Tubereuse Couture 17

Another Hawaii in a bottle perfume. It starts out as a strong tuberose, but very quickly the kalamansi kicks in. I really like the combo. The notes here are incorrect BTW. It doesn't contain orange, it contains kalamansi, an Asian citrus fruit that is used like lemon in Asian cuisine because it's very sour. I have a kalamansi tree in my yard. This perfume is not sour in any way, but the scent of kalamansi is very recognizable here if you look for it--that is impressive. This perfume reminds me of Byblos, except the citrus is much, much quieter, and the white flowers are magnified tenfold. My mom loves white flowers, so I dabbed this on her arm. I realized that when one smells this perfume on another person, it's linear. One would never notice the subtleties of kalamansi and sugarcane. It just smells like big, bold tuberose, but the sugar gets stronger as the perfume wears, and the intense scent of tuberose calms down. I'll say one thing: this smells real, not like that highly overrated Fracas.

A very green, almost camphoraceous tuberose startles on first spraying this perfume. It is a natural smell, but seems sharp and synthetic and intense. This quickly gives way to a bubblegum and melon confection created by ylang, cane sugar and benzoin. It sounds almost too sweet but somehow it manages not to be. The tuberose is still in the background, offering up a sharper green counterpoint to all the sweets, and the contrast is just plain delicious and arresting because it’s different. It feels very round, creamy and dense, almost cake like. Dessert like. Very different to the more typical heady lushness of many tuberose perfumes, which is often created by indoles which are noticeably absent or at least minimized here. After the first blast of almost chemical like intensity, Tubéreuse Couture becomes such a happy and feel good fragrance. Not glamorous or high maintenance as you might expect from a tuberose, but almost like a gourmand in its comforting deliciousness.

Sweeeeeeeet This is a super sweet, candied, tuberose-jasmine, that starts off significantly green and camphorous/mentholated. Once it dries down it gets even sweeter in a sugary sort of way and the green/menthol aspects dissipate a bit. It's outrageously trashy, candied and tropical. When I'm in this sort of mood, I absolutely LOVEEEE it. Longevity and sillage are exceptional. For a point of reference, it reminds me the most of other tuberose-white florals like Estee Lauder Tuberose Gardenia and Annick Goutal Songes edp -- but it's more sugar-candy than both of those. Heeley Bubblegum Chic is probably the closest, but I like this PG more. Warm, humid weather really makes this sing. Words that come to mind when wearing Tubereuse Couture: narcotic, fleshy, carmelized petals, island vacation, humid vegetation, dripping orgasmic floral syrup. FM Carnal Flower will always be the best green Tuberose but PG Tubereuse Couture is her fun and flirty friend.

A stunning, fierce and modern tuberose scent. A must try for tuberose lovers, this one can very well become one of your favourites. The top notes seem to lift off as a rocket heading for deep space. They are so hightuned, shiny and crazy that they remind me of fuel, gasolin, turpentine and laser beams. Still the top note smell really good, reminding of the top note in SLs Tuberose Criminelle, but more long lasting and ever brighter. After the piercing top note, tuberose rise from the surface together with soft, creamy spiciness and warmth. It slowly become an exotic, sunny and beautiful tuberose for beautiful women dressed in creme coloured silk. Smells exclusive, enlightened, strange and familiar at the same time. Good but not killing sillage, longlasting, pretty, creamy, caressing and comforting dry-down. Can be hard to wear if you ́re not in the right mood or situation, but when you nail it, you feel so comfy and elegant. Try it? Absolutly!

I love tuberose... any tuberose. So my review probably is not objective enough. Anyway in my opinion this one together with Carnal Flower by Frederic Malle is best tuberose fragrance ever made. I love its creaminess this kind of buttery or oily feeling which covering my body when I’m wearing it. I almost feel as fatty essential oils flow throughout my skin. The aura generated by TC is very pleasant and this effect lasts forever. I’m not able to find any sweetness in this fragrance; it is rather weep cream effect than any vanilla, sugar or tonka. The base is woody but still covered by tuberose. Woods are deep and mysterious and extremely cozy like pillows. I have no idea at all what kind of woods are used in TC but this is something similar to common Indian fragrances (may be sandal???). TC is made for tuberose lovers; if you don’t like this flower avoid the TC as a plaque because it can kill you after first sniff :-)

Was expressing my dissatisfaction with Tom Ford`s generic tuberose yesterday, and today I got something that made me an addict within seconds- Tubereuse Couture by Pierre Guillaume. Have to say that in 90% of cases Pierre Guillaume does not disappoint me- his layering and balancing skills are just Art. It`s a great feeling- knowing you`re getting quality that resonates with you before you even smell the new fragrance. It has an amazing and unexpected herbal opening- rosemary and light camphor quickly fly away and release the tasty ylang-ylang and the tuberose with a strong presence of warm vanilla, jasmin and orange blossom. I also feel hints of distant aldehydes and butter notes. The tuberose is not overpowering other ingredients (take notes, Tom Ford) , it creates waves of delicious warm floral magic. Warm, complex, feminine. Simply gorgeous.

I got to sample this thanks to a generous fragrantican. Thank you, Antonia! This is a tuberose lover's dream! A blast of opulent tuberose, almost a solinote, even though, strangely enough, it does something peculiar: it starts as a cold, glassy tuberose (actually, the opening reminds me of Bubblegum Chic minus the gas note) and it evolves into a warm, sweet, fruity tuberose (could be sugar-ylang ylang duo slowly warming up the composition). Sillage is A BOMB! I sprayed this on my mom's wrist once in a decently sized living room, went out, came back in after a few minutes...Tubereuse couture! It had filled the room with one spray. Longevity is respectable too. My advice this: spray this with a light hand and bask in its beauty.

gorgeous tuberose. It is definitely tuberose on the sweet hypnotic tropical side. However, the first spray there are a lot of green notes, with a strange vegetation, almost a thiol compound, but not quite (it is NOT camphorous or menthol whatsoever). Honestly, it was a bit off putting at first, grape like accord, but it quickly moves on within seconds of spraying, and the kind of sweet lush fleshy tuberose I like emerges. The scent goes a bit sweeter as it wears but in a natural way. I wouldn't call this a "beachy" scent, but it is definitely gorgeous like a tuberose lei straight from the tropics.

PG17 is the soft creamy tuberose with the hint of strawberry. It’s playful and gorgeous at the same time. The sillage and longevity of this fragrance is outstanding! It stays for very long time on my fingers even when I just touch the bottle for a few seconds. Tubereuse Couture is one of the best tuberoses in niche perfumery. It’s very natural but without sharp and bitter green notes in it. PG17 has a very special meaning for me. I wore it the day I make up with the man I love after the long time being apart. To me Tubereuse Couture means love and happiness. That’s why I wear it today.

Greenish medicinal white floral.... Fresh cut greeny white floral blend that consists of fresh jasmines, animalic tuberous, ylang, and sweet papyrus oranges. It is beautiful white floral that settles into slight animalic yet soft white floral. This reminds me allot of "Tubereuse Criminelle" by Serge Lutens at first spray but softer and more delicate yet elegant than "Tubereuse Criminelle", the calmer it goes, the softer & more delicate it becomes. Beautiful indeed. As it settles down, the sugarcane shows up quite crystal clear making it mouthwatering lucious luscious white floral!

First sniff: " Oh this is amazing" . A day after I was already in love. I really don't know how the indian tuberose smells, but to me this is a pure lime (linden )blossom which reminds me of my granmother's house in my childhood and the amazing linden tea that she was making every single day to me and my sister. Yesterday I was wearing PG17 and I was having a "rendez vous" with my sis. When I was next to her, she told me " What are you wearing? You smell like a linden blossom. It' s beautiful". So, all of you in love with this aroma go for it! I am completely in love!

Sweet grape-y tuberose with banana ylang ylang makes Tubereuse Couture 17 one of those sweet tuberose perfumes perfect for summer heat and tropical vacations. First spray is strong with all the notes intensely seated together. But as it wafts off the skin, the notes float apart and you get that bubblegum sugared tuberose, and hints of banana ylang ylang, with green base. It is a strong perfume that lasts quite a long time. *I do not smell "camphor" in this, there ZERO vicks vapor rub scent here. I smell strong bubblegum tuberose that leans green.

Tubereuse Couture comes on strong with bubblegum florals and bitter citrus peel. The scent dials down considerably after the first few hours and the coconut and banana characteristics of the delightful tuberose and delectable ylang ylang warm the skin beautifully with delightful sweetness. Thanks to the papery/woody notes of papyrus and green jasmine, this fragrance never becomes sickly or cloying - or too feminine for that matter. Those around you will be delighted to smell you all day long.

If you survived during horse sweat start you will get absolutely stunning natural scent of wild forest strawberries! Juisy and rich, but at the same time fresh and restrained. Somebody says that main note is feijoa, but in my opinion feijoa is more sour and less woody. After all I need to say that this is unique scent worth trying. Even though I finished my sample a month ago I still didn’t throw it away and sometimes open it just to smell. Good that Pierre produces 50ml bottles!

High quality tuberose scent here- reminds me of Fracas without the "fusty dusty" and bubble-gummy sweetness- although there is definitely some sweet here-the sugar cane dominates in the early phases, and then the tuberose takes over- a very natural smelling tuberose, combining both the soapy and the animalic qualities of the real blossoms- potency and longevity are superior, too- Gorgeous-

i love it, but i prefer the beginning it has the same that Tubereuse criminelle from Serge Lutens, and it is even stronger without the sharp medicinal note of begining ( that i adore )but i was disapointed it is more expensive and it becomes at the end vanilla and cocoa like, i dont like that smells too sweety for me ! i appreciate it but will not buy it

I already noticed that my skin doesn't necessarily interact with tuberose as desired and doesn't capture the best aspects of this flower. I dared to try though, as a lovely lady gave me a sample of this perfume. The initial spray was one of the vilest things I've ever experienced, testing a perfume. For some reason, it was totally skanky and animalic, somewhat pissy or even a bit fecal as if you took a big sniff while bending over a cage with rats or hamsters, assuming that the cage was super filthy. At least that's what I would imagine to be a source of a foul smell like this one. Happy that I never decided to leave my house while spraying this monstrosity on my arm, I waited to see it develop. And it did, in fact! Somehow the putrid stench quickly transformed into something light, beachy and creamy, summery, flowery. One of fellow reviewers noticed a hint of coconut and I would second that, and also there's a note reminding me of vanilla pudding at some point. Overall, a big pleasant surprise. The scent is not very long lasting, but it's lovely and acts as a mood enhancer after it settles down. As it fades away, it keeps the beachy vibe, adding just a pinch of salty to the creaminess.

An interesting interpretation of sweet, somehow beachy tuberose. The opening is green and minty, but also sweet and floral. This is a sugared, slightly bubblegummy tuberose, blended with green jasmine. What really shines in this fragrance is the benzoin and brown sugar in the base. They come together as such a rich, warm, creamy, balmy duo, almost like caramel and just very beautiful mixed with the white florals. Some other sites list a vegetal ash accord (accord cendré végétal), it's not on the official PG site and not on fragrantica, but I can smell it regardless. It gives the fragrance a cold, ashy, kind of dusty edge. On the one hand it's an interesting addition, but on the other hand I would honestly like the fragrance better if it wasn't there. I generally prefer creamy over dry textures in fragrances, so this aspect of the composition seems unharmonic to my nose. And I think this wouldn't have been boring without the ashy note either. Tubereuse Couture still a good fragrance that blends balsamic and floral aspects seamlessly, it's just not for me.

138) Tuberose snack The flight takes off in the usual puff of camphory air, suffocating - but only vaguely because brought under control, unlike that inflicted by Tubéreuse Criminelle SL. Immediately a little greasy, thick, note of the flower fleshy petals , near the ylang, reminds us of the most lascivious and narcotic scents. In counterpoint, a concealed greenness is barely noticed. The originality lies in the treatment of fruity notes which coexist beside the usual smells of milk near an exotic fruits Malabar (due to an agreement between a molecule, methyl anthranilate, contained in high proportions in tuberose and a fruity note of coconut), with jammy notes. Treatment immerses us in a universe close to Serge Lutens. Tubéreuse Criminelle crosses Datura Noir and Une Voix Noire. Tuberous with caramelized petals still stuck in the copper pot used for the candying. Good longevity/projection (at least!!) and quite unisex I think.

Tubereuse Couture 17 by Pierre Guillaume ventures into uncharted territory with its camphorous interpretation of tuberose. While this facet may not align with the typical tuberose profile, it's undeniably intriguing, especially when paired with a subtle sweetness that sets it apart. Despite the name, there's little that hints at 'couture' here. Instead, it conjures a rather unconventional image - imagine a tuberose ensnared in an alluring yet eerie world, reminiscent of a horror movie set in a clinical setting. This isn't an everyday scent for me, but it excels as a unique and captivating choice. If I were to wear a different tuberose fragrance each day of the year, Tubereuse Couture 17 would undoubtedly be my avant-garde Halloween tuberose of choice.

Tropical vacation—the kind people take on cruises, wearing designer flats with matching handbags, and consuming cocktails with little umbrellas in them. A green Tuberose with lots of sugar—this scent has a “retro candy” Bubblelicious gum appeal. A little bit trashy, but still fun. Tuberose Couture is a strong performer, cutting through humid heat. Go light on the trigger or you will be gassing everyone out around you. My bottle is 11 years old but it still smells fresh. This is not a perfume I wear everyday, and if I’m completely honest, a representation of myself from a decade ago or more. Not a similar note breakdown, but this reminds me of Serge Lutens Datura Noir in that I tend to wear this kind of fragrance during warm summer evenings only.

This is tuberose for your summer holiday. Creamy, greeny yellow-white, coconut-banana, sweet but not sickly, undeniably tropical.The best quality and plentiful sillage. If you're used to citrus colognes or incense frags, this comes as a bit of a shock, but give it a chance. Long lasting and almost edible. Book a flight to somewhere with palm trees, order me a cocktail. I'm impressed. It is a bit odd wearing it in Devon's freezing rain, but people liked it. A must try, nothing like Histoires' Tubereuse frags, more towards Songes or Passion, with extra coconut. Great stuff.x

I love the idea of tuberose in scents and grew up with lots of tuberoses when I lived near the Equator. It's a heavenly smell -- (the actual flowers, I mean) but tuberose replicated in perfume is never quite as I remember the real thing. (The closest it ever gets is with "Michael" -- however much the experts scorn at its loudness.) I had very high expectations of Tubereuse Couture and it certainly starts off very promising and smells like it's about to reveal more, but dwindles to nothingness in a matter of seconds, not even minutes. It's okay, but that's about all.

Very nice blend of candied tuberose and heady jasmine. If you've ever wished that Lush's Lust featured tuberose, this may be just the thing. There is a bit of harsh greenness from the papyrus and the orange is slightly sharp & sour, but these are all good things. It makes this not another tuberose/jasmine in a sea of tuberose/jasmines. These are "dirty" white florals, but with a creamy/soapy touch. Try this if you love Fracas but are over all the clones.

This is a very feminine fragrance, the sugarcane adds just the right amount of sweetness. The tuberose is pretty strong in the opening, less loud than Fracas, but louder than other floral perfumes. Unfortunately, the jasmine joins the party about 30 minutes later and ruins this fragrance for me. I can handle small amounts of jasmine in combination with other notes, but it's somewhat strong in this perfume. Strong like from me.

I am loving the added sugar note. I am liking this very much. The papyrus adds just a delicate green freshness & it's not too grassy green or vegetal/herbal. Blended very well. Moderate projection & last 5 hrs on me.

less intoxicating compared to SL Tubereuse Criminelle, doesn't have that huge pharmaceutical note, guess toned down like this is more suitable for women, while the Lutens was more on the unisex side!

It's interleaving of wild strawberry and cream tuberose. It's a very luring, beautiful, bushy, intensive and rich fragrance.

The first spray brings the menthol/camphor smell of the tuberose (which I find very realistic), the indoles of the jasmine, and the Ylang-Ylang. The result is a chemical/soapy scent that reminds me of walking into one of those stores that used to sell exclusively households and cleaning products. At this stage the various scents seem to be layered rather than blended. As it dries, on my skin it develops a scent that reminds me of raw meat and beeswax, with an overripe tuberose trying to cover everything unsuccessfully. We're back in the store selling furniture wax and laundry detergent. It is not terrible, but strange. It gets sweeter with time, and creamier. It makes me wonder if there is coconut, but just as an impression more than the actual scent. I don't dislike it, but I prefer other tuberose scents that don't go into the tropical/beachy/cocktail-with-umbrella direction. For reference, I love Perris Monte Carlo Tubereuse Absolue and Serge Lutens Tubereuse Criminelle. Update: I realize, as TC is completely dried down, that the "household store" impression comes from the strong citrus of the Kalamanzi oil. The mix flowers+strong citrus is what gives the "dishsoap/detergent medley" scent. Surely it smells clean!

I have a bottle, from a few years ago, I bought it one summer, because I was surprised how it worked for me, unlike usual, I didn't feel it on my skin, but around it, with fresh whiff of jasmine, tuberose, and that synthetic note green, sweet and fresh. unfortunately I got bored after a while, I layered it with Moon boom, or with Neroli Oranger from Matiere Premiere, until I had to admit for the thousandth time that the wrong notes can't be covered by adding other notes, they're still there, and that sugary note cloyed me, I can't stand her. I don't think I can use it again, and this teaches me the lesson to be careful with synthetic, abstract, hypnotic and irresistible molecules. With natural fragrances the opposite happens to me, every time I love my Moon Bloom more and more

Very cloying, sweetened by ylang-ylang, vegetal-ish tuberose. It's not a generic tuberose, if you are after something interesting, you might want to try it, but to me it is chaotic and unpleasant.

Despite the raves,smells like sweet caramel on me.

On paper, wondeful. On my skin, those blue disinfectant blocks you clip into the rim of the toilet. Wak wak waaaaaaa, no thanks.

What an opening... A tuberose bomb explodes into floral showers! The first five seconds runs you past a series of distinct and wildly bombastic notes. I smell ylang ylang, I smell jasmine, I smell tuberose and hints of bubblegum. This perfume is very pop. The sugarcane rounds out each scent and makes every beat smell a little cheap. Imagine the kinds of scents marketed to teenagers at a department store. Of course, this smells like that but MUCH better. PG, it seems, is making an ironic nod to those places as this perfume just simulates that feeling of pink, commodity-fetishism. This scent is, for that reason, very couture and very sophisticated. It is also a little juicy. You must be warned that this perfume uses that very stringent jasmine to achieve this vision and if that is not your pleasure I would suggest you avoid this. For me, this feels a little like putting on a costume. I can imagine myself screaming "I am so girly I could puke!" A great farce by a great perfumer.

I have to wonder if Mr. Guillaume sits up in bed at night and cries,'A-ha!!! Kalamanzi oil, that's what I'll use!" Here are the notes for T. Couture: kalamanzi oil, green jasmine shoots, ylang-ylang, sugar cane, Indian tuberose, Sumatra benzoin, papyrus. Anyhow, I got a sample of this because I liked the bird in the add and I fell in love wiht his other papyrus offering, Papyrus de Ciane. Would I love Tubereuse just as much? Not really. This scent wears like one of Dolly Parton's wigs: heavy, poofy and way too big. I have to wonder what it would be like wihtout the sugarcane and benzoin; it did not need the extra sweetness that these notes bring. I would also prefer a woodier base, like sandalwood, cedar, or even incense. This would have given it more grounding and kept it from being a runaway stink train. Anyhow, not for me.

Such chemistry for a long time does not smell, and chemical attack! Many people here write about strawberries, so here is the smell of strawberry and berry concentrate caramel factory. Bring this stuff concentrated in large jars, cans, and if, God forbid, to open, the stench is so ... From chemical plant delivered, and not a drop of natural does not. Fu-u-u, as one might even call tuberose?

To my nose, this is a loud overwhelming tuberose with added skanky notes from the jasmine, ylang and benzoin. Very unpleasant. I would never wear this one. Fracas seems like a calm tuberose compared to this one. Unless you love the loudest, biggest sillage monster tuberose made, then this is probably not for you.

The first tuberose scent that gave me desire to have one. It`s a sort of very green tuberose with no sweetness at all, which suites me just perfectly since I hate sweet notes. The tuberose is definitely the queen here, but the perfume is soooo fresh. On my wish list!

Sweet,tropical tuberose with ylang ylang which gives it a banana like note.Yummy! Wore it to work and a colleague wanted me to write down the name for her. :-)

Attention grabber! Initial blast of camphorous ylang with a slight medicinal touch. Quite an intoxicating smell and it has great staying power. Impressed me.

That's a royal tuberose,very creamy and different from other tuberoses I have sprayed on my skin.I can imagine a contess wearing something like this

Remind me Lust by Lush. Same jasmine plastic gas notes. Less heavy and solar than Lust, more fresh. Not bad, a little odd, nothing to die for.
