Soft Spot

Soft Spot opens sweet, soft and fluffy. It’s a delicate fruity floral with subtle hints of bergamot & fresh orange but nothing loud or obvious, more indistinguishable, well blended notes with a hint of coconut milk. After five minutes, the sweet fruitiness settles. It becomes a very gentle, ever so slightly woody vanilla floral. Not a warm sensual vanilla bean or a baked goods vanilla. With the vanilla orchid mixed with the water lily, it’s almost like the vanilla whiff of a vanilla ice cream. It’s cool and a little bright but still remains comforting and cozy. The jasmine here is very gentle. It’s dries down to a beautiful dreamy, creamy, ambery, cozy and fuzzy hug. A gentle breeze of flowers on a solar wind whilst being smothered in shea and cacao body butter. Soft Spot might fall into the ‘your skin but better’ category but I find it’s projection perfect for the scent - two sprays and I’m enveloped in a cozy scent bubble of fluffy clouds. About 5 hours later it has dissipated, but Phlur’s distinct DNA is there on my skin, like a whisper of Missing Person. I really enjoyed this. It’s like a Vanilla Skin for non-vanilla lovers. Soft Spot is a perfect bedtime scent or for cozying up on the sofa, post shower, fresh PJs and a good Netflix series.

This scent doesn’t get enough love. I’ve been wanting to review it for a while now since it was love at first sniff once I finally got to try it in-store last year. However, It’s honestly a bit difficult to describe. When I spray it, I get amber and musk above everything else, with vanilla orchid, sandalwood, and white florals as the supporting characters [in that order]. I’ve heard it described as slightly tropical. Others say it pulls grandma-ish. I don’t get either of those things. To me, it feels like a soft, sophisticated, skin scent with just a hint of floral sweetness. It’s super clean and warm, like a fluffy blanket fresh out of the dryer. Basically, it’s just lovely. If you’re like me and found that Missing Person gave more “toenail” vibes than soft skin scent, give this one a try. It’s not a sillage powerhouse, and the wear time is in the 5 - 6 hour range, making it a good choice for people who want to feel clean and cozy without announcing themselves before they’ve even walked into the room.

The initial spray is a burst of bright, citrusy sunshine - the bergamot and mandarin are definitely the stars of the show. It's refreshing and uplifting, perfect for a morning pick-me-up. As the fragrance settles, the floral heart takes center stage. It's a delicate blend that's not overpowering at all. The waterlily note adds a cool, lighter feel, while the jasmine and freesia lend a feminine touch. It's a lovely, airy floral. The drydown is where Soft Spot really shines for me. The amber and musk create a warm, cozy base that's sensual and inviting without being overpowering. My wife has gotten compliments on it, and it seems to last a decent amount of time. It's definitely more of a subtle, skin scent than a bold statement, but I personally love that about it.

soft spot is a very comfortable fragrance. its white floral with ever so slight citrus on top, shadowed by a creamy musk. its a more feminine version of phlur's father figure, in my opinion. this scent is very inoffensive and sits very close to the skin, so if youre expecting good projection, it wouldnt be my first pick. despite this, its a great day-to-day "i dont know what to wear so ill wear this" fragrance. it's one of those scents that cant be placed, it just smells GOOD. soft spot works incredibly well for any season and any time of day, with the citrus complimenting daytime sunshine and the white florals and musk bringing a subtle complexity during the night. 100% would recommend if youre searching for a slightly powdery white floral fragrance!

Phlur Soft Spot reminds me of something I smelled often as a little kid, like my mom's shampoo. I think it's the water lily and vanilla orchid combo. At the same time, it reminds me of that mall in Baltimore before everything changed, when the arcades shuttered and people stopped living in real time, choosing the Internet over in-person interaction. I teared up because it took me back to neon lights and rollerskating, fireworks were still exciting and there were still lightning bugs in the bushes on the way home. As the initial spray dried down, I was simultaneously in September 1987 & March 2001...wondering if I could ever go home again. I will buy the full sized bottle.

Just when I finally settled on Extradose as my favorite Valentino Donna Born in Roma flanker, and was prepared to add it to my Full Bottle Wishlist: I sampled this. The dry down brings Extradose to mind. It smells just like a combination of Extradose and Juliette Has A Gun Musc Invisible to me. Soft Spot’s the one I can’t get out of my head. On me, it is the softest, smoothest, most cocooning, comforting, soothing, enveloping, addicting, intoxicating veil of aromatherapy. A warm, creamy, slightly sweet blend of subtle citrus, florals, and velvety musk. Sultry, cozy, romantic, and lovely. Enjoyed it clinging to my jacket for days. So taken by it. First Place easy-reach.

This reminds me of Ariana Grande Cloud not because of similar notes, but because both fall into the same categories of soft, sweet, “fluffy” scents. There’s something very comforting and pleasant about this, without it being overly cloying or immature. It’s very clean but in these sense of clean skin, and when I tried it in store even before reading the copy I was struck by just how much this evokes the smell of a lover’s neck. For that reason alone I couldn’t stop thinking about it until I bought a full bottle, and I love how there’s enough light florals and creamy sandalwood to balance out the vanilla enough for wearing even on hot summer days.

This perfume is so pretty but also hard to explain I typically like gormands and fruity and dislike powder/musks and ouds so I really wasn't sure if I would like this because of the musks but I wanted to try it because of the vanilla but so far this is my favorite Phlur fragrance BY FAR. It is very powdery at first like loves baby soft BUT then it drys down into a creamy Sandalwoody vanilla I definitely get what people mean by balmy or beachy and how they wished or expected this to be how missing person smelled because this feels like a your skin but better it's warm sensual and sweet, It's so gorgeous.

Within the first five minutes, I immediately got a lovely powdery scent from the freesia, along with a honeyed note (probably from manderine) which was very prominent on my skin. The two citrus notes add a fresh, bright vibe. I also caught a whiff of vanilla orchid, which gives it a delightful gourmand edge. Surprisingly, the water lily adds an unexpected aquatic element that I really enjoy. Because I tend to pull out vanilla notes, the vanilla orchid really shined on me. The final dry-down is a sweet, delectable vanilla with a tinge of saltiness from the water lily. It is truly sultry and fun

I blind ordered a FB during Sephora's current sale, and my eyes lit up upon first sniff. Soft Spot is somehow polished and cozy at the same time. The white florals are dainty and airy without verging into laundry detergent territory. This perfume also seems to last and have decent projection, unlike many of Phlur's other offerings. I honestly don't have anything else in my collection that reminds me of Soft Spot. It's not quite a skin scent nor a clean girl scent IMO, so I find it rather unique for what it is. It's *probably* a safe blind buy if you're a fan of most of the listed notes. :)

Soft Spot and Missing Person feel like emotional opposites despite sharing a similar DNA. Soft Spot is bright, clean, and comforting. Like freshly washed sheets after a shower, wrapped up with the person you love. Missing Person feels like those same sheets after they've left. It's quieter, more melancholic, like catching the lingering scent of someone you miss. Neither fragrance is wrong; they just tell completely different emotional stories. I discovered that I'm drawn much more to the feeling of presence than absence, which is why Soft Spot instantly became my favorite of the two.

I love how bright and floral /citrus fresh this is on first spray... The freesia and bergamot are warmed by the base notes while the vanilla orchid and water lily make this a warm, sexy, skin close scent. I've found that vegan fragrances don't have a lot of longevity, but I can still smell this on my skin hours later. I wasn't sure if I'd like this, so I bought a travel size on Mercari. A week later, I bought a full size, also on Mercari. I wear it every day. My favorite fragrance is true star by Tommy Hilfiger, pure paradise by B&bw, and mood ring by phlur.

I'm honestly surprised how much I like this one! I'm not usually a musky your-skin-but-better person but recently I've been wanting something more subtle for the summer months. I'm seeing comparisons to Burberry Goddess and Replica's Beach Walk, both of which I own and enjoy, so I can understand why it's pleasant to my nose. This is lightly woody and sweet and also has a hint of a coconut/sunscreen vibe but its not bothersome at all. This is the first Phlur fragrance I've liked enough to buy.

I absolutely can't stand powdery or like "just kinda fresh and clean" scents but WHY is this drydown is so addictive!? I can't stop smelling my wrist. What I see when I smell it ~20 mins after spraying: clean laundry hanging on a clothesline on a cool spring day, the breeze is carrying the scent of the detergent to you as you sit on grassy hill under a clear sky surrounded by delicate white flowers. Initial spray is a lot. The drydown is so intimate and soft and cozy. I love it.

I think this is lovely. To me missing person does smell like hugging a relative, which isn’t an unpleasant smell, but it’s not something I want to spray myself with. Soft spot also makes me think of a hug, but it’s more floral and a little sweeter than missing person. It’s very light and pretty. I find this lasts all day on skin, it’s lasted several days when sprayed on clothes, so I have no complaints about longevity.

When this scent was released I kept it on my radar and just smelled it today. These notes are divine. This fragrance is soft, warm, clean, white floral, cashmere sweater. Perfectly named. The opening is light, fresh yet still warm, not harsh at all. The dry down warms up a little more in my skin with the vanilla orchid, amber and sandalwood. I’m in love.

This is a really nice musky floral. It is light slightly powdery and a bit sweet. I really like this one for daytime and work. It lasts so long on my skin but is not overpowering and is pretty close to the skin. More powerful than Missing Person. I actually prefer this over Missing Person. It is one of my favorite from Phlur. Not very complex, but nice.

This is such a delicate musky flowery scent, but don’t get me wrong, it’s not ultra-feminine floral. It’s rather a warm hug that leaves a Jasmin after-scent. Perfect in every weather and season, and something I’d wear when I don’t know what to put. Pretty sexy, even though this is so versatile and intimate silage. Lasts pretty long on me, about 6h.

Where did the coconut scent even come from? Why does it smell like coconut?? I like this one a lot. I feel like it can be enjoyed by many, whether you're the wearer or the smeller. It almost has beach-y vibes, but not in a marine way, more in a relaxed sunbathing, sitting on a soft warm towel kind of way. Or like a hug. It's quite intimate.

wow finally something from phlur that i LOVE!!!! i liked father figure but not enough for a full size, hated missing person and strawberry letter, and was completely let down by mood ring. this fragrance is beautiful and cozy and full bottle worthy!!! for being a light fragrance the longevity is decent, i’m in LOVE solid 10/10 for me 🧸🤍

I'm so surprised by the variety of experiences in the comments. I personally liked the perfume a lot. It reminds me of walking into the room of someone I love-- musky, cozy, and warm. I wouldn't spend $100 on it, but I can't get it out of my head. It's so unique to anything that I've experienced before.

I LOVE this scent so so much to the point where I want this to be my new signature scent. However, I feel the performance is fairly weak, especially for the price point. If anyone has a suggestion for perfumes that smell like this but last longer and are cheaper, would be much appreciated <3

This perfume is a more cozy version of Twilight Woods by Bath & Body Works. I wish they would bring that fragrance back, it was a staple back in 2009 when it came out! If you miss that fragrance, I definitely recommend this one. It's more of a soft, spending the day in the house scent to me.

I initially purchased because it had a beach/sunscreen type of smell. As I’ve been wearing it reminds me of the smell of a baby doll, powdery and a bit plastic-y. I love this fragrance so much, however it doesn’t last nearly as long as I would like it to

For me, this is what people keep trying to convince me Warm Cashmere or Missing Person/Father Figure are supposed to smell like/make me feel. It's so comforting and cozy. I used up the sample so fast and just bought the full sized bottle.

Love the scent of this, it's so gentle ad comforting. Powdery, floral, musky. There's one downside though and that's the weak projection. You can barely smell it at arm's length and need to be fairly close to get a decent whiff.

This is just what I was looking for. Super soft and gentle. Its an easy reach and has just the perfect bit of sweetness. Its the kind of scent is just clean sweet skin. Not cloying and definitely not in your face.

Opens as a soft, sweet, fruity, floral deliciousness. Dries down to a sweet, warm, musky, comforting skin scent. I love it layered with Missing Person for bedtime or for cozy, romantic winter evenings.

I absolutely adore this scent! It’s a beautiful close to skin scent, but I will say I probably won’t repurchase just because the longevity is a bit lacking unfortunately.

Quite tropical. I loved the travel spray as a light and warm musky-floral-coconutty gym scent. Sadly my big bottle smells too strong now and triggered a migraine.

I wish this projected more because the smell is so good. You can pull off clean, cozy, and floral with this. Amber is just that guy

This reminds me of Sensuous Nude by Estée Lauder, which I love and it's discontinued, so I'm excited!

I think Soft Spot is a good option for those who were anosmic to Missing Person, also by Phlur. I still can't tell you what Missing Person smells like because it is indeed missing. If this is what I was missing out on, then I'm happy to finally understand the rave. I do understand Soft Spot is meant to be the sweeter and stronger version. I wouldn't call it sexy as advertised. More cozy. This smells like a clean baby wipe, sweetened aquatic floral musk, and a soft suede blended together. *After trying Missing Person again 2 months later, I can say it is smells purely like the intimate, aquatic, clean, baby wipe florals that freshen up Soft Spot, before it disappears within the hour on my skin. There is also another way I can describe Soft Spot. The aerosol white musk, that is present or hidden when it feels like, reminds me of Forvr Mood You Remind Me Of (lol) except it's sweetened by this powdery coconut milk. The fuzzy vanilla-suede dry-down of Byredo Animalique and dry-down vanilla of Burberry Goddess is here too but with the aquatic waterlily floral added. It's a good skin musk scent and is what I wanted JHAG Ode to Dullness to smell like. It's not beastly, but moderate on me. Like 4 good strong hours on skin, but around 6 on clothes. The heat brings it out on my skin. The juice is clear so it will not stain.

This didn't stand out to me on the tester, but I wore it out last night (I'm trying to use up all my Phlur Discovery Set minis) and I'm really taken by it. I don't detect any citrus topnotes; on my skin, it's ambery, musky, with a vanilla that's so soft, well-blended, and couched in florals that I don't associate it at all with the sweet gourmands that I avoid like the plague. It's not as powdery as Father Figure, nor as clean as Missing Person, and it's much warmer than either. The name is apt, because more than anything, this smells *soft*. It is not at all screechy, harsh, or bold. It's inviting and pleasant, quiet but long-lasting (I still smell it on the shirt from yesterday). I might have to buy a full bottle in preparation for autumn—I think this would be a beautifully cozy, relaxed fall scent. Smells like: Perfume left on a cashmere sweater.

There is a faint underline of Missing Person, but this is layered with more vanilla sweetness and white florals. More feminine. Also pretty generic. I agree with other reviewers that this is “office worker” vibe. This is stronger than missing person. And doesn’t have that interesting twist that missing person has. It kinda gives “all base notes” if you know what I mean. The scent doesn’t really change from first spray to fade down as a result (another point for generic, inoffensive office scent) However, I can see this being a really nice layering perfume that would make a masculine perfume more feminine without changing its notes too much. Or if you wanted to tone down a perfume that was too fruity, this would do the trick. *Edit: I just noticed there isn’t vanilla listed as a note, but there is and undeniable creamy vanilla base note in this.

This scent is definitely a “your skin but better” sort. There is a lot of powder in it, it matches that of “not your baby”. It also has a sweetness from the amber, an hint of wood from the sandalwood and white floral notes. In the background I can point out the orange as well. It gives me cozy going to bed vibes but it also smells quite clean and like something that could be worn during the day as well. It gives sophistication mixed with intimacy. Weirdly it does remind me a little of “Burberry Goddess” even though there isn’t a lot of vanilla or gourmand type of smell in it. I like this scent but I think the powder overtakes a lot of the notes that are there. If you do not like fragrances that are super musky and powdery then I don’t think you would like this one. This is one I am looking forward to spraying before bed tonight!

Sugary, petally, fleshy. Half skin scent, half candy floral. And something fruity – my first thought was apricot or peach gummies. Baby powder meets jelly babies. Imagine just showered-skin dried with orchid petals and powdered with sugar crystals. (I almost said “imagine if flowers had skin” but that's a bit macabre for such an adorable scent). I couldn’t wash Vanilla Skin off fast enough, but this I’ve been enjoying enough to mist on my pyjamas. Longevity is surprisingly good, too (~6h). Mental Snapshot: I’ve never had a My Little Pony but this is what I imagine one should smell like. Plastic and plush and pastel-coloured doll hair, all infused with a pinky blossom scent. Her name is Peachy Puff or Sugarmane. Her cutie mark is the Fr*grantica logo. tl;dr: doll skin 🌸🍼

I’ve been reading reviews for a long time. First time leaving one. Soft Spot is Not Your Baby, but without the overwhelming lactose note. That difference is measurable! I have every Phlur and some I love (somebody wood, Sandra, father figure), some I really like and only one I absolutely despise...and that’s Not Your Baby. I can’t make it work for me no matter what I do. It smells like a daycare center full of diapers to my nose. Soft Spot is what I wanted Not Your Baby to be. This isn’t the sensual skin scent I was expecting, but I have a feeling after letting this one rest for a while, it’ll be a very nice smooth scent that can be an easy after shower, bedtime and/or movie night pick. This is a slightly sweet skin scent, which isn’t too common for me to smell.

I do like this but to be warned it isn’t anything original it actually smells like a mix of a few perfumes. The musk from Missing person, Burberry goddess with an added beach-y coconut reminiscent of Replica beach walk. There’s no coconut listed but the jasmine is quite heady and I believe that combined with Water Lilly are adding a beach-y white floral touch to the fragrance. I did expect this to be a soft sexy skin scent but it’s actually very perfume-y to me. I think the marketing can be a little misleading on what to expect. it’s not that roll around in the bed, soft, I naturally smell amazing scent it’s actually a little more - dressy but casual, sunny day out, sort of fragrance. However it does smell beautiful.

To my nose, this is Flowerbomb's little sister. A softer Flowerbomb, but definitely a flanker. It makes sense since they have similar notes in their profiles. Soft Spot plays up the musk in its base, while FB's base balances musk with patchouli. Different from many of Phlur's fragrances, this one doesn't swiftly disappear. It does dry down and soften relatively quickly, but it's still present. The projection is a decent arm's length for 1-2 hours. The profile doesn't change much as it dries down, but it does become a skin scent after those 1-2 hours. I think it's lovely.

Everyone needs a scent like this in their collection. A clean feminine neutral. Smells a little different on everyone as it dries, but overall very inoffensive and kind. But the biggest reason why I have this in my collection is to layer. If you need something to make a unisex fragrance more feminine, this is your girl. It doesn’t take over your original fragrance. It’s blended round and smooth enough to add femininity without sharp floral or gourmand or soap or molecular notes. Like adding a little bit of soft lace to a worn table.

Feels like the perfect scent to wear after a shower during a Summer evening. Makes me want to put on a nice dress and go to a beach club. Nice white floral, I smelled it on paper and immediately loved it. I don’t love it quite as much on my skin and it doesn’t last a long time, but may be a good thing because I headaches at stronger florals. Feels comforting and sexy, but not a scent profile I would regularly reach for in my day to day. I think I will be reaching for this a lot more in the Spring and Summer.

Cozy, musky, beautiful skin scent. I'm beginning to develop an appreciation for white florals, and this, to me, is such a mild and soft gateway into those notes for people like me who normally wouldn't like them. It's neither underwhelming, nor overwhelming. It's not a stand out, but it doesn't shrink in the corner either. Soft Spot is well balanced and a solid addition to my perfume collection.

very sweet floral, reminds me of Prada Paradoxe in some ways. not as smooth as the other Phlur fragrances I love, or as unique, but it's a nice soft, clean floral - I was hoping for more of the sandalwood, but that hasn't come out on my skin. this smells like the sweetest nicest girl you know who always has soft hair and decorates her laptop with cute stickers.

This is so similar to Father Figure without the green note of fig. Same warmth, same bright opening, same woody/ powdery dry down. I do like it, but I like Father Figure better. It's a cozy scent without being gourmand, I'll be reaching for it a a lot to layer with heavier floral scents, it is quite grounding.

I like this, but I don’t wear it often. It’s like Missing Person’s fresher cousin. It’s a skin scent, has some coziness to it, is soft and inoffensive. It smells like flowers and musk. The musk is my favorite part. It’s classy without being pretentious. Grab a sample over a blind buy.

Spicy Father Figure or 22 Orris! Not pepper spicy, but a touch of pumpkin spice. Soft and cozy, but she's a confident lady. The bottle color is quite fitting- there's a beige cashmere sweater vibe to it :) Super versatile for all seasons, from office to date nights...I'm a fan!
