Surinam Vert

After trying SIAM 1928's Sandport, I went on a wild search for something similar that would work for me. What I LOVED about Sandport is the bright passionfruit and citrus mixed so beautifully with those fresh and green hops, patchouli, and cannabis. And I loved how the cannabis made the scent so funky and dank - how incredibly unique! Unfortunately it smells too dank on me - my skin just doesn't work with it. So I started doing a ton of research for something similar, and bless the employees at ZGO, I kept going in asking for recommendations for something citrusy and dank. After several visits full of misses, as I was yet again describing what I was looking for to one of their wonderful staff members, another staff member who was nearby listening, wordless sprayed Surinam Vert on a test strip and handed it to me. Fireworks!!! Flashbulbs going off in my my mind!!! Was this finally it?! My Sandport? My dank, green, passionfruit explosion!? Yes it was. I wore the sample every day, becoming more and more obsessed, until it was gone and I rushed to ZGO to buy a full bottle. Surinam Vert strikes me as one of the most unique bottles in my collection. The blend of passionfruit and guava is so delicious and photorealistic, like there's a ripe guava, skin and all, cut open and sitting in the sun right in front of my nose. There is a damp greenness alongside the fruit that smells like being in a jungle, and a yellow flower note, the frangipani, that brings the slightest bit of indolic funk to the mix. But damn, the real star of the show, the note that brings this whole, vibrant, cacophony of fresh tropical scents together in the most unique and weird way... is that gasoline!!! What a weird and funky and truly perfect note!! What incredible harmony! To me, this fragrance is a perfect example of what I love about and where I try to find myself in niche perfumery: creative, unique, fun, masterfully composed scents that transport and delight and leave you smelling SO good but also unlike anyone else around. 10 out of 10!! Beautiful!

Surinam Vert is a deep jungle adventure. You are quickly thrown into this world, greeted with a powerful gasoline accord. This quickly fades as you focus on bright florals, paired with tropical fruits. These fruits and florals stay throughout the composition, you get more tropical and smoother florals as you begin to approach a wild, untamed botanical scent, there is a slight maturation, getting earthier, and herbaceous as you travel more. Realistic, and blown away. A signature scent for a daring soul. It is perfectly balanced, yet tells a complex story. Concept execution is superb. This easily becomes one of my favorite green, fruity fragrances. This takes a prize in my heart, from the captivating fruits and gasoline notes, down to the peaty earth, this perfume is a true dive into Surinam’s rich vegetation. Performance is surprisingly great considering it’s scent profile. I found this lingering on skin for up to 9 hours. The projection is otherworldly, I found this filling up a room for up to 6 hours. It really captivates the the personality of a jungle adventure. Wearability is somewhat challenging but gorgeous. In itself, the fragrance has traditionally respected notes. I believe it does serve well as a daily perfume, there is great harmony and evolution throughout a wear. I found this easy to pull off, and fun, as most perfumes from this house. Value for a full sized bottle is very good. $195/50ml is beyond fair. This perfume house’s artistry is yet to be matched. You will get value for every spritz, this perfume can transform your mood, and atmosphere. Final Verdict, 5/5 perfume. The only downside to this is the need to sample before buying a bottle, there is nothing off-putting about this fragrance, besides the gasoline note which might bother some, it’s a nose tickler, but to me it’s part of the fun. I recommend this to those who are itching to try a tropical, damp, and green scent which I think is never or rarely done.

Surinam Vert is pretty much a travel experience. It immediately transports you to a lush, tropical landscape. The opening notes are an unexpected mix of sweet and tangy fruits - passionfruit and guava totally come thru, and with a hint of something almost... industrial? It's bizarrely captivating, and the sharp tang of it actually lifts the tropical fruits to a new height. As the fragrance settles, it transforms into a beautiful cloud of floral and earthy notes. It feels like being in a rainforest, though I've never actually been. Certainly, you can practically feel the humidity in the air, and the sweet scent of exotic flowers mingling with the earthiness of damp jungle floor foliage begin peeking thru. And just when you think you've got it figured out, it surprises you with a hint of spice and musk! For my skin, its totally changing over the day and esp in the heat, this one keeps you on your toes. If you're looking for a scent that's both exotic and sophisticated, I think this is a must-try. Never smelled anything like it, def unique.

Vegetation, eucalyptus, and melons rise up with the first spray of this scent. It’s packed with ripeness and sunshine, like a brilliant morning. There’s an enchanting lightness to this extrait de parfum and brightens your smile by wearing it. But along with the sunshine, the heart notes bring out the depths of the South American jungle. There is a danger there among the thick growth and exploding flowers, and the scent makes you want to explore it. A wonderful new scent to add to my collection!

This is a gorgeous perfume. It opens up with a blast of sweet juicy fruits and honeyed florals almost giving a pink start burst vibe but with way more depth. Then some green and musky accords develop giving it a more jungle vibe. After about 6hrs it dries down into a more earthy and musky but still sweet scent. 100% recommend this to those looking for a sweet fruity summer scent that's still very unique

What id imagine an exotic and adventurous traveler smells like. Starts fruitily but with an edge. Nothing like blockade or pacific chill. This smells like a 3 month pack packing adventure through Indonesia or some other far flung locale where only the most avid globe trotters dare explore. Gives off a BO smell about a half hour in. So good. True to the house it paints quite the picture

Very unique imo, green sweet white florals with a huge amount of guava and some other fruits, and a very realistic gasoline note when it dries down also a little earthy.

Not sure why, but this reminds me of the happiness I felt when playing Lara Croft Tomb Raider III for hours as a kid.

I bought this perfume and Solar Wind from Pictura and had super high hopes for both. From the reviews I thought all of ther notes were super interesting. My fiance and I tried them, and of us did not like either one. I like all of the notes individually and thought the concepts are cool but just can't get behind wearing them. I will say that the smell last forever and has a long longevity, and as it dries down it's not as pungent. Over all just not for me but so many others seem to like it.

I’ve been hunting for a perfume that invokes the same smell from my childhood of visiting the butterfly habitat at the science center and this fragrance is truly transportational, hits the nail on the head. I love the smell it gives of of an almost manufactured environment. It’s humid, and that moist warmth carries a beautiful scent of tropical flowers and rancid fruit. It’s beautifully balanced by the mineral and green qualities of the earth notes. Definitely need a full bottle!

Now, this is what I call unique. There's something incredibly nostalgic about this scent. It opens with a sweet and juicy passionfruit note, setting the stage for a beautifully blended composition. Every note works seamlessly together, creating a balanced and captivating experience. The gasoline note might be unexpected, but it's executed brilliantly, adding depth without overpowering the fragrance. This is easily one of my favorite green and fruity fragrances so far.

Fresh passion fruit & guava flesh, green plant stems & tropical florals in the background. A perfect balance of fruity sweetness, although something here did start to read a bit like sweat around an hour in. Overall though, still a nice tropical scent

Blast of passion fruit and green notes. I get a little bit of gasoline but it all works perfectly. I don’t like guava but I don’t get very much of it. Smells like you’re walking through a forest with a bunch of exotic fruits hanging off the trees.

This is so good at first. The guava makes itself so apparent. It is this tropic soda vibe. And then, on the dry down... it to me ends up giving a body odor vibe you might either hate or love.
