the delina family (again, this is NOT a dupe, it's just in the same family), I think this is a good alternative. I think it's also nicer than delina if you disliked it because of the sour notes from rhubarb. If you love rose and fruity scents, I think it's also different enough from delina that you could own a bottle as well. This is a beautiful, inoffensive scent. Smells very grown up. I think if you love gourmands but need something more professional, this could be a good option since the sweetness and fruitiness is very present but not overpowering; this is good in the same way asian sweets/desserts are delicious because they're "not too sweet". It's definitely not a head turner or anything special but not everything has to be unique. It smells like a grown woman (but still young) that has her shit together; she's had her own place and a job in her industry for 5-10+ years and she's been in love and broken up with someone even though nothing was wrong and simply because they grew into different people. Smells like someone I would take life advice from.

Rose Whip opens with an intriguing, almost juicy burst of blackcurrant that initially carries a sharp, nearly alcoholic edge before settling into an inviting sweetness. Within the first five minutes, the pink peppercorn makes a clear entrance, blending beautifully with the fruit to create a sweet but peppery introduction. As the fragrance evolves, it changes into a much warmer and spicier territory than you might expect from the name (i didnt get much rose). The nutmeg adds a distinct kick, while the osmanthus provides an apricot like fruitiness that eventually transitions into a smooth, slightly milky woodiness. Interestingly, the rose remains subtle on the skin, acting more as a sweetener than a main note. The dry down is where the fragrance becomes truly cozy, settling into a sweet amber and musky base that is incredibly comforting. I believe the sweet dry down can be contributed to the rose! Overall enjoyable!

This one starts off very peppery. I don’t know why exactly but it has a similar vibe to Givenchy L’Inderdit. I didn’t get much in the way of heart notes, but it dried down to a pretty, soapy rose that I quite like. Not one of my top faves but I’ll probably wear it on days I want something a bit quieter. One thing to note is that the longevity isn’t great. If I put my nose right to my skin I can smell it six hours later but it’s very faint, and the sillage in general isn’t strong.

I was sleeping on this one. It's freaking sexy. I felt that my collection was lacking a good rose perfume so this is what I went with since Phlur can (almost) do no wrong in my eyes (we won't talk about Heavy Cream and Not Your Baby haha). This is by the same perfumer that did Missing Person. She seems to be good at musky scents. This is a musky, jammy, spiced rose. It's not an old lady rose at all. I think I'll have to upgrade my travel size to a full bottle once I finish it!

As someone newer to fragrances, I thought I hated rose scents. This isn't AMAZING to me or anything but I expected to hate it, and it's actually kinda nice. It's a simple but nice and fresh scent. I didn't realize there was pink pepper until seeing the notes here, but that makes sense actually. I don't know if I would buy this fragrance necessarily, though if I had it I could see myself wearing it from time to time. Now I'm curious about other rose perfumes

Gentle and feminine scent. It smells kinda alcoholic on the initial spray, but that fortunately fades pretty fast. The rose scent is quite nice but unfortunately only lasts an hour or two. the sweet musky scent it leaves behind lasts much longer and is very pleasant. My mom thinks it smells like "good cigarettes" but I don't get that at all. Only major downside for me is the opaque bottle, I don't like not knowing how much I have left!

Rose, amber & pink pepper with a very faint hint of musk. Smooth, fluffy, rose, slightly-sweet and ambery. All well-balanced but not well-blended, I could clearly distinguish the rose and amber. I have encountered this same scent composition but with a sharper tone and a lot weaker sillage/ longevity at Lattafa - Mohra silky rose, safe to say this is a much better version.

In the opening and first hour or so of wearing this it smells very much like the original Lush Rose Jam Bubbleroon to me. If you enjoyed that scent family, you'll probably enjoy this one. It's a sweetened rose which mellows out to a lightly spiced rose incense that manages not to go too churchy. It's pleasant, but could potentially be a bit sickly in very hot weather.

She's OK. This is a clean musky rose, with a bit of spice. Rose Whip has been compared to both PDM Delina and IP Atomic Rose. And I have to say that it doesn't smell like either. Both Atomic Rose and Delina project more, have a juicier bite with their pink pepper note, and . It's not a bad scent, but not a standout rose either. This one is an easy reach. 6/10

I really enjoy the opening of this! It's similar to Delina but juicier? However, I was so disappointed in the drydown, it seemed to disappear so quickly on me! But maybe it's still too cold out? (around freezing still where I am) If it lasted better I would have bought it, le sigh. Still worth trying if you like rose, maybe my skin just eats up fragrance!

A nice, sweet and spicy rose smell. I'm noticing that Phlur perfumes definitely have the tendency to irritate my throat so anyone else with similar sensitivities might struggle with them. It's a really lovely smell, just a little plain for me - nothing all that special about it. Anyone looking for a super neutral, floral perfume, this is a good shout!

I was given the Phlur "Discovery set" from a friend, and Rose Whip is one of the fragrances in it. It's really nice, but it smells (on me) incredibly similar to Snif Rose Era, Lattafa Noble Blush, Mancera Roses Vanille and Zara Rose Gourmand. Rose Gourmand lasts the longest on me.

VERY pleasant scent, but not sure about the performance. I haven't tested a lot of the Phlur fragrances on skin & clothes, but in my limited experience, Phlur perfumes perform poorly. There are other rose perfumes and scented body lotions that are more worth the cost IMO.

Pure bliss in a bottle. It smells like a spring afternoon at the Huntington rose pavilion, specifically tea time with black currant honey jam and fresh scones. It’s much sweeter than TF Rose Prick, giving it a playful, wearable energy that’s perfect for a younger crowd.

As someone else reviewed, they nailed it right on the head. Rose Whip is just your basic rose perfume. It didn't wow me or blow me away, as it's literally just every other rose on the market.

The first time I smelled this I remember liking it a lot - it smelled like pink rose jam. When I smelled this a month later, it was very meh. Nice, but not intriguing enough to purchase.

Delina exclusif is the oldest sibling, delina original is the youngest sibling, and rose whip is the middle child. You’ll see what I mean when you try it. Not mad at it!
