29 Itabaia

I really have no idea how Pierre Guillaume does it, but his perfumes are simply stunning. Itabaia is another phenomenal version of the exotic locked in a fragrance. It is enough to close your eyes and sink into the sound of the ocean waves, salty humidity from the ocean, warm sand and the seductive aromas of Caribbean drinks. Beautiful, simply beautiful and irresistible, awakening the desire for the moments we are waiting for - relaxation, freedom of mind, the possibility of creative thinking, away from the rush of worthless duties. It is the scent of freedom and peaceful life on a tropical island. The smell is juicy, grapefruit and passion fruit sprinkled with slightly powdery dry mimosa. This effect is remarkable, I have never known it in perfumes. Added to this is spicy hemp, not metallic, dirty, but like the complex smell of a spice bazaar. At times, the smell of crushed pineapple, so characteristic of exotic holidays, is striking from the depths. This fragrance is a journey we dream about, it is really worth devoting a lot of time to it. In my opinion, it is a universal perfume, definitely for everyone, no gender, no restrictions or classification.

I wore Creed Aventus on my wedding day back in summer 2016...soon as I smelt this 29 Itabaia Pierre Guillaume Paris, it took me straight back to that day.

The opening 10 minutes are rather nice, reminiscent of an 80s/90s freshie, but after that's gone all you're left with is this unpleasant hemp/cannabis note (which is way too similar to ambroxan...). Not a good experiment...

Oh, yikes. This is meant to be a younger take on fougère, but it still smells so overpowering and dusty. Nothing citrusy or bright about it. Easy pass!

Every PG with cannabis is ruined by it for me. It's strong and headache-inducing.

so strong on the initial spray, very men’s aftershave. the dry down is a simple floral with a little bit of vanilla. not getting any of the citrus or even hemp. i was expecting a fruity vanilla cocktail smell but this didn’t deliver. not a bad scent at all but just not very interesting & i wouldn’t say worth the price
