Lune d'Eau

The notes given by Bloom, London, for this perfume are aquatic accord, juniper, mineral accord, and amyris. To my nose, the mineral accord lends an earthy undertone to the main notes of water and juniper. It really did make me think of a lake shore on a cold, frosty night. A very pleasant nocturnal winter aquatic, which on me lasted around 6 hours and had moderate sillage.

A casual, fresh, modern and relaxing scent. I love Amyris's note here, it's in the background but very present! The "frozen" note after a while gives space to the woodiness of the amyris, and the mineral notes predominate. A different and modern perfume! I like it! Sillage: 6.5/10 Longevity: 7./10 Scent: 8./10 Overall: 8./10

This amyris was a brilliant move, it makes this stand out among all aquatics I've smelled so far!

“Lune d’eau” est une Fougère Boisée. That's what it says on the official PG website. Is this a fougere? I think it starts off that way. I get lavender and patchouli, but could these be facets of amyris? The first 10-15 minutes are really exceptional in a very unusual way. It then becomes sweeter with amyris dominating, and to me it comes across as a friendly sibling to Zino. At drydown something new happens and it becomes one of the nicest freshest 'clean' scents, with a decent enough longevity. On the list.

I don’t see it listed, but the first note that came to mind upon smelling this was “pine,” which is a facet sometimes linked to Amyris. I also get green notes, a bark-like note, and mineralic qualities, underneath a fizzy opening. I like the stuff, however, my wife immediately gave me negative, unsolicited feedback when I was standing next to her, after initial application. To her, it smelt like “something fermenting in Pinesol.” Quite the glowing review....

I generally hate aquatics, but this is an unusual, fruity, cool, patchouli cocktail that kinda works for me. Masculine-leaning casual day scent for the summer IMO, despite the wintery name and marketing.

Lune d'Eau starts with an overpowering Davidoff Cool Water soapy opening of High Street man-smell. I think I can pick out bergamot, cedar or juniper, pine, geranium and ambroxan. Thankfully the fresh, blue shower gel bite softens and fades out in short order within about 40 minutes. And what are you left with? Amyris. Whatever I imagined in the opening, as it dries Lune d'Eau becomes more coniferous than aquatic-citrus-aromatic. It's a pleasant, cold, earthy but fresh pinewood smell, as though you'd spent a week outside foraging in one. It's a straightforward scent — from an hour in it's an amyris resin soliflore on skin — much quieter and more naturalistic than that misdirection in the beginning. And it's sneaked up on me, I'm taken with this cypressy, outdoorsy, damp but somehow uplifting autumn scent.

This was a blind buy. Big PG fan. This comes across as more of a sweet green petrichor scent. Maybe reminds me of walking through the jungle in Fiji after a rain covered in a not so strongly scented sun tan lotion in the higher up cooler rainforest. A creamy earthy sweet patchouli with a slight tinge of green earthen herbs like parsley and coriander covered over the top with a mineralic vibrancy. Sure the notes are as per the table but thats my impression up front. Nice scent, slightly left field. Not one of PGs strongest performers but if your bored and after an aquatic that’s different give it a go...

Such a wonderful, effervescent, sparkling open, then [wet fart noise] heavy shower gel, probably something with "men" and "sport" in the name. Wak wak waaaaaaa. It almost smells like a green fig scent, not unlike Versace Dylan Blue.

Handcream for young women. And not even a good one. Don't let the notes lead you to a blind buy, total waste of money for me.

Frosted lake with smart citrus opening Lune d'Eau opens with a three note accord of clorophyllic citrus and moss with faint patchouly to me. I find this citric note given by amyris very smart as it's made without the use of lemon or other fruits: amyris is a genus of flowering plants in the citrus family. The main core of the fragrance has some mossyness to it that plays a big part in transitioning to this icy, frosty nuance because the way this moss is performed is more mineral and can be linked with an idea of wet stone. I find the fragrance safe with enough artistic molding for the collection it belongs to and the context it aims at. The core can surely remind you of a designer fragrance but it has some amount of changes that make it work.
