Royal Bourbon

I don't understand why people on frgrantica tend to press the similar button. This fragrance is not at all similar to Kilian. In Kilian, there's a lot of sugar, whereas here you can really smell the alcohol, the spiced, woody rum in all its splendour !!!! At first, it's a little sweet, but the spiciness keeps it from being too sticky and sets it apart from other fragrances in this category. Then, it's a fragrance with a lovely woody amber base, and the vanilla is light and doesn't weigh the fragrance down. You really have to try this fragrance on your skin, as it tends to be a bit greedy on me at first, but on my husband it's so different. Too beautiful on him, I'm jealous 😔. It's really well balanced and subtle. A unisex without hesitation. Rum flavours are often too greedy sometimes bordering on elegant. Here everything is different. I can smell the tobacco in the background, but it's sublime and very subtle. Holds very well and fortunately for me doesn't project for miles😀, the trail exists but it's subtle. From time to time I smell my own wake. This perfume gives a relaxed atmosphere, for the evening it is simply magnificent!!!

This one is a total shape shifter! it opens cinammony and spicy with a combination that comes off like clove just for a few mins...then it becomes caramelly and has a similar rum note to pirates grand reserve. Spot on unisex and radiates really well. I imagine it could be the sort of scent you could have a different experience of each time and it would be fairly weather dependent. I'm looking forward to wearing this more. No nasty amrboxan and smells quality. I love pirates grand reserve but this smells more classy...and more complex...with enough star anise in the base to keep it interesting and a little sweet in the special way liquorice can be. update 7 months later...if you like tobacco vanille you will probably like this...but this has a bit more going on and is definitely less sickly...If tobacco vanille was the teenager this is the young more sophisticated adullt.

Hey hey hey This smells like the beginning of a good decision to just go out have one drink maybe watch a game but you have one drink too many bourbon is spilled and bad decisions are made. What a strong definitive scent. Full bodied whiskey with broody plum and sweet vanilla wrapped in thin wisps of licorice. Perfect for the season of cool and cold. 4.2/5 Lasts. Has sillage. But smells like a melange of frags in the same space.

This smells very close to Lataffa's Oud Thameen without the brighter opening. The ginger is what keeps it brighter in the opening so I actually prefer that one, plus it's like $30 🤷🏾 This one the black pepper stands out more in the opening. The dry down Royal Bourbon sticks to the caramel and tobacco notes primarily while Oud Thameen you smell ginger, coffee, vanilla

I got a lot of cinnamon sweetness and booze. For the winter it’s a beauty and so much finer than Angels Share which is in a similar group to this. There’s a lot there to dive into but the throw is a deep spiced vanilla. If any leather shows up I’d be delighted but as of yet, on me, it’s hasn’t. Dressy, evening but I wear it in the day just because it’s nice.

Wow this is sooooo good! I know there is no plum in this but to me it smells exactly like plum jam. Maybe because we usually add cinnamon and I think some people add rum when we make plum jam. Very delicious very sticky sweet. Love it.

Sweet boozy (cognac?) vanilla, spices, tobacco and a fruity cherry. It's very strong and sweet, but I do like it. I might keep an eye out for this one, kind of unique to me. Closest I have are Tobacco by Franck Boclet, but with the sweet boozy sweetness turned way up and the wood turned way down.

After a spiced vanilla opening it’s moved into a smokey, honeyed rooibos tea overlaid with lightly sweetened lemon cream. In the fade it moves further into a creamy and fine leather feeling scent overlaid with these gourmand honeyed touches. Quite different.

Light, spiced, fruity, fun, and prominent tobacco. Very nice but familiar DNA. It doesn't offer anything new but it's a great alternative to Tobacco Vanille.

It is a bit too sweet and boozy for me, but if you like Angel's Share, you probably would love this. I'll use my sample during winter when out. I'd choke people if I wore this inside.

Very boozy at the beginning, transforming into sugary confectionery vanilla. Imagine you are wearing rum baba. For those who like it sweet and loud.

Very sweet and boozy smell, like someone has poured rum into a jar of caramel and vanilla. And not in a positive way. Gave me a headache within minutes. It’s not a particularly offensive smell, but it’s overwhelmingly strong and sweet. I might work if you’re in your teens or early twenties, or if you’re a woman who likes unisex scents. But it’s not for a mature man. 4.5/10 from me...

I was really excited to sample this. Overall it’s not bad but off my skin there’s one main issue and it’s the ginger. It comes across with alot of bite and it very much like you just cut into a fresh ginger root. It’s piercing and prominent in the opening through the mid and I feel it just doesn’t mesh well with the overall composition. You also get a fair amount of rum with tobacco and cinnamon in the background. As the ginger tones down in the mid, and you get further into the dry down; it’s quite enjoyable. The cinnamon comes out more with the caramel and smells like it’s got bits and pieces of a tobacco vanille with much less vanilla, and some Angels Share/Oajan just no oak barrel accord and more spicy less sweet. It does smell better in the air than up close off skin. Without the ginger and a touch more sweetness, I think it would easily be a 9/10, but with that opening and mid, the ginger note brings it down to like a 7.5 off skin and a 8-8.5 in the air.

This one definitely needs to sit for a bit before spraying. Royal Bourbon reminds me of Ledda's 20 Bourbon Brulee but better. It's smooth, cozy and rich without being screechy. There is no note that feels domineering or overdone. In this scent family I prefer Oajan and Angel's Share because they're a touch sweeter, but I have to admit Royal Bourbon feels more elegant and mature, *especially* if you want a true boozy scent versus an apple pie gourmand.

Smells like mauby (the island drink) concentrate. You can smell the liquorice/anise aspect because it's one of the main spices for this drink. Think mauby concentrate with the added sweetness of caramel! So I have a bottle of this for trade. DM me update (has been traded)

Received mine about a week ago. Was curious does it need to mancerate? I feel as if it does. Because I'm not getting that "boom" experience yet. Now, it smells amazing. Love it, just curious if it needs to sit and if so how long?

I wrote a brief review of this earlier, but I deleted it and wanted to say that this is like a hybrid of Zarahoff Signature Tabac and Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. Pretty good stuff with solid performance.

Reminds me of a less sharp(woody/tobacco) version of Cuban tobacco by alaghabra perfumes, this is more gourmandish but very close! No similarity to tobacco vanille or similar scents.

It’s smells like TF - Tobacco Vanille allt, but also like Oajan. The scen profile is nothing new as others have said.
