Hayride

This opens with a slightly boozy aroma coming from the raisins, like you can smell the fermentation of the grapes. The hay is also very strong, it’s aromatic, green, and earthy. The heart of this gets more bready and sweet with an acorn nut bread note and a warm blend of nutmeg, cocoa and cardamom. It smells like a loaf of spiced raisin bread with a hint of vanilla. The green accords in this keep it from being too gourmand though, this is very earthy. There’s a creamy tonka bean and a prominent oakmoss in the drydown with remnants of that raisin, hay, and slightly sweet breadiness. This scent is really complex and so intoxicating to smell.

3rd Sample of Pineward! i love this, my favourite out of the 4 ive tried so far! a sweet spicy fragrance thats really heavy on the raisin! ive never smelt raisin in perfume and this is seriously cool haha. its fairly linear and features a warm bread and raisin smell with a bit of nutmeg! cant smell the hay all too much but theres honey for sure; the type of honey id eat from a local beekeeper. performance is pretty decent, like 8 hours for longevity. this one is BRILLIANT.

Hay and dried fruits. And honey, they do the hay and honey thing right, this is similar to hayride, but heavier and full of dried fruit and sticky nutbutters. I feel like I can smell the horse pulling the cart in the opening, but it dries down almost gourmand. Definitely feels like a fall/winter cold weather scent.

Hay and hot cocoa. This is a strong hay and chocolate scent. Reminds me of Christmas hayrides sitting on bales of hay in a trailer tugged with a tractor around the ranch. Tasty and fun!

Honey and hay. Nothing else to my nose. All of the scents listed baffle me - I get only thick, sweet honey, and hay. I’ve been using up my Hayride sample for the past few days and the more I use it, the more I like it. It is simple and linear: honey and hay.

Tried this today on a rainy cool spring dat. Felt like I needed it to be October for this. Musty sweet hay in the best way and 15-20 minutes in turns very mapley which I personally love. I would wear this for sure in Autumn!

A pleasant fragrance but a bit heavy on the gourmand side for me. Rich in chocolate with some dried hay.

I think I have to admit to myself that Pineward and I don't jive. I keep buying samples, hoping that *this* will be the one, but on me they all end up smelling too sweet and too strong, like a candle. This one is a lot like Pineward's other hay scents on me: too sweet to enjoy, without much nuance or depth. Like the scent equivalent of the nausea you feel when you eat too many spoonfuls of honey all at once.

This fragrance is a syrupy deluge - so sweet it feels like it clings to your skin like molasses in the heat. It vividly conjures the image of a hayride, all sun-warmed straw, candied air and a pack of raisins in your pocket, but as a personal scent, it feels more like a scene than a signature. Beautiful in theory, yet nearly impossible to wear in practice.

I made a fragrantica account to review this. When i first sprayed this sample on me I stupidly was happy and intrigued. Oh! this smells just like you're on a hayride! i thought. Then soon after, this smell changed. Rotten over-ripe raisons, sickly sweet to the point of being nauseating. How can raisons be over ripe? Isn't that the whole point of a raison? This sick sick sick sweet smell, and hay. God even typing this out it still lingers in my nose and I sprayed this almost a week ago. It stuck with me so hard that I was unable to smell any of my other fragrances, and my lucky scent sample order just came in :( To really hammer this home, I almost bought a pregnancy test because I thought, surely this is a me problem, no way a smell can effect me this much. Anyways. Pineward usually hits the mark but god definitely not blind buy safe

Pineward as a company is so cool - I bought over a dozen samples to try. I cannot stress how much I was boggled by this scent. It smelt like being on a hayride in which you're drinking a strange booze made from fermented, rotten raisins that someone once spilt on the hay you're sitting on - mildewing it - and maybe that clumsy someone is now offering you a scoop of nutella but you're too nauseous to eat. I'm really sorry, I feel badly for saying this - but it all smells so cloying, sickly sweet, and so rancid. The dry down was even worse. The only upside is also a downside - beastly sillage.

Still looking for that 'hay/wheat/dry-grass/yellow-field' fragrance of my dreams. Pineward uses many of these notes in several of their works but you must MUST love honey and sweets to get on board. I am not that person and am picky about sweet smells, so for me they are instant headache/nausea perfumes. This one just smelled like back of the pantry raisins to me, syrupy, & a bit like a yankee candle - Sadly not many of the other notes came out for me :( I've been letting it macerate for months now hoping one day I'll come back to it and smell hay or grass... but so far no luck. Might be my skin that puts those notes forward which is likely why i'm so picky about them - Some of my fav perfume reviewers love this house and find them to smell very well blended.

Okay, I LOVE this one. This is Hay. This smells like clean, dried hay/straw. Straw, raisons, alfalfa, a hint of dried straw flower, drying to honey hay. It’s like walking in the sun past alfalfa or strolling a field of hay and wild flowers. Really pretty. Lifespan is fresh clean hay to full dry down of honeyed raisons in straw, in the sun. Final Final Final dry is powdered honey. Gorgeous summer scent. It lasts all day at skin level for me and gives me endless happy sniffing.

The use of hay, bison grass, and deer tongue tamed by vanilla, cocoa, and tonka create something somber, contemplative, a bit brooding. Feels overcast in an open field littered with fresh bales of hay and the he occasional whiffs of a dark cocoa drink.

It’s warm sweet dry and spicey. Kinda weird. After looking at the notes I actually do pick up on the Nutella spread. Nutella plus hay
