Classic Vanilla

Ladies and Gentlemen, Today I would like to introduce you my favorite scent. This Fragrance is probably one of the most underrated scent of all time (At least from scents I know). This scent is pure elegance in the bottle. It has absolutely amazing powdery-vanila (maybe a bit animalic at start because of musc) scent, which get then some spice and florality to it. It is a really sophisticated scent. I would not say, that his scent, that it has something really masculine like another classic aftershaves, but it is not feminine as well. The one more thing, I`ld like to say is, that this fragrance has a sort of "rich" - I personally hate, when people say sexy or rich about parfums - scent to it; it is not a uncomplicated type of scent, but something really special and unique. I quite sure as well, that in case, it will be a bit more concentrate, will have not a plastic bottle, but a lovely glass bottle and will say it costs 20–30 euro, people will buy it and think "what a lovely "dapper" scent I bought!" Unfortunately, it lasts not as long, as would like, but I can say, that it is kind of all right. Typical cologne-type of aftershave. About price everything is fine as well. In Germany, you can get it for 12 Euro, if you live in the US, than for you it will be 8 US-Dollars for you what is kind of nice! Bottle is sort of okay; typical clubman bottle. But! In my opinion it is one of the most elegant bottle of hole line. It has a good color-combo I guess. I would recommend it for everyone, who like elegant, old-fashioned scents. Warning: In my experience, I at start did not like at all, buy I gave it time and sit is kinda of became good! P.S. In case, you know some scents, which simmular to it, I would to hear you advances!

Pinaud Clubman Classic Vanilla... ...is a bit misleading as people might think it would smell like a Pillsbury vanilla cookie dough. No, not quite...it reminds me of a classic chypre style cologne and it reminds me a bit of Lucky Tiger Bay Rum which in fact is not really a bay rum. Neither does it contain bay leaves nor cloves and Lucky Tiger just used the term "bay rum" for their own chypre cologne. The words bay rum , cologne and aftershave have been used in the past interchangeably for many scented waters. A true Caribbean bay rum had to be made from bay leaves, cloves, spices and alcohol( sometimes real rum). I have never owned Rive Gauche but i can vaguely remember what it smelled like and the comparison to Classic Vanilla doesn't seem to be far fetched. But IMHO it shares a core with Lucky Tiger Bay Rum. Overall a very nice classic aftershave/ cologne.

my favorite aftershave in my rotation, and one i'd happily buy an EDT of if such a thing existed. great for all weather and occasions, pairs great with other fragrances too. i like matching it with sauvage and other blue fragrances, it mingles well with the ambroxan. also pairs great with anything floral.

I'm a fan. Aside from the traditional barbershop fragrances that I love, this is just an added bonus to my collection. I ordered it blind but due to the fact that it's so inexpensive, there wasn't much worry about not liking it or what to do if I didn't. First off, even though it's listed as "classic vanilla", it's not the type of vanilla I expected. I expected a strong, sweet vanilla along the lines of a tonka / vanilla heavy cologne, similar to Givenchy Pi. Surprisingly, I didn't get that. This is a far more light, very subtle vanilla. You can tell there is vanilla mixed in but in truth, it's a blended player, rather than a dominant forefront. I don't really detect spices or lavender - I mostly detect a hint of a vanilla combined with an almost metallic jasmine but as the fragrance dries down, the metallic smell fades away. I use it more as a cologne splash after I shower with a clean, fresh smelling soap, as opposed to the after shave that it is. While it stays very close to the skin, the longevity is surprising for what it is. I'm getting 4-6 hours out of it but then again, I'm applying it a bit heavy and can get away with it, because it's so light and unobtrusive. Admittedly, however odd it may be, since Pinaud doesn't make a shower gel with this scent, I ordered the shaving soap and will use that for showering, since the smell of the shaving soap is this classic vanilla. I've had some luck with longevity in light barbershop fragrances being extended this way, so I'll see how it works out. ** Update ** Received the Pinaud shaving soap and have been using it to shower. I have to say that it lathers very nicely (as expected, since it's shaving soap) and gets me very clean. When doing that and of course, using the after shave as more of a cologne and body splash, I've found that the sillage hasn't increased but the longevity has. Without the soap, longevity was about 4 hours. With the soap, it's about 6 hours.
