Meadowmoss

Fresh from an exhausting day of hiking in the mountains, you descend into a vast garden, gently lit by the glow of the moon. The sky is clear, and the meadow’s exhalations cradle you like an airborne infusion: hay, alpine flowers, damp earth. Meadowmoss is a quiet, tender botanical idyll. Perfectly calming and unisex.

When I was young I used to take a ferry to a summer camp on an island. The island probably wasn't bigger than a few football fields, and it was decorated with just a few rotting colonial buildings and a swampy saltwater pool. The other thing about the island was that it was completely infested with Canadian geese. The geese mostly minded their business, except for the fact that they shit all over the place. You couldn't walk two paces without dodging goose-shit land mines. When we got home, we would use the 'jet' setting on the hose to power wash the shit off the bottoms of our shoes. I hadn't thought much about the camp in a few years, but Meadowmoss is a snapshot of that island. The grassy greens mingle with the indolic white flower for a truly photorealistic note of goose shit. The orange blossom smells like sunscreen. It's vegetation and rotting wood and sea air and sweaty life jackets and sunscreen and goose shit. I quite like it.

It seems this scent is pretty decisive. For me, I mainly get tomato leaf in the opening, smells exactly like my dads tomato garden. After it drys down i get the orange blossom for sure and its still mixing with the tomato leaf thats now more toned down and grassy smelling. Im not getting the odd notes of piss or really anything funky at all. It just smells green and fresh. I'd say its a 6.5/10 but not full bottle worthy in my opinion, definitely not blind buy safe at all nor is anything from this house. Their decants come with some neat presentation so if you want to try, buy some decants. That way if you dont like the scents, you get a cool sticker and a neat little bag as well.

At first it smells like cleaner mixed with hay, which quickly gives way to a piss-and-hay smell. After 30 minutes or so, the piss smells leaves (thankfully) and I'm left with a lovely alfalfa with hints of apples and honey and wildflowers. When I was a child, I lived in the valley of a mountain. At night, the smell of the wheat and alfalfa fields mixed with the wind rolling down the mountain and landed in my front yard. This perfume smells like those fields. As the perfume settles, the complexity reveals itself - I want to keep smelling my wrist to see what else I'll notice. The sillage is fairly weak and so is the longevity. After 4-6 hours, just hints are left on my skin.

I got this as part of a pineward sample pack. The oakmoss and grass notes seem to be top notes, as this very quickly turned into kind of one dimensional floral drydown. Not afraid of a more feminine leaning scent but it wasn't the moss forward scent I was going for. Florals were well done though, might be a great for someone looking for a subtly feminine scent. Overall 5/10 Stillage (scents are quiet on me) - 5/10 Longevity 4ish hours.
