Pino Fifty

With a name like Pino you know there has to be pine in it (the original Pino Silvestre (1955) bottle is green and is actually in the shape of a pine tree), even if pine is not a listed note. This is about the limit to the amount of pine I can take in a cologne (I dislike Polo green, but I like Pino Fifty). It's a pine dominant scent, but not overpowering pine. The pine is smoothed over by the spicy heart and the sweet benzoin-patchouli-sandalwood base. The citrus I get in the opening is a smoothing bergamot that joins with the spices immediately. It has average sillage and very good longevity. Pino Fifty has a 'formal' aura about it, although I do wear it dressed casual. I like it, especially in the colder weather.

I remember when I was Mrs. Houlihan's class in the first grade and this girl with a Dorothy Hamill haircut who wore pinafores named Erin got really sick. She vomited and was sent to the nurse. I recall the custodian covering the vomit with sweet-smelling sawdust absorbent. Pino Fifty takes me back to exactly how it smelled in the classroom after the unfortunate event.
