Dilshad 17.1

Made my stomach turn at the first spritz, but it is exactly what it says it is, lactonic. On my skin it's almost coconut-like, but on paper? Gone off vegan yoghurt... that gimmicky sweet-and-sour taste when you try a spoonful just to check and it cloys. On skin though I get an earthy pistachio and tuberose that I almost don't mind, I just can't imagine wearing it. Yet. Later, though, the lactonic note wears off, leaving something nuttier and muskier. On skin it turns almost sultry, which is genuinely annoying because the paper experience threw me off so much. 5/10

I am completely baffled by this fragrance. I’ve never met a pistachio fragrance that I liked, but I’ve never met a tuberose fragrance that I didn’t like. I can barely detect any two bows at all in the midst of this strong almond fragrance. There is definitely some green woody note going on that is not that pleasing. After the almond blast in the opening, I can start to detect some of tuberose coming to forefront. Its slightly reminiscent of Blanche Bete in the sense that it’s slightly lactonic but then it disappears as quickly as it started and I can’t smell anything but a very weak skin scent with my nose up on the skin. So promising for a moment.

Hmm, this one is strange. I very much like a lot of PG’s work, in fact some of his perfumes are in my top 10, so I ordered a tester of this. However I won’t be ordering more. The pistachio note at the start is very strong and it reminds made of stale potato chips. It does reduce a bit, but is always there and I really don’t like it. To my mind this needs something sweet to balance the note but there’s nothing there. This leans masculine and is not sweet at all. Ah well, you win some, you lose some.

I'm always stunned how PG can surf on trendy notes without loosing any originality. There's so much pistachios out there since the two last year, and I feel like they're all the same idea : sweet lactonic or ice creamy with much sandalwood. In fact, this represent only this synthetic edible pistachio cream : 20 % pistachio, 80%marzipan. This pistachio is something else. It's the true pistachio. It's salty and crunchy, never creamy for me. The tuberose makes it warm but not like a desert. It's almost bitter. As it dries down , the pistachio's coming in little waves. As it was turned into the shadow of the tuberose. It's so strange as a combination that it needs time to be understood IMHO. Still, I showed it to people who don't like "Niche" perfume and they liked it. It's I think the power of PG : original doesn't mean difficult to wear. I imagine this on a beautiful woman who doesn't need sweetness at all to be alluring. My sister wears it perfectly <3

First sniff after this arrived: I was really hopeful for this one, but there is a nauseating “green note” that I’ve found in other scents that I just can’t do. It’s separate from the tuberose, and looks to be unlisted. I will give this a few days to settle and try again (otherwise it’s on the chopping block). I’ll update when I do.
