Besame Mucho

WOW! what an opening. Tobacco and cacao with such a smooth, creamy woody vibe. I don't sense too much tonka, as tonka sweetness immediately gives me a headache. The opening is beautiful. I also sense soil tincture, which I love in fragrances. I will have to revisit this fragrance in terms on longevity and drydown, but my initial impression was amazing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mr. Miami Cuddles

Phoebe Peacock is the name of the perfumer’s grandmother and the name of the Hollywood, California store where this small line of scents is sold. Bésame Mucho is the darkest of the three with vanilla, chocolate and sandalwood forward. Oud is mixed with a light touch, and it’s what gives this scent performance: about 4 hours on my dry skin before turning into a skin scent. The end results is a creamy, sweetened cocoa powder effect that stays linear from start to finish. This won’t win any originality awards, as there are many others in the crowded chocolate gourmand field, and with similarities shared by my favorites: Atelier’s Cafe Tuberosa and 4160’s Over the Chocolate Shop (but differing and more complex with the addition of a coffee note). Still, Bésame Mucho is benign and pleasant enough that I’m enjoying my decant. Side note: with cheesy lines like “....this scent might get you a date!”, the brand might want to consider hiring a better copywriter.

On my skin its mostly patchouli, with touches of chocolate and vanilla. I like the fragrance but it also kind of reminds me of a candle scent, and at times it can smell kind of synthetic or like a crayon or something.

This is a very interesting combo of dark vanilla chocolate and green patchouli leaf. The patchouli is the most dominant and most intense note for me. It's definitely slightly overpowering. The dry-down is a musky floral tobacco with notes of sweet vanilla. Patchouli gradually disappears and drydowns into a softer base. Because patchouli is not my favorite note, this perfume is complex and is hard for me to invest into. I do like the fact that chocolate here is not sweet, nor is it gourmand. This chocolate is just dark and that is it. It's definitely unique, and is not tooth-rotting sweet, which I like.

I have a sample of this, and have only smelled it sprayed on a paper so far. Sniffing without seeing any of the notes, my brain said it smelled like powdery notes and coconut.
