Maderas de Oriente Oscuro

I am desperately and unapologetically, in LOVE with Maderas de Oriente Oscuro. This is what a true oriental is supposed to smell like. This is what other Orientals dream of smelling like. I have been on a quest to replace my signature scent for ages. I have had some close calls, terroni and boccanera layered came pretty close and I equally love that combo but it is expensive to layer. Anatolia Anatolia by prin logos is another great love I have found. Again, expensive. Especially for a fragrance whore like myself who wants to stain the atmosphere and remind people of my being present. But this... this surpasses all three. I have longed for this fragrance long before I was introduced and then enraptured by.. because music and poetry is my first language, I am compelled to express myself through a song lyric by The National.. I dreamed about you For 29 years before I saw you I missed you For 29 years before I met you Simplistic in nature but nails exactly how I feel regarding this creation. What does it smell like? Like the depths of the earth's soul cocooned in dark soil, tobacco goodness wrapped in a smoky embrace by hickory/cherry wood tree with limbs still bearing fruit after being set aflame by desire.

A beautiful dark, smoky, gothic scent. Judging from the notes, one will think this as an oriental scent, however on my skin, for some reason I feel that the overall composition is creating the scent of incense, with the prominent note of cherry and honey floating around, providing the necessary sweetness that keeps the scent from getting too masculine. And this one, in perfume concentration, has good spl, so be careful not to spray too much. I use 4-6 sprays only for this, because to use more than that could render me nauseous (Paul's TNT did that to me when I used 8 sprays). The vibe that I get from Maderas is the same with Zoologist Moth, the vibe of a gothic castle, that may or may not be haunted or occupied by dracula, the dim purple coloured light. For those who played Saga Frontier, I imagine this is the scent of Chateau Aiguille in Fascinaturu. And since Wednesday Addams is trending right now, this could be her scent, dark, spooky, but for some reason, something that I can't get enough of.

I am not sure why more people were not drawn to this one. It was singled out for an award when it came out and it has a long list of notes that often appeal to many --tobacco, oud, cherry, amber etc. It is strong and perhaps a bit screechy in the opening but it settles down quickly and lasts for a long time. I really can't think of fragrance to compare it to. I had sort of forgotten about it (I bought it is 2019) but saw it on my shelf and am about as satisfied as I was back then. If you want something that will stand out, that will last for hours and that will serve yiou well in cool weather then this might be an option. Price is good too. Male leaning.

Absolutely love this fragrance! It's very woody and incredibly smokey so not a warm weather fragrance at all. In winter though, this is the absolute best! Literally winter in a bottle. Not a safe blind buy by any stretch of the imagination but if you like dark and smokey fragrances, I can't recommend this enough. It's my wife's favourite of all the perfumes I own

This thing is strong, maybe a bit too overpowering. Smell is very unique and bold, it is a very high quality and photorealistic smelling fragrance. You have to wear it with confidence. Wear this Exclusively on the coldest days.

Wearing it today. Got on the train, found a seat and about three seconds after, the guy sitting in front with the nose hanging over his mask, turns around exhaling in discomfort. It is nauseating, I know. Still love it.

I am very confused. Yesterday I received 2 PK samples, and wore one on each arm all day. On my left arm I had Maderas which I found to be a rather nice smoky, spicy, earthy, slightly sweet blend, of which I would definitely buy a full bottle...and yet it gets no love here whatsoever. CONFUSION; On my right arm I wore PK's Red Leather, which I can confidently say after owning hundreds, and sampling thousands of fragrances, is by far the worst perfume I ever had the unfortunate pleasure of getting my nose across...and yet there was so much love for it on here! What the? Oh yes, please don't come at me with that perfume is subjective blah blah blah, I get it, I really do. Maybe, just maybe, not all compliments you receive when wearing the atrocity that is PK's Red Leather, are positive. "Oh my God, what are wearing (you smell so good!) ?" as opposed to something that is closer to reality, "Oh my God, what are you wearing (get away from me!) ?" But hey, if it makes YOU happy, more power to you.

Tried it recently. Sweet spicy smoky woody thing. Realistic tobacco? No. Decent unisex spicy smoky oriental? Yes. Award-winning fragrance? Apparently... that just mean that there wasn't a lot of valuable competitor that year haha! Not bad... just nothing award-level, imho. And overpriced. Was there a need to say it? A pass for me.

تست امشب . مادراس د ارینت وقتی حرف و تعریف از عطر نیش و ایندی نیش میشه یعنی همین . عطری که سال ۲۰۱۹ جایزه هنری هم برده . معمولا تست عطرهای خانه های نیش و ایندی نیش آمریکایی جذابییت خودشون رو دارند چون بی پروا و آزادانه دست به خلق روایح میزنند . مادراس عطری خلاقانه . رایحه نو . چوبی . خاکی اسموکی . گورماند . شیرین میشه معرفیش کرد . مادراس در حین خاص بودن و جالب بودن اصلا فضای عامه پسندی نداره . انگار تو تابوت ۲۰۰ ساله چوب های معطر و صمغ ها رو تو عسل خیسونده باشند و بیاری بیرون بسوزونی . مادراس شروعی چوبی . خاکی . کپکی . کهنه داره که با حس شیرین بوی عسل و تلخیه بوی آلبالو همراه شده . تو قلب عطر بوی منتول از پچولی بیداد می‌کنه . فضای اسپایسی و دودی همراهه بوی عسل و چوب قارچ گرفتست . عطر با اینکه کمپلکسه اما جزییات عطر کاملا مشخص حس میشه. مادراس بینهایت با کیفییته و فرمول کلی بوی عطر های خام و نچرال رو تداعی می‌کنه. اما رایحه کلی آنچنان جذاب و زیبا نیست البته من خوشم اومد ولی پیشنهاد نمیکنم به همه. گرچه هر عطری ارزش تست داره . مخصوصا ایندی نیش های آمریکایی. با اینکه عطر واقعا جالبیه ولی بنظرم لایق جایزه نبود
