Bold Soul

(Based off of the "petal" sampler; if this smells different aerosolized then I wouldn't know.) My skin suppresses all of the supposed fruitiness of this fragrance. There is an insinuation of blackberry but in the sense that I'm smelling the entire bush (leaves and thorns included) in the forest somewhere, which I have to assume is the bark note; there is no juiciness or jamminess. Make no mistake, this is primarily and heavily a floral vanilla scent. Tuberose and vanilla overpower the other notes, though there is a smooth creaminess that I'd have to attribute to the cashemeran. It's a well-blended scent and I'd definitely recommend it to someone looking for a "warm" floral; that said, there's still a mild freshness to it that means it's still spring/summer-appropriate and is arguably best suited for sunshine and warm weather. It can easily be worn by all ages though IMO it is best suited for casual affairs (brunch, music festivals, shopping sprees, etc) or "fun" dates. Unfortunately florals do not jive with my personal taste and demeanor so this is a bust (ironic as this was recommended to me on Pinrose's fragrance quiz), but it does smell very nice! Sillage is moderate and not super strong, just noticeable. The name "Bold Soul" is a misnomer however. There is nothing challenging, daring, or "bold" about this fragrance IMO. Indeed it is strongly feminine (though not saccharine or hyperfeminine) and easy to like, there is nothing masculine/edgy about this and would go well on someone with a frilly "cottagecore"-esque demeanor and sense of style. Edit: About 6 hours later it is still clearly smellable(?) on my wrist but seems to be a mild sillage to skin scent, so performance is pretty good. The flower power in this kind of gave me a headache around the 2 hour mark so it is stronger than I initially thought. Dry down is very nice. Edit 2: I didn't think this scent could develop any more after so long but after 9(!) hours it has dried down to a beautiful rich vanilla. It is really a shame that it doesn't smell anything like this in the beginning. No complaints about longevity that's for sure.

Was intrigued by the notes and very true to the description..however a lot more sugary than expected. I think of it as the younger American cousin of Bacche Di Vinum....notes differ but the same overall vines/fruits/spices. Casual friendly little scent for blackberry lovers.
